The rest of that day and far into the next was tense. Steve had become very withdrawn and Neal didn’t really know how to bring him out of himself. They had meals together, watched television, and talked about music but it was like a wall had been put up. Steve was acting very much like he was when he first got out of the hospital. The joy and peace he had seen in Steve the first day or two he was there was all but gone. Worst of all Neal had heard Steve crying in the middle of the night but felt unable to go comfort him. Neal was relieved when on the second evening Greg called and said he would home the next day.
------
Late that evening, Neal was sitting at supper by himself. Steve had stated he was not hungry and had went to the bedroom for a nap. The guitarist thought back to the first night he had found Steve and Greg making out in the hotel room. That evening,he had knocked on the door to let Steve know he was going out with a couple of girls from the show. Steve didn’t always get into the groupie thing, it depended on the mood he was in. But the girls were friends and one wouldn’t come with him without the other, so Neal figured he would share the wealth. There was no answer to his knock, and the radio was playing rather loudly. He used his key and walked in, figuring that Steve either couldn’t hear over the music or was sleeping. Instead when he opened the door he found Steve and Greg, both half undressed, making out on the bed. The two hadn’t even looked guilty or upset. Neal on the other hand was mortified. He was so shocked he ran out of the hotel room into the parking lot, forgetting about the two groupies waiting in the lobby. After a few minutes he heard Greg calling him, he turned around and seen the keyboard player fully dressed, looking very uncomfortable. Neal stared at him “ What the hell is going on here ?” Greg said,” I am sorry Neal we were going to tell you all, when were ready. We are still getting used to the idea ourselves.” Neal shook his head and said “ I just didn’t know Steve was gay, does Herbie know” Greg smiled at his friend “I don’t think Steve knew. I am his first, he says he never met a man who wanted to be with romantically before. And I know I am not a surprise to you, Neal. You knew about Adrian and I thought you were alright about it. Carlos was flipping out but you were always cool. “ I guess I thought it was some free love hippie thing that would pass in time. “ Neal said still flabbergasted. He looked at the ground trying to avoid Greg’s intense stare. “Do you want me to leave ? “ Greg asked. “ No, you started the band with me, in fact I can’t imagine being in this band without you. I just need to work this out in my head. Neal had went back to the two women who were impatiently waiting for him. Oh well he thought double the fun and spent the evening trying to put the scene he had just witnessed out of his head. And it was fairly soon after that the affair was revealed to the rest of the band. By then Neal had gotten over his squeamishness, and found a grudging acceptance. After all Steve was making them big stars. Herbie didn’t care as long as they were making money. Ansley was too busy being chased by the father of the underage girls he had slept with to be interested. Ross was the only one who seem to have a problem and he was completely disgusted. Neal's thoughts now back in the present time, Neal wondered what everyone would think of his newly discovered love for Steve. Plus he knew he had hurt Steve terribly by rejecting his advances. Especially since the fragile vocalist was convinced Greg no longer wanted him. Between that and the guilt that he felt from betraying his long term friendship with Greg, Neal’s stomach was in constant knots. He was dreading Greg’s arrival the next afternoon. However he had promised he would stay till he got home. He couldn’t fathom how he was going to look Greg in the face, for he was sure the keyboardist would be able to sense his wrongdoing . All Neal wanted was to go home to his own place, he needed to sort this mess out.
--------
Back in Seattle Greg was having a difficult time of things as well. He was sick with guilt over sleeping with Adrian. On the other hand he missed Steve terribly. He had no answser as to why he made such a crazy decision. The sex had been great,it always was with Adrian. He didn’t know how he was going to tell Steve what happened or if he should. After all Adrian was in home in Seattle, busy working on his advanced degree. He was not coming to San Fransisco anytime soon. So maybe Greg’s indiscretion could be put behind him and forgotten. Certainly Steve didn’t need any more hurt.
--------
Adrian sat at his desk in his den. He looked at the small piece of paper that he found in his bedroom two days ago. On it was Greg’s address. He smiled thinking Greg had swore he was committed to Steve and his relationship with Adrian was in the past. But the fact he left his contact information to Adrian said maybe the keyboardist was not so sure. He had called Greg’s family home only to be told that he was on his way home to California. After that afternoon's session he had a long weekend before his next class started. He had not been to San Francisco in about 5 years, actually since he and Greg had split up. Maybe a quick trip to the city would be good for Adrian, in more ways then one. He smiled and picked up the phone to check the airline schedule for available flights.
