Chapter 2: Wedding Part 2/Surprises
Andy and Shey rushed out of Wendy's car, when she pulled up. They wanted to get pictures of the reception area before the guests arrived. When Brian and Angel drove off in the limousine, Andy told everyone they had to get to the reception. She and Shey hopped into Wendy's car and asked Ethan who jumped in with them what the quickest way was. He began to direct Wendy and they were off.
Shey and Andy were talking about their cameras and how they had to switch out their memory cards. Andy was going to come over to Shey's hotel room tonight and they were going to go through all the pictures and put a book together. Ethan turned in the passenger seat and looked at Andy.
"Oh no bitches! You two are going to put the cameras down and Alex and I are going to take you both out!" He said.
Andy was looking through her camera, "Ethan as much as I love you, and missed you. I need to get this done. I told Angel that I would have the book by the end of the week."
Shey looked at Andy, "Okay, I love you, but you REALLY need a night out. Also you look completely drained!"
"What's with everyone saying I look drained?"
"Andrea you do! I mean come on the bags under your eyes are horrible! We HAVE to fix them before you get there. Shey please!" Wendy said giving Shey her purse.
Shey went through Wendy's purse and found some cover up, "You, look at me and look up."
Andy sighed and did what she was told.
"Andy one night isn't going to kill you. Take your pictures, after the reception, come back to mine and Alex's place and we'll take you and Shey out for a drink. Wendy you too of course."
"What about Justin?" Wendy asked.
"He can come too."
"What about Lynn?" Shey asked. The three were all waiting for Andy to give an answer. Shey finished putting the cover up and Wendy pulled up to the entrance to the building where they were having the reception.
Andy avoided the question by telling Shey they had to get in there and take pictures. As they rushed out both Ethan and Wendy said that Andy still had to talk about Lynn. Andy just shouted muffled okay as she tried to adjust her camera.
She and Shey rushed in and stopped taking in the room. Tables were set up with white table cloths, a single white rose centerpiece, plates, silverware. There was a dance floor, softly lit lights to set off the white and silver around the room. Each seat had a small gift bag. The front of the room had a long table for the wedding party. In the small corner was a stage set up for a band. Andy was brought out of her thoughts when she heard Shey's camera clicking.
She took hold of hers and started to take pictures. She was able to get a few in when the wedding guest started to file in. Shey turned her attention to the guests and Andy focused on the set ups. Andy stopped taking pictures when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and smiled when she saw David looking back at her. She didn't have time to say anything because he pulled her in for a tight hug.
"David! It's great to see you too! But I need to breath! Plus my camera!" She coughed and he let her go but kept his hands on her shoulders.
"Where the fuck have you been?!" He asked with a smile. Andy coughed one more time and with a shake her head and waved her hand she took in a deep breath.
"Oh you know, Milan, London, Belgium, Athens, Singapore, Hong Kong, the usual."
Just then she heard a gasp a saw Cathy and Tim coming her way. Again she was caught in a grip tight hug. Tim had to remind Cathy that Andy needed to breath. She let the young woman go and took Andy's face in her hands, "It's so good to see you. I've missed you."
"I've missed you too Cathy. I can't tell you how great it is to see all three of you." Andy blinked back her tears and Tim brought her in for a hug.
"We need to catch up when you are free." He whispered and he could feel her nod. He let go of her and cupped her cheek, "It's been far too long."
"I'll come find you after the speeches. I have a lot of explaining to do. But right now, I need to get some pictures of Brian and Angel when they walk through the door. It's really great seeing you all again. You have no idea. I can't wait to sit and talk with you." She gave them each one more hug and she went off to find Shey.
The guests were all seated and waiting for the bride and groom. Andy was off to the side entrance. Shey was in the middle of the dance floor to get frame by frame photos of them walking in.
Andy smiled when she saw Lauren and Justin walked arm in arm. Followed by Mark and Melissa. Then the maid of honor and best man walked in. Andy had to hold her breath when she saw Lynn walk in with Alex. It was Andy's first time seeing Lynn in a dress and she looked absolutely beautiful. The peach strapless dress fit her just right and it took all of Andy not to rush over to her and take her. If only she could talk to her tonight, but she would be too busy running around taking pictures for Brian and Angel.
The crowd cheered when they saw Brian and Angel walked hand in hand. Andy and Shey started to snap away at their cameras. Moving around to get every second they could. The couple made their way towards the stage and they took their seats. The guest took their seats and the waiters went to the tables and started to ask what they would like to eat.
Andy and Shey met up and started to compare their pictures. Of course they would have to get Angel's approval for most of them. But they took some really good ones. Lynn looked over at the two and saw how close they were. Again there was that hint of jealousy feeling. Just seeing the two of them that close made her skin crawl. She saw Andy look at Shey and then kiss her forehead. This didn't go unnoticed by Alex. He looked in the same direction she was and he took her hand in his.
"Hey, they're just friends." He whispered and she nodded.
"You're right, I just can't help but feel jealous at the fact that they're that close."
"They're old friends and Ethan said that Shey's like a little sister to her. That's all. Now come on, let's enjoy this." He kissed the back of her hand and nodded. She couldn't let something like this bring her down. Today was all about Brian and Angel.
**********************************************************************
"Brian, I remember trying to buy and amp from you and next thing I knew you and I were in a band together. You are my brother, best friend and I love you. Angel I'll never forget the day I met you. I couldn't believe Brian had a girlfriend as beautiful as you. I seriously thought you were out of his league."
The crowd chuckled at what Alex said. He cleared his throat and smiled, "Eight years is a long time to wait, but Brian wanted to be sure. I remember being on our first tour and he would call Angel every night just to talk about his day and just to say good night to her. Having Angel on tour a few times was always an amazing time. She keeps him grounded and he keeps her spontaneous.
They say love is hard to find but even harder to keep. We all find love a few times in our lives, but we only have that one true love. When I think of true love, of course I think about my parents. I also think about Brian and Angel. I love you both and I wish you many years of happiness. To Brian and Angel." He raised his glass and the crowd repeated what he said. He walked back to the table and Brian stood up giving him a hug. Angel did the same. They both told him thank you and he congratulated them one more time.
