Chapter Twenty-Seven ~ Androgyny
~*~*~*~
“Crystal, are you all packed?” Colleen called from the kitchen as I hurried to pack the last few blouses that Michael had bought for me earlier in the day. “Um…Just about…” I called back, trying to close the slightly agape suitcase. “Come on you stupid bag…close.” I said, pushing all of my weight on the bag. “Here.” Michael said, as he sat on top of my carry on bag allowing me to zip the bag close. I let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you.” I said, as Michael hopped off of the bag. “Anytime,” Michael said as his eyes met mine. Colleen came into the bedroom and grabbed the bag off of the bed. “Come on you guys, we have to pick Nadine up still…we haven’t got all day.” Colleen said, as she hurried out of the bedroom. Michael and I looked at each other. “That girl needs a chill pill, seriously.” Michael said as the both of us walked out of the bedroom. “You’re telling me.” I said, peeling on my jacket. We had gotten back at eight, only to have time enough to shower before we were being ushered out again. “I don’t have to be there until ten to four…” I said, checking my watch. I let out a groan. “…It only nine thirty!” “It’s not that babe, it’s the fact that we promised to do something with Nadine.” “Oh shit, that’s right. I’m so tired.” I whined. “It’s better that way, you’ll sleep on the plane…” “For a whole hour and ten minutes…please…” I said rolling my eyes, as we walked outside in the chilly November air. “If it wasn’t this cold right now, I’d fall asleep.” Michael laughed. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow. I turned around and something hit me squarely in the back. I turned around again, to find Michael putting on his most innocent face. He began whistling. I shook my head. “You little---” Michael then picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. “Colleen! HELP!” I yelled she came around the corner of the house and began laughing. “Michael seriously, put her down…” “Okay.” Michael said, as he threw me down in a snow pile. Colleen’s eyes shot to Michael as she started to tackle him. “Whoa! Hey!” Michael screamed as I shot up to help Colleen. “This isn’t fair! Let me go!” Michael said, trying to stop himself from his fate. Colleen and I looked at each other and shoved Michael face-first in the snow pile he had dumped me in. We let go of him at the same time and ran to the SUV to take refuge. Colleen fell behind me, Michael quickly caught up to her and pushed her in the snow. I continued running I leaned down and grabbed a handful of snow and threw it at Michael. The ball of snow hit his leg but it didn’t faze him. I opened the car door as Michael was just reaching me. I dove inside the car as Michael caught me. He crawled on top of me, with a handful of snow. He smashed it in my face. A portion of it was left so I took it off my face and shoved it down Michael’s pants. He shot off of me and grabbed his crotch. I busted out laughing as I climbed in the front seat. “That was so cold.” Michael said still clutching the now wet spot on his jeans. “Oh yeah, and did you think I asked to be thrown in the snow? I don’t get mad I get even.” I said as I strapped in. Colleen got in the backseat. Moments later Michael got in the front seat. Michael leaned forward and whispered in my ear. “Your gonna get it. Before you leave you gonna get it.” “Looking forward to it.” I whispered back as we headed on toward Nadine’s house. *At Nadine’s House* “Crystal! What are we doing?” “I don’t know. What did you feel like doing?” “I want go shopping!” Nadine cried, throwing her arms in the air. I rolled my eyes. “I don’t want to go shopping…” I said my eyes meeting Nadine’s. “I’m already packed and I can’t fit anymore in my bag.” “Oh come on Crystal…didn’t you have fun the last time?” “Yeah I did.” “Well who said we had to buy anything?” Nadine asked, looking at me. I looked at Michael, who nodded. I looked at Colleen she too was nodding her head. I was outnumbered 3 to 1. I let out a sigh. “Fine.” I said, as Nadine told her mom that she was heading into Dublin to do shopping. We all got in the SUV as we headed back to Dublin. Right before we arrived at the mall Michael began to panic. “Oh crap!” Michael said, as he slowed down to a crawl. “What is it…oh shit you forgot to call the mall didn’t you.” I said my eyes meeting Michael’s. He nodded. “What am I going to do? It’s too late to go back to