Chapter 24: Four Days: Part 1
Day 1:
"You HAVE got to be kidding me! Why would I even do that?! She destroyed me for two fucking years! Why would I even go back to that?!"
"Oh, I don't know! Maybe because being with me is 'too lonely' since I'm on the road all the fucking time!"
"You're seriously going to believe this piece of trash?! I told you I NEVER TALKED TO THEM! How many times do I have to tell you?!"
"I don't know Andrea! Maybe a few more times to make me believe it!"
Andy scoffed and shook her head. They've been at each other's throats for hours. It all started with a fake article that was put all over the media. Even the entertainment news stations caught wind of it.
Andy kept trying to tell Lynn that the pictures were from seven years ago. She even opened up one of her social media files and showed her the album. After Lynn saw the pictures a brand new argument started. Lynn wanted to know why she still had those pictures. Andy shrugged saying she forgot about them. Things just started to escalate from there.
In the other room four men were sitting at a table trying to play poker. But it was hard to concentrate when they heard muffled shouting coming from the other side of the door. The door that connected to the two rooms.
"If we ever get like that. Punch me in the face." Alex said to Ethan and he nodded in agreement.
"Damn, they've been at it since two." Brian sighed looking at his watch, "And it's almost eight."
"Who released this article anyway?" Justin asked putting some poker chips into the pile that was in the center of the table.
"The Inquisitor." Alex said putting chips in the chip pile.
"So the one that makes up everything to sell. Didn't they have like a so called alien on the cover last month?" Justin asked. Alex nodded and then they heard a loud thump come from the next room.
"I'm sorry I don't go through my social media and delete everything! I'm NOT gonna spend hours and hours deleting pictures! Why are we even arguing about this?!"
"It makes me think you're not letting go of your past Andrea!"
"Stop saying my name like that!"
"Like what?"
"Like I'm a fucking child! I got enough of it growing up! I don't need it now!"
"Oh sure let me just change how I say your name! What else should I change for you?!"
"What are you talking about?! I've NEVER asked you to change! Why would I do that?! Why would I ask you to change for me? If you wanna change, change for yourself!"
Lynn shook her head and walked over to the window and sighed. They've been yelling at each other since that afternoon. She didn't know how much longer she should take. It was as if everything she kept bottled up for the longest time was finally coming out.
Some of the things she was saying she knew didn't make sense. She started to think what she was saying were things she couldn't say when she was with Alexa.
"We need to eat." Andy said with a sigh walking over to the room service menu on the night stand.
Lynn turned around and nodded, "Truce for now? I wanna take a shower."
Andy nodded, "Yeah, I could use a shower too. What do you want? I'll place the order while you're in the shower. Should get here by the time we're both done." She handed Lynn the menu and their fingers touched for a brief moment. They felt that familiar jolt.
Of course they both didn't acknowledge it. Both wanted nothing more than to just say sorry and hold each other. But they just seem to keep adding fuel to the fire that was getting out of control.
Lynn looked over the menu and told Andy what she wanted to eat. The other woman just nodded taking the menu from her. She looked down at it and Lynn grabbed some clothes from her suitcase then went to the bathroom. Andy watched as the bathroom door closed and she heard it lock. She walked over to it and put her hand on the door.
On the other side Lynn was doing the same thing. Both of them also wondering how did it come to this? Were they both just letting out everything they kept bottled up in the past? Were they just arguing to argue at this point? Were they trying to push each other away now, because things seemed too good to be true?
For once the both of them just wanted to have a relationship where they didn't have to question each other's moves. Andy trusted Lynn with all her heart, but it just seems Lynn doesn't want to trust her.
Andy sighed, "I just wish you were fighting with me and not her." She said to herself. She picked up on a few things here and there when they started this fight.
Some things didn't really make sense and as much she wanted to bring up her ex she didn't. No matter how many times Lynn throws her past in her face Andy didn't want to do the same. She sighed and turned away from the bathroom door unaware that Lynn heard what she said.
Lynn leaned against the door a for a few more moments after she heard Andy leave. She wiped her tears away and started the shower. She couldn't help but wonder that herself. Was she really fighting with Andy or was she fighting repressed feelings for Alexa?
She had to clear her mind. Yet, she also wanted to set things straight with Andy. She shook her head and started to get ready for her shower.
Andy hung up the hotel phone and she heard the shower running through the bathroom door. She looked at her watch and her eyes widened. She didn't realize they were going at it for close to eight hours. She rubbed her face in her hands and sighed.
A lot of things were running through her mind. She hoped after this truce things wouldn't escalate again. She picked up the hotel phone and dialed a number. She needed to hear the one voice that could settle her nerves.
"Yeah, one second. Ethan it's for you." Justin said holding the phone towards him. Without any hesitation Ethan stood up from his chair and rushed over to Justin. He took the phone from him and smiled. He didn't even have know who it was because he knew.
"Hey best friend. How are you holding up?" He heard her sigh and then sniffle. He knew she cried, or she just began to cry.
"I don't know. I have no idea where all this is coming from. She's telling me all these things that doesn't make any sense. I don't understand. I feel like she's fighting someone else."
"What is she doing now?"
"She's taking a shower. We called a truce. She wanted to take a shower and I suggested we eat something."
"That'll clear your heads for a bit. I take it you wanna shower too."
"Yeah, but I don't know how long she's gonna be."
"You two will work everything out. Just let it out all on the table. You'll get through this. The both of you will. You two love each other and maybe this will make your relationship stronger."
"What would I do without you?"
He smiled hearing the smile in her voice, "I could ask the same for you. Now go relax for a little bit and you two keep working through things."
"Thanks, I just needed to hear your voice for a bit."
He smiled again,"I love you. We'll talk soon."
"I love you. I'll let you know. Bye."
"Bye."
Ethan hung up the phone and sighed. He walked back over to the table and sat down. Alex put a hand on his arm and Ethan smiled weakly at him. He put his hand over his and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"How is she?" Brian asked.