He gave the microphone to Lynn and she took in a deep breath. She walked to the middle of the dance floor. She smiled and turned to Brian and Angel at the table.
"I don't know how to follow up to Alex's amazing speech," the crowd let out a chuckle and she took in another deep breath and let it out.
"I met Brian through Alex and the three of us just had this chemistry. Together the three of us started this journey that we never thought would lead us to amazing things. When he introduced me to Angel I thought thank God I have a girl to talk to." Again the crowd chuckled.
She smiled, "Brian has been my rock ever since our first tour. He would take my mind off the stress and we would go on these adventures. But if he got too much I would call up Angel and we would talk just about anything and everything for hours. When she came on tour with us she was a life saver for me. I had a female companion for a while and it was a breath of fresh air. These two have been there for me throughout the years. They're my best friends and I love you both. Congratulations and I can't wait to spoil the little ones when they come. To Brian and Angel." She raised her glass and the crowd repeated her last words.
She walked up to the table and Angel wiped her tears away before giving Lynn a hug. When they let go Brian did the same and pulled her in for a hug. He took the microphone from her and smiled, "We do have one more person to give a speech. Has anyone one seen Andy? She's running around her with her camera. She has the silver white looking hair."
The crowd started to murmur trying to figure out where Andy was. Brian was about to speak into the microphone one more time then, he saw her rushing in through the entrance. She was followed by Ethan. She was out of breath and rushed up to the stage and smiled at Brian.
"Sorry, had a crisis with the house in Georgia." She said and he gave her the microphone, he told her it was okay and smiled.
Andy cleared her throat and looked around at the crowd. She smiled, "Hey everyone, I'm Andy a friend to both bride and groom. The first time I met Brian was during a show that Ethan and I drove five hours for. It was a meet and greet for PVRIS, and I was a babbling idiot. Long story short Ethan won the raffle and we got to hang out on the tour bus with them. That same year we spent Christmas and New Years with them in Boston. We met Angel.
Angel and I clicked over the fact that the band's PR team wanted to know some information about me and I kind of got angry about it. But Angel helped me realize that it was only precautions. When Brian told me that he was going to propose to Angel I was ecstatic. I was even more ecstatic when he asked Alex and I to be a part of the proposal. I had just met them and we all became close quick.
I've kind of been missing in action recently, but I couldn't miss this day." She turned to the table and smiled, "Brian and Angel, you two have a love that everyone dreams about. We all try to find it or we wait for it to find us. But when we do we want to hold onto it, fight for it, we don't want to lose it. We do anything to keep that love."
Angel gave a sideways glance to Lynn, then looked back at Andy and smiled. For the fourth time she could feel the tears coming to her eyes. She was so happy Andy made it just in time for the wedding.
"Brian and Angel, I love you both. I wish you both love, happiness, laughter, and many years of pure joy. I don't have a glass but-" Ethan rushed up to her and gave her a champagne glass. The crowd laughed and she shook her head. She raised her glass, "Here's to the bride and groom. I can't wait to see what the future holds. To Angel and Brian!"
The crowd repeated her last words and she walked up to the table and put the microphone down. She started to back away but Angel stopped her. She got up and walked around the table and got off the stage. She rushed up to Andy and gave her a long hug.
"You have no idea how happy I am that you're here." She whispered. Andy smiled and gave her a squeeze.
"I told you I wouldn't miss this for the world." She whispered back. They stayed like that for a few more moments and pulled away. When they did she saw Brian and he pulled her in for a hug.
"We have a lot to catch up on. We leave the day after tomorrow, I wanna catch up on the past year. Angel and I have decided to take you to lunch tomorrow. We're not taking no for an answer." He said as he pulled away.
"That actually works out. So I can bring you the pictures and you two can go throug-" She didn't finish because Angel grabbed a hold of her hand.
"Andrea! The pictures can wait. We want to spend time with YOU! Not your job."
Andy sighed and nodded, "Okay, okay, let me know. I think Ethan and Alex are taking Shey and I out tonight for a drink. Let me know what time to meet up."
"Hey we'll join you guys. Be like an after party. Let's go to Chez's." Brian suggested.
"Okay just hit up Ethan and we'll all go." She said.
"Where are you going to be staying?" Angel asked and before Andy could answer Alex announced that it was time for the first dance. Andy smiled and started to back away to get her camera ready. Brian took Angel's hand but she looked back at Andy a pointed, "We're not done!"
Andy laughed and started to take pictures. That's when Shey came up to her and whispered in her ear. Andy looked up and smiled. She nodded and gave Shey's arm a gentle squeeze. Andy walked off the dance floor and over to the table were Cathy, Tim, and David were sitting. She came up to them and took a seat next to Cathy who smiled really big and touched her cheek.
"Andy sweetheart, you look tired, and skinny. Here eat something," she said putting a plate of food in front of her. Andy chuckled and shook her head.
"I'm okay Cathy, thank you. I have a lot to do, but I didn't want to leave here today and not spend some time with you."
"How are your folks?" Tim asked with a smile.
"They're good. Their anniversary is coming up in September. Gonna try and be there for it. Thirty two years they've been married."
"Oh, honey we should fly down and surprise them. When is their anniversary?" Cathy asked.
Andy picked up a knife and fork. The aroma of the food was too amazing, and she didn't realize how hungry she was. She knew Cathy was giving her an amusing look.
"September second." She said and took a small bite of her food.
"Oh around Labor Day Weekend, I'm sure we can work something out." Tim said with a smile. David leaned on the table and really looked at Andy.
"I can't believe you're here. We haven't heard or seen you in a long time. What's been going on?" David asked.
Andy finished off the plate and wiped her mouth with a napkin. After a moment she looked up at David, "I gotta call after our camp out saying I had to get to the airport that night. Paramore's team saw my photos of PVRIS and they got a hold of me through Melissa. Didn't have time to say bye to everyone. I had to pack and I wrote each of you a letter explaining. After that tour ended, I was off on another tour with another band, and another band. Some of the stops I was able to see my family. In Virginia and in Georgia.
