Chapter 3: A Whirlwind Affair
“Cut!” the director exclaimed. He gave a sympathetic smileard ard Emmy. “I know it’s your first on screen kiss, but try to look more natural, okay?”
She wasn’t the type to blush, that was Lia’s expertise--- but her cheeks flushed a deep crimson because a kiss was not hard to act. She was making too big of a deal out of it. Taking a deep breath, she smiled at him softly, “Sorry about that Orlando.”
The darkly gorgeous actor grinned. “It is no problem, love. Call me Orli.” Thus, he became Orli. “How about some practice to get your nerves out?” he suggested. She nodded, there was no reason not too, the director had called a break. It’d be a good use of their time.
As soon as he received her consenting signal, his arms dragged her close to him and his face bent down, capturing her lips in a gentle and tender kiss. It was testing, experimental. It was overwhelmingly sweet and delectable.
Automatically, she parted her lips to let his tongue enter in. With shyness, her tongue touched his and then fled away. She felt his brief chuckle at the back of his throat. Lost in the bliss, she had instinctively wrapped her arms around Orli’s neck, holding him in place.
He wasn’t about to go anywhere. This was an amazing first kiss. The first thought he had was it was going to be fun to kiss her during the filming. His second thought was he didn’t remember having a better first kiss. His third was he didn’t want this to end.
From the back of their consciousness of their surroundings, they heard a deliberate cough. They ignored it. They could not avoid his voice though, “The kiss is not suppose to be that carnal.”
That jarred them. That stopped them. That broke them apart, regretfully. His face was grinning easily; hers was pink in a mixture of passion and embarrassment. That kiss was unforgettable.
“So are you two ready for the real scene?” the director asked, a hint of hilarity in his bemused expression.
Orli smiled and nodded along with the still cherry Emmy. “We are ready,” he drawled, “most definitely.”

The day had been hectic: makeup artists were trying to figure out the right combinations for the different faces, crew members were working to get the lighting to be adequate, the actors were running around chanting their lines. It was with relief when the lunch break was called. The movie was moving along well, and it gave Orli the chance to find out more about this Emma Lange. There was something distinctively familiar about her, like he had seen her before.
Quite frankly though, he didn’t trust his relative memories so the easiest thing to do was to ask her. So where was she? His eyes zoomed in on her sitting on a chair with a laptop on her lap. She had no food, that’d be a good excuse and way to approach. Get the girl food, yes, precisely.
He filled his plate with food and strolled over to her. Sitting down next to her presumptuously, he asked casually, “So what are you doing, love?”
“Responding to fanmail.”
“Fanmail?” he inquired, perplexed.
She laughed and closed her notebook. “I forgot that you’re a technophobe,” she remarked. “So you’re hands off computers, are you not?”
He nodded. “How did you know?”
“Your fan sites,” she answered, “say so. So it’s true, what an odd chteriteristic in today’s times.”
“You’ve seen them, then?”
She smiled. “Yes, I have. After all, you are pretty infamous at Guildhall, Mr. Orlando Bloom. Your name is even auspicious. I had to check out who you are, especially after...”
“After what?” he inquired.
“After I met you,” she admitted, “at a London Premiere. It was the Fellowship of the Ring one.”
“I knew I had seen you somewhere,” Orlando muttered. “I could not remember where. So it was at that premiere?”
She nodded. “It was pretty forgettable.”
“I am sure it was not,” he replied. “So are you going to eat anything, Miss Emma Lange?”
Inspecting the food on his plate cautiously, she informed him blandly, “I am on a tofu diet.” His expression was inestimable as he appeared like he was choking on whatever he had in his mouth. It was then that she took a piece of chicken and popped in into her mouth, making a elaborate show of devouring it. “Don’t let me fool you. I am as normally normal in the odd girl way.”
“Then by all means,” he replied when he’d recovered, “eat more.” He grinned and took a piece of turkey, holding it up temptingly close to her mouth. She knew precisely what to do as her lips parted to close over the meat, her teeth capturing the target and pulling it away from the trap. With deliberateness, she licked his fingers, catching all the sauce. “Orli,” she declared, “please, call me Emmy.”

was was late in the evening when Orli’s cell phone was ringing. Turning over to grab it and answer it, he saw that it was Elijah--- great, he had the best news for him. “You will not believe it, Lij,” he began without even bothering to greet his best chum. “I met the most incredible girl today on the set.”
Elijah believed it, that was why he was calling him. From his agent, he had found out that it was common knowledge that Julia Damon had acted with her best friend, Emma Lange in the outrageously witty film, The Girl Crowd. What was hard was to track her down. Coincidentally, they had pinpointed her down on the same set as Orli’s new film.
“Emma Lange,” he guessed accurately.
“How did you know?” Orli inquired. “Well, she is unbelievable, Lij. She is impossibly talented and an incredibly good kisser.”
Typical of elf boy to kiss a girl on the first day. “We met her at the London Premiere,” Elijah responded. “She said something there I’d never forget: There are no limits. It reminds me why I love acting. There are no limitations. I have always wondered what happened to her. I could never find an Emmy at Guildhall.”
“So that was who you have been searching for all these years?” Orli queried with an incredulous tone. “Well then, you should fly to London when you have time or I can give you her number. It is crazy; after all these years, that you have found her again.”
Yes, it was. “I will see if I can fit a weekend trip in,” Elijah replied. “I do want to see her again. I wonder if she is still as I remember her? Do you remember her?”
“No,” Orli confessed, “I do not. I remembered seeing her vaguely, that’s all.” It bothered him that he didn’t, but he couldn’t help his selective memory that blotted out things randomly. “Well, come up anytime you want, mate. There is always a room for you at my flat.”
