Chapter 25: All through the Season, You’ve Been the Reason
∞&hearts♥∞
The days leading up to New Year's Eve went fast. I was a little nervous about proposing to Chris, but not half as nervous as I had been before he had proposed to me. I mean, this would now be a no-brainer. Gee, if he asked me to marry him, what would his answer be when I asked him to marry me? Gee, I wonder. Oh well. It would all be worth it to see the look of surprise on his face when I proposed. No to mention getting back my status as the man in the relationship. Ha!
“So remind me again why were going back to the Space Needle? We were here before. I’m sure you’ve been here a ton of times.” Chris smirked.
I rolled my eyes. “Here I am trying to do something nice for you on New Year's Eve, and all you do is ask why we’re here.”
“I’m sorry. If you want to go here again, that’s fine by me. I’m just surprised. I thought you would have had a big New Year's Eve party planned with Cisco and Ethan or something.” He smiled at me, took my hand in his own, and kissed it. It felt weird for him to be doing things like that in public now. I was really surprised that there hadn’t been any recent reports of Chris and I being more than friends.
“They do have a party going on later, but I thought it would be nice to spend our first and probably only New Year's Eve as an engaged couple together alone. We can always go to the party later if you want,” I told him. The truth was, I kind of did want to go to that party, but tonight was too special to waste time on a party—at least right away.
“Well, then I’m happy to be here alone with you.” He kissed my cheek this time.
I smiled. I was still too nervous to kiss his lips in public. “I made us reservations at Sky City, which is the restaurant here, in case you didn’t know.” I motioned towards the Space Needle.
His face lit up, and I knew I hadn’t made a mistake. “Really? Up there?” He pointed.
I nodded. “That’s where it is!”
“That is so cool! Better than any stupid party!”
I grinned. “So, are you going to stop asking questions like 'why are we here’ now?”
He rolled his eyes and smiled. “One more question. What are we just standing here for?”
“Now that’s a good question!” I said.
He grinned too, and we held hands as we headed to get to the restaurant. I knew us holding hands was going to alert the public, and possibly the media, but I really didn’t care. They would have a whole lot more to talk about soon anyway.

“This place is beautiful, Blake,” I said sincerely as we sat down together at our table. I looked out the window, and the view was just breathtaking. I had been a lot of restaurants in my life, but nowhere as beautiful as this one.
“Nothing but the best for my future husband.” He laughed. “If you had asked me three or four years ago if I would end up being this domestic, I would have died laughing.”
I turned my attention back to him, grinning. “Love can do that to you.”
“Apparently,” he agreed.
Our waiter took our drink orders, and then we looked over the menu. Blake had purchased some kind of package thing that included a six course meal. I knew I was going to be so full I could burst by the time we left.
I whistled as I saw the prices. “Man, this place is mad expensive!”
He shrugged. “It’s not like we can’t afford it now. The package deal helps. Besides, you should see the prices of the Eiffel Tower restaurant in Paris. I’ve never been there, but I heard they are phenomenal.”
“I bet,” I agreed.
I decided what I wanted to eat, as did Blake, and when our waiter came back with our drinks, we ordered. Once the waiter had left, Blake gave me that sly little smile.
“So, I was thinking, I know we’ll be spending most of our time in the bedroom anyway, but we should still pick a nice place for our honeymoon since we might venture out of the bedroom eventually.” He winked at me.
I laughed. “Do you have anywhere in mind?”
“Should we do a cruise?” he asked.
I thought about it. “We could. There will be a lot of people though. I know we’ll have our own room, but if anyone recognizes us, we may be harassed the whole time we’re not in our room on the ship. I love the fans, but I don’t feel like spending our honeymoon posing for pictures, signing autographs, and answering questions.”
He nodded. “Point made. We can always go on a cruise for one of our anniversaries, or simply for just a vacation later.”
“Exactly!” I took a sip of my soda.
“Well, how about somewhere Tropical? Jamaica sounds nice. Or the Cayman Islands. There’s also Cancun.”
I shook my head. “I don’t feel like going to Mexico. Cancun can get pretty wild. I want somewhere more laid back. I’m sorry. I know I’m being difficult.”
“You’re not being difficult. I want you to tell me where you don’t want to go, because I want to make sure that where we choose is a place we both want to go.”
I placed my hand overtop of his on the table. “Thank you. The Cayman Islands or Jamaica sound nice though. I know they have some pretty nice resorts in Jamaica, like Sandals and Beaches. I always thought it would be nice to go somewhere like that.”
“Well, then let’s go to Jamaica. We can look into one of those places, or stay in both if you want.” He grinned.
I smiled. “Just one will do. Like you said, we’ll be in the bedroom most of the time anyway.
He moaned, and I smiled even brighter; proud of myself.

Dinner was great, we had decided on definitely going to Jamaica for our honeymoon. After the new year, I planned to check out online the resorts he was talking about. Now all we needed was a wedding date.