Then, I was off overseas for the last seven months. I was able to go to Georgia again about three weeks ago. I haven't stopped. It just kept going and going. My days were running together and next thing I knew I'm getting a message from Angel, Brian, Alex, you, asking if I was coming to this past camp out. I checked my schedule and I had to be in Seattle. I couldn't make it. I felt terrible. We made a pact and I ended up breaking my end."
"What's going on with you and Lynn? Are you two together or not?" He asked. Andy wanted to tell him. Cathy and Tim exchanged knowing looks making sure David didn't see.
"How are you and Kara?" Andy asked taking a sip of her drink. David sat back in his seat and shook his head.
"We're taking some time apart right now. She's busy with work, I've been busy with my stuff. We couldn't find a way to spend time together. We talked about moving in together, but we got into this huge fight. But I'm hoping to work things out. Just like you said in your speech, people fight for love and I wanna do that. I just don't know if she wants to." David sighed.
Andy nodded, "Have you done anything to show it?"
David nodded, "I've asked her out for coffee, dinner, lunch, or breakfast, but she turns me down."
"What about courting?" She asked leaning on the table.
"Oooo, that's what Tim did with me." Cathy said with a small chuckle and took Tim's hand in hers.
"You mentioned that. What does that entail?" He asked and Andy smiled. She began to explain what she would do when she courted a girl.
Lynn looked over at the table and smiled seeing Andy talking with her family. She still couldn't believe she was here. It looked like Andy and David were having an intense conversation. She watched Andy explain something to David and she couldn't help but chuckle at the way Andy was moving her hands. When Andy got excited or serious about something she tends to talk with her hands. One of the quirks that Lynn had to learn to get used to a while ago.
She really looked at Andy and could tell she's lost some weight. She also noticed that she looked a little different. Her cheeks were sunken in, her eyes seemed tired, and she seemed to be more out of breath than usual. That brought her back to when they were in Ireland and she couldn't catch her breath because of her heart, and her lung. They actually had to go back to the hospital the next day, because Andy's breathing became labored to the point where Lynn thought she was going to pass out.
Andy had to stay in the hospital for another three days, just to make sure she was okay. When she was able to leave, the two of them went back to the hotel and made a decision for their future. She smiled remembering their conversation. She was brought out of her thoughts when the waiter came up to her and offered her champagne. She politely declined. Angel was on the dance floor but saw Lynn turn down the young waiter. She walked up to the stage and went to sit down next to Lynn.
"Okay seriously, what's going on? Last night I didn't see you drink a drop of alcohol. What gives?" She asked slurring some of her words.
Lynn smiled, "Well someone had to be sober last night to make sure everyone got home safe. As maid of honor it's my duty to make sure nothing gets out of control."
Angel raised her glass, "I can't argue with that." Lynn smiled when she heard her phone chime. She checked and read the text message.
"I'll be right back." She said and stood up. She walked out of the reception area and walked down the hallway.
Her phone chimed again and she read the message. She looked up and found the door she was supposed to go to. She looked around making sure no one saw her. She slowly opened the door and walked in. She turned on the light and saw that she was in the storage closet. Her phone chimed again and she read the instructions. She turned off the light and put her back to the door. She put her phone down on the shelf and waited.
It wasn't long until she heard the door softly open and close. She heard the click of the lock and closed her eyes. Footsteps fell softly behind her and she felt someone softly touch her bare shoulder. She let out a small breath keeping her eyes closed. The fingers were gone and then she felt something over her eyes. She wanted to giggle and shake her head, but the text messages were very specific. When the blind fold was on and tied she wanted to turn around. The other person must have known because she felt hands on her hips keeping her still.
They moved her loose hair away from the back of her neck and she felt soft lips touch her bare skin. The arms wrapped around her pulling her close. They stood like that for a moment and then Lynn felt her dress slowly being pulled up. She left her head fall back on the person's shoulders trying to control her breathing. She dreamed about something like this. Andy had opened her eyes to a lot of new things to keep their sex life spiced up.
She gripped the person's hand lacing their fingers together. She turned her head wanting to feel their lips on hers but she remembered the rules. She felt fingers softly on her bare stomach and they slowly made their way into her underwear. She brought up her other hand and gripped the back of the person's head and pulled their hair. She heard a moan and pulled hard when she felt a finger on her clit.
She leaned more into the person and let out a moan. She couldn't believe this was happening. She wanted something like this for so long, she thought she was dreaming. The rhythm started to speed up. She wanted more and then she felt a finger slip inside her. After a few minutes of setting the tempo she felt another finger and she gripped their hand even tighter. She bit her lip and then took in a deep breath.
"OH GOD!" She called out. The fingers moved in and out of her at a steady pace and she tightened up.
"Let go," they whispered. They kissed her neck and Lynn softly called out Andy's name. After she climaxed the fingers disappeared and the person held her until she was able to stand on her own. With one more soft kiss on her neck they slowly let go of her. They untied the blind fold and took it off of her.
Lynn heard footsteps, then the unlocking of the door. When she heard the door close her phone chimed. She caught her breath and read the message. She smiled and sent a reply back. She had to get to the bathroom to fix herself up. She left the storage closet and went to find the bathroom. She was still in a daze that her fantasy came true. Sure it was a weird one, but it was something she always wanted to do. She found the bathroom and went to the mirror to straighten herself out.
That's when she noticed a small spot on her neck. Melissa came out of a stall and saw the state that Lynn was in. She smiled and shook her head, "Come here, let's get you right before you get back out there." She started to go there her small purse looking for some cover up.
"So, I bet you feel ten times better now." She said with a smirk and started to help Lynn cover up her hickey. Lynn shook her head and smiled. Melissa didn't need her to say a word. She knew what was going on. She also kept her promise.
The two left the bathroom and walked back into the reception area. Lynn looked over at the table and saw Brian, Angel, and Andy talking. Andy was holding Angel's hands and from the look on Andy's face she knew she was apologizing for something. Brian gave Andy's arm a gentle squeeze and gave her a nod. She hugged them both and she rushed out. Ethan and Wendy weren't too far behind.
Andy was outside on her phone, "Can't they get someone else? I made a promise and I intend to keep it. I've been on the go for the past year and a half. I need a break."
Ethan, and Wendy were joined by Alex and Justin. They all stood by the entrance watching Andy pace back and forth. They could hear her voice breaking.
