Author's Note: Thank you for those who read the first chapter. Over 40 reads. However, I didn't see any feedback. If you could, please leave me some kind of feedback when you read the chapter. Chris laid with her head on Gerry's chest as he wrapped his arm around her, playing with her hair.
"Doesn't this remind you of our first time?" He said.
"How can I forget. You invited me for a weekend getaway to a cabin you rented from a friend. You lit a fire for us in the living room and wrapped us up with a blanket while we sat on the floor. You had your shirt unbuttoned just a little bit, but enough to have some chest hair sticking out. Enough to turn me on." She looked up at him. "Then I couldn't resist doing this," she kissed his chest. "And you knew it because you never stopped me."
"And before either of us knew it, we were both laying on the floor, blanket covering us as our clothes were thrown all over the floor." He smiled. "I never forgot that day."
"I never did either Gerry. How long ago was that? Ten years?"
"Exactly. Look, I know the relationship we have isn't the type you wanted."
"Gerry, don't worry about it. I'm sorry I even brought it up before. I love where we are, really I do. I mean you're my friend and I'm your friend. And we're just friends who enjoy each other's company. Plus, you helped me by giving me this job when you found out I was trying my hand in show business."
"I had to get you out of that club. It was no place for a girl like you. I mean you weren't like those others who worked there. You were too shy and those guys really could've hurt you. I knew I had to have you as my assistant."
Chris nodded, she remembered the day well too. It was a club her best friend Danni worked at and got her the job there too when she had trouble finding work as an actress. She could never get on the stage and dance like those other girls, so she was made a waitress. Not that waiting on tables there was any better. There was hardly any material to her uniform. It was there she met Gerry, when he and a bunch of his friends visited. Of course, she noticed him immediately as she went to take his order. Their eyes met and the rest was history. A few weeks later, that's when she was offered the job to work for him. "I hated working there. It was so below what I would do. But I was desperate for money, I would've done anything at that point."
"Did you ever sleep with any of those guys?" Gerry looked into her eyes.
"What are you talking about?"
"Some of those nights, I saw you go into a backroom with them and well..."
"Don't for once ever think I slept with them. Yes I went into the back with them, but it was never for anything like that. It was more of a private dance show for more money. I had to make rent you know. But sleeping with them, I'd never. I didn't even know who they were." She intertwined her hand with Gerry's. "I'll be honest with you. The first time we slept together, that was my first time."
"You mean?"
"Yes you were my first and well...you're still my only."
Gerry wrapped his arms around her, tighter. "Well now I feel horrible. I mean her you've been faithful to only being with me, but I've been going out all the time with these women. Hell, I've been engaged and yet you still want to be with me. Chris, I'm afraid I'm going to be the guy who breaks your heart and that's why I don't want us to be more than we already are. Even though I know you're the only woman I want to be with."