“So, when should we get married?” I asked as we dug into our dessert.
“I’d say Valentine’s Day, but that’s kind of cliched. Besides, that’s less than two months away. I don’t think we can plan our wedding in that short of time. Do you have any ideas?”
“Well, it’s a semi-long ways away, but if you’re not opposed to a prolonged engagement, how about we marry November 11th?” I asked.
He looked up at me, a forkful of chocolate cake held up to his lips. “The anniversary of the day we met?”
“Unless that’s too cheesy,” I said.
“Blake, it’s perfect. It seems you get more romantic every day.” He set his fork down, and took my hands in his from across the table. “So, November 11th then?”
I nodded, and rubbed my thumbs against his hands. “November 11th,” I agreed, my eyes locked with his.
“This is so exciting! We actually have the date set.” He went back to eating his dessert, so I went back to eating mine. “Most couples wait a bit to set a date, but we set one right away. Go us.”
I laughed. “Well, when two people love each other as much as we do, why wait?”
“Good point,” he agreed, nodding as he ate.
We finished our dessert, and then I paid the bill and left the tip.
“You didn't have to pay, you know. I could have paid it,” Chris said as we headed to the observation deck.
I subconsciously ran my hand over the pocket that contained his engagement ring. “Tonight’s a special night. I wanted to pay. Besides, all the money we make is going to be both of ours soon anyway, right?”
He nodded. “What’s yours is mine, and what’s mine is yours.”
We met up with the lady that would be taking us up ti the observation deck, as well as with the group of people we would be heading up with, and then finally we were all headed up to the observation deck.
It didn’t take too long to get up there, and once we were up there, I saw just how many people there were. It being New Years’ Eve, there was a party going on. The Space Needle always hosted a party up on the observation deck on New Year's Eve. It would have been nice to be able to rent it out for an hour or so, so that it could be just Chris and I, but not even I was that big of a star. If I was Madonna or Elton John then maybe. Elton, I was not. Well, except for the whole married to a man thing. I would be married to a man soon enough.
“Not that I’m complaining, because this is like the coolest thing ever, but I m really surprised you’re choosing to party up here with strangers instead of with our friends,” Chris said as we headed to one of the few empty spots on the deck.
I shrugged. “We can have a party with them anytime. I have a surprise for you later. I wanted to give it to you somewhere special.”
“A surprise for me? But I didn’t get you anything. I didn’t think New Year's Eve was a gift-giving holiday. I feel bad now.” He frowned.
“Don’t feel bad! It’s not a gift-giving holiday. This is just a little something extra I bought for you.” I placed an arm around him. “Do you want to dance? We still have two hours.” I hadn’t wanted to wait around much, but dinner later than eight-thirty was too ridiculous. I made the eight-thirty reservation, and then it had taken a while to get through all our courses, so we had finished dinner at a little before ten o’clock. I didn’t want to propose before the New Year came, so that left us two hours to play with.
He smiled. “Sure. We need to burn off all that food we ate anyway.”
I laughed. “Very true. Let’s head to the Sky Lounge. They have jazz there.”
Chris nodded his agreement, and took my hand.
We then headed towards the Sky Lounge.
I wished the two hours would hurry up and get here. I was eager to propose.
I pat the pocket that held the ring one more time, and then followed Chris into the lounge.

Dancing with Blake was so much fun! I wasn’t a huge fan of jazz music, but to be dancing with him here in the Sky Lounge… We could have been dancing to Barney songs, and I would have been happy.
“So, are you enjoying the night so far?” Blake asked with a smile.
I smiled too. “What do you think?”
“I don’t know. You keep saying you’re surprised we don’t go party with our friends instead.” He smirked, and I knew he was just teasing me.
“It’s a pleasant surprise that you’d rather be here with me alone than partying with a group of friends,” I nuzzled my cheek against his.
“Well, good. I’m glad you’re enjoying this. I hope you enjoy it even more come midnight.”
I raised an eyebrow. “What’s midnight?”
He smiled. “You’ll just have to wait and see.” He winked.
“You strip off all your clothes and give me a lap dance?” I joked.
“Right in front of everyone here?” He motioned around the room.
I laughed. “It would be a memorable New Year’s Eve, that’s for sure. Then again, I don’t want anyone but me seeing you naked.
“Mm… That can be arranged.” He held me closer.
I closed my eyes, and rested my head against his as we continued to dance. This was Heaven on earth…
B∞C
The two hours seemed to go by so slow. I mean, how long can you dance to jazz music? We did get to sit down with some drinks, but still. I didn’t want to drink too much, so I only had one glass of Champaign, as did Chris.
Finally, it was nearing midnight, so we headed back to the observation deck and secured our place. For a moment, after looking at all the people around, I was contemplating proposing to Chris back at my Seattle home instead. I didn’t know if it was such a good idea proposing to him with everyone there to see. Then I thought better of turning back. This was a once in a lifetime thing. It would be more romantic to propose there than it would be at home. Besides, most of the people here were either all ready too drunk to care, or would be too wrapped up with the person they had come with to pay any attention to Chris and I.