"Well she's tired, but she's getting through it."
"How's Lynn?" Alex asked.
Ethan sighed and shook his head, "Andy thinks Lynn is fighting someone else. According to Andy, Lynn's been saying things that don't make sense. I don't know what's being said but that's what she's told me."
Brian was about to say something when the hotel phone rang again. Everyone looked confused and this time Alex went to answer it. When he picked it up he waved over to Brian, "It's Lynn."
Brian got up from his seat and went over to Alex as he put the phone on speaker. Ethan took that cue to step out on the balcony for a bit. They let him talk to Andy in private and he wanted to pay the same respect.
When Ethan was on the balcony that's when Justin joined the other two.
"Okay, the three of us are here." Alex said in a gentle voice.
"Are you okay?"
"Do you need anything?"
Justin and Brian said at the same time. They heard Lynn chuckle a little bit then sniffle.
"I don't know what's happening right now. I was not expecting for this go on this long. Half the things I say aren't adding up."
"Where's Andy?" Brian asked.
"She's taking a shower. We just called a truce so we could shower and eat something. I feel like when I'm yelling at Andy I'm not seeing Andy. I'm seeing-"
"Alexa?" Justin asked and there was a silence on the other end.
"Lyndsey?" Alex asked. There was silence.
"Lyndsey, you both are gonna get through this. Just talk it out. Don't argue just to argue. Don't let your past relationship destroy this one. Andy has been the best thing that's happen to you. Next to us of course." They all chuckled at what Alex said.
Then he cleared his throat and continued to talk, "Try not to yell at each and just talk to each other. Don't talk AT each other. Hear each other out and go from there. You two love each other and don't let something like this tear you two apart."
"What would I do without you guys?" They heard and they all sighed and smiled.
"We could ask you the same question." Justin said.
"Okay I have to go, the food just got here. I love you guys."
"We love you. Everything will be alright." Brian said and they heard the dial tone. They all looked at each other.
"She told us what Ethan told us when he talked to Andy." Justin said standing up and walked over to the balcony door and opened it. Ethan walked in and closed the door.
"Is she okay?" Ethan asked and they all went back to the table.
"She pretty much told us what you said not ten minutes." Brian said opening a bottle of beer.
"She even said that she feels like she's fighting some one else." Justin said looking at his cards.
Alex sighed, "And that some one else is Alexa."
"Wow. Well I wonder how long Andy is going to let that keep going." Ethan said taking a sip of his beer. The four restarted their game of poker and everyone once in a while would look at the hotel phone waiting for it to ring.
Andy put the tray of dishes outside of the hotel room. She put the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the knob and closed the door and locked it. She walked back into the room running her fingers through her hair and sighed. She saw Lynn sitting on one of the beds. With her knees pulled up to her chest and her arms wrapped around them.
Andy sat on the edge of the other bed with her back turned to her. They ate in silence on opposite ends of the room not knowing what to say to each other. At this point they both needed sleep but for some reason they couldn't bring themselves to it.
"I'm still trying to understand something." Lynn said.
Andy still having her back to her as she adjusted her watch, "Yeah, what's that?"
"That you still have pictures of ALL your exes on your profile. I got rid of all of mine. But why not you?"
Andy rested her elbows on her knees and rubbed her face in her hands. With a sigh with she took her hands away.
"I told you this> I don't know. I guess I just wanted to remember the good times and not the bad ones. Plus there were some of Michigan that I still have a hard time remembering and those pictures help."
"But don't you ever think about starting fresh with a new relationship?"
"Yes, I do. But I don't see how deleting pictures help. I like to look back on things and remember what a good times we had. I mean, don't you sometimes?"
"Sure, but I have those pictures in a box somewhere and when I feel sentimental I'll look at them."
"Okay, so we're both different on how we want to look a back on things. Just because you don't like those pictures doesn't mean I'm gonna take them down."
"So even if I ask you to, you're not going to do it?"
"No," Andy stood up and turned to her, "Why does this bother you so much?"
"After everything you've told me about your exes you kept their pictures! You would think when you see them you're brought back to everything they put you through!"
"Okay! But then, I take it as a lesson to not do it in a new relationship! How would you even know how a relationship works?! You've only been in one before me!" Andy immediately regretted those words.
"This coming from some one who has been cheated on, in THREE OF HER RELATIONSHIPS!" Lynn stood up and walked up to Andy wanting to slap her for what she said.
"So we're back to yelling! Let's wake up the FUCKING NEIGHBORS!"
"You're a real piece of shit right now!"
"Oh, really?! Wish I can say the same for you but I can't!"
"And why not?!"
"I don't know because I love you, and I want to make this work! Goddamn it! Even fighting with you is hard!" Andy sighed and walked over to the door that lead to the balcony.
"Every time you say something to insult me or just to try to take a stab at me, I say something to hurt you and it kills me! That's never happened to me before. But I'm going to keep going until you realize how much you're worth fighting for."
Andy sighed and Lynn looked at her in shock. Andy turned her back to her and put her hands on her hips. She looked down and shook her head and then looked back up. She looked out at the view they had and she stayed in that stance trying to figure out what to say next. She didn't want to bring it up but she had to.
"Are you fighting with me or are you fighting with her?" Andy finally asked.
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
Andy turned around and threw her hands in the air, "I mean, that half of the things you've said to me hasn't made any sense! You telling me that you're gonna change for me! You asking me if I've been talking to an ex or some one new! It's like you don't trust me, because of what happened to you!"
"And you trust me after what happened to you?!"
"Of course I do! We don't have to be around each other all the time otherwise we'll get annoyed with each other! We have our lives together and we have our lives apart! Then we meet in the the middle!"
"I don't want to have to worry about what you're doing all the time."
"And you don't have to!" Andy took a small step towards her, "You're the only one I want to be with. But you also have to understand that we each have our own personal stuff that we want to do alone or with other people."
