Angel's Shock chapter 3

Angel's Shock chapter 3

The following is a work of total fiction. I have never met Darren or Daniel and like everyone else apart from them and their partners I do not know their true sexual preferences. I do not mean any disrespect or harm to either of them.

Darren woke at about nine o'clock the next morning. The house seemed really quiet, it wasn't like Angel to sleep this late, but after last night she probably needed some extra sleep. Plus she was probably tired from her journey home.

He got up and went to the bathroom. He took a shower to try to clear his head; he had a terrible headache. Once out of the shower he put on his robe and went to their bedroom to get some clothes. He was in for a shock. All Angel's drawers and her wardrobe were open and were almost empty of her clothes. He looked on top of the wardrobe; there was another suitcase missing. He ran downstairs. The suitcase she had with her last night was gone. Angel was gone! He picked up the phone and called Daniel.

"Danny it's me! She's gone! She's left me! What am I going to do?"

"Calm down. Are you sure she's gone? What has she taken?"

"Yeah, I'm sure. She's taken just about all her clothes. I don't know what else, but she's definitely gone. I've totally fucked up and lost the only girl I ever loved! Danny I need you." He started crying.

"Ok mate, I'll be there. Give me twenty minutes ok? I'll be right there."

He put the phone down and drove to Darren's house as fast as he could without breaking any speed limits. He made it in fifteen minutes, parked the car, walked up to the door and rang the bell. Darren opened it and fell into Daniel's arms sobbing.

"She's really gone. Look I found a note, her keys and her engagement ring on the kitchen table. She's not coming back, I've lost her."

He handed the note to Daniel and he read it.

Dear Darren,

I've had a chance to calm down a bit and think about the situation, I can understand how you feel about Daniel. He is a good-looking guy and I know you have been close friends since you first met. You can't control your sexuality. If the feelings are there no matter how well hidden, I guess it's natural that you would fall for each other when you're spending so much time together.

Although I understand, I can't condone it and I certainly can't share you with him. I don't want to make you choose that's not fair, I know you love us both. Also I'm afraid that you may not choose me, so I'm going, so you won't have to make a choice. Please don't try to find me, it's over. I can't forgive you for deceiving me like this, but I hope you and Daniel will be very happy together and I hope you have a successful career together. At least you'll be in the right profession; they tend to accept gay people more in showbiz.

Please don't think I'm being homophobic, I'm not. You know how tolerant I am. Live and let live. I guess I'm just a NIMBY. Please forgive me, I can't cope with the man I love being in love with another man.

I will always love you; I just can't be with you anymore. Take care.

All my love

Angel.

"That seems pretty final, Dar. Are you going to let her go or are you going to try to find her?"

"Is there any point in trying to find her. She obviously doesn't want me anymore. I wouldn't know where to start looking for her anyway. She has so many friends she could be with any one of them. And if she asked them not to tell me she was there they would be loyal to her and not tell me. Maybe she went home. It would be the most obvious place for her to go. If she has she obviously hasn't told them what happened, her dad would have been here ready to kill me by now if she had. She's still his little princess."

"I wouldn't call there if I were you. If she hasn't gone there and they don't know she's gone you'll only worry them. Try some of her friends first, or maybe leave it a few days see if she comes back."

"No, she's not coming back. She means what she says, it's over, I've lost her."
