As soon as the ensuite door shut behind them Josh pushed Louisa up against the tiled wall and pressed his hardness into her.
‘I need you’ he said in a strangled tone as they feverishly worked to get naked ‘god I need you’

‘You have me’ Louisa breathed ripping off his t-shirt ‘take me now Josh fuck the foreplay I need you inside me’

‘You really ought to have a bit of patience’ Josh said in amusement unsnapping her bra.

Eventually after twice in the shower and once more in the bedroom Josh and Louisa made their way downstairs looking and feeling much more refreshed.

‘Well you two look much more in the land of the living’ Jennifer said.

‘Define long and hot’ Kurt said with a grin wiggling his eyebrows suggestively as he exited the kitchen carrying a tray of sausages

‘I know what you’re thinking Kurt Andrew Riminton and you ought to be ashamed of yourself’ Louisa said going bright pink ‘Angelina would spank you if she heard you say that!’

‘And wouldn’t I look forward to it?’ Kurt called with a great snort of laughter.

‘You’re a degenerate!’

‘He knows what we got up to!’ Josh hissed as the preparations for the barbeque got into full swing.

‘No he doesn’t he only suspects’ Louisa said with a grin as she wrapped her arms around his waist and dropped a light kiss on his lips.

‘Some help here!’ an older gentleman’s voice called suddenly interrupting Josh and Louisa mid kiss.

‘Pop is that you?’ Louisa called happily heading up the hallway to the front door.

‘Yeah Louie it is can you give us a hand honey?’

Josh followed Louisa out to the front yard where there was an older couple each struggling to carry two cartons of beer.

‘Here let me take that for you’ Josh said taking one of the cartons from the older woman.

‘Thanks luvvie you must be the famous Joshua Bell my Louisa is always banging on about’

‘Nanna don’t you start Kurt’s been hanging shit on us since we got off the plane!’ Louisa said rolling her eyes ‘J this is my Nanna Jackie and this is my Pop Neville. Nan Pop this is Josh’

‘G’day welcome to Australia’ Neville said brightly ‘nice to meet you, I’ll do the hand shaking thing once we get inside aye?’

Josh grinned
‘Sounds good’

‘Why do we need so much beer?’ Louisa asked as they made their way into the house.

‘For everyone on Sunday honey there’s going to be dozens of people here’ Jackie said ‘and for the time in between Easter is a week away I ‘m sure you and Josh are going to indulge in a drink or two in the interim’

‘We can make a decent go of all this’ Josh said with a grin ‘I like Australian beer and want to test the merchandise while I’m out here’

‘Am I going to be waking up next to a hangover every morning then?’ Louisa asked setting her carton down on the kitchen bench ‘Mum Dad Nanna ands Pop are here!’

‘Okay time for the handshaking thing’ Neville said to Josh holding out his hand ‘nice to finally meet you Josh your arrival here has been quite eagerly anticipated’

‘Apparently so’ Josh giving Louisa a wink as he shook Neville’s hand.

‘Yes our Louie has been telling us quite a bit about you over the last few months’ Jackie said in amusement watching Louisa blush a bright shade of pink ‘we started to think she was dating Jesus himself the reports were so glowing’

Josh couldn’t help laughing loudly at Louisa’s obvious morbid embarrassment.

‘Oh Nanna I hate you!’ she shrilled allowing Josh to wrap his arms around her ‘why is everyone picking on me today? Yes I’ve said Josh is great but I’ve never described him as the Son of God!’

‘You haven’t?’ Josh asked with a grin ‘why not?’

‘Oh don’t you start or you’ll be sleeping on the lounge!’

‘We’re picking on you because we love you honey’ Neville said with a grin ruffling Louisa’s hair ‘and you’re not home much these days so we have to tease you whenever the opportunity comes up’

‘You’re a pain in the arse Pop’

After Neville and Jackie the next people to arrive was Louisa’s elder sister Leisl her husband Wills and their sons Scott six and Liam four.

‘Louie Booey my baby sister!’ Leisl exclaimed engulfing Louisa in a crushing hug ‘you’re looking smoking hot kid’

‘I tell her that every day’ Josh said in amusement.

