Chapter 27
“Oh my god Mom! I can’t believe they Gave you a motorized wheelchair. They obviously Don’t know you very well I mean hell you’re the most likely to run someone over.” Nerissa said walking along side of her mom as they exited the hospital.
“ yeah well someone has to keep your ass in line she might as well run you over” said Aries from beside Nerissa.
~~~~~on the way home~~~~
“Oh my god who smells?1” cried Kirsten from the front seat.
Everyone looked at Nerissa who blushed.
“OH MY GOD I DIDIN’T HAVE TIME FOR A SHOWER AND YOU GUYS KNOW IT!” then she mumbled “shit heads”
They pulled into the Driveway and Got Kirsten into her chair.
They got her in the house and settled in and Kirsten looked around the room.
Gerard just sat there looking at Nerissa who was sitting across the room.
Gerard got up and went into the kitchen grabbed a Diet Coke and looked down at the can.
Kirsten felt it from the moment she rolled in the door.
The tension could have been cut with a fucking chainsaw.
Kirsten went in the kitchen and found Gerard sitting on the floor looking at his soda with tears in his eyes.
Kirsten rolled over and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“come talk to me kid” she said gently and lead him outside one the back patio.
He lit up a smoke and offered one to her she took it and lit it up.
“ what’s going on Gerard? I could feel it the minute I wheeled in the door something is wrong. What’s wrong with you and Nerissa?”
Gerard broke down and started crying.
“ it seems like I am loosing her. We have spent no time together in the last…well since you accident. She is…it seems like she is pulling away and it hurts.” He sobbed out
Kirsten hugged Gerard close to her.
When she finally got him calm she used the pad of her thumb and wiped his eyes.
“Gerard go tell Nerissa I would like to talk to her.”
Gerard Nodded and walked into the house.
Nerissa came out a few minutes later.
“Mom what do you need?”
“Nerissa what are you doing? Your killing that poor boy.”
Nerissa looked down and felt tears well up in her eyes.
“mom I’ll be right back ok?”
Nerissa ran into the house and found Gerard talking to Billie Joe in the living room.
She walked up to him and tugged his hand and forced him to stand, she grabbed the sides of his face and pulled his face close to in front of her and brushed her lips over his.
He placed a hand on the back of her head and kissed her passionately.
Nerissa pulled away and stroked his cheek with the palm of her hand.
“I’m sorry Gerard. Please forgive me?” she said gently
He nodded and wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered in her ear
“ tomorrow it is just you and Me all day/
She nodded happily
“well it is about damn time” said Aries not looking up from her magazine.