"I understand that, but I'm so exhausted. I just need some down time. I've missed out on so much. Why does it always have to be me?" She asked into her phone and she tried to catch her breath to not let out a sob.
Ethan made a move to walk up to her but Wendy stopped him. He looked at her and she shook her head. He sighed and looked back at Andy. She was sitting on one of the benches hunched over still on her phone.
"Please I'm begging you." She said softly, letting the tears fall. Melissa came outside with Shey, Lynn, Brian, and Angel.
"I need to talk to all of you." She said, she followed their gaze and saw Andy. She could tell something was wrong, but what she had to tell them was important. She got in front of them and led them back inside. When they were all inside she smiled.
"So I will cover for all of you but right now there's a couple of cars waiting to take all of you somewhere. It's a surprise, but you have to leave now through the back door. Come on." She said and started to walk briskly. Everyone looked at her confused and started to follow. Once they reached the back door she opened it.
"Don't worry about your cars they'll all be delivered to your location. Ethan here's the key, everything is set up. I can't say anymore. Right now you need to go."
Angel was about to ask something but Melissa shook her head, "GO! NOW!" She rushed back inside and the friends got into the two black SUVs. When everyone was loaded into the SUVs, the drivers started to drive away.
"What's going on?" Ethan asked the driver who just smiled.
Meanwhile Andy got off her phone and wiped her tears away, just as black limousine pulled up, "Get in," she heard. She stood up and straightened herself out. She got into the limo and she saw her agent sitting across from her.
When Andy got comfortable her agent looked at her and gave her a comforting smile. She really looked at Andy and felt really guilty for putting her through a tough year. Her blue eyes were full of sympathy, but she had a grand surprise for her.
"Andy are you all right?" She finally asked.
Andy was looking out the window fighting back the tears. She took in a deep breath still looking out the window and let it out, "I just don't understand why I have to be the one to do this Serenity. I've barely seen my family, my friends, and her. I'm glad I get to travel, but like I told you over the phone, I need a break. Everyone's saying I look drained, and I keep coming up with excuse after excuse. I'm exhausted and my doctor even says I need to slow down."
Serenity nodded and tucked back her light brown hair, "I know Andy, I'm so sorry. But you're on high demand. People want you. You're the A list photographer and the entire world loves your work. I'm trying to find you time off. I know you need it. But just do this one last gig and I promise you, you'll be able to take as much time as you need."
"Shey's just as good as me! Why can't you use her?! I know she could use the gigs." Andy angrily wiped away a tear that escaped.
Serenity sighed and looked down at her phone and smiled, "Well this last gig won't take too long I promise. We're almost at the site. Also I have a surprise for you."
Andy looked at her with a confused look. She rubbed her face with her hands and let out a sigh, "A surprise? The last time you told me this, I was on tour with Jesse McCartney. When I thought I was going home for a while."
The limo stopped and her agent just smiled, "We're here. Take a look."
Andy looked out of the window and then back at the other woman with a shocked expression, "What are we doing here?"
She chuckled, "Get out and I'll explain."
Andy opened the door and got out of the limo. She stepped onto the sidewalk and looked up at the townhouse she spent her first Christmas in Boston nearly three years ago. Serenity stepped out of the limo and stood next to her.
"I tracked down the owners and bought out this place. From the stories you've told me about it, I knew it held a special place in your heart. The owners were tough, but we were able to meet a price." She held out a key and Andy turned to look at her.
"It's all yours. Anytime you come to Boston, you won't have to stay in a hotel. You have a place to call home. But it doesn't end there." She stepped behind Andy. She took out a blind fold from her pocket and put it over Andy's eyes. When she had it placed and tied she stepped in front of her and took her hands.
She started to guide her towards the steps and directed her. When they reached the door she took the key and opened the door. She guided her in and closed the door behind her. She smiled and put her finger to her lips telling everyone to be quiet. She guided Andy again, when she had her where she wanted her. She quickly went to the front of the room.
"Okay go ahead and take it off." She said.
When she did she was greeted by a loud, "SURPRISE!"
She took a step back and grabbed her chest. She gave a weak smile, but tried to catch her breath. She held up her finger, as Serenity rushed up to her, "Shit, sorry, I forgot." She said taking out a prescription bottle. She opened it and gave a small pill to Andy.
After a few moments Andy calmed down and nodded her head. Serenity smiled and put her arm around her. Andy looked at all her friends standing there and she could fill her eyes fill up with fresh tears.
"Okay, I have ONE more surprise, and I wanted all your friends to be here to hear this."
She walked to the front of the room and smiled, "I know I've been hogging Andy for a long time."
"Damn right you have!" Ethan said.
"SHUT UP ETHAN!" Everyone said and they all laughed.
"That doesn't get old." Andy said with a chuckle and winked at Ethan.
"I actually planned this for the last six months. I wanted to give Andy something as a reward for all her hard work, and for her being away from everyone she cares about. When I heard her talk about this place I knew I had to do something. So, I bought this townhouse for Andy and she could use this as her home, instead of staying in another hotel the next time she was in town."
She paused and looked around the room, she smiled at everyone and she let out a happy sigh, "Now the real reason I bought this for Andy is because. I wanted to tell her also, I'm giving her as much time off as she needs to relax."
Everyone looked at her with confused and shocked looks.
"Okay so when you say, as much time off, what are we talking?" Angel asked.
"I didn't realize Andy was a hard worker. All I knew was that she was an amazing photographer and musician. But I did a little research and I heard from Melissa who relayed some stories to me from all of you that Andy is a non stop person that doesn't know how to relax."
"Tell me about it." Shey chimed in and everyone chuckled.
"I noticed her being exhausted about five months into her traveling. She kept telling me it was because she was on a long flight, or she had a late night. But I knew better. She always met her deadlines, and she was always on time, sometimes even early. I even told her to take some time off. Even if it was only for a day, but she refused."
At this point everyone looked at Andy and she looked back at them and shrugged, "What?! I wanted to keep my job." They all rolled their eyes and turned their attention back to Serenity.
"So Andy, I hereby declare you on paid vacation until further notice. I will be in touch in case anything comes up, you've been on vacation the second you landed in Boston."
