Chapter 5
Several weeks passed without a word from him, leaving her confused about the night that they shared. She tried to go on with things as normal as possible. Micky and Serra started seeing each other they made a beautiful couple. Kate’s birthday was coming up and they were planning a party for her, there was plenty to keep her busy but still her mind would wander back to that night after the party.
Yunho was just as confused about his feelings for her, he had never had these feelings before. He was always so careful to not get emotionally involved with his lovers, but there was something about her. He just couldn’t put his finger on it.
Rina was sick for the third time that week, she called and made an appointment with her doctor. He ran a few tests telling her that he would call her with the results.
She was sitting in her office talking to Junsu, he was worried about her he’d never known her to be as sick as she had been. Her phone rang, it was the doctor’s office Junsu waited anxiously while she talked to them. The look on her face got him on his feet as he rushed to her side, tears were rolling down her face as she hung up the phone.
“What is it? Rina are you okay,” he asked concern showing on his face.
“I’m pregnant!!” she said looking at her friend. She started laughing, “Oh my God, I’m going to have a baby!!!”
She jumped up and threw her arms around him, he hugged her back. “So I guess this means that you’re happy about it,” he asked.
“Yeah, I am. I guess I shouldn’t be I don’t know how I’m going to have a baby by myself, but yeah I’m happy!!” she exclaimed.
“You don’t have to do this by yourself, you have me, the girls, Micky, we all love you and would do anything for you. You do know that don’t you?” Junsu asked.
“I know and if it weren’t for all of you, I’d be hopelessly lost and alone,” she kissed her friend on the cheek.
“Are you going to tell him?” Junsu asked.
“I don’t know, right now I need time to get used to the idea myself the last time I had a baby I was only 17 years old,” he could see the pain in her eyes as she spoke. “I mean evidently he doesn’t care about me, so why should he be interested in a baby.”
“Why don’t you take the rest of the day off? Go home tell the girls and get some rest,” Junsu told her. “I’ll call you later to check on you, okay!?”
“Thanks, I’ll do that,” she gathered her things and headed out the door.

It had been almost two months since the dinner party, she had not tried to contact him and he hadn’t called her. He really didn’t know if she even wanted to hear from him, then he got a call from a friend in HR she was requesting a transfer to another office. He couldn’t help but feel that something was not right, remembering how she was so adamant that she not be transferred before. He asked his friend to find out why she wanted the transfer and let him know.
It didn’t take long his friend called to tell him that she had listed ‘personal reasons’, but upon further digging he noticed several trips to a doctor. The only reason that he followed up on that was because he thought she might have some type of terminal illness, but it turns out the doctor was an obstetrician, she’s pregnant.
Yunho was shocked at this news, but happy at the same time. He had always wanted children, but had pretty much given up hope of ever finding someone to have them with. All the women he slept with were only after his money, most often pretty shallow, definitely not mother material. But Rina was different why hadn’t she contacted him with this news, it was good, right?? Maybe she didn’t want another baby. He jumped from his chair, he had to find out what she intended to do.

