‘So no matter how you look at it, I just can’t win. I hate myself for getting into this mess, I really do’ said Jade as she continued to lean into Jim’s warmth, feeling safe and looked after by him as she always did.
‘Well hating yourself won’t achieve anything, and you know..............he was a part of it too! He was the one low enough to go and cheat on his wife, the woman by all accounts he shouldn’t have married’ said Jim, opening the bus window and lighting a cigarette, blowing the smoke well away from Jade.

‘Lucky bastard, I need one of those more than anything right now’ grumbled Jade as she looked up at him.

‘I won’t tell if you won’t, a few puffs won’t matter either’ said Jim, passing his cigarette to Jade. She gratefully accepted and took a long drag, holding the smoke deep in her lungs and then taking another before passing it back to Jim and pulling a face as she felt her daughter kicking.

‘Nah, I can’t. It isn’t her fault her screwed up mother got herself into this mess’ said Jade. Jim just smiled sadly at her and held her hand, looking out of the window and seeing an up until now absent Corey boarding the bus.

‘Well fuck me I only went out for a burrito and I come back to find Jen and Chris together and you pregnant! What else is going to happen? Congratulations honey’ said Corey, bending down to give Jade a kiss and stroke her rounded stomach.

‘Hello in there little one, I’m your uncle Corey and I’ll be the one who lets you get up to mischief when your mom’s not looking’ he continued, kissing her bump and sitting down. It was then that he registered Jade’s not so happy face. When he questioned it she gave him the version of events that Jim had just been enlightened with, and after Corey just looked stunned and exhaled deeply.

‘You know you have to tell him don’t you? All this aside, there’s a kid involved now so he just has to know. You see then if he knows then it’s his choice whether to end his marriage or not, not yours. It’s not all your fault Jade, so please stop blaming yourself babe’ said Corey sympathetically. Jade nodded, his words actually managing to penetrate the blanket of self blame she had shrouded herself in. It really would be Stefan’s choice if she told him, but still she couldn’t help but think of poor Hilde in all of this. She was a lovely girl, so sweet and caring, so in love with Stefan it would rip her heart out to lose him. Just as it ripped Jade’s heart out every day as she felt her baby with the man she had never stop loving moving around inside her, with him completely out of the picture. She sat with her two friends and felt a little better after confiding in them, while over in a toilet cubicle to the side of the main stage two other people were confiding something in each other, to much more happy results too............

She giggled and kissed his neck, whispering ‘I love you too’ into his ear as she felt him hoisting her skirt up.

‘And damn you look even sexier with hair! Just like a rock version of Marilyn Monroe’ he said, running his fingers through her short peroxide enhanced curls. ‘And I’m sorry the location isn’t more romantic but...’ was all he managed before Jen interrupted him.

‘CHRIS JUST SHUT UP AND FUCK ME!’ She shouted, laughing louder as he picked her up, holding her steady with his hands on her ass as she wound her legs around his back and kissed him, feeling his tongue slide against hers at the same time his dick slid effortlessly inside her. They both moaned at the sensation of what they had wanted to feel for so many months, and then just enjoyed themselves, and to hell with the people forming a long queue
waiting for the toilet cubicle to become free, they could just wait.

Back in the cubicle Jen and Chris both came so hard they didn’t even care about being heard anymore, and just laughed shyly when they both came out from the cubicle and got a roaring round of applause, cat calls and wolf whistles coming from all directions. Chris just grabbed his girlfriends hand and walked out quickly, turning a little pink in the cheeks and escorting her back to the backstage bar area to sort her out with a well earned drink.

‘If you think that was well earned just wait until I give you head’ she whispered in his ear as he passed her a vodka and coke.

‘Hahahaha, DITTO!’ he replied, wrapping an arm around her waist and kissing her cheek, hardly able to wait for more alone time with her. Meanwhile seated just a little further away from them Jade sat talking to Jim and Joey, while Sid sat with his head rested on her bump talking to the baby.

‘If I’m ever in town and you need a babysitter just call me, I fucking love kids’ said Sid, before going back to telling the baby all about how great her mom was.

‘So have you thought of any names yet?’ asked Joey, laughing as Sid started tickling her tummy and shouting ‘COOCHIE COO!’ in a comic voice.

‘I’ve decided. Jamie Kay’ said Jade, to which all present nodded warmly and said ‘Awwww’.

‘Perfect’ said Sid as he nodded and stroked her bump. Jamie was for obvious reasons, and Kay was the name of her favourite aunt, her father’s sister. Kay couldn’t have been more touched when she told her of her plan to use her name as the babies middle one. And so the guys and girls relaxed backstage in the sun, with all nine of them fussing over Jade like mother hens until they left to go change and emerge fully basked and boiler suited up to take to the stage for their 6 o clock set. After the show they had all planned to party, but after being invited back to Jade’s house with the rest of the girls they decided against it, opting to spend the evening and day off afterwards with their friends as Jade’s ample ranch up past the Hollywood hills.