"When was the last time you talk to ANY of your exes?"
Andy crossed her arms and looked at Lynn dead in the eye, "Vicki was when we were in Boston. Nicole same, in Boston. Ashley, Coachella for a brief moment. Jesse it's been nearly twelve years since we spoke. Trisha has been at least eight years and that was in Michigan. You know about Vicki and Nicole because you were there."
Lynn nodded remembering the times Andy had to deal with the two of them. She sighed and sat down on the bed. Andy leaned against the wall with her arms still crossed.
"Melissa is gonna have a field day." Lynn said and Andy scoffed and shook her head.
"Ya think?"
"Don't."
"Don't what?"
Lynn looked at her and scoffed, "I don't think I can take your sarcasm right now."
"Just how I can't take your sass right now either." Andy went over to one of the chairs and sat down. She rubbed her left knee and stretched it out a little bit. When she was done she put both her feet on top of the other bed and crossed her ankles. She looked down at her intertwined fingers and twiddle her thumbs.
"You're upset about the pictures I have. But you don't see me getting upset at the fact that you have your ex's voicemail on a track on your White Noise album."
"That was before we broke up and what she said worked with the song."
Andy nodded, "Okay, just like the pictures, they were BEFORE we broke up."
"But it still bothers me that they're up."
"And it bothers me that when I hear 'Eyelids' I hear your ex's voice at the end."
"So what, you're not gonna listen to that song anymore?"
"Gee, I don't know, you don't perform it anymore. Just how you don't perform ANY of the songs from your EP that people love. I've heard the crowds they want to hear them, but you refuse."
"It's because we've moved on from them. Why can't they see that?"
"Exactly! You've moved on!" Andy took her legs off the bed and leaned forward in her chair, "So if you've moved on from that EP, have you moved REALLY moved on from everything?"
"Of course I have! I'm in love with you! I've been with you for almost eight months!"
"I believe you when you say you love me. But I don't believe you when you say you've moved on."
"Have you moved on?"
"I have. I fully have. You've witnessed it a few times. Twice with Vicki. Twice with Nicole."
"Then, why don't you take those pictures down?!"
"Here we go." Andy sighed and leaned back in her chair.
"What are they saying?" Ethan asked Brian who had his ear against the door trying to listen.
"Something about moving on."
"Guys, we shouldn't be doing this." Alex said, he was pacing back and forth with his hands in his pockets.
"I agree with Alex, we shouldn't be listening." Justin said grabbing the last few bottles of beer from the fridge. He gave one to everyone and kept one for himself. They heard a rapid knocking on their door and they all looked at each other with confusion.
Ethan stood up and Alex started to slowly walk towards the door. He looked through the peep hole and his eyes widened.
"Um, guys, this isn't good." He said as he opened the door.
Kara, Erika, and Melissa all walked in without saying a word. They put down their purses and crossed their arms. No one said anything and they were all looking at each other.
"YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS?!" Everyone heard. That's when the three women looked at the connecting door then back at the four men looking back at them.
"How long have they been doing this?" Kara asked uncrossing her arms.
"Since around two this afternoon." Justin told her.
Erika looked at her watch, "Oh my God, it's almost midnight."
"You mean to tell me they've been in that room for the last eleven hours?" Melissa asked and they all nodded.
"Pretty much. We think they're taking everything out on each other." Brian said with a big sigh.
"We also think Lynn is taking some stuff out on Andy that she couldn't with Alexa." Alex told them.
"Plus Andy never liked confrontation, so she is also letting out some stuff. To be honest this might just be the FIRST fight she's ever been in with a girlfriend." Ethan said shaking his head.
"Wait a second," Justin started to say, "After all of Andy's relationships this is the FIRST time she's fighting with someone?"
Ethan shrugged, "Like I said she hates confrontation. I think a while ago I asked her why she never really had bad arguments with her girlfriends. She said that they weren't worth fighting for. I mean she and Nicole would get into it. Would only last like ten minutes though. Nicole used sex as a weapon. It worked on Andy all the time."
"Do you think this is because of their trust issues from their past relationships?" Melissa asked.
Ethan nodded, "Could be. I mean, Andy got cheated in three of her relationships."
"Wait who was the third?" Brian asked.
"Ashley. She left that little detail out." Ethan added.
"And same with Lynn. Well, the one she was in." Alex said considering what Melissa just said.
"Andy does trust too easily too." Ethan said walking over to the kitchen looking for something to eat.
"Well, we're here for damage control." Erika said.
"Figured. But damn you got here fast!" Brian was saying as he too walked into the kitchen.
"Why do we keep coming back to this shit?!"
"Because Andrea this whole story is every where now! Everyone is going to be talking about it!"
"I know that Lyndsey! Don't you think I know that?! I'm sure Melissa, Erika, and Kara on our their way here! Damage control! Not to mention your fans! I'm pretty sure I'm getting death threats at this point! Fuck!" Andy punched the table and then started to pace slowly.
Lynn wanted nothing more than to put her arms around her, but something was stopping her. Both of them were scared, hurt, angry, and still wanting to be with each other. They could have said it's over by now, but for some reason they just kept fighting with each other. Both just wanting to make things right again, just not knowing how to.
"What if you just kept one picture of each?"
"What?"
"What if you just keep one picture of each?" Lynn repeated.
Andy shook her head. This whole thing just got way out of hand and just went in so many different directions. But Lynn just couldn't let go of the fact that Andy still had pictures of her exes. Andy knew she should have deleted them, because yes, they did bring back horrible memories. However, at the same time she also remembered the good times. She started to think that Lynn may have a point of having her exes on her social media profile.
Andy sighed and looked at Lynn, "Can I give you an I'll think about it?"
Lynn nodded, "I can take that. How long do you need to think about it?"
"I don't know. That's pretty much about twelve years of my life I'm gonna be removing. I need to do this in steps."
"So what I'm going to have to wait longer?!"
