Chapter 29: It Makes Me Ill to See You Give Love and Attention at Her Will
∞♥♥∞
It was the evening before the wedding, and we finally had everything set up. I was grateful to our friends for helping us plan the wedding. I don’t know how Chris and I would have done it all by ourselves. I was pleased with my outfit. Chris and I both agreed that the traditional black tuxes were lame. We wanted to have our own unique style.
I had no idea what he was going to wear since we planned on not seeing the other’s outfit until he was walking down the aisle. That was another thing. We had debated on both walking down the aisle together, but Gina and Jordin wanted one of us to walk down the aisle to the other because it wold be “more romantic” in their words. I was not about to play the bride and walk down the aisle, but Chris had agreed to it right away, saying it was no big deal; that it didn’t prove anything except that he loves me. It almost made me feel bad for not offering to be the one to walk down the aisle—almost.
Anyway way, I would be wearing my brown plaid pants, a tan dress shirt, and a tan dress jacket. Of course I would leave my shirt un-tucked. I always found it too dorky to tuck shirts in. I was going to wear brown socks and brown sneaker shoes. I was also going to style my hair in the bed-head way that I knew Chris loved. Not to sound vain, but I looked pretty hot! I had tried it on and styled my hair as soon as I got the outfit. I wanted to make sure I looked good, and I did.
However, like I said, it was the night before the wedding now, and I was going out with my friends, who were throwing me a bachelor party. The girls had a whole different idea of a bachelor party, so they were taking me out to dinner, and then for a surprise. After the girls’ surprise, I would go out to another surprise with the guys. Knowing the girls, and knowing Ethan and Cisco, I knew it was going to be two different variations of events that night—sweet then spicy.
Now I was wearing my black pants with the pinstripes, and my panda T-shirt. I slipped on my black socks, and was just about to head down to grab my black sneakers, when Chris came into the room, wearing his Geek in Pink shirt and his blue jeans. He was wearing pink socks. I smirked. “Pink socks?”
He smiled. “Shut up. They were a present from Jordin to match this shirt.” He walked over to me, and took me in his arms. “Just think—tomorrow we’ll be Mr. And Mr. Lewison.”
“I can hardly wait,” I said with a slight smile. I pulled him in for a soft kiss on the lips.
“So, where are the girls taking you?” he asked once we broke the kiss.
I shrugged. “Who knows? Somewhere girly, I’m sure. I know the guys will take me somewhere much better.”
He ran a hand through his hair. “Just don’t have too much fun. I don’t want you showing up at our wedding with a hangover.”
“The same goes to you,” I said.
“I never drink that much. I’ll probably only have one drink tonight, if even that.”
I gave him a look. “Right.”
“What? I promise! You don’t drink too much, and I won’t either,” he said.
I kissed him again. “Deal. So, do you know where your bachelor party is?” His friends were taking him for his bachelor party tonight as well.
“We’re going to go out to dinner and a movie, well, minus my sister’s husband. He volunteered to stay back with the kids at their hotel. Then we’re going to come back to my parents’ place, and we’re going to have a sleep-over there. “Well, Me, Jordin, Melinda, Haley, Sanjaya, that is. Blue, Jorge, Antonetta, and MaDookie have their own places. They will stay for a while though. My sister will go back to the hotel after dropping us back at my parents’ place. I guess she doesn’t trust her husband to get them to bed. He has a habit of letting them sweet talk him into letting them stay up late. She’ll join us for dinner and the movie though.”
“Well, it’s good to know my baby’s going to be nice and safe at home, and not out getting too drunk to marry me tomorrow,” I said with a grin. Honestly? Knowing Chris, I wasn’t worried about him anyway.
He shook his head and smiled. “Well, that’s not going to happen. I don’t care if I lost two legs tonight. I’d be crawling down that aisle to you.”
I laughed. “I would hope your friends aren’t taking you anywhere tonight where you can lose two legs!”
He laughed too. “No, but I’m just sayin’.”
