Jordan hadn’t been with Donnie for over a month after that last time he told Jordan to leave. Jordan stared at him, wanting to talk to him about all the pressure he’s dealing with, as he’d done so many times before, knowing if he did, they’d end up in bed together as they’d always had when one was under unbearable amounts of pressure. They were each other’s safe haven. The place to go to relieve that stress and release the pressure. Donnie and Jordan knew each other too well and with that developed this secret relationship. They were there for each other ever time the other need them, without question. The only problem now is that Donnie made Jordan feel as though he wanted more from it then unspokenly agreed. Neither one was gay, nor in love with the other, but Donnie feared Jordan wanted more.
“So how’ve you been?” Jordan asked without expression. He knew Donnie was going through something. He could see it in his eyes, but Donnie shrugged it off with a ‘Fine’ as he walked passed Jordan and headed toward the doors.
A few nights later, Jordan sat in his hotel room, near tears. The everyday pressures of the tour, and tabloids began to take their toll on him. In addition, Donnie hadn’t spoken to him more than just on stage. Jordan knew what he needed to calm his weary soul at the moment. He tried to deal with problems in the past month alone, without going to Donnie, but this time it was too much and he needed that safe haven. With a knot in his throat, and an even larger one in his stomach, he decided to go see Donnie.
Jordan arrived in front of Donnie’s cracked open door. He heard Donnie’s radio, but no voices. He walked inside and closed the door. Jordan looked around and found no one, just the typically messy room. He sat on the floor, in between the 2 beds with his back up against one, and waited. He felt slightly better just being in Donnie’s room, but nervous about Donnie’s reaction to finding him in there.
Jordan leaned his head back and closed his eyes. He remembered every time they came to each other in times of need. They’d talk for hours and soon, would be together physically. Jordan sat there remembering Donnie’s touch, how he’d relax Jordan and how he felt inside or he inside of Jordan. But most importantly, he missed the calm he felt when they were done. He missed his friend.
Jordan’s eyes opened to the sound of the door and Donnie walking in his room. He turned his head toward Donnie who hadn’t noticed him. “Hey D.” Jordan said in a calm voice. He was not nervous anymore to what Donnie’s reaction would be. His memories made him feel like they’d forget whatever problems, and be there for each other as always.
“SHIT!” Donnie nearly yelled, turning around quickly to see the source of the voice, although the knew it was Jordan’s. “What the hell are you doin’ in here J?” Donnie asked angrily, catching his breath from being startled.
“I just needed someone to talk too…well, I just needed to talk to you…” Jordan began. So many of they’re times together started with those words.
“Naw Jordan,” Donnie said as he walked in front of Jordan and sat on the bed across from him, “go talk to your brotha’, man.” Donnie didn’t look at Jordan, as he sat there, starring in surprise that his friend was turning him away. Donnie grabbed his beeper off the nightstand and started checking the numbers as Jordan sat, with a growing knot in his throat.
“D, please man, don’t act like this.” Jordan pleaded, and Donnie recognized the cracking in his voice, knowing that Jordan was near tears.
“Don’t come in here with that crying bullshit J. Just forget about it man.” Donnie said calmly as he still played with his pager, having gone through the numbers twice now, just to avoid Jordan’s tearing gaze.
Jordan felt desperate as he stared up at Donnie with a tear rolling down his face. He did begin to forget about his other problems, as the one that sat in front of him began to become dominate. Donnie still refused to look at him, and this made the tears roll faster down Jordan’s face. Feeling desperate, he sat up on his knees quickly, reaching for Donnie’s unbuttoned pants. Donnie moved his arms up as a reflex and watched Jordan quickly pull his pants open all the way. Before Donnie knew it, he could feel Jordan’s lips through his underwear, on his penis, as he had so many times. He blinked hard at the sensation of Jordan’s warm breath and soft lips through the thin material.
“Jordan…stop man.” Donnie said calmly. Jordan ignored him, reaching inside Donnie’s pants to feel what he was teasing with his lips. “Jordan man…I said stop.” Donnie repeated in the same manner, but with shorter breaths. Jordan could recognize that as Donnie getting aroused, and he couldn’t stop. He knew soon he’d have Donnie in his mouth, and just tasting him would make them both feel better. Jordan reached inside the barrier that kept him away from what he wanted, but before he could touch it, Donnie pushed him off so hard he hit the opposite bed. “I TOLD YOU TO FUCKIN’ CHILL J!!” Donnie yelled.
Jordan closed his eyes a little from the stinging pain of hitting the bed with his back, as well as not being wanted by Donnie. The tears rolled fast as he squeezed his eyes shut, getting up off the floor.