Andy sighed and sat on the corner of one of the beds, "No! I mean- I don't know! I just need time. I should have deleted them a long time ago! I'm starting to see that! But I need time to! This has gotten out of hand."
"How has it gotten out of hand?"
Andy looked up at Lynn and scoffed, "This all started with that article, then it just escalated to these fucking pictures you can't get over! I feel like it's high school all over again."
"HIGH SCHOOL?! REALLY?!"
"After what I said that's what you take away?! Oh my God Lyndsey!" She stood up for what seemed like the hundredth time that night.
"Why do I feel like this is some how my fault?" Andy asked her.
"It's not your fault. It's the stupid tabloids and that bitch of an ex of yours."
"I can't argue with that."
For the first time they both agreed on something. Andy looked wanted to look at her watch to check the time but didn't. She knew it was almost dawn and that they needed some sort of rest soon. But Andy didn't want to go to sleep angry at Lynn, and Lynn was thinking the same thing.
Andy rubbed the back of her neck, "I need some air." She opened the sliding door that lead out to the balcony and stepped outside. She felt the cool breeze against her exposed skin. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. This was a first for her. Fighting with the woman she loves so she could keep what they have alive. Sure she had her little arguments with her exes but nothing like this.
This was different for her. But she couldn't help but feel what they've been doing felt right. Just letting everything out, even if it meant saying things to hurt each other. She's still confused about some of the things Lynn had said. She would shake it off and keep going with everything. The only thing is she didn't know was when to stop. She was pretty sure Lynn didn't know when to stop either.
Lynn watched as Andy leaned against the railing. She could see Andy's tense muscles. She didn't know how much longer she could keep going. Part of her just wanted to give up and apologize. She just wanted to feel Andy's arms around her and tell her that everything would be okay. But she just can't shake the fact that Andy still had pictures of her exes. Sure it seemed like a little thing, and Andy was right, this did seem like they were in high school.
She wanted to go to sleep, but she didn't want to go to sleep upset at Andy. She knew that the woman she loved felt the same. She stopped pacing when she heard Andy sigh and close the balcony door. They looked at each other both wanting to just hold each other. There were still some things they both wanted to say.
"I'm scared to check my phone. Both of our phones have been going off non stop." Lynn said looking at both of their cell phones on the dresser.
"Yeah, well I think what we're doing is more important right now."
"Says the person that has to check scores every hour."
"What's that got to do with anything?" For the first time Andy felt a bit of anger towards Lynn.
"I don't know. I'm just tired. Tired of fighting with you. Tired of bringing up the same bullshit. Tired of going in circles with you. I'm just tried of everything today." Lynn said finally laying down.
Andy nodded and sat down on the other bed looking at her watch, "Fuck, it's almost five in the morning." She rubbed her face with her hands and went to turn off the light. But Lynn stopped her.
"Wait," She sat up and looked at Andy. It never failed the both of them when they looked into each other's eyes. Their hearts would skip a beat and they would catch a breath in their throats. Even while they were fighting with each other they still felt that.
"Can we have another truce? Just until we wake up? Can you just hold me?"
Andy gave her a half smiled and nodded. She turned off the light as Lynn started to get the bed ready. Andy stood up and went over to the sliding door and saw the sun just breaking over the horizon. She heard the birds singing their morning song and she looked up at the purple orange sky sending up a silent prayer. Hoping everything would be okay when they wake up. She closed the curtain and turned to look at Lynn.
Lynn was getting settled in the bed and she felt Andy's eyes on her. She turned and gave her a small smile, "What?"
"Um, I just, uh," Andy started to say walking over to her. She wanted to tell her how beautiful she was. She wanted to tell her that she loved her, she wanted to tell her that everything was going to be okay.
But instead she asked, "Do you want the TV on or I can risk looking at my phone and setting up a meditation?"
"TV's fine, maybe like a movie channel or something? Nothing with commercials. I like it when something is continuous."
Andy nodded, "I'm the same way." She picked up the remote on the night stand and turned on the TV. After a few minutes she found a movie channel and turned down the volume. She put the remote down on the night stand and got into bed next to Lynn.
At first she didn't know what to do as she lied down and put her hand behind her head. She looked up at the ceiling and let out a long breath. She felt Lynn's arm wrap around her waist, and then her head was on her chest. She put her arm around her and pulled her close. She kissed the top of her head and closed her eyes just taking in her scent.
It was soon after she felt Lynn starting to breath deeply and she knew she was asleep. At this point she started to talk softly.
"I've never done this before. I've never fought for some one this hard. I want us to work. I want this to work. You're worth fighting for. I'm going to keep fighting until you see just how much you mean to me. I don't know why this is happening. I don't know where you're getting all this anger from.
But what I do know is that I'm so in love you. I love you with all that I'm am. I've told you this before and I'm going to tell you again, I'm in this for the long haul. I'm all in. I'll fight for us. I'll fight for you." She paused when she felt Lynn stir a bit.
After a few moments to make sure she was still asleep she continued to say what she couldn't say, "I had this dream while I was on the plane to meet you in Australia. We were on the beach and it was close to sunset. You were sitting on a blanket with something in your arms, and I was walking up to you. I was holding hands with a little boy that couldn't be more than three.
We got closer to you and you told us to be quiet because the baby was sleeping. The little boy kissed your cheek then looked down at the baby. I looked at you and smiled. I never had a dream like that before.
It scares me because I never thought I would see myself raising a family. But then I met you and everything changed. With you I'm feeling things I never thought I would feel. Losing you scares the fucking shit out of me. But so does the future. I do know that no matter what, when I'm with you, I know things will be okay."
Andy wiped a stray tear from her eye and softly cleared her throat, "I love you Lyndsey Gunnulfsen please remember that." She kissed the top of Lynn's head one more time and finally closed her eyes to let sleep take over.

Day 2:
"So the pictures are old ones?" Erika asked looking at Alex's phone and he nodded.
"Brian pointed out the difference."