The phone rang then, and I answered it. It was Lakisha, telling me they were there. “I’ll be right there,” I said, hanging up. I turned to Chris. “That’s Lakisha. They’re waiting for me in the driveway. I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then.”
“I’m going to miss you,” he said, pulling me closer.
“But its only going to be for the night,” I said, smiling back.
“I know, but… Aren’t you going to miss me too?” he asked.
“Like crazy,” I said truthfully.
His eyes lowered, and he kissed me.
I moaned into the kiss, and kissed him back, not wanting to go. I knew I had to though. Reluctantly, I broke the kiss. “I’ll see you tomorrow, and I’m gonna finally make you my husband.”
He smiled, and kissed me again. “I’ll be counting the minutes.”
I gave him one last kiss, and then, casting him a longing look, I headed down the stairs and out the door to LaKisha’s rental van.
“So, where are we going?” I asked after greeting her, Kristi, Andrea, Ginger, Gina, and Shyamali.
“Well, we’re taking you to for dinner, and then we’re going to the salon to get our nails done,” Kristi said.
My mouth dropped open. “You’re kidding, right? We’re not really getting our nails done. You all may be girls, but remember—I’m a man.”
“We’re not kidding! You want to look nice for your wedding, don’t you?” Andrea asked.
“Yes, which is exactly why I don’t want colored nails!” I said. I couldn’t believe they were planning this. I knew they were going to pick something girly, but I didn’t think it would be girly to this extent.
“Aw, come on. They will clip your nails nice and paint them with a clear polish. It will make them look shiny and healthy,” Shyamali said.
“It’s not just the nails either. We’re all going to get massages to relax us for the wedding tomorrow,” Ginger said.
“I don’t need to be relaxed. I’m excited about marrying Chris tomorrow. But I suppose a massage might be nice,” I said. I smiled a the thought of getting a massage from a hot blonde.
“You’re getting a pedicure too. I don’t care if your feet won’t be seen at the wedding. They’ll be seen on your wedding night, and the last thing you need is to have gnarly toenails when Chris undresses you,” Gina said.
“I do not have gnarly toenails! I take care of my feet, thank you very much!” I said.
“Aw, just shut up and enjoy our party for you, boy. Be a little grateful,” Lakisha said, making a right turn.
I sat back in my seat, and held up my hands. “All right, all right. Thank you. I’m sure I’ll enjoy this,” I said. I didn’t want them to think I was ungrateful. But really. Manicures and pedicures? Lord help me.

I smiled as my sister picked me up in her rental van. I hopped in on the passenger side, and said hello to everyone. Jordin, Melinda, Haley, Sanjaya, Blue, Jorge, MaDookie, and Antonetta were in the back seats.
“So, where are we going tonight?” I asked.
“Well, first we’re going to Hooters for dinner. We figure it’s fitting since you used to work there,” Michelle (my sister) said.
“Sounds good!” I said with a grin. I had a few friends that still worked there.
“Then, we’ll go to the movie. After that, I was thinking we could go to a karaoke bar before heading back to your place. You can have one drink, but that is it. We’re not going to bring you to the wedding in bad shape tomorrow,” Jordin said.
I grinned. “That’s fine. It sounds like fun!”
“Are you nervous about the wedding tomorrow?” Haley asked.
I smiled. “A little. I’m looking forward to it though. I’ve loved Blake for so long now. I’m looking forward to finally making it official.”
“Well, I’m sure there is nothing to be nervous about. Everything is going to be beautiful and romantic,” Melinda said.
“Yeah, your wedding is going to be Da’ bomb!” Blue said.
Jorge nodded. “It will rock.”
“It will be smooth sailing!” Sanjaya said.
We all groaned at his bad joke.
“If I had a pillow, I would throw it at you,” Antonetta said to him.
“Here. Throw this at him,” Madookie said, taking a travel mug from the cup holder.
Antonetta took it and grinned.