‘Leis this is my boyfriend Josh J this is my big sister Leisl and her hubby Will and their kids Scott and Liam’

Leisl embraced Josh and kissed him on the cheek.
‘I’m so glad to meet you!’ she said enthusiastically as her moved into the main part of the house to help Kurt carry food outside and Louisa was pounced on by her nephews ‘seriously J thanks for helping Louie you seriously have no idea what you’ve done for her’

‘Um how have I helped her?’ Josh asked in bemused confusion.

‘You’ve shown here that not all men are arseholes. You love her, treat her like a lady and have instilled in her an air of self worth and confidence she lost when Chris and Marie did what they did to her. You have healed my baby sister’s heart and I’m so grateful for that. The whole family is particularly Fred, Kurt and I’

Josh felt a lump form in his throat
‘It’s not something I set out to do when I asked her out you know’ he said as Scott and Liam chased Louisa around the lounge room ‘I’m not with her to heal her. I’m with her because she fascinates me, she challenges me to be a better person every day and first and foremost I love her like I’ve never loved any woman before. I’ll tell you right now I will never ever do to Louie what her asshole of an ex did. I think adultery wether you’re married or de facto is repugnant. I’ve been on the crappy end of an adulterous relationship and I would never ever put someone I’m with in the same situation where they had to feel what I did’

‘Have you told Louie this?’

‘Yes several times’ Josh said emphatically ‘especially when she’s feeling down which thankfully hasn’t happened for a long time. I especially told her this when she came home after her Christmas break and told me how Finlay and Sarah had a go at her. But sometimes I think those two had such an effect on her she doesn’t believe me and I don’t want to sound pompous but of all people she should believe me first’

Leisl’s face hardened.
‘Yes well she should’ she said ‘I’m not kidding you Josh that day was awful when those two had a go at Louie she was so upset it was heartbreaking. If those two try again this weekend I will have a go at them and this time I won’t hold back. You’ll want to get Louie out of the way then because of all the people in the family I’m the one with the temper’

Josh snorted.
‘You sure about that? He said with a chuckle ‘you sure it’s not Louie? I’ve seen her pissed off more than once’

Leisl giggled.
‘Nah he temper is nothing compared to mine I go off if someone really pisses me off’ she said ‘but seriously thanks Josh you’ve turned my baby sister around and I’m really grateful to you’

Josh felt the lump in his throat thicken as Leisl embraced him.
‘No problem’ he mumbled.

‘You’ve been having a lot of furtive conversations today and none of them have been with me’ Louisa said to Josh an hour later once everyone had arrived and introductions had been made ‘anything I should know about?’

Josh wrapped his arms around her torso and leaned back in the deck chair.
‘Nope not one word of those conversations were relevant to you’ he said in amusement rubbing her stomach softly ‘they were about you but not relevant to you’

‘That makes no sense whatsoever’

Josh laughed.
‘I might tell you later when we go to bed’ he said ‘now is not the time to say anything there are too many people around’

‘What else can we do when we go to bed?’ Louisa whispered looking around then quickly pretending to itch her back and grabbing at his crotch ‘because I want to suck on you like a porn star’

‘And I want to let you’ Josh said ‘but it’s only eight PM and dinner is in full swing it’ll be a couple of hours before we can excuse ourselves and go to bed and not be rude’

Louisa and Josh managed to leave the backyard festivities without being noticed and Louisa led him to the back of the lower level of the house to the pool room. Where she locked the door and pushed him over to the lounge suite dropping to her knees in front of him.

The hilarity of their situation and Louisa’s comment got Josh laughing and soon he and Louisa were tittering like a pair of school girls.
‘You’re terrible’ he chuckled slipping from her ‘I’ve only met your family today I don’t want to be ostracized for making a mess of the pool table’

Louisa grinned as she pulled her knickers back on.
‘I’m never going to be able to play a game of pool on this thing and think cleanly ever again’ she said with a giggle ‘every time I bend over for take a shot I’ll be thinking of you doing to me what you just did’

‘Oh god don’t say that you’ve just implanted the same thought into my thinking process’ Josh said dryly zipping his trousers back up ‘you’re seriously going to be the undoing of me you know that? I’m going to get in trouble for thinking about you with your knickers around your ankles one day’

Louisa pressed him up against the pool table and kissed him hungrily.
‘I love you Joshua Bell’ she whispered resting her head on his chest and listening to the thump thump thump of his heart.

‘I love you too sweetheart’

‘Well doesn’t someone look like the cat that got the cream?’ Leisl said to Louisa several minutes later as she emerged from the house carrying a fresh bag of ice to put in the drinks bin.