"Well what about-" Andy started to say, but Serenity held up her hand and looked at Shey.
"Shey, how would you feel about taking on some more gigs?"
Shey's eyes went wide and looked at her, "Are you serious?"
Serenity nodded, "Andy was right on picking you as her assistant, you have a talent, and I would like to get your name out there more."
"I don't know what to say." She said her eyes filling with happy tears.
"The only thing Andy has to do is make an appearance at The International Photography Awards in London. Which is going to be in about four months. She's nominated in six categories."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, what?" Andy asked still trying to take everything in.
"Guess I'm just full of surprises today. So Shey, I'll let you know when we're ready for you. I'm giving you off until November. Paid of course. Since it's almost September and Andy's birthday is coming up. Which Andy by the way I would love to come to your birthday party."
"Oh, I'm already planning." Wendy said with a smile.
"I have to catch a flight, but Andy, you're on vacation, Shey, I will contact you and tell you where you have to go. We’ve also had clothes brought over for everyone in case you all decide to stay the night. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll leave you all to catch up." She smiled at everyone then gave Shey and Andy a hug. When she was about to leave Ethan came up to her.
"Thank you for this." He said with a smile and pulled her in for a hug. When they pulled away Serenity gave him a smile.
"Oh, here's her medicine. It changed last year. She's still having stomach problems, but also I think you, her, and Wendy need to have a private conversation about her heart. Take care of her." She said giving him Andy's medicine and then she was out the door.
"Always have. Thank you for taking care of her." He smiled and watched her get into the limo and they both waved. When the limo pulled away Ethan closed the door and looked around the room. "Where's Andy?"
"She went upstairs. She mentioned that she wanted to see the old room." Justin said. Ethan thanked him and rushed up the stairs. He reached the top and saw Andy standing in the doorway of the room she called home for two weeks. He watched her slowly walk in and he started to walk towards the room.
He leaned against the door frame and watched her take in the room. She took off her camera and set it gently on the nightstand. She started to loosen her tye and she put her hands in her pockets. It was like she was in a time capsule. Nothing seemed to have changed in the room. Everything seemed to be exactly as she left it. She went over to the closet and opened it. She let out a small chuckle when she saw the two bats her and Ethan used that night they met Melissa for the first time. She grabbed one of them and held in her hands.
"That was a scary night." Ethan said making Andy jump a little. She looked at her best friend and smiled.
"Yeah, it was. I can't believe nothing's changed."
Ethan nodded taking a step inside her room, "I actually ran into the owners a while back. They said since us, they haven't been able to rent it out since."
Andy's eyes widened, "Really? Why?"
Ethan shrugged, "I don't know. They mentioned that some people just seemed sketchy or something. They didn't mention someone put up an offer to buy. They actually hoped we would buy it."
Andy sat on the bed still holding the bat, "What am I going to do now?"
"What do you mean?" Ethan asked sitting next to her.
"Well, you know me. I'm so used to working and now that I'm on this vacation, I'm not sure what to do with myself."
Ethan sighed and put his arm around her, "Well I know one thing you can do." He said leaning back grabbing a pillow.
"Yeah, what's that?" Andy said looking at the bat not paying attention.
Ethan stood up and grabbed the pillow, "You learn how to have fun again," he said and smacked her with the pillow. She dropped the bat and fell back on the bed.
"You fucking asshole!" She said and grabbed the other pillow and was able to get a hit in.
Ethan laughed, "Let's go bitch!" He said and smacked her again.
"You wanna get bitch slapped motherfucker?!" She laughed and he hit her again.
"This is payback for that one night!" He hit her again.
"Oh that's it!" She took off her tie and raised the pillow. Ethan's eyes widened and he let out a little scream and started to run out of the room.
"YOU BETTER RUN MOTHERFUCKER! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THE SECRET HALLWAY!" She yelled chasing after him.
"OH FUCK YOU!" He yelled running down the stairs with Andy close behind. Everyone stared at them with confused looks. Ethan ran into the kitchen and Andy followed him. They had each got some hits in and Ethan ran towards the living room.
Ethan and Andy forgot about everyone else during their pillow fight. Everyone backed away from them not knowing what to do. The two got so carried away that Ethan ended up whacking Angel with his pillow.
The two stopped and looked at her with scared expressions, "Oh my God! Angel I'm so sorry!" He said putting down the pillow and put his hand in front of her. She held up her hand and shook her head. Next thing Ethan knew Brian came up behind him and hit him with a pillow.
"Oh! IT'S ON!" Ethan yelled.
"PILLOW FIGHT!!!" Andy yelled standing on the couch. Everyone scrambled to find a pillow and the town home was filled with laughter. They were all together again and they wouldn't want it any other way.
*********************************************************************
"Andy! You have been avoiding this whole thing!" Brian said as he watched down another shot.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." She said with a laugh.
After their group pillow fight they were all out of breath and that's when Ethan said they should all change and head to Chez's. Just to continue the celebration for Angel and Brian. Everyone agreed. Then Angel made a point asking where the clothes were. Andy said they could be in the rooms.
They all checked the rooms, and in the spare room down stairs there were back packs with their names on them. They each opened them and sure enough clothes were in each bag. It didn't take long for everyone to change and get ready. When they were Wendy asked about their cars. Not as soon as she said that there was a knock on their door. Ethan went to the front door and noticed there was a peep hole. Last time he was here there wasn't one.
The previous owners must have took his suggestion to heart. He looked through the peep hole and saw Melissa, and Kara. He opened the door and smiled. He invited them in, but they said they just came to drop off their car keys. They gave him the keys and rushed away. He smiled and shook his head.
He came into the living room with everyone's keys and they all laughed. There was another knock at the door and Andy answered it. This time it was David. She invited him in and he told them that Melissa told him to meet them. After they all talked for a few more minutes it was decided for them to get a taxi instead of driving. Since they all planned to drink.
Lynn kinda stayed in the background not wanting to give them a reason for them to suspect something. Alex made the call and two taxi vans showed up about ten minutes later. They all piled in and they were at Chez's. The first thing Alex did was order shots of Fireball for everyone. But Lynn had to figure out how to take the shot.
