Later that day, one of the benefactors called Madalina to announce they would be paying a visit. In order to cover their tracks, the resort and the benefactors have their own lingo. It's kind of like in John Wick where "I'd like to make a dinner reservation for twelve" meant "I killed twelve guys; please come and dispose of their bodies." The difference, of course, is that there are no deaths in the resort and no head shots ("head shots" in the context of a sex resort being . . . well, you know).
The benefactor has to call at least 24 hours in advance of the intended visit. Madalina would begin the conversation by saying "Thank you for calling the Ocean Lake Stage Company. Are you buying a ticket?" The benefactor would then give the name, the day, and time of the "production" they want to see. The women go by nicknames for the sake of these conversations. When a benefactor gives the name of a "production," they're really giving the nickname of their woman of choice.
It's worth noting that one of the requirements for being a benefactor is not already being married, engaged, or in a romantic relationship. We do, however, discourage people from becoming benefactors right after a breakup or divorce. This is a decision we don't want people to make when their emotions might be clouding their judgment and, in the case of divorces, when they've already exhausted enough money as is. But those who do become benefactors are then given some rather enticing perks. If you spend enough time and money at the resort, you reach a different reward level. The higher level you reach, the more enticing perks you get, like discounts on payments and getting to pick two women at the same time.
Anyway, Madalina picked up the phone and said "Thank you for calling Ocean Lake Stage Company. Are you buying a ticket?" The benefactor requested a "ticket" to "Guava Girl" (Candice) for one o'clock the following afternoon. Madalina thanked him for calling once again and hung up the phone.
Next, Madalina would dial the room of the requested woman. If she wasn't there at the moment, or she was there but was "busy," Madalina could just leave a voicemail. Madalina almost had to do that for Candice. However, her office had a small window on the wall through which she could see the lobby, where Candice was in one of the armchairs making out with Taylor. Madalina stepped out of the office and approached the two women.
"You can stay here," she assured them, "but I needed to inform you that a benefactor is coming tomorrow at one o'clock in the afternoon."
Pointing at Candice, she continued, "And they asked for you."
"Oh, awesome," said Candice.
Taylor sighed and remarked, "They always go for the big names, don't they?"
Madalina shrugged and headed back to her office. Candice whispered something to Taylor, who quietly responded "Damn, I didn't think of that. Go ahead."
"Madalina?" Candice asked. "Would you like to join us?"
Madalina looked back at them, genuinely flattered by the offer.
"I would love to," she spoke like she would have removed her hat if she had one on, "but you know I have a lot of work to do."
"Couldn't you just take a break for a few minutes?" Taylor questioned.
Madalina checked the time and pondered for a few moments. Taylor actually wasn't wrong; Madalina's workload wasn't so immense that she couldn't allow herself a small break.
She pointed her head toward her office and declared "Fifteen minutes."
