Winds of Destiny(Pt27)
Sav made his way up the back steps to the deck, a fresh bottle of blood wine in his hand. He turned to the bow when he heard Joe yell pull, then the loud report of a shotgun.
“Damn, I missed.” Joe grumbled.
“It takes practice Joe. This is the first time you have done this.” Travis told him as he loaded another clay disc.
Sav shook his head and glanced at Crystal, she was laying on her stomach on the teak decking, feet sticking in the air tapping to the music that blared in her ears. She flipped the pages of her geography book and scribble on the paper beside it. His eyes lingered on the smooth, flawless skin of her shoulders and back. Spinning around before his gaze traveled to other parts of her bikini clad body, he flopped beside Nick and let out a frustrated breath.
Nick took the offered bottle. “Something wrong?”
“Yeah, we’re not moving.” Sav grumbled looking up at the sail that was barely moving in the breeze.
“Just a few days ago you wanted everything to stop.”
Sav dropped his chin and glared at him. “Storm...sick...not my idea of fun.”
“Dead calm.” Chelsea too glanced up, then around the smooth, glassy surface of the water reflecting in the bright half moon.
“I am calm...” Sav frowned. “…well um…”
“Not you.” Chelsea giggled. “I meant the wind or lack of. Dead calm is a term used by captains when there is no wind and very little movement in the water. Not uncommon after a storm.”
“Maybe we can all blow in the sails for wind or better yet, start the motor to get us moving.”
Chelsea smoothed back her hair and tugged on the annoying strap of her bikini top. “We can’t blow hard enough to get us moving and we can’t really waste the gas trolling around looking for wind.”
She was unaware of Sav watching her every move, his body stirred with forbidden pleasure as he continued to watch her. Her delicate features a stark contrast to the years sailing a yacht around the world. Sav marveled at the toned muscles in her arms and legs when she stood up to crank the wench on the mainsail, when she flopped back in her seat, her breast bounced and strained against the black bikini top.
Nick looked at him, feeling Sav’s desire through their bond. He leaned over and followed his line of vision. Thinking quickly, Nick smacked him in the back of the head.
“ow…what was that for?” Sav glared at him rubbing the spot.
“Just…because.” Nick replied smiling.
“It hurt, so don’t do it again.”
Nick settled back in his seat. “Is it just me or did Crystal bloossum into a very beautiful woman on this trip?”
Sav looked up to where Crystal was. “I think it’s just you.” He finally answered when he tore his eyes from the gentle curve of her bottom. “ooww…damnit Nick stop!?”
“Just trying to get your mind from….other matters.”
“My mind is thinking of throwing you overboard if you do it again.” Sav scooted down the bench seat away from him. His eyes found their way back to Chelsea.
“I’ve grown to care very much for Crystal in the short time she has been here. We had many hours to talk during the day and know a lot about her and her past.” Chelsea informed them.
“She has come a long way from the days of living in LA. It was my idea to whisk her away from that hell and send her to Dublin to live with Joe.”
“She told me about those first weeks…”
“Travis…” Sav yelled, cutting her off.
“Yeah.” Came his reply when he looked to the stern.
“Can I fuck your wife?”
Nick coughed and sputtered on the drink he was about to swallow, Chelsea spun her gaze in his direction, staring at him in shock. A dull thumping clatter and Joe’s voice as he landed on his ass from firing the shotgun. Crystal oblivious to what was going on continued to bop her head with the music.
“Excuse me.” Travis replied in disbelief that he would ask that kind of question.
Looking toward the bow, Sav asked again. “Can I fuck your wife?”
“I think that question is out of line Mr. Savage.” Travis retorted as he retrieved the shotgun that Joe dropped on the deck.
Sav’s eyes glittered with desire when he looked back at her. “Chelsea is a very beautiful woman…” Lifting his head slightly he smelled the air. “..I like the way she smells too…her blood would taste excellent…a woman like Chelsea should be fucked thoroughly every day.”
Getting over her initial shock and shaking off the seductive undertone to his voice, Chelsea stood, closing the short distance between them, her hand swung out and slapped him across the face. “Thank you for the lovely comment.” She stormed down the steps.
Travis looked after her as he came to stern, still carrying the shotgun, then shot his heated glare at Sav. “That was your answer…”
“At least I asked.” Sav replied, shrugging his shoulder and rubbing the sting on his cheek.
“….and I think you owe my wife an apology Mr. Savage.”
“He will…” Nick stood up, grabbed Sav’s shirt front and yanked him to his feet. Before Sav could protest, he was flung overboard. “…when he cools off and comes back to reality.”
“You’re a dead man Nick.” Sav yelled when he surfaced.
Nick leaned over the rail to look down at him. “I suggest you stay in the water for now Richard.”
Sav humph and dropped beneath the surface.
Nick turned to Travis, seeing the anger clearly on his face. “My apologize for his behavior Travis. Richard can be rude and very blunt sometimes.”
“And very outspoken too.” Joe added when he joined them. “But I do have to agree with him…”
Travis whipped his head to Joe.
“…but not like your thinking.” Joe held up his hands. “Chelsea is a very beautiful woman that I admire from afar, that’s all.”
“Then he goes and whacks off in his cabin.” Nick barely held back the laughter.
Joe turned a light shade of red and shoved Nick away. “I most certainly do not Nicholas.”