Shey noticed and walked up to her. She whispered in her ear and Lynn smiled giving her the shot glass. Shey gave her a gentle squeeze on her arm and smiled.
Now it seemed they all branched off. The women were on one side of the bar, and the guys along with Andy were on the other side.
"Wendy! Seriously, your sister seems to hang out with the guys more! Why is that?!" Angel asked sipping her drink.
Wendy shrugged, "She just gets along with them. Growing up she was really into sports and just had a lot of guy friends. Girls in high school were so jealous of her because of that. She just became one of the guys." She chuckled, "She always said she has the mentality of a guy. There was a point in her life where she wanted to transition."
Angel and Lynn looked at her with wide eyes. Shey sipped her drink and nodded, "I remember her telling me this."
"Let me explain." She said taking a quick sip of her drink, "She said she didn't feel comfortable in her body. Of course, I cried, because she's my sister and my best friend. But I told her that I wanted her to be happy. She called me a few weeks later and said that she would make a deal with herself. She would wait five years, and if she wasn't comfortable after five years she would go through with it."
"How long has it been?" Lynn asked.
"That was eight years ago."
That's when they all looked over at where the guys were and saw them laughing and then taking another shot.
"You can't keep avoiding this forever." Justin said with a smile. Andy shrugged and sipped her drink.
"You guys know what happened."
"No, we really don't. You two fought, then you were in the hospital like twice. Then, you two were good. You left, the letters didn't really explain anything. Plus, the two of you were off somewhere for like six months. That's the part we're missing." Alex said.
"How's it living with Ethan? Are you used to his twenty minute bathroom dumps?!" Andy asked and they all laughed. Alex couldn't help but smile.
"I gotta be honest I got worried the first few weeks."
"How are you not drunk yet?! Come on this is your kryptonite! What happened?!" Brian asked and Andy shrugged.
"I guess my tolerance went up."
"Okay, okay, look we have a lot to celebrate. First of all Brian getting married!" David said standing up and they all stood up and cheered.
"Also, it's good to have Andy back, even if it's for a short time."
"Oh! You don't know!" Ethan said and David looked at them confused. Ethan put his arm around David's shoulders and smiled, "Andy here is on paid vacation until further notice." David put down his drink and rushed up to Andy and picked her up.
"YES!" He put her down and gave her a tight hug.
"Oh and that townhome. Andy's agent bought for her." Ethan added.
"DUDE WHAT?!" David said loudly and everyone nodded. "Next round is on me!" They all cheered and laughed.
The women saw the exchange and shook their heads, "I can't believe she's back." Angel said smiling.
"What happened with you two? Like those six months you two were just gone?"
Lynn stood up, "I want to propose a toast to Angel." Angel looked at her best friend and smiled.
"Tonight is all about you and I hope you have a fun and safe honeymoon. You and Brian are so right for each other, sometimes I forget how different you two are. But all the same you balance each other out. I love you and I can't wait to hear all about Hawaii!" They all stood up and clinked their glasses together. Angel gave Lynn a tight hug and told her thank you. They sat back down and heard the guys and Andy cheer again.
"Okay that's it we're going over there!" Angel said grabbing Lynn's hand. Shey and Wendy followed. When they reached the others, they made room and they all sat down. Angel made it a point for Lynn and Andy to sit together, but Andy excused herself to go to the bathroom.
They all watched her leave and looked at Lynn who smiled at them, "What?"
"You two have been acting really weird. It's like she doesn't want to be around you or anything. It's honestly making me uncomfortable." Angel said.
"Guys, look, we need to stop making this about Andy and me. This is all about Brian and Angel. Now can we please just stop talking about us and focus on the both of you." Lynn asked with a sigh. Wendy took her hand and smiled.
"I agree with Lynn. We all want to know what's going on, BUT we do have to take the focus off of my sister. Let her relax. She's been non stop and she's back for a while. So let's continue to celebrate Brian and Angel and we'll focus on everything else later."
Everyone agreed and when Andy came back, Wendy moved to sit next to Lynn and Andy took her spot. But as soon as she sat down a song came on and Wendy stood up grabbing Andy's hand, "Oh GOD!" Andy said as her sister dragged her to the dance floor.
"You guys have got to see this dance it's so awesome!" Shey said grabbing Lynn and Alex's hands. They all stood up and went to the dance floor and watched as Andy and Wendy began to dance to the song.
"WOW! I didn't even know there was a dance to this!" Brian said.
"There wasn't but a few years ago Wendy's fiance at the time showed it to them and it took off. Now back home everyone does it." Shey explained watching her two best friends.
"I've got to try this!" Brian said jumping in. He touched Andy on her shoulder and she began to teach him. They all laughed when he got confused on one of the turns, but he eventually caught on. Angel joined them too. Right after her Shey jumped in and so did Alex, David and Justin.
"Aren't you going to join?" Lynn asked Ethan.
He shook his head, "Naw, I'm more of a watcher, plus I tried fell. Told myself I'd never do it again." He laughed and looked at her, "What about you?"
She shook her head, "Not much of a dancer. Especially not to this, and what they're doing looks kinda hard. Even the kick and the turn. Not sure how that works."
He nodded, "That's when I fell, my big ass feet couldn't handle it."
They both laughed and this time he really looked at her, "I'm really happy she's back. What about you?"
Lynn nodded, "Me too."
The night went on with everyone laughing, drinking, having a good time. They all listened to Angel talking about what they had planned in Hawaii and how everything was planned out. Brian said they would have to schedule a bedroom tumble and she playfully hit them. Andy offered to get the next round, but Alex stopped her. He ordered it and she asked if he was sure. He gave her a wink and nodded.
Andy thanked him and she sat down. She heard her phone chime and she looked at the text message.
"I'm glad you're home"
"Me too. We'll talk soon. Promise."
She put her phone down. She figured everyone would be staying at her place. Her place, she couldn't believe it. Maybe she and Ethan should give the house in Georgia to Brandon, but then she thought that it would work out every time she went there, she had a place to stay. So that way she wasn't staying at her Uncle's. Since Ethan was up here with Alex, and she now has a place here. She wasn't sure what to do. She may actually move to Georgia, and use the townhouse as her get away. Right now she wouldn't mind spending some time in Boston.