------------
The next afternoon Steve and Neal were sitting in the living room awaiting for Greg’s arrival. He had called saying he was taking a cab and would be home in about thirty minutes. Steve was on the couch watching the window for the taxi. Misty slept contentedly in his lap. Steve had very little sleep the last two nights, Neal steadfastly refused to come back to the bedroom and Steve spent a lot of the night staring at the ceiling. He drew a sigh of relief when he seen Greg finally coming up the walk. Just pausing long enough to sit Missy down on her favorite pillow, he had the door open in a heartbeat. Then he had his arms wrapped around Greg, before he even could put his suitcase down. Greg returned his enthusiasm and affection. Neal was grateful all of his bandmate's attention was focused on Steve. He quickly gathered his things and told the two he was ready to go home.
When the two were finally alone, Steve said “ Are hungry baby, I will fix you a snack. Greg looked in to the beautiful hazel eyes, that he had missed so badly. He said “ I am hungry but not for food, you want to take a little nap ?” Steve blushed a bit and said “ I have missed you in our bed “ He reached up to kiss Greg and the keyboardist ruffled Steve’s long hair. Greg locked the door and let the singer led him into the bedroom.
Steve pulled Greg down on the bed on top of him. They were both breathing fast and Greg looked at Steve like a starving animal. For the first time since Steve’s abduction and rape, the two of them enjoyed undressing each other. When both of their clothes were in a heap on the floor their bodies were entwined warm skin on skin. Steve eagerly touched Greg all over, becoming reacquainted with his body. And Steve enjoyed his lover’s caresses, keeping all the ugly memories of his rape at bay. Spreading his legs, Steve let Greg everywhere, inside and out. He came in Greg’s mouth crying out with a joy he thought he would never experience again. Finally he said “ Greg I am ready, I want you to make all the bad memories go away. Greg asked him “ Are you sure, baby, are you really ready for that. “ I know being with you is nothing like what that monster did to me. And I want to be yours now, not his. Greg kissed him and moved Steve into a comfortable position.Within a very short time, Greg has “reclaimed” his beloved.

Around 6 AM the next morning, the sun was just starting to rise. Steve and Greg were curled up in the bed with Misty. Their supper had been forgotten and Greg’s suitcases with still in the foyer, as the two spent a passionate night that lasted into early morning till they finally fell asleep around three AM.
Outside the house a cab pulled up to the sidewalk and Adrian stepped out. He was exhausted from the overnight flight but he was happy to be in San Francisco. He looked up at the lovely three story Victorian home in front of him. Both he and Greg had loved these old homes, an ode to the city’s history. Greg had always wanted to buy one, even back in the Santana days. Adrian was glad the musician had gotten his dream home even though his spot in Greg’s bed was being occupied by Steve. But that could always change, if Adrian played his cards right.
Adrian’s thoughts were interrupted by the cab he came in pulling off the curb and speeding down the street. “Wait, wait,” he called in vain. The driver was far out of his hearing. Adrian sighed, now he was in a jam. He had thought he had made it clear that the taxi was supposed to wait. Apparently he did not communicate that very well. He had just wanted to find the house then he was going back to his hotel. He was planning on returning later to surprise Greg. He turned around towards the direction he came. He was not looking forward to a five mile walk in the chilly morning air, to get back to the hotel, but he could hardly go knock on Greg’s door. He was just about ready to start walking when a sports car pulled up at the curb. Inside a tall dark haired man said “ You look a bit lost, are you alright ?’ Adrian said , “ I am not lost.” He then explained that a misscomunication with a taxi driver had left him stranded.” The man looked at him, seeming surprised then said “ Are you Adrian. “Yes” he answered, “ how do you know who I am ?” The man stuck his hand out for Adrian to shake and he said “ I am a friend of Greg’s I have known him for years. He talks about you all the time.” He was quiet a minute then he said “ Why don’t you let me take you back to the hotel, then you could call Greg a bit later and let him know you are in town. “ Adrian thought about it a minute then said “ Sure,” he was so exhausted that he was thrilled to get offered a ride. And he considered the fact that this guy said Greg talked about him all the time a very good omen. He opened the passenger door and stepped into the car.