"Well he's right. Andy has more tattoos and her hair isn't black anymore. Plus she's lost weight since these." Melissa said looking at Brian's phone.
Kara was on the phone with someone and she was pacing back and forth. Justin had his head against the connecting door hoping to hear something. Ethan was in the small kitchen making them breakfast.
After last night they all decided to get some sleep. Erika, Melissa, and Kara left the guys to go to their room. That's when the guys decided to try and get some sleep too. Justin and Brian left to go to their room. They all would meet back in the morning and try and figure things out.
They all went to sleep two hours before Andy and Lynn decided to call another truce so they could get some rest.
Justin walked away from the door and sat down at the table, "Well I can't hear anything. Was it quiet when you two went to bed?"
Alex shook his head, "I didn't really hear anything. I mean, we turned on the TV before we went to bed just in case they started back up again so we wouldn't hear them."
"Okay, Melissa, Erika, we need minute alone. Can we talk on the balcony?" Kara asked. The two women nodded and stood up from the table. They met Kara out on the balcony and closed the door.
Alex went into the kitchen and kissed Ethan on the cheek, "Do we have enough plates?" He asked looking in the cabinets.
"Not sure." He said flipping over some strips of bacon.
Alex looked some more and smiled, "Just the right amount. Want me to start setting them up?"
"Sure, everything should be done in the next few minutes." He said with a smile then he looked at Alex and saw his worried face.
"Are you okay?"
"I don't know. I'm worried about Lynn, Andy, what everyone is gonna think. I'm pretty sure Andy is getting some hate mail by now."
Ethan turned down the heat on the stove and put his arms around Alex, "They're going to work everything out. As for the media, Kara, Erika, and Melissa will figure something out. They actually might start with you and Brian just to release some sort of statement."
Alex nodded and knew he was right. He leaned against Ethan and smiled, "How do you always know what to say?"
Ethan chuckled and gave him a small kiss, "I don't always know love. I just say what I feel is right." He gave Alex another kiss and went back to the stove. Together they started to put together everyone's plate for breakfast.
Lynn woke up and looked at the alarm clock on the night stand. The red numbers read it was close to ten in the morning. She rolled over and sighed remembering everything from yesterday. She sat up and looked down at a sleeping Andy. She looked so peaceful and at ease. She heard what she said last night.
She pretended to be asleep and tried not to let her tears fall on Andy's chest. She got up from the bed and stretched. She went over to her suitcase to grab some clothes. She heard Andy stir and looked over at her to make sure she wasn't having a nightmare.
She waited a few more moments and breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't see her thrash about. She got dressed and sat down on the other bed. She looked at Andy and smiled a little.
"You know, I never thought I would see myself in love again and then you came along. That night in Charlotte, when I was up there on stage I kept looking for you. Every night since then I would look for you in the crowd. For some reason you're this calm to my storm and I can't explain it. When our eyes locked for the first time I knew you would be special to me for some reason. Little did I know that you would change my whole world.
When I didn't hear from you when your cousin died, I was so worried. I didn't know if I did something wrong, or if you found some one else that was better than me. Some one who would be around more. Some one who wasn't going to be gone for months on end. But then you finally reached out to me." She smiled and gave a small chuckle.
"Our first date, was my very first date. I never really been on a date until you came along. You make me feel like I'm wanted. Safe. Loved. Needed. I don't remember feeling any of that before. I'm so in love with you and I want us to stop this fighting and move forward. I know we never really talked about the future, but I know I see myself spending the rest of my life with you. I know it's only been eight months, but this is how I feel.
When I think about our future, I see us with kids and being happy. It took me a long time to be happy with myself and just when I was accepting that; I met you. You made everything better. I don't get into my head as much and you help me see things clearly. I want this fighting to end. I just want us to be okay again. I love you Andrea Hill with all my heart. I will never stop loving you."
She found herself kneeling by Andy and she had her hand in hers. She kissed her hand and noticed something on her left hand. It was her ring on her ring finger. The one that she only took off when she would take a shower, or put lotion on her hands. But what was it doing on her left ring finger? Why was she just noticing it just now? She stood up and went to the connecting door. She unlocked and opened it up. She slowly closed it and saw everyone looking at her with shocked expressions.
Before anyone could react she went over to Ethan and grabbed his arm. She practically dragged him out of his seat and they went to the balcony and closed the door.
"Lynn what-?"
"Andy's wearing her ring on her left ring finger." She told him before he could ask.
Ethan looked at her and tried not to smile, "The 'Walk By Faith' ring?"
Lynn nodded, "Yeah, I just noticed it. I know what that ring means to her. I mean I know it's the one I got her as a replacement for her old one one. But she's not wearing any other ones. From far away it looks like a wedding band."
"Okay, but you wear a ring on your left finger." Lynn glared at him.
He cleared his throat, "Alright well, you wear a ring on almost all your fingers. But still."
"That's not the point. Did she mention anything about switching her ring to her other finger?"
Ethan sighed, "When Andy is in a committed relationship she puts a ring on her left finger to have people back off from her when she goes out, to a bar or a club."
"So she's done this before with her past relationships?"
Ethan nodded, "Yeah, but wait you said she wearing it now?"
She nodded, "I just noticed it while she was sleeping."
"Huh, well that's a first. I thought she switched it back."
"What are you talking about?"
"When we were in Wisconsin, before we went out to the bar I saw her switch her ring to her left ring finger. I teased her about being married to you already. She just smiled and told me to shut up. She said she would switch it back when we got to California so she wouldn't freak you out. But I didn't know that she kept it on. I thought she switched it back."
Lynn leaned against the railing not knowing what to say. After she just said that she could see spending the rest of her life. Andy was already ahead of her. She didn't know whether to be happy or a little freaked out.
"Thanks for telling me." She said and walked back into the room. She made a beeline for the connecting door ignoring everyone that asked if she was okay. She opened the door and walked into her room. She closed the door quietly and locked it on her side. Andy was still sleeping and she couldn't blame her, they had a long night.