“I don’t find this funny at all. He insulted my wife with that remark.”
“No he didn’t Travis.” Joe started. “Part of it was a compliment, the rest was…yeah that was an insult. I’ll make sure that Sav apologizes when he is allowed back on board.”
“He can stay out there until the sun comes up.” Travis shot back.
“I’ll be a shriveled prune by then.” Sav yelled.
Travis stepped over to the railing. “You can get in the dingy or fly around the yacht in circles.”
“Fine.” Sav groaned and pushed off the hull toward the dingy.
“Give him some time to get his thoughts back together, he will be alright in a little while.” Nick said and went below to find Chelsea.
“Doesn’t he get enough of that from you and Nick?” Travis blurted.
Joe smiled and sat down. “We do seek out the attention of women from time to time.” It was Joe’s turn to frown, then added. “…but not for this long, well, since we have been here anyway.”
“I’ve had no reason to be upset or angry this entire trip with any of you until now. Both of you keep your hands off my wife.”
“We’re not going to seduce her into to sleeping with us, we could have already done that. I’m not in the least bit interested in her anyway.”
"Maybe not, but your…he is.” Travis pointed to where Sav was.
Joe stood up and approached him. “Don’t worry about what he said. Sav knows his boundaries and will not cross them.”
“How do you know that?”
Joe laughed and patted his shoulder. “I’ve know him for a very long time. You can trust him around Chelsea, so don’t worry.”
Travis watched him disappear below and ran his fingers through his lengthening hair.
“Yeah Travis, don’t worry.” Sav called from the dingy. “My thoughts were supposed to stay in my head, not come out of my mouth. I didn’t mean to say any of that out loud, well yeah, the part about her being a beautiful woman I did. You’re very lucky to have her.”
“Is that your idea of an apology?”
“Yes.”
Travis glanced around the yacht. “Ok then…I’m still mad, but you don’t have to stay out there all night.”
“It’s better that I do.” Sav called back from the dark. “I can’t get in trouble out here. I will talk to Chelsea later, tell her of my deepest regret of saying that.”
“See that you do.” Travis told him. He sat the rifle down and checked the controls, noting that they had drifted slightly off course. Making the correction Travis settled on the seat waiting for any breeze that would lift the sails and send them on their way.

“Dingy...why do they call it that? It’s a little bitty boat.” Sav huffed as he hung over the inflatable thick rubber side, enabling him to peer down in the water and almost touch the top with his fingertips. He sighted heavily, hoping that would ease his frustration about what he said to Chelsea earlier. ‘Need to keep those thoughts to yourself Savage. Tell your body to shut the hell up about wanting her.’
The night seemed to drag on to match the slow movement of wind. Sav was singing out loud to some obscure song in his head. Serenading who ever was still on deck, ignoring him. He was laying on the side, staring at inky blackness of the sky when the inflatable rolled, nearly knocking him off. Sav caught himself and stood in the bottom. He could hear the surface bubbling several feet away, then a loud, air whooshing sound, droplets of water rained down on him.
“Gee thanks.” He grumbled shaking the water off. “There is a whale out here.”
“They don’t travel alone.” Nick called back.
Sav stumbled around in the boat as another one surfaced. Regaining his balance, he flopped over the side, peering down into the water. “That’s cool, I can hear them talking to each other. What do you thinking the are saying?”
“That is a great mystery that will never be solved.” Nick replied as he too heard them.
Sav didn’t stop the smile that spread. It was the first time he had seen whales on the trip. Marveling at the different sounds they were making to each other. He resisted the urge to go swim with them, he didn’t want to disturb them on their journey. The sounds faded into the night as they moved away.
“Rick, sunrise approaches.” Nick called to him.
Pushing himself up, Sav glanced around, tucking the memory of the whales away to think about another day. He flew the short distance to the yacht to land softly on the deck. Making his eay over to where stood at the helm, planting a firm kiss on his lips.
“Maybe luck will be on our side today for wind.”
“Perhaps.” Nick smiled.
Chelsea come on deck holding a steaming cup of coffee. “Morning Rick.”
Sav shoved his hands in his packets and looked down. “Chelsea…um…I want to apologize for my out spoken words. I didn’t mean to insult or embarrasses you or...or anything. I didn’t mean for it to…don’t get me wrong, you are a very beautiful woman, strong….intelligent…I’ve grown to respect you for those qualities and…and what I said to you w…was way out of line.”
“I can almost bet you don’t get turned down very often.” Chelsea glanced away from the controls at him.
Sav was shaking his head. “Not very often.”
Chelsea cranked the wench to try and capture to soft breeze in the main sail. “We might be in for some luck today.”
Sav glanced upward. “Some wind would be nice.”
“If not, then we will be forced to use the engines.”
“Is there enough? We did use a lot in the storm.”
“If we run out, you, Joe and Nick can push us.” Chelsea smiled.
Sav returned her smile. “Yeah, I guess we could.”
“You best be getting below, the sun is getting higher.”
Sav nodded and headed toward the steps, he stopped on the first one and turned back to her. “Chelsea, I really am sorry.”
She smiled again. “Good day Rick.”
Sav smiled brightly, knowing that their friendship wasn’t damaged from his careless words. “Good day.” He disappeared below, leaving Chelsea to chase the wind.