He headed toward the door, and everything inside his body began to hurt. His back, his head, his chest, his legs, his hands, his pride, his entire body ached. He ran out the door into the bright light of the hall, his beautiful eyes streaming with tears.
Jordan walked down the hall fast, hoping no one would see him. As he walked past the coke machine, Joseph came out, nearly crashing into him again. “Sorry man.” Joseph mumbled an apology, never looking up to see whom he crashed into.
Jordan wiped the tears from his face quickly. “It’s cool man.” Jordan replied noticing Joseph walking away with his head down. “You aiight man?”
Joseph finally looked up at Jordan. “Damn man, you look as bad as I did an hour ago. Are YOU aiight man?” Joseph asked looking into Jordan’s blood shot eyes, and red, wet face.
Jordan’s eyes quickly glanced at Donnie’s door, then down to the floor. “Just shit man, just shit. I’m aiight.” Jordan said to the floor.
I would ask you to come to my room and talk, but I think the shit going on has got people doing crazy stuff.” Joseph shook his head, and looked down at his can.
“What do you mean man?” Jordan asked. He notices Joseph’s eyes shift up and towards Donnie’s room, and quickly back down.
“Come on man.” Joseph said and started walking toward his room.
“So what’s going on Joe?” Jordan asked once inside Joe’s hotel room, as they sat on opposite beds.
“Nothin’, nothin’.” Joseph lied, still eyeing his unopened can. “Just…everything…” he began, and soon was in tears as he cried to Jordan about everything from the pressures on the tour, to religion, his mom, being away from home, his physical and emotional changes and all.
Jordan sat next to Joe and put his arm around his friends back, as Joseph cried into his hands. Tears rolled down Jordan’s face too, as he related to their shared stresses, and simply because this little boy he watched grow up, felt so tortured. Jordan rubbed his back, and Joseph leaned his head on Jordan’s shoulder. “It’ll be alright man.” Jordan reassured, seemingly to convince them both.
“I just can’t take this shit Jordan!” Joseph cried into Jordan’s shoulder and neck. Then suddenly pulling away he said “And you know what’s even more fucked up?” yelling in his tears. Jordan just stared, quite tears rolling down his face. “Donnie…I don’t know what’s wrong with him…I tried to talk to him and…” Joseph looked away from Jordan.
Jordan stared, afraid of what Joseph was about to say, but needed to hear it. “What man?”
“Nothin’ man…” Joseph mumbled, scooting away from Jordan.
“Tell me Joe. What’d he do to you man?” Jordan realized that he made it sound as if he already knew that Donnie had done something physical to Joseph, but it was too late to retract his words. He just waited for a reaction.
Joseph just stared down at the floor. They sat in silence for a half a minute before he finally spoke. “He tried…to kiss me man.” He told the floor. He slowly began again. “He keeps saying these things to me that sound like come on's…and then he’ll say he’s jokin’ and he keeps puttin’ his hands on me…places that ain’t cool man…he’s even…rubbed his like pelvis UP against me J…every time I’m alone and he comes around…I can’t deal with…” Joseph’s tears came flowing as his voice cracked. “This is just too much for me! I can’t deal with all of this…I just can’t.”
Joseph cried more and Jordan sat closer, slowly reaching around Joseph’s back. They both cried in silence, as Jordan continued to rub Joseph’s back. Suddenly, they both jump at the sound of knocking on the door. Joseph wiped his face with his big hands, rubbed away the tears on his jeans, as he got up to answer it. Jordan, too, wiped his face quickly as he listen to Joseph unlock his door.
“Yeah?” Jordan could hear Joseph say as the door clicked. He listened to see who it was.
“I just needed someone to talk to man. Can I come in?” Jordan heard a familiar voice accompany a very familiar line, and soon Jordan felt an anger inside he’d never felt before for that voice. He stood up and walked in the view of the door to see Donnie looking sad and Joseph looking scared.
Donnie looked up right into the eyes he tried to avoid looking in just an hour earlier, now starring back at him. But these eyes were filled with anger as they glared back at him. “Oh are you to busy to talk to me right now?” He asked Joseph, never looking away from Jordan.
“Joe, man, so we gonna watch that movie right? Jon will be down here in a minute.” Jordan lied starring angrily into Donnie’s hazel eyes.
Joseph turned to Jordan quickly with a twitch, and then back to Donnie. “Yeah man, we were about to watch something. Sorry man.”
“That’s aiight, maybe later.” Donnie’s calm, expressionless face assured directly into Jordan’s eyes. He turned around and headed back to his room.
Joseph closed his door quickly. “Thanks man!!” He said to Jordan with a slight smile, but a bigger sigh of relief.
“It’s aiight man. I’ll stick around until I’m sure he won’t come back tonight, aiight?” Jordan did just that, until Joseph fell sound asleep.
