Ok, so I'm just in a talking mood lately, so bare with me. First, just wanted to let y'all know that the chapters in this story will be considerably shorter than with my other fics, because i also post them on another site, and over there, it's more of a forum set up. so, the chapters are generally shorter, so normally i just combine like three or so chapters when i post on here. however, the way this fic is set up, i think it'd be best if i keep it in its orinigal form, so sorry bout that.that being said, this is the shortest chapter by far, so don't worry, lol.
and also, thanks for explaining the bold text, because yes i will need to use it. it shouldn't be for a little while, but it will come in handy. and it's um, girl, not man, lol. anyway, here's the next chapter. enjoy.

Carrie was sitting on the floor, building a house of legos, when something soft landed on her lap. She smiled at the pair of big green eyes staring at her happily.
"Hey munchkin," she laughed, poking her sides.
"Kelly calls me that too," Alex smiled.
"You like hanging out with her, huh?"
"Who wouldn't?"
"Good point," Carrie smiled, thinking of the bubbly Texan. "How long has she been visiting here?"
"Eleven months, two weeks, and four days," Alex replied, surely.
"Wow. You're really good with numbers."
"No," she shook her head. "Her first day here was my first day too. I'm not sure who was more nervous."
Carrie nodded with a slight smile, trying to figure out what had brought about the sudden company, "Did you need something?"
"This is fine," Alex replied, turning around on Carrie's lap to face the small table as she began adding on to Carrie's house.
"Kelly's not very good with legos," Alex admitted with a giggle.
"Really?"
"No, but she tries hard, so I don't say anything cause I don't want to hurt her feelings. She's really good at games though."
"Oh?" Carrie asked, surprised to find that she was genuinely interested in the other singer. She had seen her from time to time, but she didn't really know anything about her.
"Yea, if you want to win, you better be on her team," she said.
"How often does she come to visit you guys?"
"It depends," Alex replied, scrunching up her nose as she tried to determine how many windows she wanted to put on the house. "When she's over here, she visits like a couple times a week at least. But she goes on tour and stuff a lot. She's really famous, you know."
"I know," Carrie nodded with a smile.
"And then sometimes when she's not at tour, she doesn't come here. She goes to Texas. She said that's where her home is. So she only visits every now and then when she's over there cause it's kinda far to be coming a few times a week. I don't blame her though, for wanting to be in Texas."
"Oh?"
"Yea, I mean. I know what it feels like to want to be home and with your family and stuff."
Carrie felt her heart ache as Alex's normally radiant smile, didn't quite reach her eyes anymore.
"But I'm sure your family comes visit you all the time," Carrie said, handing her the small block she had been looking for.
"Kelly said she could be my sister if I wanted," Alex replied, not entirely answering the question.
Carrie smiled at her gently, "You're a cool kid, you know that?"
"So I've heard," she giggled.