She was in her office going over some reports, when he barged in surprising her. “We need to talk,” he said.
“Yes, we do but not here,” she told him. She walked past him and headed towards the conference room. Junsu stopped her and glanced at the man following her.
“Is everything okay?” he asked.
“It’s okay, I’m fine. I’ll talk to you in a while,” she smiled at her friend and continued walking to the conference room.
He closed the door behind them, he could tell that she was nervous. “Why haven’t I heard from you,” he tried not to sound angry, but it came across in his voice.
“Well, I’m not used to following up on one night stands, that’s your department. And since I’ve not heard from you I assumed that, that was all I was to you.” She spat back.
“I wasn’t sure that you even wanted to hear from me, and I didn’t want to bother you. But something has recently come to my attention and I think that we have a few things to discuss.” He said studying her face for a reaction. She had a certain glow that he had never noticed before, he knew now that he shouldn’t have come to confront her, not like this but it was too late now.
“Oh my God, you know don’t you? What are you spying on me now?” she said looking at him in disbelief reaching out to hold on the back of a chair for support.
“I’ve been keeping tabs on you, I wanted to know that you were alright,” he admitted.
“So you know, what are you doing here? It’s not like you love me or anything so what do you want,” she asked fighting back tears.
The look on her face broke his heart, he wanted to hold her but he dare not touch her for fear that she would reject him. “I want to do what’s right, we’ll get married and I’ll take care of you and the baby.” He said matter-of-factly.
“No, we will not get married. I’ve been there done that with a man that didn’t really love me and I won’t get caught in that trap again.” She said. “I’ll do the best that I can and take care of this baby myself.”
“So you intend to keep it,” he asked, his heart feeling much lighter.
“Of course I…..you thought that I was going to get rid of it?! That’s why you came here. What kind of heartless bitch do you take me for?” she asked tears now running down her face.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” he reached out to touch her, but she pulled away. “If you won’t marry me, at least move in with me so that I can take care of you and the baby, please.” He pleaded.
“I can’t, I have two children and I can’t leave them. Besides you don’t need us there to ‘cramp’ your lifestyle,” she replied.
“You are not going to cramp anything, right now nothing is more important than you and the baby. Please let me help, I’ve always wanted children, I will do anything that you want just please don’t shut me out.” He asked, “If you don’t want to move in with me, then take the guest house it has 3 bedrooms, it’s plenty big enough for you and your family.”
“I need to talk to my daughters and then I’ll let you know,” she said, she started to walk out he grabbed her arm. She looked at him, he could see all the pain and confusion in her eyes.
“I promise that I won’t let you down again,” he reached out to pull her to him, this time she let him. He held her as she cried, when she pulled away she told him that she would let him know what they decided and she walked out.

When she got off work she went to the bar to talk to her daughters, Micky, Jaejoong and Junsu joined them. She told them what he had said and asked what they thought about it.
“Well, at least he’s trying to take responsibility. We’ll go along with whatever you decide Mom,” Kate said.
“I’ll back you whatever you decide, but I still don’t think that I’m going to like him much, he sounds like a real piece of work,” Serra said.
“Can I speak to you in private,” Junsu asked. They went in to the store room, “Rina, you are my best friend and it hurts me to see you in so much pain. Marry me, I’ll take care of you and the baby. No expectations, I just want to help.”
“Oh, sweetie, you have no idea what your friendship means to me. I can’t marry you that would be so unfair to all the other women out there just waiting for someone like you to sweep them off their feet. Besides who would be my best friend?” she smiled and hugged him. “I love you, just as we are now I would never do anything to jeopardize that. Getting married has a way of ruining even the best of relationships.”

She called Yunho to let him know that they had agreed to move into the guest house. She’d hardly gotten off the phone when someone knocked on her apartment door. He’d sent movers to pack everything up and move her to the guest house. She and the girls drove out to their new ‘home’ leaving the packing to the professionals, he was waiting for them.
He took them to the guest house to show them around and then gave her the keys. “If you need anything at all, just pick up this phone, it’s an intercom between the main house and here. It will ring directly into the house and just let me know whatever you need.” He smiled at her and acted like he wanted to say more but then he turned and left them to get acquainted with their new house.
Once the movers brought their things they got busy unpacking their clothes and other personal items, the girls insisted that she take the master bedroom, they would continue to share a room and that left the other bedroom as a spare.
She saw him sitting on the terrace drinking what appeared to be a beer, she walked out to talk to him, “Hey, thanks for sending the movers, I don’t think that I would’ve had the energy to get it done.” She said.
He sat up in his chair, concern on his face, “Are you okay? Do you need to see the doctor,” he asked, rising from his chair to walk towards her.
She laughed, “No, everything’s fine. Pregnancy does strange things to your hormones and energy levels, it probably doesn’t help that I’m a bit anemic. I’ll be okay and don’t worry I’ll take care of the baby.” She answered looking a bit hurt.
“I worry about you too, please believe that you are important to me also,” he said their eyes met and he was lost in that beautiful blue sea that was her. He wanted to hold her and kiss her, but he knew that she would only pull away.
“I’m trying, it’s just that our track record hasn’t been the best,” she smiled, “I need to go start supper, the girls and I don’t get to eat together very often, not at home anyway. I’ll talk to you later.”
He watched her walk back to the guest house, wishing that she would’ve stayed with him in the main house. Why couldn’t he tell her how he felt? Would she even believe him at this point in time? He was driving himself crazy trying to decide how best to handle this, the only thing that he was positive about was that he would do everything in h is power to take care of her and the baby.

