Chapter 23
Orlando drove. He didn’t really know where he was going. He just drove. The tears fell from his eyes and he didn’t bother wiping them away. It was close to an hour he figured since he had driven away from the farm. He saw a sign for a rest area and decided to pull over. To try to gather his thoughts.
The pictures at first had upset him greatly. Once Tia explained the reasoning behind them, his anger had lessened. But what angered him the most was that she didn’t seem to have the faith in them that he would’ve stuck by her. That what his management said didn’t mean a whole hell of a lot to him. She was the only thing that mattered to him.
He glanced over at the passenger side and saw his phone sitting there. Tentatively, he picked it up and searched through the phone book before dialing a number.
“Hello?”
“She’s telling the truth isn’t she?”
“So she told you. I told her to tell you the truth in the very beginning Orlando. But she wouldn’t listen to me.” Lisa said.
“Why not?”
“Because that’s how she is. You know that. Always putting everyone else’s happiness before hers.”
“But why sacrifice our happieness?”
“I don’t know. She was so scared at the time. Especially after Daddy found out about those pictures. She was scared of your management and of what those pictures would do to your career.
“I don’t give a bloody damn what they would’ve done to my career! I would’ve survived. I always have.”
“I know that Orli. I know is that she loves you more than anything in this world.” Lisa was quiet for a moment. “You didn’t say anything stupid did you?”
Orlando ran his hand through his hair and closed his eyes. He did. “I accused her of having an affair when I saw the pictures. That I didn’t make her happy.”
Lisa sighed. She glanced up when she heard the door open. It was Viggo. She held up a finger to sush him.
“She didn’t have an affair.”
“I know that now.”
“Where are you by the way?”
“At some rest area. I tore out of there after I yelled at her. Yelled at her for not trusting in us.”
“Oh Orli.”
“God I’m such an idiot!”
“Listen to me. You told me yourself that you still love her, right?”
“Right.”
“Her heart has been aching for you since she walked out of your door. Go and fix her broken heart Orlando.”
“I will.” He hung up his phone and contemplated what he should do next. No matter how stubborn Tia was, he was determined to have her back. Come hell or high water.

Tia saddled Arwen. She couldn’t stop crying. Maybe it is for the best she thought. She hoped that he would come back while she was riding and get his things and leave. She had broken his heart again and she firmly believed that he would never forgive her now. Better to part she thought. She climbed onto Arwen’s back and turned her towards the pond on the far back of the property. Aragorn neighed in her direction as he saw his mate leaving the paddock.
“Not today boy. I’m sorry.” She said as she and Arwen rode off.
Orlando looked inside of the house, calling her name. “Tia! Where are you?” He didn’t receive an answer. The farm truck and her truck were still parked next to the house.
“Tia!” he yelled again. He looked in the barn and in the dark room. Where the hell is she? He wondered. He turned when he heard a noise in the paddock. He looked to see Aragorn pacing. Orlando squinted his eyes. Arwen was gone. That meant that Tia was with Arwen. He walked up to the paddock and Aragorn nudged at him. As if to say ‘let’s go get our women’. Orlando petted the horse.
“Alright boy. Let’s go.” He quickly saddled Aragorn. Wondering where she had ridden to. Her land covered many acres. He was about to climb onto Aragorn’s back when he remembered something. He ran into the house and searched through his luggage. He pulled out a small box and hurried back to the horse.
Together they searched for Tia. Then it dawned on Orlando. Whenever Tia was upset or angry, she would swim.
“Come on boy. I know where your lady is.” He turned the horse towards the pond. A short time later, they came across Arwen as she was tied to a tree on a long rope. Her head shot up when she spotted Aragorn. Orlando slid off of his back and tied him up next to her. He looked around for Tia and smiled when he saw her floating on her back in the pond. He glanced around and saw her clothes in a pile on the shore. He kept an eye on her so she wouldn’t see him and he picked up her clothes. He hurried over to where Arwen was tied and placed her clothes in the saddlebag. He grabbed the blanket off of Aragorn and walked back to the pond.
“Hello love.”