She was brought out of her thoughts when Alex came back with everyone's drink. Shey had been helping Lynn all night with her drinks. When someone would put an alcoholic drink in front of Lynn, Shey would excuse herself saying she either had a call, or go to the bathroom. She would come back with a drink looking similar to the one Lynn had but with no alcohol.
Earlier in the night she told Lynn that Andy kind of spilled the beans about what she was going through. At first Lynn was a little upset but she understood. Andy needed someone to talk to and Shey was mostly there. That was another thing Lynn was worried about. Andy and Shey. Everyone kept saying that they were best friends, but she still couldn't help but think the two had this chemistry. But since Andy accepted her friends, she wanted to accept Andy's friends.
Before they knew it the bar lights came on and they had to finish their drinks. Alex called for the taxis again and they all waited for them to arrive. They all thanked the bartenders and left. They piled into the taxis and headed back to the townhouse. Andy suggested everyone stay at the townhouse since they've all been drinking and she didn't want anyone driving.
Shey made the remark of her always being the parent of the group. They laughed when the taxi driver pulled up behind the other one. Andy went for her wallet but Shey stopped her. Andy made the remark of people always paying for her. When they got out of the taxis Andy rushed up the steps and stopped everyone. She announced that tomorrow she would cook dinner for everyone.
When they started to refuse she stopped them and said that it was the least she could do for all of them for today. She also felt bad for taking the attention away from Brian and Angel. The two waved her off telling her that her being here was enough. She insisted and said she wouldn't let them in unless they agreed. They all did and she smiled. She opened the door to the town house and everyone piled in.
Ethan suggested they change into their pajamas, and before they all decide to go to bed they could watch a movie. Andy checked the spare room and walked out with backpacks.
"There's like two more for each of us. It's like they knew all of us were gonna be here." She said and started to hand out the back packs. Everyone had one but David.
"What about David?" Brian asked. David smiled and walked out of the front door. After a few moments he came back with his own overnight bag and smiled.
"Melissa told me to bring some clothes just in case." They all chuckled and started to scatter so they could change. On instinct Ethan and Andy went upstairs and went to the rooms they once occupied. Brian and Angel followed them and went to the other spare bedroom.
"I love how everything is still the same." Andy heard Angel say as they passed her room. She smiled and changed into her sweat pants and sleeveless shirt. She was putting on her socks when she heard a small knock on her door. She looked and laughed when she saw Ethan wearing pretty much the exact same thing she was.
"It's like they know us." She said with a laugh and he joined her in laughter. When she was ready they both went down stairs and made a beeline for the kitchen.
"Fucking drunk munchies." Andy said looking in the cabinets. She actually surprised everything was stocked up. She found the popcorn and Ethan was looking through the spices.
"You two just can't seem to get away from the kitchen." Brian said with a smile walking in and sat down on one of the chairs at the counter bar.
Andy smiled and hit the popcorn button on the microwave, "Yeah, well ya know, once a line cook-"
"Always a line cook." Both Ethan and Andy said together. They fist bumped and Andy turned back to the counter getting more bags ready.
"Ethan's famous popcorn." They heard and turned and saw Justin walking with a smile stopping to stand next to Brian.
"I think today was one of the best days ever." He said and they all agreed.
Everyone else was in the living room smiling at the interaction going on in the kitchen. Seeing Ethan and Andy back in the kitchen brought back memories for the four of them.
"Is it me or did Andy's arms get more toned?" Angel asked.
"Oh yeah, Andy made sure she worked out at least three times a week. Even if it was in her hotel rooms or during photo shoots." Shey explained getting up and walking towards the kitchen. She worked her way between Andy and Ethan to get to the fridge. She started to grab some sodas, and water. Justin went over to her and started to help her out.
The two came back into the living room and put the drinks on the table. They all could smell the popcorn and they couldn't wait. Brian joined everyone and sat next to Angel. He put his arm around her and kissed her forehead.
"Today was a good day." He said and she moved closer to him and nodded.
"Best day ever. We got married and our friend came back." They both looked in the kitchen and Brian smiled. Today was one of the best days he's ever had.
Andy walked into the living room and picked up the remote off of the table. She turned on the TV and started to search for the movie channels. When she found one she turned to Angel and Brian.
"In honor of you wedding day, you two get to pick the movie." She said with a smile and gave them the remote. Angel took it and smiled. Andy left to go back to the kitchen to help Ethan bring out the popcorn.
"It's like we never left this place." Lynn said. Alex, Angel, Brian, and David agreed. The only difference was having Justin, Wendy, and Shey with them. Ethan and Andy started to bring out bowls of popcorn and handed them out to everyone. Brian let Angel pick the movie and it started just as Andy sat down in one of the chairs. The beginning credits began to show on the screen and Ethan stood up to turn down the lights. They all got comfortable and the only sounds were the sounds of the movie and everyone crunching on their popcorn.
Andy jerked awake and looked around. The TV was still on a different movie was on. She rubbed her face in her hands she let her eyes adjust to the dark. Everyone must have fallen asleep at some point. She smiled and shook her head. She quietly got up and went towards the spare bedroom. She turned on the light and went to the closet. She remembered there were some blankets in there. She grabbed a couple and walked out of the spare room. When she walked out of the room she couldn't help but want to take a picture.
The glow of the TV light helped her out since she didn't want to use her flash. She took out her phone and took a few steps closer. She snapped a couple of pictures and shared them on her profile. She captioned the photos saying it was good to be home. She put her phone back in her pocket and began to cover her friends with blankets. She didn't want to be the one only to sleep in her room.
She grabbed a pillow and found a spot on the floor. She watched the movie for a few more minutes and she drifted off to sleep. Tonight would the most restful night she had in a very long time.
********************************************************************
"Alex, you wake my sister up, I will punch you into next week!" Wendy said looking at him.
"But I miss her coffee!"
"I don't care! She needs her sleep!"
Everyone woke up one by one. All were confused as to why they were waking up in the living room and with blankets. They didn't know just how tired they all were, after all the events of the day before.
Ethan was the first one up and he looked at his watch. It was only nine and he decided to get up and make everyone some breakfast. He slowly got up and walked to the kitchen to see what they had. He smiled when he saw the pancake mix. He closed the kitchen door and went straight to work. It wasn't long until he was joined by Shey, then Justin. David stumbled in right after.
