“Sweety, you look gorgeous!” Gary pulled Dawn from behind the mirror and tried to kiss her on the lips.
“No, no! I just did all the make-up.”
Gary chuckled. “Come on, we have to go. Emily, Daniel are you coming? We’re going to Gracie’s.”
Daniel and Emily thundered down the stairs.
“I can’t wait to tell them,” Gary said once more kissing his wife’s neck.
Dawn smiled and looked down, “I can’t believe it worked after all those years.”

“Elwood, come on baby, get in the car.” Elwood wobbled towards the car as he giggled loudly because Mark was pulling strange faces at him.
Emma tossed Elwood’s nappy bag in the car and the bottle of wine she wanted to give Howard.
“You feeling ok?” Mark rubbed her back.
“I’m feeling better than ever.” Emma answered with a big smile as she sat behind the wheel.

“Jules, will you do my hair?” Grace came walking in the kitchen with her brush and two elastic bands.
“Sure honey, what do you want?” Julia started combing her hair as Grace explained what she wanted to have done.
“They’ll be here any minute now,” Howard rushed through the house clearing out the last of Grace’s toys and school books and opened up a bottle of red wine.

Robbie came walking into the studios with absolutely no idea what he was doing there but he didn’t really mind. His musical career had been on hold for quiet some time now. But he felt free. The LA wind had cleared his head, the sun had tanned his skin and new butterflies had filled his stomach.
He had felt bad about his break-up with Julia, but they had just outgrown each other. It was better like this.
“Robert Williams?” Robbie walked up to his now new agent in LA who had been taking over some of his British running businesses.
“Welcome to this little party, great you could make it.”
Robbie nodded.
“May I introduce you? This is Isla Fisher.”
Robbie took her small hand in his.
“Nice to meet you,” Isla smiled a dazzling white teeth smile.
“Extremely likewise,” Robbie replied. The new butterflies were doing summersaults in his stomach.

“Ok, so me and Dawn have got something to tell you. And we wanted you to be the first to know, since you’ve been so very supportive for us over the past months. It’s a bit of a shame Jay and Charlotte couldn’t be here…”
“Gaz, tell us!” Mark exclaimed, interrupting Gary’s rambling.
Gary checked if Daniel and Emily were far away enough, and he sat a little closer to the rest of them, on the tip of his chair.
“Dawn and me, we erm…are having another baby.”
Dawn smiled proudly at Gary and he quickly kissed her.

A silence fell in the room and a split second later Mark roared with laughter.
“Are you kidding me?” he laughed.
“No, mate why?” Gary didn’t understand the lukewarm receival of their big news.
“Because me and Emma are having another one too.”
Dawn gasped and then did her infamous ‘girly squeak’ , Gary called it that after having seen the Sex and the City movie with Dawn where he had seen all those women squeak with enjoyment.
“When are you due?” she now asked.
“January,” Emma beamed.
Dawn squeaked again, “So am I!”

“So am I.”
They all looked at Julia and then everybody roared with laughter.
“We have to call Jay and Charlotte!” Howard laughed.

“I can’t believe the flight made you that ill.”
Jason rubbed Charlotte’s back.
“I know, I’m just glad we’re here now.”
They stood outside, wrapped in warm coats, hats and gloves protecting them from the freezing cold and the snow.
“The cabin is the most romantic thing I’ve ever seen.”
Jason had rented a small wooden cabin, filled to the brim with indulgence food, wine and scented massage oil.
On the horizon, the sun slowly touched the snowy mountains where its light was scattered in various shades of orange, yellow and pink.
“I’m so glad I am here with you right now,” Charlotte sighed, cuddling closer to Jason.
“I promised you I’d take you to the Queen Charlotte Islands once.”
“It’s gorgeous.”
“Charlie,”
“Hmmm,”
“Will you marry me?”
The question came without any warning, and Jason wasn’t prepared at all to be asking her this, but it just…came out.
She looked at him, amazed and her eyes already tearing up.
“I do.” She replied and Jason kissed her cold lips.
“Oh and Jay,”
“Hmmm,”
“I’m pregnant.”

At that moment, Charlotte’s phone rang. The tune was familiar.

The sun will shine, and we will see there's nothing standing in our way

Never thought this could be me