“Hey! That would hurt,” Sanjaya said with a pout.
Jordin took the mug from Antonetta, and set it back in the cup holder. “It wasn’t that bad of a joke.” She rolled her eyes and smiled.
We arrived at Hooters, and we all got out.
“I’m starved. I always feel uncomfortable at a place like this though,” Melinda said as we headed into the restaurant.
“I do too, but the food’s good,” Jordin said.
My Hooters friends greeted me right away, and told me they were looking forward to my wedding tomorrow. I was happy that I hadn’t lost any friends by coming out to them. They were all happy for Blake and me.
We got seated. It was funny to see how uncomfortable Sanjaya looked in that place.
“What’s wrong, Sanjaya?” I asked.
“All these women here have big boobs,” was all he could say.
The whole table cracked up.
“Um, that’s kind of the point,” I said.
“But they are right within my eye level! I don’t want to have to stare at those the whole time we’re here,” he said.
“Any other guy would love it,” Blue said.
“I know I do,” Jorge said. He and Blue slapped each other’s palms.
“He’s a guy after my own heart—not perverted,” Melinda said.
“If he were straight, he would enjoy it, so don’t take it to heart too much,” Antonetta said.
Sanjaya made a face though, and shook his head. “Yuck!”
I smiled to myself. I was already having fun. I really did love my friends.
Dinner was a lot of fun. It was fun joking with my friends from both the wedding party, and my old Hooter’s gang.
The movie was fun too. I don’t know what got into us, but we were all acting crazy. We would throw popcorn at the screen when the cheesy parts came on. It was a love story. I honestly think we would have gotten thrown out if it wasn’t for the celebrity status that Jordin, Melinda, Haley, and I had.
By the time we arrived at the karaoke bar afterwards, I was on an even bigger high, and ready to sing.
“Let’s all do solo songs, and then duets!” Jordin suggested.
“I want to see you guys switch songs. Jordin, you sing one of Haley’s songs, Haley, you sing one of Chris’ songs, Melinda, you sing one of Jordin’s songs, and Chris, you sing one of Melinda’s songs,” Michelle said.
I laughed. “Me sing one of Melinda’s songs? I can’t sing her songs. They’re good, but, I don’t have her range.”
“Make it your own! I want to hear you sing one of my songs,” Melinda told me.
I sighed. Well, who was I to say no? “All right. But we’re assuming they will have all of our songs,” I said.
“Go find out,” MaDookie said, nodding towards the song book.
We all headed over there, and looked through the book.
“I’ll try ‘Tattoo’,” Melinda said.
They actually had all the songs from my first album. It was weird seeing my songs in a karaoke book.
Anyway, there was at least one song from all of us, so we chose our songs, and signed up for them. Again, I guess our celebrity status was on our side, because they called us up first, and consecutively at that.
I was up first. I had chosen a song I had written for Melinda, and sang it with my own spin to it. I must have done well, for everyone was cheering loudly for me when I was done. It was either they enjoyed it, or were to drunk to hear me sing badly. Ha! At least I knew my friends liked it for sure. None of us were drinking.
“Wow, you did that song justice! I’m impressed,” Melinda said with a grin.
I grinned too. “Thank you.”
Jordin was up next, then Haley, and finally, Melinda. They all did really well. I was impressed.
Michelle was the next one of us up. She sang Melissa Etheridge’s “If I Wanted To”.
Next, MaDookie sang Vanilla Ice’s “Ice, Ice Baby”, just for a joke, but sounded really good.
Antonetta sang KT Tunstall’s “Black Horse and a Cherry Tree.” She had all the guys in the bar whistling, for she did the sexy dance moves to go with it. She sang it pretty well. I was impressed.
Blue sang Notorious BIGs “Big Papa”, and Jorge sang Gavin DeGraw’s “I Don’t Wanna Be”. They both pretty good, actually.
I sang the Rascal Flatts’ “What Hurts the Most” with Jordin for old time’s sake, since we had sung it together on the American Idol Tour. I thought we still sounded pretty good.