the house now and get into a disguise.” Suddenly an idea popped into my head. “Ooh wait, I have an idea…” I said as I leaned over and whispered into Michael’s ear. “No! Absolutely not! I won’t do it!” “Why not? No one would even notice it would be you Michael.” “If it doesn’t work, then what? I’m all over the tabloids as dressing in drag. Seriously, think about what you’re suggesting.” “I think it’s a great idea. We could make you look really convincing…” “No…” Michael said as he looked at all three of us. “It’s out of the question! You’re not making me do it.” *Thirty Minutes Later* Michael stepped out of the car in tennis shoes, flared jeans, and a white hoodie. His hair was in a high ponytail with two tendrils framing his face. Colleen and I had applied his make-up just so, that his cleft chin wasn’t very noticeable. Light cherry lip gloss lined his lips as white eye shadow lined his eyes. Nadine’s eyes scanned over him. “Ooh wait.” Nadine said, taking some pins out of her hair and putting them in Michael’s hair. “Ow!” Michael said scrunching his face up in pain. “Sorry…wow. You guys are great.” “Three years of beauty school.” Colleen said, as she climbed out of the car. I followed her. I then sprayed Michael with Lovespell from Victoria Secret. “Okay Mikayla, are you ready to walk inside?” “Hang on, are you sure I look convincing enough…I don’t want fans and the press flocking me looking like this.” “Michael relax…” I whispered softly. I looked over as three guys walked over to a car next to ours. “Here’s your first test, talk to those guys over there.” “What?” Michael said, his eyes widening. I turned to the guys. “Hey boys,” I said, my eyes looking at Michael. All the color drained from his face. “Oh hi.” One of the guys said, as they approached us. Michael hid behind me. The guys took notice as laughed. “Oi! Who’s your friend behind you. She looks shy.” “Oh her?” I as I grabbed Michael’s manicured hand. “She’s always runs when there’s hot guys around.” I said, stepping aside so that ‘Mikayla’ was in his view. “Um…hi.” Michael murmured, his voice much higher than normal. “Hey, you’re pretty cute. Well we gotta go. You got digits?” “You just met us, I don’t think that’s a good idea. Catch you around.” Colleen said, as she ushered us inside the mall. I snickered as I stopped in the entrance room. “You passed, how does that make you feel?” I asked turning around to Michael. He shook his head. “Disgusted yet strangely relieved.” Michael whispered in his normal voice. He then turned to me. “If I get caught…so help me you both will pay the consequences.” “Relax Mikayla,” I said, walking backwards. His eyes scanned over me. My back hit the wall. “Does this make me a lesbian then?” Michael said, as he took a long stride and closed the distance between us and kissed me. This got the stares of passersby. His tongue slid into my mouth. I passionately kissed him back my hand squeezing his phony breast. I was first to pull away. “Mmm…Cherry. I guess so, but then again, that makes me bisexual doesn’t it.” “You bet you naughty, naughty girl.” Michael whispered seductively, goosing me in the process. I yelped as I turned back to Colleen and Nadine who were patiently waiting for us on the other side of the doors. “About damn time.” Nadine said, rolling her eyes at us. Michael chuckled as he let go of my hand. “Hey Mich--I mean Mikayla, where do you want to go?” “I don’t care, lead the way Colleen.” Michael said, his voice sounding very much like his sister Latoya’s. It kind of freaked me out. Nobody suspected anything though. Guys checked Michael out though, I found myself snickering silently to myself. We stopped at a lingerie shop. Both Michael and I rolled our eyes. “Do I really have to go in there guys…please…don’t make me.” “I’m not going in there.” I said looking at Nadine and Colleen. “Oh party poopers. Whose going to pay for the stuff we want?” Colleen asked her eyes falling on Michael. He rolled his eyes, and gave a grunt of frustration. “You can come out and get me when your done. I ain’t going in there.” Michael said, in a low voice so that passerby couldn’t hear. Colleen rolled her eyes. “Fine,” Colleen said, defeated as her and Nadine went inside. Michael and I sat down in a bench adjacent to the store. “You know, this is great, no one even suspects I’m famous. I just wish I could go as myself.” Michael said, his voice taking a melancholic tone as we sat