‘Dude! That car is gorgeous! I actually wanna hump the exhaust’ said Craig as they pulled up in Jen’s truck and he caught sight of the black Ferrari on the drive. It, along with $4.5 million had been left to her by her beloved uncle Jamie, whose wealth had been left solely to his nieces and nephew since he had no children of his own, leaving the four of them (Jade, Marco, Rachel and their cousin Alicia) very well off. What with the money she had already made in her career, it meant Jade was wealthy beyond her wildest dreams.

‘I think I have a tube of KY jelly somewhere you can lube up with then if that’s the case’ said Jade, getting out of the truck just as Charlotte’s Buick rattled up the drive carrying the remainder of the band.

‘Bring it on then!’ laughed Craig, taking a closer look at the beautiful Ferrari 480, Jade’s pride and joy. She buzzed the eight foot electronic gates shut again as Charlotte pulled up, and walked towards the front door, fishing in her purse for her keys. As soon as she had put the first one in the lock the sound of furious barking came from the other side of the door, which when opened gave the three large dogs on the other side a clear path to run and dive all over Jade’s guests.

‘So this would be the famous Brodie then?’ asked Joey as a huge jet black Great Dane jumped up him, standing taller than his diminutive height as she placed her paws on his shoulders and licked his cheek.

‘Yup, that’s the savage’ joked Jade. Brodie was a fearsome looking dog, and would bite your hand off if you so much as even gave her owner an off look she was so protective, but otherwise her temperament was lovely, just like that of the two pitbulls she owned, currently being fussed by Corey and Jim as they tried to get inside. Managing to get past the powerhouse dogs Snoop and Bailey Jim and Corey entered the lounge and couldn’t help but laugh at Joey’s reaction as he moved into the huge living space.

‘POOL TABLE!’ he shouted, grabbing Chris’ arm and running over to Jade’s custom table, with clear balls adorned with real scorpions inside them. Jade laughed at his enthusiasm and took a seat on her huge black leather couch, kicking off her shoes and being glad of the rest. Pregnancy had made her more tired than she had ever known.

‘You want a cuppa big mamma?’ said Jen kindly, taking off her coat and throwing it over the back of one of the recliners.

‘Yes please honey’ said Jade, reaching out to give Jen’s hand a little squeeze as she passed her. She watched her blow a kiss to Chris and him return it and smiled; she was so happy for the both of them, together at last. Somehow it only made her feel even worse about her own situation; all she wanted was Stefan to be by her side, but in that it meant she had to shatter someone else’s world, something she was still unsure if she wanted to do or not. To take her mind off it she gave the boys a guided tour of her house once she had drank her tea, and a few hours after that had to apologise for being rude to go to bed, she was beyond tired. Of course all present told her not to worry and that they’d keep the noise down and see her in the morning, so off Jade padded to her huge deep pink and purple decorated bedroom to change into a pair of boxers and a vest top and settle herself down in bed.

Lying back against the pillows Jade was just beginning to relax when the text message alert beeped on her phone. She reached across to the nightstand and picked it up, along with the glass of fruit juice she had brought up with her and took a few sips as she read the message.

‘Are you asleep or can I come keep you company? xx’ read the message from Jim.

‘Yeah come up ’ she typed, pressing send and seeing the man himself appear at the door after a few minutes.

‘Sup mate?’ she asked as Jim sat down on the bed next to her.

‘I was getting bored watching Jen and Chris tongue wrestle, so I thought I’d come spend some time with my favourite girl before she goes to sleep’ said Jim, smiling and stroking the back of her hand. ‘And, I just kinda sensed you were feeling a little lonely’ he continued. Jade still couldn’t believe how easily he could read her.

‘I know I’m no substitute for Stefan, but hell I can at least be here for you’ he then said, lying down next to her on top of the covers.

‘You know me better than most people you know’ said Jade, reaching over and stroking his spiky hair as he yawned.

‘And I know right now you’re scared about going through all this alone, so I just want you to know that no matter what choice you make, your gonna be a fantastic mom. This little one couldn’t ask for a better person to bring her up’ said Jim, stroking her baby bump.

‘Thanks big guy, I think I needed to hear that’ said Jade, feeling her eyelids growing heavy. He watched her yawn and decided it was time to leave her to sleep, yet when he went to get up off the bed she held onto his arm tightly, sleep beginning to wash over her.

‘Don’t, don’t go. I’ve missed you next to me’ she said before yawning again, her voice becoming slurred as sleep began to take its hold. ‘I’ve missed you so much Jim, maybe I wouldn’t have been in this mess if I hadn’t have got on that damn plane, maybe things could have been different if I had said.................’ was all Jim heard of her sentence as she fell asleep. He just looked down at her and rested his head on the pillow beside her, thinking he would get up in a few moments and leave her be. He ended up lying next to her all night long.
