A/N: This is it! All done! It feels strange finally completing this story after such a long hiatus period. But here is the finaly chapter. I hope you all enjoyed reading this far!
==================================================================================
“No Marina, left, turn left!” Bill shouted as I tried to make a turn. I stopped the car, letting my head fall back hard against the seat. Bill let out a long sigh, one hand gripping the door handle tightly, the other holding on to the seat he was in. His knuckles were white, as were mine.
“Thank god this is a driving course. We would have died!” He said dramatically, reaching to itch his right leg. Since the accident he developed this need to itch the area whenever he got scared or nervous.
“Bill, I’m ready to wave the white flag. I’m meant to be a public transport person, and I accept my fate,” I groaned. It had been two years since Bill asked me to move in, and I had been living with him in Germany for the last year and a half. Bill decided that, since I was now a German citizen, I needed to learn how to drive German roads in German vehicles. Which, apparently, I just did not understand.
“It cannot possibly be that different from America, Mina,” He sighed. He took my hand and kissed it gently. “I know we’ll get it, ok? I believe that you can do this.” I nodded with his words of encouragement. I just needed to complete two laps on the course and I would be deemed ready for the actual exam. I took a deep breath and shifted the car into gear again, easing off the break and turning left.
Two hours later, I successfully completed at least a dozen laps around the course, as well as various parking situations the boys decided to throw in on my training. I squeaked with excitement, barely parking the car before lunging at Bill over the shift stick, kissing him deeply.
“Hey, we helped too,” Came a call through the window with various catcalls and whistles from the boys. I flipped my middle finger at them and smiled.
“So tomorrow we take the exam, and you’ll pass so I can make you my personal driver,” Bill smiled, ducking out of the car quickly.
“Bill Kaulitz I am not your chauffeur!” I yelled after him just to hear his giggling trickle through the window. I returned the car to the garage and followed the boys to their cars.
“So we have the EMA’s again tonight, and tomorrow you guys have that sickening couples interview,” Tom read off their schedules for the rest of the week. Bill nudged his brother at the comment.
“So we should be getting ready to go, yeah?” Bill said, hopping into our car and turning the engine over. He drove us through the city back to our hotel where there were hoards of press waiting outside for us.
“Mein Marina, four years later and we’re right back where it started,” he smiled, holding my hand as I got out of the car. We waved as we quickly brushed past the reporters, through the lobby and into the elevators. “Did you ever think it’d get this far?” he asked as we rode the elevator, surprisingly alone.
“No, I never thought I’d be dating the weird German kid picking out air fresheners,” I teased, leaning in to kiss him just as we arrived at our floor. Bill smiled, holding my hand as we walked to our room, then stopped in front of the door.
“Oh wait, I forgot,” he pulled me into a tight kiss. I was surprised at first, then once my eyes were closed I felt him tie something around my head. I opened my eyes to see I had been blindfolded.
“Bill Kaulitz, what the hell is happening?” I said quietly. I reached forward, trying to find him. I heard the swipe of the keycard in front of me and the door open, and I slowly followed the sound. I felt the doorway open, and made my way through. The room was dark, there was a lack of light around the blindfold so I could tell that much, but there was no sign of Bill from what I could hear.
“Ok Marina, you can take it off now,” Bill called from ahead suddenly. I tore the fabric from my eyes and before I could lay into him I realized what was happening. The room had been decorated with dozens of soft candles and pictures of us, from the first night we met in New York, until the night before when we went out to a club with the boys and Buick. The photographic timeline lead into the main part of the bedroom where Bill stood, hands behind his back and shifting nervously. I smiled seeing him and the work that had to have gone into making this happen, when he stepped towards me and kissed me gently.
“Marina, “ he started when he pulled away, “I’m so in love with you. From the moment I saw you I knew this was it.” My smile faltered for the quickest moment as I realized what was happening. Bill dropped to one knee in front of me, holding up a small black box. He opened it to reveal the most beautiful ring I had seen. It had a large diamond in the center with two brilliant sapphires, my birth stone, on either side. The band looked like crossing waves, and I couldn’t imagine what it took for him to find a ring like it.
“Please marry me, Marina,” he said softly. I was stunned, feeling my knees ready to give away underneath me. I nodded, the smile returning to my face.
“Yes, Bill. I will,” I smiled as he slipped the ring onto my finger. How he had managed to size it perfectly was beyond me, and he stood, kissing me and pulling me into his arms. From behind us I heard applause and cheering, and turned to see the boys, Buick, and my parents standing in the doorway. I covered my mouth with my hands, flushing red seeing everyone witnessing the moment. Buick gave me a tight hug, admiring the ring before letting me talk with my parents. My mom hugged me tight, a genuine smile lighting her face and eyes.
“Marina, I’m so glad you found him. I’m sorry I ever doubted your decision with him,” she said, holding my hands. I felt tears threatening to spill over as my dad hugged me tight.
“I can’t believe you guys are here. I’m so glad,” I smiled, my mom looking at the ring on my finger.
“He orchestrated this whole thing last month,” My dad said, “came out to visit and told us he wanted our permission to ask you to marry him. He’s a good catch.” There was a loud pop of a cork behind us as Gustav opened a bottle of champagne. Our group chatted for a while before having to disperse to our separate rooms with the promise of an after party. Bill and I dressed quickly for the award show, him in a sleek suit with blue accents, and I had a deep blue flowing silk gown that clung in all the right areas. I slipped on a low pair of heels, our height almost even with them on. I smiled, looking us over in the mirror before planting a kiss on his cheek. We rode the elevator down with the others, Bills smiling as I kept fidgeting and looking at the ring on my left hand.
“You two will come out last, ok” Tom said, getting nods from Georg and Gustav. “It’ll take ages once they notice that new ring blinding them.” I laughed, shaking my head and feeling the long curls brush against my shoulders. Sure enough, once we stepped outside the three boys were able to push through quickly and into the car, while Bill and I were almost immediately swallowed into a sea of questions about the ring. We just smiled and pushed through, not answering any of the questions. There would be plenty of time for that tomorrow. We sat in the car on the way to the show, the four boys laughing and joking, and I couldn’t help the surreal feeling rushing over me as the car lurched forward to our destination, that I would be marrying into this small family of brothers.