there, watching people walk by in the busy mall. “At least you know what it’s like to go to the mall and not be mobbed by crazy fans and ruthless paparazzi. This is what’s its like.” I said, my eyes meeting his. His eyes were looking somewhere else. I traced his eyes to where he was looking to see a same-sex couple romantically kissing. I then looked at him. His eyes looked at me then he looked away, a light blush coming to his cheeks. “Come here.” I said, tracing his chin bone. My eyes met his. “I don’t care what kind of disguise you’re in Michael, I’ll still kiss you. Even if you’re supposed to be a woman, I’ll still kiss you. To hell with stares. They can stare all they want.” I said, and with that I kissed his lips passionately. We kissed like that until I pulled away, gasping for breath. “Thank you.” Michael whispered as he licked his lips. “Do you have that lip gloss?” I gave a small smile of amusement. “Yes,” I said digging in my purse as I handed the plastic tube to Michael. He put a thin layer on his lips then handed the container back to me. He winked at me as his finger curled for me to come closer, so I did. I cuddled into him. “It’s not easy to cross my legs like this. It hurts.” Michael whispered in my ear. My lips curled in a smile. “I’m sorry.” I said, my eyes forming an apology. “It’s okay,” Michael said his lips grazing my forehead. We sat there cuddling and watching people walk by. *Two hours later* “God! I should have never let you guys dress me as a woman, the sweater’s stuck.” Michael’s muffled voice complained as he tried to yank the sweater off his head. “Stop! Goodness, are you trying to suffocate yourself?” I asked trying to get the sweater over his head. “Talk about having a swelled head, damn.” I said, giving up on trying to get the sweater off his head. Nadine laughed. “That’s not funny!” Michael sulked. “I should’ve just stayed in the car, damn it.” “Hey Nade, you wanna look in one of the top pockets, there should be a knife in there.” “A knife? I’ll rip this sweater before you get a knife near me.” “Okay then Mr. Muscles, try to rip it.” I said, knowing that the fabric would be really difficult to rip. Michael gave a valiant effort but the fabric didn’t even stretch over his head. I opened the knife and it latched with an infamous click. “Oh God, please be careful, don’t cut me.” Michael whined. “Do you trust me? Cause if you don’t…” “I do! Just be careful.” “Don’t make any sudden movements and we should be fine.” I said as I began to cut the fabric around his neck. I cut a three inch line then pulled the knife away as Michael pulled the sweater off his head. He drew in a deep breath. I closed my knife and put it back in the lead lined case. Colleen was driving and Nadine was in the passenger seat. “Thank you.” Michael said as he then pinned me to the seat. Colleen looked in the rear-view mirror and shook her head. “You guys better not be going at it back there. I’m trying to drive here.” I laughed. Michael frowned. Michael kissed my lips as he began tickling me. I busted out in laughter as I trying to dodge his hands. I bucked him off on me and crawled over the seat to the very back seat. “Get ova here girl, I ain’t finished with you yet.” “Help!” I yelped, ducking behind the seat, suddenly the car came to an abrupt stop causing Michael to fly back, and me to do a face plant into the back of the seat. “Fucking Irish drivers! I’m trying to drive here! Idiots!” Colleen yelled. Michael looked over the seat down at me. I peeled my face off the seat and looked up at him as he got my attention. “Are you okay?” Michael asked, as he offered his hand to me. I took it, as he helped me up on the seat. I buckled my seatbelt. “Good idea,” Michael said, strapping his seatbelt as well. “Oh great!” Colleen said, slamming the side of her fist into the steering wheel. “Colleen, be gentle to my SUV.” Michael said, half-teasing and half-serious. “Sorry Michael.” Colleen said, looking at Michael apologetically. I looked around and saw something I recognized in the distance. “Hey Michael, is that McDonald’s up there?” “Yeah, I think it is.” Michael then unbuckled and tapped Colleen on the shoulder. “Hey, you see McDonalds up there. We’ll stop there for lunch I guess. Since it’s going to take a while to get out of this traffic jam.” Michael said as he winked at me. I smiled as Michael moved over to me, as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