She looked down at Andy's left hand and this time she smiled. Then she looked at her left ring finger and started to really wonder. Since October all she thought about was Andy and how she made her feel alive again. She fell in love with Andy that night she met her parents in Boston.
They weren't even together at that point but that's when she knew she was in love again. For her it was way too soon to start feeling that way. She thought it was just part of the honeymoon phase but it wasn't.
She heard Andy starting to wake up. She quickly grabbed the room service menu and pretended to look at it.
Andy sat up and rubbed her face. She let out a sigh and then rubbed her eyes getting the morning stars out of them. She looked over and saw the empty space by her side. She shook her head and threw the covers off of her.
She swung her legs over and looked up and saw Lynn looking at the menu. She was shocked to see her sitting there. She thought she left. Then again, after last night she was half expecting Lynn to still be asleep.
Andy reached for the menu and Lynn looked up, "Good morning sleepy head." Lynn said with a small smile.
Andy returned the smile, "Good morning. Why don't I make us some breakfast? I bought some things the other day. So that way we wouldn't have to keep ordering stuff. Just let me brush my teeth first, and I'll get started on making us some breakfast."
Lynn nodded, "Sounds good." Andy smiled and stood up. She stretched and made her way into the bathroom. She heard Andy fumble around in the bathroom and she couldn't help but smile. Andy really couldn't do anything until she brushed her teeth first. One of Andy's little quirks she would have to get used to.
She heard a low knocking on the connecting door. She looked towards the bathroom wondering if Andy heard. When she didn't come out she stood up and went over to it.
She unlocked and opened it. She saw Kara giving her a small smile, "Hey can we come in?" Lynn looked back at the bathroom and she nodded opening the door further letting in Kara, Erika, and Melissa. Once they were all inside she closed the door.
Andy came out of the bathroom and looked up to see the three women standing there with Lynn, "What's going on?" She finally asked.
"Uh, we're here to figure out how this article got out. We've reached out to the people that released it. They said Nicole approached them with a story about how you left Lynn. They said they got the pictures from her and she had text messages to prove that you left Lynn." Kara started to explain.
"Okay, wait, what text messages?" Andy asked crossing her arms. Kara took out her phone and looked through it. When she found what she was looking for she gave to Andy. Lynn came over to her and they both started to read the text messages.
"These don't make any sense. Plus this isn't my phone number. Look at the dates, all of these started we when were in California. Then, they stopped and picked up again when we were in South Korea." Andy said.
She gave Kara's phone to Lynn and she went to the dresser and picked up her phone. She cleared away all her notifications and went to her text messages.
"Alright look, these are all of my text messages to Lynn and look at the dates. They aren't adding up. Here look, during Coachella I didn't even text Lynn. I called her. Look at these, they were during the festival." She gave her phone to them and they all started to look through both phones.
"We could use this. This is proof that Nicole has been lying the entire time. Can we use this?" Lynn asked looking at the three women with hopeful eyes.
"We can try. I threatened legal action against them and they were quick to release these. We do have to release a statement about all this. But that's up to you two. Andy, I'm sure you're getting a lot of hate mail right now." Kara said.
Andy shook her head, "This is the first time I've looked at my phone since yesterday."
There was a hard rapid knocking on the door. Everyone looked confused they weren't expecting anyone. Everyone that they wanted to talk to was either in this room or in the next.
Andy went to answer the door, "Hey at least we know that it wasn't me." She opened the door.
"Where the fuck is she?! YOU BITCH!" Andy heard and the next thing she knew she felt a fist connect with her jaw. She stumbled back and saw a very angry Nate standing there. All she saw was red at this point.
"MOTHERFUCKER!" She yelled running towards him and tackled him to the ground. They landed in the hallway of the hotel. Both struggling to gain domonice over each other. Each landing punches anywhere they could on each other.
Ethan opened the door to his hotel room and saw Andy and Nate fighting.
"ANDY STOP!" He yelled and tried to break up the fight. He grabbed Andy's arm and she turned around and punched her best friend hard square in the jaw. He fell back and he was out cold.
"You fucking stole her from me you cunt!" Nate said. Andy in a blind rage tackled him again to the ground and this time she held him down.
"YOU STOLE HER FIRST!" She yelled and started to punch him with all her might. She was able to get a few more punches in when she felt herself getting pulled off of him.
"LET ME FUCKING GO!" She yelled as Justin started to drag her back to her hotel room. Alex was trying help Ethan come to, and Brian was able to get Nate up on his feet and brought inside the other room.
When Justin got her into the room Lynn, Melissa, Kara, and Erika followed. Andy shoved Justin off of her she started to breath heavily and paced up and down the room.
"Andy," Justin started to say.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP! I need to calm down! FUCK!" She punched the wall luckily not leaving a hole, but she did hear a crack in her hand. Her adrenaline was pumping and she really needed to calm down.
"Lynn, go see if Ethan's awake." Melissa said to her and Lynn just nodded. Lynn went into the other room and saw Nate sitting at the table with a bloody lip, a broken nose, a swollen eye as well as a swollen cheek.
"Where's Nicole?!" He asked when he saw Lynn come into the room.
"Not here! How the fuck did you even find us?!"
"I follow you guys on social media. Saw some of your posts. Plus dad just bought this hotel." He finished in a cheeky tone. Lynn rolled her eyes and looked around the room. She saw Ethan lying down on the bed with Alex next to him.
"How is he?" She asked walking up to them.
"Kind of coming out of it. Andy hit him pretty hard."
"Shit. Andy can't calm down and we were hoping that he could help."
"How does she look?" Brian asked coming up to her.
Lynn shook her head, "I don't know, I didn't really get a good look at her. But I think she broke her hand AGAIN! I'll go check on her, and keep him the fuck away from us until we figure this shit out!"