‘Oh how?’ Louisa said her cheeks turning a distinct shade of pink.

Leisl rolled her eyes.

‘Oh come on Louie I’m not stupid you and Josh just went off and fucked didn’t you?’ she said with a giggle.

Louisa ripped open the bag of ice and poured the contents into the bin.
‘I choose not to comment on that on the grounds I may incriminate myself’ she said crisply feeling her face burn ‘if you must know I went inside to get some ice. I don’t know where Josh is. Probably making a pit stop in the loo’

‘Uh huh he might be now but I bet five minutes ago he wasn’t’ Leisl said with a grin following her sister over to the wheelie bin where she discarded the ice bag ‘c’mon fess up I’m your one and only sister you can tell me’

‘You’re a nosey bitch Leisl Katrina Boddington I should tell you to go and shove it up your arse!’ Louisa hissed turning from pink to scarlet.

‘You know the more and more you avoid the question the more I draw my own conclusions’ Leisl said with a snort.

‘Go and be a fucking artist then!’

Leisl reached into the drinks bin and pulled out a raspberry vodka breezer.
‘Can I bribe you with your favourite alcoholic beverage?’ she asked with a giggle waving the bottle in Louisa’s face ‘come on Louie we haven’t had a good girlie chat in ages I need this!’

Louisa grinned.
‘Alright go and grab me a seat and wait while I get myself another lamb chop’ she said with a wink ‘I’ve worked up quite an appetite’

‘I bet you have’

Louisa served herself a plate of food and made her way over to the other side of the deck where Leisl was waiting her eldest son Liam hugging her.

‘Honey you go and talk with Nanna and Pop Aunty Za and I need an adult chat’ she said ‘can you do that for me?’

Liam hugged his mother.
‘Okay Mummy’ he said brightly then going over to Louisa and hugging her ‘looking good Za very pwetty’

Leisl let out a great snort of laughter as Louisa hugged her nephew.
‘You’re looking pretty sharp too Li’ she said with a grin ‘if you see Josh around go and say hello huh? He’s a nice guy’

‘Okay!’

Liam trotted off and Leisl leaned over.
‘Okay spill’ she said as soon as her son was out of earshot ‘the one thing I want to know is....is Josh good in bed?’

‘Leis he’s good anywhere’ Louisa said with a giggle ‘in bed, in the shower, in the car, outside on the back lawn, in aeroplanes and just now against Dad’s pool table’

Leisl’s eyes bulged.
‘You fucked on Dad’s pool table?’ she hissed ‘Jesus Louie I hope you cleaned up after yourself Dad will go apeshit if you’ve left mess on it’

‘I said against not on’ Louisa said with a grin ‘and we don’t leave mess we’re a very environmentally conscious couple’

‘Oh yeah sure you are’ Leisl said dryly ‘so you’ve joined the mile high club then?’

‘Yep eight times between New York and Melbourne’ Louisa said with a giggle ‘god he’s insatiable Leis he literally couldn’t keep his hands off me!’

Leisl let out a great snort of laughter.
‘I don’t blame him honey you’re a gorgeous girl’ she said earnestly ‘so how are things going with you two aside from the sex?’

‘Oh Leis it’s wonderful really it is’ Louisa said dreamily ‘he’s so caring you know? Much more than Chris ever was. Whenever he comes to visit he brings a bouquet of flowers and insists on opening doors for me. And we don’t make love every time we’re together either quite often we’ll just walk Mocha or sit and watch a DVD. And he’s forever touching me wether it’s giving me a shoulder massage or holding hands with me or even stroking my hair. He’s forever stroking my hair’

Leisl smiled.
‘I’m glad you two are so in love Louie you really needed someone to show you not all men are arseholes’ she said earnestly ‘I can tell after only a couple of hours knowing Josh he’s opened your heart to a whole new world of possibilities. I’ve never seen you so happy really I haven’t I think he’s wonderful’

‘Isn’t he?’ Louisa said with a grin as Josh emerged from the house carrying a baking tray ‘and he's a fantastic parent too. He and his ex don’t get on too well but he’s not letting that effect how he parents Josef, Ben and Sam’

‘So how do you get on with his sons?’ Leisl asked in interest ‘you’re somewhat of a Step Mum aren’t you?’