Chapter 6
Things went on as normal as possible, he asked her to quit work telling her there was no need, he would take care of everything. She refused, it was her little bit of independence and she wanted to work as long as possible. He agreed but only as long as she promised to cut back on her hours.
It was time for Kate’s birthday party, they decided to have it at the bar, since all her friends would come by there anyway. The biggest and best surprise for everyone was when Jaejoong presented her with a set of matching couple rings and asked her to be his girlfriend. Kate was so happy that she cried when she accepted. Rina was happy, now both of her girls had someone they loved that loved them back. She wished that the man she loved felt the same about her, but she knew that it was just a dream.
They were all surprised when Yunho walked in the door, with a gift in hand. “I hope that I’m not intruding,” he said “I just really wanted to acknowledge Kate’s birthday.” He handed Kate the gift and turned to leave, Rina put her hand on his arm.
“You’re not intruding, stay a while, if you don’t have anything else planned,” she smiled when he accepted and removed his coat to stay. They joined the party, Kate loved the collection of CD’s he’d gotten her, she thanked him and then went off to join Jaejoong.
“Looks like your daughter has an admirer,” he said watching how Jaejoong seemed to hang on her every word.
“They’ve had a thing for each other for a while, but until today they didn’t say anything. He gave her couples rings for her birthday, I’ve never seen her so happy,” she said watching her daughter and smiling.
“You love your children very much don’t you,” he asked watching her face.
“They are the reason that I get up every morning,” she said, she glowed when she talked about them. “All of them,” she said as she placed her hand over her stomach protectively. She looked up at him, “You seem surprised, this is my baby too, and yes I love him very much already.”
Their eyes locked, there was so much they wanted to say to each other, but both were too stubborn to admit their feelings. She looked away first, “I think that I’m going home, I’m tired and a little sick to my stomach,” she told him.
“Let me drive you, that way you can relax on the ride home,” he asked, she agreed only because she really didn’t feel like driving her self.
She told the others that she was going home, she was tired. He noticed that she didn’t tell them she was feeling ill, the girls offered to drive her but she told them that Yunho had already offered. She gave them the keys to her car and told them she would see them at home later.
He opened the door for her and once she was settled he closed it and went to get in on the drivers side. She fell asleep on the way home, when they got there he carried her to the guest house and to her room. He laid her on the bed she stirred and he took her hand, “Why can’t I just tell you how much I love you? It scares the hell out me, I’ve never felt like this. You were supposed to be a one night stand but all I want to do is hold you so you’ll know that you’re not alone and never will be again.”
She was mumbling, he tried to make out what she was saying she called his name, ”Yunho….I love you….” She said and smiled in her sleep. He couldn’t believe what he’d heard, she loved him, his heart soared. He covered her with a blanket and lay down beside her, he didn’t want her to be alone anymore than he wanted to be by himself. He wrapped her up in his arms and she snuggled close at least for the moment she belonged to him.

When she woke up she was surprised to see him next to her asleep with his arms wrapped around her. It felt good, it felt right. But there was one problem, she was about to be sick she jumped up and ran to the bathroom. The sudden movement woke him, he could hear her in the bathroom he went to her.
“Is there anything that I can get you?” he asked as he reached down to help her up.
“No but I will be so glad when this is over,” she smiled weakly at him he helped her back to bed.
He covered her up she looked at him with tears in her eyes, “Thank you, I’m sorry I know that there are other places that you would rather be,” she said. “I shouldn’t have moved out here, I’m more trouble than you need.”
He took her hand and kissed it, “There is no other place that I’d rather be than here with you, you just don’t get it do you?” he said.
“What is there to get? The only reason I’m here is because this,” she said laying her hand on her belly, “is the Jung heir.”
He laid his hand over hers, “You’re right this is the Jung heir, but you mean more to me than you know. Rina, I’ve been fighting this feeling, because I know that you hate me, I love you. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without you.”
She sat up on the side of the bed crying harder, “I..I don’t hate you, I love you too!” she said putting her hands on either side of his face.
He stood up pulling her with him, he pulled her close, “Oh God, you don’t know how much I’ve wanted to hear you say that, say it again, please!” he asked her.
“I love you, I love you, I love you!!!” she was laughing now.
“I love you too,” he kissed her.
“Prove it,” she whispered in his ear.
He shut and locked the door and went about showing her just how much he loved her.