She said and went back to her room slamming the door behind her. She sighed and looked around the room. Andy was sitting at the table and she didn't look as bad as Nate did. She had a black eye, a swollen lip, a cut on her cheek, and some bruising on her other cheek. She had her hand on the table and a small towel with ice on top of it.
"Is it broken?" Lynn asked her and Andy nodded.
"I'm pretty sure."
"Okay, the doctor is on her way to check you over. We need to set this straight. Get that boy in here and we're going to talk this out." Melissa said getting off of her phone. Justin nodded and left the room. It didn't take him long before he brought Nate into the room.
He sat him down on one of the beds. Andy was on the other side of the room sitting at the table. Melissa looked at the both of them and rolled her eyes.
"Okay, you," Melissa said pointing at Nate, "Why are you here?"
"I'm here because my fiance up and left me back in April. Claiming that Andy wanted to get back together. So I started to follow Andy on social media just to see if it was true. But all I kept seeing was pictures of her and Lynn. Or of Ethan or the other guys. Nicole was no where to be found on any of Andy's stuff." He took the towel off of his nose and shook his head.
"We're supposed to get married in November. But she kept going on and on about Andy and how she screwed up with her. I thought that if I just showed her how much I love her, and just kept her close she would forget about Andy. But I started to notice her being on her phone a lot. She kept telling me it was old friends she came back into contact with. She would talk on the phone in the other room and it would sound like she was flirting. I didn't think anything of it until I heard her say Andy's name."
Andy finally looked up at him and their eyes met, "Look, Nate I don't know what's been going on with her. The last time I even saw her was New Years Eve back in Boston. She told us that you two were engaged. I haven't had ANY contact with her since then. She's blocked on everything. I even had the phone company block her number from my phone. I even created a new e-mail just to be safe. So I don't know what she's trying to pull. What I do know is that she needs to stop trying to ruin my life. Now she has to stop ruining yours."
"The question is, who is helping her do this?" Erika asked.
"Get the others, we could use all the help we can get." Melissa said to Kara and she nodded. There was a knock on the door and Lynn went to answer it. A woman in her thirties explained who she was and Lynn invited her in. She took a look at Andy and then Nate and she shook her head.
"Well let's see. I'll look at you first." She said to Nate and sat down next to him. She opened her medical bag and started to get to work.
Brian, and Alex helped Ethan into the room and walked him over to the table. Andy looked at her best friend with wide eyes, "Oh my God! Did he hit you?!"
Ethan smiled and shook his head, "No, you did."
Her eyes went even wider, "Oh my God! I'm so sorry! When I heal up you can hit me as hard as you can."
Ethan laugh and shook his head, "I forgot how hard you can hit."
"If you two are done, we need to figure out who's helping Nicole with all of this." Melissa said again rolling her eyes.
"It's Vicki." Andy said without missing a beat.
"How do you know?" Brian asked.
"Lynn and Angel saw them together in Boston New Years Day. They both are manipulative, trust me I know they got to me plenty of times. They've hurt me in many more ways than one. But why now? Why come out with all of this?"
"To mess with you. To cause a fight between you and Lynn." Ethan spoke up and everyone looked at him.
"Andy, do you remember what you told me in Wisconsin? About after you and Trisha broke up?" He asked and Andy nodded.
"You had hope that you two were getting back together. But when you moved back you met Nicole. While you were with Nicole, Vicki was trying to get you back again. Then, when you and Nicole broke up, every three months or so Nicole would fill you up with this false hope. Just when you moved on and you're happy they pop up. For some twisted reason these two don't want you to be happy unless it's with one of them."
Everyone looked at Ethan as if he grew another head. But Andy knew he was right about everything. It all started to make sense. These last couple of years started to really make sense. Just when she thought she was moving on, her past would come to haunt her. She really wished they would just stop.
"We have proof that it's Nicole but, how do we prove that it's Vicki?" Kara asked.
"Nate," Andy spoke up and he looked at her. "You can try to get her to talk to you. Just ask her why she left. Why she TRULY left you. OR you can have her followed. I mean you have enough money to hire some one to follow her. That's the only way."
"Yeah but how do I find her?"
"Did you NOT hear the part about you can have her followed?" Andy asked sarcastically. The doctor looked at Nate and shook her head.
"Alright you got some bruising on your sides, might have get some x-rays just to make sure you didn't break any ribs." She stood up and looked over at Andy with a stern look.
"She kind of reminds me of Madam Pomfrey right now." Justin whispered to Lynn who just shook her head and chuckled. The doctor took her bag and went over to Andy. She stood in front of Ethan waiting for him to get up. It took him a few minutes to realize what was happening and he finally stood up. She gave him a smile and sat down in the chair.
"Okay let's take a look at that hand of yours." She said taking off the towel and ice. She saw the swelling and bruising, then she looked up at Andy with a concern look.
"Did you break this before?"
Andy nodded, "Yeah, back in June. Ethan slammed a car door shut on it." The doctor let out a little "tsk," and started to get to work on what she could do. She tried as gently as she could to work with Andy's hand.
Andy let out a wince as the doctor tried to figure out just where her hand was broken. She touched a certain part and Andy nearly jumped out of her seat, "FUCK! Sorry, it just really hurt whatever you did."
"I'm sorry I just had to see where it was broken."
Andy nodded and Lynn was by her side in a instant and took her other hand. She smiled at her and Lynn returned the smile.
"Guess we're gonna have a longer truce today." Andy said.
Lynn smiled and nodded, "Yeah, for now. I know we still have a lot t-"
"MOTHERFUCKER!" Andy yelled and the doctor looked at her with an apologetic look.
"Okay, we're gonna have to get you to the hospital. But one more thing, I've noticed that your breathing is kind of labored. Can you stand and lift up your shirt for me?"
Andy nodded and let go of Lynn's hand as she stood up. She used her good hand to lift up her shirt. She winced a little and everyone saw what caused it. There was blue, black, and yellow bruising on her side. The doctor nodded and quickly started to pack up her bag.