Haley and my sister sang Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman”. They did great! Melinda and Sanjaya sang Prince’s “1999”. They did good too. Sanjaya was a great singer. I don’t know why he got all the crap he did when on the show. Antonetta and MaDookie sang TLC’s “No Scrubs”, and did fantastic. Blue and Jorge did a hilarious rendition of The Backstreet Boys’ “Backstreet’s Back”. Me and the others were dying laughing.
Then, it was a free-for-all. By now, not that many people besides the ones in our group wanted to sing. There were a few brave souls that tried to sing, and were so awful it was funny. Mainly though, the floor was all my friends’ and mine.
“Oh my gosh, you totally have to sing a Justin Timberlake song,” Antonetta said at one point.
“We’ve already heard him sing ‘Sexy Back’ like a gazillion times on tour,” Sanjaya said. He turned to me. “You were good, but enough is enough. Sing an *Nsync song instead.”
I shrugged. All right. “There were five members of *Nsync though. I need you and three others to join me up there.”
“Well, since I’m a guy, I’l sing it,” Blue said.
“I might as well. You’ll drag me up here if I don’t,” Jorge chimed in.
I nodded. “Yes, I will.”
“Ah, what the heck? I’ll go up too,” MaDookie said.
That gave us five people.
Jordin laughed. “This is going to be so good!” She ran to the sign up area to sign us up.
I shook my head and smiled. This should be good, I thought.

I enjoyed dinner a lot. We went to Chili’s, and it was really good.
After that, we all got our nails done. I’ll admit, it wasn’t as bad as I had thought it would be. My nails did look rather nice—plus it was nice when the manicurist accompanied it with a hand and foot massage.
When it was time for my back massage, I was happy to get one from a very hot, well-endowed brunette. She may not have been blonde, but she would definitely do. Needless to say, I enjoyed that massage even more than I had thought I would! In fact, I was sad to see it all end.
“Well, I guess your time here with us is over. Now we have to pass you on to the boys,” Gina said.
“Well, I had fun. Thank you guys for the good time,” I said sincerely.
“See? You can have fun doing girly things,” Kristi said, hugging me from behind.
I smirked. “Just don’t tell anyone.” I kissed my friends’ cheeks and hugged them.
“Yeah, yeah,” Gina said. “No go on and have a good time.” She winked at me.
As if on cue, Cisco came pulling up in a rental car with Ethan in the passenger side and Sligh and Phil in the back.
I waved goodbye to the girls, and then got in the back.
“What’s up, Lewis? You ready to have your last night of freedom?” Cisco asked, looking back at me.
“Yeah, man. Where are we headed?” I asked.
Ethan turned around and grinned. “We thought we’d take you to the strip joint.”
I laughed. I knew they were going to have something good planned, but this had never crossed my mind. Okay, so maybe it had, but I wasn’t sure. I turned to Phil and Sligh. “You two are okay with this?”
Sligh nodded. “Yeah. Our wives just threatened to snap our necks if we got a lap dance. We can look, but no touching.”
I laughed, thinking he was joking.
“He’s not joking. Seriously. They may not snap our necks, but I’ve been married to my wife long enough to know that she will make me pay some other way if I disobey her,” Phil said.
Sligh nodded. “Same with my wife.”
I shrugged. “We’ll then, all the more women for me, Cisco, and Ethan,” I said.
“That’s what I’m talking about!” Cisco said.
Ethan let out an excited whoop, and I knew I was going to be in for one heck of a bachelor party.
When we arrived at the strip club, we got our drinks, and then found a table. I was excited to be having a night with my friends.
We were there for only five minutes when Cisco asked me which stripper I found the hottest. I told him, and then he motioned her over.
She came right on over, and I had to admit, she was even prettier up close. “Would you boys like a lap dance?” she asked.
“He would; not me,” Phil said, pointing to me.