They lay there holding each other after their very vigorous lovemaking session. “Marry me?!” he asked.
“No,” she answered.
He knew that there was no sense in arguing with her he had learned that lesson well, “Then move into the main house with me, share my bed and my life with me, until I can convince you to marry me,” he asked.
“Yes, but what about my girls?” she asked.
“They are more than welcome to move in to the main house, or they may keep the guest house as their own,” he answered.
“You would do that for me?” she asked.
“I would do anything for you, even die if the situation called for it,” he pulled her close and kissed her.
“You can’t do that, we have a baby to raise,” she told him cuddling up close.
He chuckled, “I’m not planning on going anywhere just yet, baby,” he told her.
“Good because I can’t imagine my life without you either,” she tilted her head so that he could kiss her.
Later when they sat at the table drinking coffee after breakfast, the girls came down and were very surprised to see him there. Especially since he was holding their mother’s hand, “Girls I need to talk to you,” she said. They came and sat down at the table, “Yunho and I talked last night, and I am going to move into the main house with him, but…”
“You may move in with us, or keep the guest house and consider it a gift,” Yunho finished.
“Well, it’s about time!!!” Serra exclaimed. Hugging her mother.
“Yeah, we thought we were going to have to play matchmaker or something, we’re happy for you Mom,” Kate added. She hugged her mother too.
“So I guess that means that you approve,” Rina said.
“Oh yeah,” Serra said.

Chapter 7
She got settled into the main house and went back to work, Yunho didn’t want her to but she said it would keep her mind occupied for a while longer. She needed to stay busy and she liked her job and her co-workers so it was really a good outlet for her. Yunho sent her fresh flowers everyday, she told him to stop but he said he was working on that yes he wanted to his proposal.
She was going over some accounts and noticed that there were some discrepancies, she called him to come to her office and told him that it was important. Naturally he thought that something was wrong with her so he rushed to her.
“I’m fine, I just wanted to ask you about this account, there are a lot of discrepancies and I’m not sure how to handle it,” she told him handing him the printouts, “I was going to talk to Junsu, but he’s in a meeting that’s why I called you.”
He looked up from the reports, “Please tell me that you haven’t talked to any one else about this,” he said worry written on his face.
“No, Yunho what’s wrong?” she was bothered by his expression she went to him and he wrapped his arms around her pulling her close, “You’re scaring me,” she said her voice trembling.
“Promise me that you won’t mention this to anyone, not even Junsu, I’ll talk to him, okay,” he asked.
“I promise,” she told him, he leaned down and kissed her.
“Go ahead and get your stuff together, I’m taking you home. I’m going to talk to Junsu and I’ll be back,” he kissed her again.
She sat at her desk and started closing up her computer and locking everything else up in her desk. Lee Sun came into her office, “Is everything okay?” he asked mildly concerned and curious.
“Yeah, I’m not feeling well, so I’m going home, I’ll see you tomorrow,” she said and walked towards him when he walked out she closed and locked her office door behind her.
Yunho was in Junsu’s office and had explained everything to him, “I don’t want her working on those particular accounts it could put her in serious danger. Understand?” he asked.
“I will take care of it. May I ask a personal question?” Junsu asked.
“Sure,” Yunho replied.
“Do you love her? Or are you just interested in the baby?” Junsu asked.
“I love her, more than my own life. It was totally unexpected, I promise that I will do anything it takes to make her happy and keep her, and the baby, safe.” Yunho replied looking straight into Junsu eyes.
“She is a very special person and the best friend that I’ve ever had. I even offered to marry her so that she wouldn’t be alone, did she tell you that?” Junsu asked.
“No, do I need to consider you competition?” Yunho asked raising his eyebrows.
“Only if you break her heart.” Junsu told him with complete honesty.
Rina knocked on the door, and walked in, she took in the scene before her as the two most important men in her life looked as if they had squared off for a fight. “Hey, is everything okay?” she was concerned.
“Everything’s fine,” Junsu and Yunho answered at the same time.
“I’m ready, Junsu I locked everything in my desk and then locked my door. Yunho wants me to go home and rest, if you need me will you call me?” she asked.
“I will call you later to check on you, don’t worry about anything. You are in very capable hands so please just get some rest, okay. I love you,” Junsu said as he hugged his friend and kissed her on the side of her face.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” she asked, he nodded. “I love you too I don’t know what I would do without you!”
“I’ll be at the house with her should you need anything or have any questions just call,” Yunho told Junsu reaching out to shake his hand.
“Thank you, I will,” Junsu replied.

