“I had a show. Are you ok?” Kelly shook her head no and Graham pulled her up into his arms. She cried in his chest. She pulled away and leaned up capturing his lips with hers. He pulled away, “Kelly I can’t let you do this. You’re really upset about something and I won’t take advantage of that.”

“I’m so sorry. God I’m sorry.”

“Hey it’s ok,” he said wiping away stray tears. “What’s wrong?”

“I was cheated on. But you know the sad thing was on my last tour I was the one that cheated.”

“With me?”

“Yeah with you.”

“I’m sorry Kelly if I’d had known you were with someone I never would have let things get as far as they did.”

“No it was my fault I should have said no, but I didn’t. And then they ended up finding out.”

“That girl that walked in on us?”

“Was the girl I cheated on.”

“Oh,” Graham said kind of shocked. “So then who cheated on you?”

“She did. You see after a couple of months we started hanging out again, but we didn’t start dating for a while after that. Then we got back together and then I had to go on my tour and while I was gone she cheated on me.”

“I’m sorry,” Graham said pulling Kelly into a strong embrace. “Kelly answer this one question. I know you are upset, angry, pissed off, probably all of the above, but do you love her?”

“I’ll never stop loving her. I tried that before and I never will. She’s my one Graham.”

“Forgive her then.”

“What? I don’t think I can’t right now.”

“Kelly forgive her. Yeah you won’t be able to forget it, but forgive her.”

“I can’t.”

“Forgive her, Kelly.” Kelly began crying a little harder. Graham pulled her into another hug. “Forgive her,” he whispered.

“I forgive her Graham.” Kelly sobbed into his shoulder.

“Come on let me walk you back to your hotel.” They pair walked back to the hotel. They stood outside the doors to the hotel.

“Thank you, Graham.”

“You’re welcome, Kelly.” The two hugged and departed each heading in opposite directions. Kelly got back to her room, but stood outside the door. She wasn’t sure if she was ready to face Carrie yet. Part of her hoped Carrie left, while the other part of her hoped that Carrie was still in the room. Kelly entered the room and went back toward the queen-sized bed. She saw Carrie laying on the bed facing the window. She was still crying and shaking. Kelly slowly got on the bed crawling toward Kelly. She one arm slipped underneath the pillow Carrie had her head on while the other wrapped around Carrie’s waist she slightly pulled Carrie toward her.

Kelly whispered softly into Carrie’s ear, “I forgive you.” Giving her ear lobe a soft kiss. Carrie sobbed harder than before and turned in Kelly’s arms facing her. “I forgive you,“ Kelly repeated pulling Carrie closer to her wrapping her arms completely around her body. Carrie’s arms wrapped around Kelly’s shoulder area. Carrie cried into Kelly’s shoulder. “Shh it’s ok, baby. It‘s ok,” Kelly whispered as she moved her left hand up and down Carrie’s back soothingly.

“I’m so,” Carrie sniffed and whispered, “sorry.” Carrie continued crying into Kelly’s shoulder.

“I forgive you,” Kelly whispered in return. “I love you.” Carrie pulled away from Kelly wiping away her tears.

“How can you love me? I god how,” Kelly interrupted her by taking her lips with hers. Kelly tasted the salt from Carrie’s tears. She lifted her hand and placed it on Carrie’s cheek wiping away the tears that continued to fall. Carrie sobbed into the kiss.

Kelly pulled away, “I love you.” Carrie sobbed harder pulling Kelly as close as she could making sure she would never let go. “I love you,” Kelly repeated.

“I love to you too,” Carrie said through tears. “So much. I’m so sorry! I don’t know why I… I never meant to hurt you. I’m so in love with you. I just missed you so much,” Carrie cried. “I don’t think I realized how in love you I was until you left for a second time. I love you so much Kelly that I’m so scared. I didn’t want to admit that I was afraid. You did, but I felt like I had to be strong for you, baby. I’m so scared Kelly.”

“I won’t hurt you. I’ll keep you safe, Carrie.” Kelly pulled Carrie against hold. Carrie cried into the croak of Kelly neck.