“It’s his bachelor party tonight,” Sligh said.
“He thinks you’re the hottest,” Ethan told her.
I blushed. I was never shy around women, but for some reason, Ethan telling her that had embarrassed me.
“Well then I’d be happy to give you one. Since it’s your bachelor party, I’ll even give it to you on the house. My name is Candi by the way.”
I grinned. A free lap dance from a hot blonde? This day really was going my way. I wondered if she was sweet like candy. “Why thank you, Candi. That is very kind of you.”
“She’ s all yours, Lewis,” Cisco said.
Candi began her dance then, and I couldn’t have been happier.

I felt like an idiot. The *Nsync song had been so fun to sing, and I was in a great mood. That was until I sang Maroon 5’s “She Will Be Loved” for the last karaoke song of the night. It made me miss Blake. I didn’t want to wait until morning to see him.
“I know I’m being a baby, but would it be so weird for me to go see Blake at his bachelor party? I know I’m not supposed to go to his bachelor party, but I just want to see him again,” I said to my friends.
“I never thought I’d see my best friend this into a guy. It must be love,” Blue said.
I grinned. “It is.”
“Well, it just so happens that I know where they are,” Haley said. “Phil told me.”
“Where?” I asked.
“I’m not sure you’re going to like it,” Haley said.
I suddenly felt uneasy. “Where?” I repeated.
“They guys took him to a strip club,” Haley admitted.
I felt my heart sink. “Which one?”
She told me.
“That’s it. We’re going there. I’ll drive,” I said.
“No, you won’t. I don’t have insurance under your name. I’ll drive you there,” my sister said.
We all got into the car and headed to the strip bar. I was hoping Blake was only there to watch, but deep down, I knew better. I would decide how bad it was when I got there.
“Do you want us to wait out here?” Michelle asked me.
I nodded. “Please. I won’t be long. I just want to say hello.”
I shut the door, and then walked into the club. It took me only about a minute before my eyes fell upon Blake. There was a very busty, and very beautiful blonde sitting in his lap and giving him a lap dance that was more provocative than I’ve ever seen a lap dance be.
My mouth dropped open. He was looking very into it.
I walked closer to get a better view.
“Chris, what are you doing here?” Phil asked, suddenly noticing me.
Sligh looked over, and then so did Cisco and Ethan. Finally, Blake looked over, and our eyes locked.
“Chris…” he said, blushing.
“I see you’re not missing me like I was missing you,” I said.
“It’s not what it looks like?” Blake tried.
“Yeah, and I suppose she just fell into your lap, right?” I asked. “I’m out of here,” I then said, leaving the club. I could hear Blake calling after me, but I ignored him. I had seen and heard enough.
I got into the car.
“So, did you get to see him?” Michelle asked.
“Just drive me home, please. He was getting a lap dance from a very beautiful and busty blonde woman. He doesn’t care about seeing me,” I said.
“What? I’m sure he was just having fun. It’s a normal thing that guys do at their bachelor parties,” Michelle said. She drove off towards home anyway.
“I didn’t!” I said.
“Well, only because we didn’t plan one for you,” Jordin said.
“I wouldn’t have gone anyway,” I said.
“Relax, man. You know Blake. He’s just being Blake. It’s not like he is going to sleep with her,” Blue said.
“Who knows? They looked pretty cozy,” I said.
“You can’t honestly believe he would cheat on you. I know Blake, and he is not like that,” Haley assured me.
I sighed. “I know, but still…”
“He’s not going to cheat on you. He loves you,” Melinda said.
“Yeah, I’m a guy, but even I can see how much he loves you,” Jorge said.
“Don't even worry about it. He’s just being stupid right now,” MaDookie said.
“All boys are,” Antonetta stated.
“Speak for yourself!” Sanjaya said.
“You’re only part guy,” she quipped.
Sanjaya shot her the evil eye.
Normally, such a thing would make me smile, but right then, I didn’t feel like smiling—not at all.