‘Yes and no’ Louisa said ‘the boys and I get on like a house on fire and as I told Josh as we were coming into land in Melbourne I love them as if he were my own. They're important to Josh and therefore are important to me. Josef asked me to teach him to play the violin earlier in the month but his Mum hit the roof and said no if anyone was going to teach her son to play the violin it was going to be his ‘parents’ Lisa hates me she really does I’ve never met someone so vitriolic in my life. I had to leave before I gave her a right hook’

‘She screamed at you?’ Leisl asked in surprise her eyebrows disappearing into her fringe.

‘No not screamed because the boys were in the lounge room and within earshot and she and Josh don’t raise their voices in front of them whatever the circumstances. It was the first time I’ve actually met Lisa and it’s not an experience I wish to repeat. Josh stood between us like a fucking umpire’

‘But why would she hate you so much?’ Leisl asked ‘that was the first time you met her. How can you hate someone you’ve never met before?’

‘Yeah well that’s what I’ve said to Josh and what I said to Lisa. I asked her why she hated me so much and what I have ever done to her. I said I didn’t hate her, I don’t hate anyone and I respect her thoughts on Josef learning the violin but she should listen to her son and not let her own feelings on me influence her sons learning of the greatest instrument in the world. Let him decide who he wants to teach him. If he wants me to teach him I will but if he doesn’t I’ll respect that and despite her attitude toward me I would respect her decision of not wanting me to teach her son but if she doesn’t want me to teach him she has to make that decision based on proper reasons and fact not just because she doesn’t like me’

‘And what did she say to that?’

‘She called me a fucking airhead whore immigrant, that’s where I bit my tongue and excused myself’ Louisa said ‘I said to Josh right in front of Lisa that I couldn't stay and I was leaving the room before I did something I regretted. I then tongue kissed Josh in front of her, gave her the look of death and left I waited for Josh in his car down in the car park til he came out forty five minutes later. He was absolutely filthy I’ve never seen him that angry’

‘At you or his ex?’

‘His ex’ Louisa said ‘apparently she said she would take me to court and have an order slapped on me to stay away from her son if I started teaching Josef the violin ‘without her consent’ Louisa said rolling her eyes ‘Josh said to her if Louie can’t teach him no one’s teaching him then which I think must’ve infuriated her more because I think secretly both of them have wanted Jo to learn the violin since he was born. And I haven't told you but Josef J's oldest walked in on us doing it right at the moment I came and swore and when Lisa put him to bed he asked her what fuck meant. She then apparently accused us of fucking in front of her children and teaching them to swear. In reality we try not to even say dammit’

‘I bet it was hard for him to say that’ Louisa said ‘they must really want their son to have the same happiness they do playing the violin’

‘The whole argument was hard for him' Louisa said watching Josh engage in a lively conversation with her father 'one thing I’m sure of, the whole time I’ve known Josh he's said how he’s not going to force Josef into the violin but he’d love it if he took up the strings and bow because it’s an instrument that can instil pure happiness in oneself. I think it aggravates him that Lisa is letting her personal feelings on me interfere with that passing on of knowledge’

‘So do you know why she hates you so much?’

‘No but Josh and Lisa’s Mum reckon it’s pure jealously’ Louisa said ‘they think that Lisa is regretting dumping Josh my text message and is jealous he's moved on with his life and is in love with another woman that happens to be thirteen years younger than he is, than she is too’

Leisl rolled her eyes.
‘Oh for fucks sake’ she said dryly ‘it’s not like you took him away from her. She’s the one that cast him into the wind. You were just the lucky one who he hooked up with. If you had actively pursued him while he was still in a relationship with her I would understand but she dumped him months before you met Josh so what’s her beef?’

‘Jealousy’ Louisa said simply ‘and bitter regret. I think she’s angry and bitter at herself for dumping Josh and like she did and maybe she’s thinking she was too rash in her decision. Regret can make a lot of people think and do funny things’

‘I wouldn’t worry about her doll you’ve got the better side of the coin’ Leisl said rubbing her sisters arm ‘you and Josh just concentrate on being happy together and nothing else will matter. So this Lisa hates you big bloody deal you shouldn’t let it worry you’

‘I don’t’ Louisa said emphatically ‘Josh and the boys are the only people I care about at the moment fuck anyone else’

Leisl got up and hugged her sister.
‘That's the ‘tude Louie’ she said with a laugh ‘good luck to you’

‘Thanks Leis thanks a lot’