“You two weren’t arguing, were you?” she asked Yunho as he climbed into the driver’s seat next to her.
“No baby, just coming to an understanding. Everything’s fine there’s nothing for you to worry about,” he leaned over and kissed her lips. “You look tired.”
“Yeah and worried, is this situation really that bad. Could you get hurt?” she said looking at him with tears in her eyes.
“You don’t worry, I’m fine and will stay that way as long as you’re okay,” he squeezed her hand, “I love you.”
“I love you too, I don’t want to lose you,” she said.
“You’re not going to, I’m not going anywhere,” he said. He was worried about her, she looked so tired all the time lately. “When is your next doctor’s appointment? I’d like to go with you, if it would be alright.”
“It’s tomorrow afternoon, they’re going to do an ultrasound. I was going to ask, but I wasn’t sure that you’d be interested.” She said.
“This ultrasound, will we get to see the baby?” he asked smiling.
“Yeah, and hear it’s heartbeat, it’s four months now so they could probably even tell us what it is. If you want to know,” she told him.
“I would love to go. Do you want to know what it is?” he asked looking at her.
“I’ll let you decide, I’ve done this twice already. This is your first so it’s your decision.” She smiled at him and placed his hand on her belly, he felt something.
“What was that?” he asked.
“That was our baby, saying hello to his Appa,” she laughed at the look of surprise on his face, then he broke in to a huge smile.
“This is amazing,” he lifted her hand and kissed it. “Have I told you lately how much I love you?”
“You have, but I’ll never grow tired of hearing it!!” she said.

At the doctor’s appointment Yunho sat by her as the doctor did the ultrasound. “The baby looks great, measurements are good, heart rate’s good, did you want to know what it is,” the doctor asked.
“I’ll let him make that decision,” she looked at Yunho, “Do you want to know?” she asked.
“I think I would, do you mind?” he asked her.
“No I don’t mind,” she touched the side of his face then turned back to the doctor.
“It’s a girl,” he said smiling. “I’ll print you some copies of the pictures to take with you. Everything looks great, I’ll see you in a month. If you need anything you just call and let me know,” he patted her on the shoulder and left.
Yunho still had not said anything, “Sweetie, are you all right?” Rina asked looking at his face, he grinned.
“A daughter,” he kissed her, “this is great, I always wanted a little girl, a little JiYool!! This is a dream come true,” he kissed her, “Thank you for letting me come with you today. I love you so much, marry me?”
“Maybe,” she laughed at the surprised look on his face.
“Really!! Well at least it’s not a no anymore,” he kissed her again.

He had to find what she was locking in her desk, she had not returned to the office after she had left 3 days before. He had asked Junsu about her feigning concern Junsu told him that she was taking a few days off she wasn’t feeling well. That’s what the nosey bitch got for getting herself pregnant, and by the big boss of all people. He didn’t know how she could even bear for him to touch her, much less having a part of him growing inside her. But that would be remedied soon enough, Jung Yunho would pay dearly for what he’d done to him and his family, she and the brat would be the down payment.