Twenty minutes later Alex woke up confused and he heard voices in the kitchen. Lynn woke up and the two of them join everyone in the kitchen. Not too soon after Wendy, Brian, and Angel joined them as well. Alex started to help Ethan with breakfast, Shey started to set the table, and Justin started to make coffee for everyone. That's when Alex started to talk about Andy's coffee.
Everybody said that they missed it and they hoped that she would make it at some point while everyone was still here.
"Alex, Wendy has a point. Let Andy sleep. I'm sure she hasn't gotten a restful sleep in a while." Brian said and Alex sighed. He knew they were right. Andy really did need her sleep.
"You think she'll wake up to breakfast?" Angel asked finding some orange juice.
"Shit that reminds me." Ethan said giving the spatula to Alex. He rushed out of the kitchen and went up the stairs to check the bathroom. He looked around and sighed with relief when he saw brand new tooth brushes and tubes of tooth paste on the counter. He went back down stairs and looked at Andy on the floor. He smiled at his best friend, glad that she was getting some rest.
He walked back into the kitchen and caught Justin's attention. He came over to him, "Can you help me get Andy to the couch?" He asked and Justin nodded.
The two walked over to Andy and positioned themselves. Ethan was by her head and Justin by her feet. Ethan mouthed a small count and they lifted her. They gently moved her to the couch and she moved. They both stopped and stood still for a moment hoping they didn't wake her up. When she didn't they both nodded and made her comfortable. After she was settled Ethan gave Justin a thank you smile and he gave him a thumbs up. Justin went back to the kitchen and Ethan brushed a stray hair from Andy's forehead. He leaned in and kissed her temple. He stood up and went back into the kitchen. He closed the sliding door behind him and went up to Alex and relieved him of his pancake duties.
"Why did you rush off?" Justin asked.
Ethan turned to everyone, "We all know Andy pretty well. What's the first thing she does when she wakes up?"
"Brush her teeth." They all answered at once and began to laugh loudly. But Ethan quieted them down when he thought he saw movement from the couch. He looked again and didn't see anything.
"You know, maybe we should leave the door cracked a little. Just in case she has a nightmare." Lynn suggested.
"Good idea." Alex said walking over to the sliding door and cracked it a little bit.
"Okay we have pancakes, hash browns, and bacon. Plates please." He said with a smile and Justin began to hand him plate after plate.
Ethan filled up the plates, and Brian found the syrup and butter.
"I didn't think this place would be stocked." He said walking over to the table.
"They must have done it a few days ago. That's the only explanation." Justin said putting down plates in front of one of the one at a time.
"Do you think they cleared out the attic?" Lynn asked sitting down.
"Good question. Maybe we could check it out later." Angel said.
"What's in the attic?" Shey asked pouring a glass of orange juice and passed it down.
"Ethan and Andy discovered this secret hallway in this house. They found a basement and an attic. We actually had a Nerf gun fight after they found it. There's like three secret doorways to get to them. One in the upstairs closet. One in the spare room downstairs. One in the pantry." David explained passing out napkins for everyone.
Everyone got settled at the table and Alex brought over plates of the leftover pancakes, hash browns, and bacon just in case anyone wanted seconds. Ethan noticed no one sitting at the head of the table and he shook his head with a smile.
"What?" Wendy asked cutting up her pancakes.
"You know how every time we go out Andy is always at the head of the table?" He asked and everybody nodded.
"Well, I've noticed that when we had our get together's we've seemed to leave the head of the table vacant."
"I have noticed that." Angel said taking a bite of her hash brown.
"Is it like reserved for her or something?" Shey asked.
They all shook their heads and shrugged.
"I guess we just got used to her being there, no one really took her spot." Brian said.
They heard a thud and then a scream, "GET AWAY!" it was Andy's voice. Ethan jumped up from the table followed closely by Shey, and Wendy.
Andy was on the floor getting tangled in the blanket, "LEAVE ME ALONE!" She yelled.
Ethan kneeled down and started to speak softly to her. He touched her cheek and Shey was trying to get the blanket away from her.
"Andy, it's okay, come back." Ethan said softly over and over again. She started to calm down, but she kept her eyes closed. When she was calm, he looked up at Wendy and Shey. They just nodded and helped him put Andy back on the couch.
They stood over her for a moment and when she didn't wake up they went back to the kitchen. Lynn was standing by the door with her arms wrapped around herself. Wendy gave her a small smile and put her arms around her, "She's fine. It wasn't a bad one." She reassured her.
Lynn nodded and Wendy led her back to the table. They all sat back down and continued to eat their breakfast. They were glad Andy was back, but they didn't know she was still having nightmares.
"She must have been so scared." Lynn said quietly.
"What was that?" Justin asked.
Lynn shook her head, "I was just thinking while she was on the road, who was there to calm her down with her nightmares. She must have been so scared not having anyone."
They nodded and agreed, "Well she's back now and I'm sure we'll be able to help her come back to us. Like we always do." Ethan gave Lynn a smile which she returned.
Wendy set a plate aside for Andy for when she wakes up and she would want something to eat. Everyone pitched in to clean up the kitchen and they started to talk about what they wanted to do for the day. Angel suggested they wait for Andy to wake up and she could decide. Brian then said that at some point they still had to pack for Hawaii.
Angel waved him off saying that she already packed for them yesterday. They continued to have a conversation. When the kitchen was done they ventured back into the living room. Shey was the first to notice the empty couch.
"Andy?" She called out and everyone rushed over to her. They saw the empty couch and they started to look around. Ethan rushed up the stairs and heard running water coming from the bathroom and music playing.
He smiled as he went down the stairs, "She must be in the shower. There's music playing and the water is running."
Sighs of relief came from everyone. Then, they started to pick up the blankets and fold them. They put them in the downstairs spare room. Lynn heard the upstairs bathroom door open and saw Andy walk out. She looked refreshed but still tired. She knew they had to talk at some point. But she kept reminding herself what they agreed on.
They just had to wait until October to tell their friends everything. It was the end of August. Just one more month and their secrets would be revealed.