"You have to come with me now. I need to get her to the hospital."
"What's wrong?" Lynn asked looking at the doctor then back at a surprised Andy.
"I think she has a broken rib, and I think that rib might have punctured her lung. I'm not sure. But her breathing is a little off and I just want to make sure that what I think didn't happen. I also have to get that hand set as soon as possible. Now, the more we sit and talk about this the more time we waste and Andy's lung could be at risk."
Andy was getting her shoes on or a least trying to with Ethan's help. The doctor looked at Nate, "You're coming too. I gotta get a look at your side as well." Nate just nodded and stood up standing next to the doctor. They waited for Andy to stand up. It was getting harder for her to breath at this point and Ethan was helping her walk. When they reached them the doctor nodded and opened the door for them. She looked back at everyone and sighed.
"Melissa, I have your number. I'll let you know if anything happens. Thank you for the information about Andy's condition I'll keep a close eye on her."
"Let me come with you." Lynn said as she reached for her jacket and the doctor held up her hand.
"I'll call, right now she needs to be fixed up. I'll bring her back as soon as I can." She gave Lynn a reassuring smile and gently touched her arm. "I'll take good care of her, I promise."
Lynn nodded and Kara came over to her and put her arm around her, "Andy's in good hands. We'll be here. Plus we still have to figure out what to say to the press." Again Lynn nodded and looked back at the doctor.
"Bring her back to me."
The doctor nodded, "I will." With that the doctor walked out of the room and into the hallway where the three were waiting.
***********************************************************************************
"Okay, the statement is out and settled. Now we just have to figure out where Nicole and Vicki are." Erika said getting off of her phone.
No one really left the room since the doctor left with Andy, Nate, and Ethan. Lynn's mind just kept going back to Andy and hoping she was okay. The fight between Nate and Andy was really intense. During one of their late night talks Andy mentioned she had gotten into pretty bad fights when she was younger. But Lynn never expected something like this. Kara noticed Lynn standing on the balcony with her arms around herself.
She stood up and made her way over to her, "Penny for your thoughts?" She asked and Lynn gave her a small smile.
"I'm just worried about Andy. We had a huge fight yesterday and last night about the article. Then, it escalated to me wanting to take down the pictures of her exes. I don't know where most of the things I said came from. It's like I was fighting with Alexa." Lynn shook her head and sighed.
Kara gave her a small smile, "You and Alexa didn't really have any full blown arguments though. Just more of disagreements and then you both never really solved anything until Christmas."
"Yeah, that's true, but I still feel all this anger towards her. When she was in that fight with Nate earlier I heard her say that he stole Nicole first. That stung a little."
"But put yourself in her shoes for a second Lyndsey. She was with Nicole for a long time. I'm pretty sure what we saw today was built up rage for what he did. I mean don't tell me you didn't think about doing the same thing to Cacie."
Lynn thought for a moment and couldn't help but think that Kara as right. She would have fought with Cacie.
She sighed and looked at Kara, "You're right I might have done the same thing. But I'm not really a fighter in that kind of sense."
Kara nodded, "But you are a fighter in wanting to keep your relationship with Andy. I heard you both were fighting way into the early hours of the morning."
Lynn shook her head, "Yeah ever since that article yesterday. We fought about that, her exes pictures, I said something about how I should change for her. But she didn't tell me to change. I don't know what's going on. But we're trying to get back to each other I know that much."
Kara took Lynn's hand in hers and smiled, "You know that day I first met her I knew there was something about her. I also saw something in your eyes. You weren't smiling, but your eyes were. Do you remember that night she came to my office after Melissa showed up?"
Lynn nodded and let out a small chuckle, "I slapped her and she didn't even blink."
"I gave her this two pieces of paper. One was with what I thought about you and Alexa. The other what I thought about you and Andy."
"What did they say?"
Kara smiled and was about to tell her but Erika came out onto the balcony and gave them a small smile, "So Melissa just got off the phone with the doctor."
"And?" Lynn asked looking at her waiting for an answer.
"Well she's in a cast again. This time her hand is broken in four places unlike last time when it was broken in two. So she'll be in a cast for a lot longer."
"What about her side?"
"Now that is a little problem. She does have three broken ribs and there is a small puncture in her lung. The doctor said that it wasn't anything serious. She'll be able to leave in the morning. They just want to keep her for observation just to make sure nothing major happens. But all in all she's going to be okay. As for Nate he's fine just a few bruised ribs, and a broken nose."
"Can I see her?"
Erika took Lynn's other hand, "Right now, we still need to deal with the media. I know it's the last thing on your mind. Yet this is something we have to deal with."
Lynn nodded she knew she was right they had to deal with the media crisis. But she still would have Andy on her mind. She still had so many things left unsaid that she wanted to say. She let of of their hands and walked into the room from the balcony.
She found her phone on the table and cleared away her notifications. She started to type away hoping Andy would see her message. She just wanted to let her know that she was thinking about her. That she still wanted to work through everything. This is worth fighting for. She hit send and sat down in one of the chairs.
She felt some one put their hand on her arm and she looked up and saw Alex smiling back at her. She looked at him and smiled. Then noticed his look went from a smile to a concern look. That's when she felt the tears behind her eyes and she just let it all out.
Alex moved closer to her and and put his arm around her. Justin and Brian went over to them and did the same. They knew she needed them right at this moment. They also wanted to let her know that she didn't need someone to be with to make her happy. They were always going to be there for her no matter what. She was always there for them and they were always there for her. They were a family and always will be.
The three women watched the four of them and smiled. Then, they looked at each other with knowing looks. They really hoped that this article wouldn't hurt Andy and Lynn anymore than it already had. The three of them knew the two would pull through. They just had to get past their trust issues and realize they love each other.
Tomorrow is a new day and with it would be a new start for Andy and Lynn. Hopefully things would go back to the way they were or maybe better. It was just the waiting game now. Maybe this time apart would help clear their heads and they would be able to work things out for the better.