A minute later, and the count down began.
Chris grinned at me, and I grinned back. Now was the time.
I took out the ring from my pocket.
Everyone had been counting down from sixty-seconds, and were almost to the halfway mark.
Forty! Thirty-nine! Thirty-eight! Thirty-seven!
I his the ring box in my closed palm and leaned closer to Chris so that I could speak right in his ear. “You know, when you proposed to me, you kind of ruined my surprise for you.”
He smirked. “What do you mean?”
Twenty-nine! Twenty-eight! Twenty-seven! Twenty-six! Twenty-five!
“Well, you see, I was going to propose to you. You just got to me first before I could get to you.” My lips were so close to his ear, that the bottom one brushed his lobe.
Fifteen! Fourteen! Thirteen! Twelve!
I got down on one knee, and I flipped the lid open. “I know you’ve already asked me this, but now it’s my turn to ask you.”
Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven!
“Christopher Michael Richardson, you are my everything. Heck, my sun rises and sets on you, and all that stuff you hear lovers say to each other in the soap operas and movies. “Will you marry me and make my sun continue to rise and set?”
Happy New Year!
I stood up and kissed him, not even waiting for his response.
He wrapped his arms tightly around me, and kissed me back.
I moaned as his tongue played with mine as if fighting for dominance.
When he broke the kiss, he grinned at me. “You kissed me in public,” he said with a wink.
I smiled. “Yeah. I guess I did.” I hadn’t even thought of it in the heat of the moment. I had just wanted to kiss him at midnight. My smile turned into a grin. “You kissed me back. Does this mean it’s a yes?” As if there were any doubt in my mind.
“It will be once you put that beautiful ring on my finger,” he said, extending his left ring finger to me.
I laughed, and slid the ring on his finger. It looked as if it was meant to be on his finger. Actually, it was.
He kissed me, and then nodded towards the elevator. “Let’s go back home. I want to celebrate our engagement again.”
“With pleasure!” I said, grabbing his hand and practically dragging him to the elevator.
He was grinning the whole time, as was I. It was my turn to make him mine now, and I could hardly wait.
B∞C
Boy was had I been surprised when Blake proposed to me. I never would have guessed that he had had the same idea to propose. I felt bad for ruining his proposal by proposing first, but at the same time, I was glad that I had gotten to him first before he had gotten to me. Now, as he was making love to me, I knew that his proposal hadn’t been ruined, ruined, per say. Actually, it was still special because I was still surprised. Not to mention his proposal had been even more romantic than mine had been.
He kissed me, and I kissed him back, my fingertips digging into his back as he hit the spot that was rapidly bringing me closer to the edge.
I couldn’t think anymore. He was making me feel too good to think.
We continued to kiss, and I clenched my muscles around him as he entered me. His moans gave a good indication that he was as close as I was.
It didn’t take long for us both to have our climaxes. He didn’t even swear this time. He just whispered my name in my ear over and over again along with how much he loves me.
“Blake... I love you to…” I moaned, still feeling my climax rushing over me. He always made it so good…
We continued to kiss until we were both back in he right mindset again.
I rested my head on his chest, and he took my left hand in his left hand, examining both our rings at the same time.
“What made you pick this one? I love it so much,” Blake said, looking at his own ring.
“I wanted to get your birth stone, which of course is the ruby. I also wanted to get one that looked like an engagement ring, yet not too girly. Another bonus was that I liked that it has the traditional diamonds,” I explained. “Why did you pick this one? It’s perfect. I’m glad you chose it.” I smiled at my ring.
“Remember that dream you had that you told me about when you came back on the show to get ready for the finale?”
I nodded. “Sort of. You proposed to me in it.”
He nodded too. “Yeah, and you said that in your dream, I wanted us to be associated with each other by us both wearing a black ring. So, I got you a ring like my grandfather's’.” He held up his right hand, which still contained his grandfather’s ring, and held it next to my left ring finger, showing the two rings nearly side by side. “I decided to get you a ring like my grandfather’s in real life too.”
I couldn’t help but tear up at this. It was just so thoughtful and romantic. “You just made me even more glad I'm marrying you. I love you so much!” I said.
I got on top of him, and began kissing him heatedly. I was suddenly in the mood again.
His eyes got that lusty look again. “Well then why don’t you show me just how thankful you are? Hm?”
I moaned, feeling my eyes lower with just as much lust. “Oh, you’re going to get properly thanked, I assure you.” I kissed him harder, my hands already slipping to his backside.
Needless to say, I thanked him real good that night.
I loved him so much, and I knew that he loved me too. I also knew that we both could hardly wait to become Christopher Michael Lewison and Blake Collin Lewison. In fact, the day couldn’t come soon enough.