“I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for everything. For not trusting you when you left. For hurting you. For everything. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry,” Carrie said her lips grazing Kelly’s neck with every word. Kelly continued to soothe Carrie until she stopped crying and was able to fall asleep. Kelly soon too fell asleep. A couple hours later Carrie awoke. She looked at Kelly who looked so peaceful. Carrie slowly disentangled herself from Kelly. She stood up and stared out the window. Kelly began to stir and reached for Carrie to find her not to be there. Kelly woke up completely and found Carrie standing at the window. Kelly got out of the bed and wrapped her arms around Carrie’s waist from behind her.

“What are you doing up?” Kelly asked softly.

“I couldn’t sleep. And I guess looking outside kind of calms me. How can you forgive me Kelly?”

“Because you forgave me.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Stop.”

“No there’s more that you should know Kelly.”

“Come on let’s take a walk.” The two walked out of the hotel and down to the beach. They walked a little ways down the beach to an area that was secluded. They sat watching the dark ocean waves crash. “What else is there, Care?”

“I think part of me was so afraid that you would cheat again that I wanted to make you feel what I felt when you cheated on me and I walked in on you.”

“I think when it was a little worse when I cheated on you cause you saw it. I didn’t necessarily see it, Carrie.”

“So what does that give me an excuse. You didn’t see it so it never happened,” Carrie said her voice starting to raise.

“No Carrie I know it happened and I’m not excusing it. I won’t forget it Carrie, but I can forgive you. Carrie what are you trying to do? Look if you want to push me away you are doing it.”

“That’s not what I am trying to do!”

“Then what are you doing then?”

“You should hate me!”

“I don’t! I’m extremely mad at you, but I can’t hate you!”

“You should!”

“You have feelings for him don’t you?!” Kelly stood up walking away from Carrie.

“NO! I don’t,” Carrie stood up walking toward Kelly. “You shouldn’t even want to talk to me! And you should hate me!”

“Quit telling me what I should feel! I don’t hate you Carrie! Did you hate me after what I did to you?”

“Yes! I did! But then over time I couldn’t hate you. I love you too much.”

“Carrie, it’s almost like you want me to hate you. You want me not to talk to you,” Kelly hung her head, “You want me to treat you like you treated me. Was this payback, Carrie?”

“No it wasn’t. I don’t know what it was,” Carrie looking everywhere but at Kelly.

“Don’t lie to me.”

Carrie sighed, “It wasn’t to get back at you Kelly. It was trying to understand you if that makes any sense.”

“Understand me? You cheated on me to understand me?! That doesn’t even make sense.”

“I know! God I know! In my head I rationalizations for it but I…I just don’t know,” Carrie said tears developing in her eyes. The tears soon began to fall. “Kelly I don’t want to hurt you.”

“Well you did. But I am willing to forgive you, but you don’t want my forgiveness. I just don’t understand.”

“Because I couldn’t forgive you right away. It took me a little while to. I mean I never stopped loving you, but I couldn’t forgive what you did.”

“Carrie, I can’t even forgive what I did to you.”

“Then how can you forgive me because I can’t even forgive myself.”

“Because I love you too much to watch you walk away from me again. Carrie I’m so angry with you and disappointed, but I want to try and get over this.”

“I love you so much, but maybe we shouldn’t be together.”

“What Carrie no! I want to be you with.”

“I want to be with you too, but every time that you have gone on tour there was cheating. I can’t…”

Kelly interrupted, “I’m not going to cheat on you again. I hated myself for what I did. I was lonely…”

“And scared?” Carrie questioned. Kelly nodded. Kelly hung her head in defeat once again.

“Carrie, if you don’t want to be together then we don’t have to be together,” Kelly said softly. “I can’t keep fighting you. I fought to get you. I fought to keep you. But I’m not going to fight to make you stay. If you wanna go then I’m not going to fight you. I love you and I want to be with you. I want to fix all this mess, but I’m not going to make you,” Kelly said turning away from Carrie walking back toward the hotel. “You can stay in the room if you want I’ll go stay with Benny.” Kelly continued to walk away from Carrie. Kelly turned to look at Carrie and stopped, “You know I would have loved you forever, but I guess if I really love you I would let you go. Goodbye, Carrie,” Kelly said walking backward then turned forward and walked down the beach.