~
It took time for Elijah to find the time to put a non-working, purely pleasure trip into his beyond packed schedule. When he finally arrived in London, it was none too soon because of the filming of A Whirlwind Affair was nearly concluded. Once it was over, there was no telling how he’d get a hold on her. She was notoriously difficult to find, though she was amazingly interactive on her official site. He’d gotten into the habit of checking on it when he had the time to spare. Now, he was here--- about to see her again.
“So he remembered me?” Emmy inquired, baffled at the insight Orli had to inform her of to get her to come with him. “That’s totally outrageous, Orli! I guess his reason for acting is the same as mine.” She smiled teasingly. “Yours is for the chicks and the kisses.”
“Damn straight, love.” He mockingly kissed her on the lips briefly. “As long as I get to kiss a girl, they do not have to pay me, Em.”
During the two months of filming, the two had gotten to be the very best of mates. Orli reminded her quite a bit of Lia, who she missed dreadfully. After the splash The Girl Crowd had made, movie offers had poured in for Lia. Her agent, Charlie, was hoping that A Whirlwind Affair would do the same thing for her as The Girl Crowd had done for Lia.
It took him by surprise to see Orli and what he believed to be Emmy, waiting for his arrival. What he hadn’t expected was that they’d be kissing, well that Orli would be kissing her since he knew how he felt about her. There was a concretely envious emotion evoked in him. It was true with her auburn hair and hazel eyes, she was not his physical ideal, but she did have the accent and most assuredly the wit. It was a pity that Orli had rediscovered her first. But if he hadn’t, he wouldn’t be getting this chance to meet her again.
Indeed, a charming smile and an enchanting accent greeted him, “Welcome to London, Elijah.” Elijah could not help but notice the possessive arm that was casually draped on her shoulders--- possessive because of the grip Orli had on her arm. He knew Orli was not the prudish type, it was a well known fact that he’d lost his virginity at age fourteen amongst their inner Fellowship group.
“I still remember what you said at the Premiere of the Fellowship of the Ring, about the reason you acted,” Elijah told her. “It has helped remind me why I am in this business.”
Being a warm person, Orli went over to Elijah and gave him a hug in greeting. “You indeed get straight to the point, Lij. So how was the trip, mate?”
“It was the usual,” Elijah answered, his eyes never leaving Emmy. “Let’s get out of here before anyone recognizes you, elf boy.” Though he hadn’t really spared much of a glance at Orli, he had noted that he was wearing a hat and deliberately unkempt clothes in an attempt to disguise himself.
Rolling his eyes, Orli retorted, “Your fans are far wilder and crazier than mine by mine by far.” As they strolled toward Emmy, Orli dragged her to him again by placing his arm around her waist. “You hear Lij, Emmy. Let’s run before his fans give chase.”
She shook her head, laughing with her eyes. “What can I do?” she inquired playfully. “You have me in your hands.”
~
They were wonderful together, he surmised. They complimented each other with his tanned virility and her pale fragility. Together, they were entrancing as they acted out the wildly opposite and yet compatible couple. They looked perfect.
He was drawn to their passion; he saw the undercurrent desire in them. It was what made them a powerful force together. It truly made him wonder if they were going out, if Orli had slept with her. It was impossible for him to think otherwise.
Throughout the cab ride to the set, Orli and Emmy had interacted affectionately and flirtatiously. There was a blatant chemistry. Even though, the most forward actions had been Orli’s, elf boy was not shy--- he never had been. Evidently, Emmy did not mind.
“Your last kiss can be like your first,” the director commented cheekily. It was a common joke amongst the crew how orgasmic their first kiss had been. “Go for it. Give it your all. This is the last scene.”
The grin on Orli’s face was easy to read, he was delighted at the announcement. There’d not been a substantial kiss since that first one. There’d been lighter version to be sure, but any lobbying for another kiss like that had been rebuked lightheartedly by her.
She knew exactly what was on his mind. She had to smile because he was smiling like an impish child that had received an unexpected present. But she knew that even though he seemed happy go lucky, he had a deep philosophical side.
Pausing, she took a deep breath and got ready to morph into her adamantly joyful character. “Percy!” she exclaimed with a flabbergasted bliss when she saw him running toward her. “I thought... I thought...”
“You thought wrong,” he drawled as he wrapped his arms around her waist. “Keeley, love...” his deep inflection of his affection trailed off deliberately as he stared deeply into her hazel eyes. “Love is hope, and I have it now. I love you.”
With that having been said, he bent his head down and captured her lips in an achingly tender and positively passionate kiss. The hidden desire flared up as they intensified the embrace, losing themselves in the chaotic clinch. Perfect story, perfect kiss.
When they drew apart, Emmy was trying to grasp what her next lines were. She searched, but her mind was blank. There was nothing, so she scrambled for something. “I love you, too.” The bewilderment rapture on his face mirrored her own, their eyes glued to one another.
“Cut!” the director shouted, grinning broadly. That display of fireworks had been brilliant. “It was, ‘Percy, love is hope. I do love you.’ But it was good either way, Emmy. You made up for the lost line with a line of your own. That is a wrap. Still cannot believe that we finished on time. This is great, wonderful. I hope to work with you two whenever I can. You two sparkle together.”
That Elijah agreed. There was most unquestionably an attraction between Orli and Emmy that combined with their talented acting ability made it difficult to not be mesmerized. Yet, despite both of them being great actors, he did not think that the dazed desire that had overpowered them was purely playacting. She hadn’t remembered her lines, and he had struggled to end the kiss. No, it was not the acting--- it was the magnetic pull.
