PART 3
Marshall stomped his way over to his car, cursing the whole way. He threw the suitcase in the back seat and got behind the wheel. Wasting no time, he put the car in gear and peeled out of the parking lot, leaving only two black skid marks and a crying girl in his wake.
He’d gotten no more than a block away from her apartment before he pulled over and started beating the steering wheel. After a good five minutes of pounding, Marshall felt the throbbing in his hand start. *I can’t take this shit* He thought to himself. Why did she have to do this? Why couldn’t she have left things the way they were! He was so confused. Looking back, he realized he let his emotions control him again. He couldn’t believe the things he said to her. Throwing up the fact that he bought the apartment for her, damn, could he have been more stupid? And then saying he was gonna fuck Kim… Guess that answered that question. How the hell was he gonna fix this one?
*~*~*~*~*
Alex stayed on the floor for a good hour. God why did it hurt this much? Why was he able to do this to her? Had she really given him this kind of power over her? It just wasn’t fair! She loved him so much and yet, right now she hated him with equal passion. If she could, Alex would go back in time and take it all back. She never would have called him, never would have told him she loved him, and never would have asked for them to be together. Hell, she would go back further and stop herself from falling in love with him all together, because honestly, he’d caused her more heartache then anything else these last few years.
Between dealing with his on again off again relationship with Kim, the rebound sluts he went out with to make her mad, and their secret meetings he insisted on keeping…Alex had dealt with a lot. More than any normal woman should have to deal with. But was she really normal? Did the everyday woman normally have an affair with a millionaire rapper for ten years? Did she let him use her, treat her as if she were important and then not call her for three days? No, normal women didn’t deal with that on a daily basis. Why should she? It was probably better this way. She was free to find a man who wanted her, someone who would invite her over his house when his family and friends were there, take her out in public and hold her proudly on his arm, someone who would love her completely and be totally faithful. That’s what she wanted, what she needed right now. But then why did she feel so empty now that he was gone?
*~*~*~*~*
Marshall sat at his kitchen table wondering what the hell he was going to do. He did love her. He knew that and obviously she knew it too! So why the hell couldn’t he give her what she wanted? After all the shit they had gone through together, she stuck by him. Never once did she try to trap him or become famous off of him. She always had his best interest at heart. Why couldn’t he do the same for her? He’d gotten married while with her, halted their affair any number of times and slept with other women, not mentioning all the other stupid stunts he’d pulled during the past ten years that could have caused them to never see each other again. Why the hell did she even bother wanting him after all that shit?
Just then the shrill ringing of the phone started and Marshall jumped up. Maybe she was calling him, wanting to apologize!
He anxiously picked it up from his charger and spoke into it. “Hello?”
“’Sup Shady…”
“Proof, hey dawg.”
“So what’s really good? You sound upset.”
“I dunno man; me and Alex had a fight. We aint together no more.”
“You for real? Has that ever happened before?”
“What?” He asked, confused.
“You guys fighting and breaking up? I know you called it quits before, but I knew it wouldn’t last long. You sound like you aint so sure this time.”
“That might be cuz I aint retard.” Marshall said, rolling his eyes. “She wants us to be together, have a relationship and shit.”
“So?”
“So? What the hell do you mean so?”
“Exactly what I said ass. She wants to be your girl. You’ve been seeing her forever. You both love each other so what’s the fucking problem?”
“Yo, was I the only one who didn’t know I loved her? What the fuck, is my life on fucking TV or something, everyone knows shit but me!”
“That’s cuz you’re stupid.” Proof sing-songed, laughing at his friend’s distress.
“Yo, whatever man, I’m haven fucking issues here and you wanna act like a dick.”
“I aint got no tissues for your issues bitch!” Proof yelled, still laughing.
“Great you’re a fucking comedian now…well I got better shit to do now, so fuck off.”
“Nah, Marsh, I was just fucking with you. Whatcha need dawg?”
“Just bring your Wayne Brady ass over here so I can think of something to do bout this shit.”
“Aight, you want the boys too?”
“Nah, I just restocked the fridge, don’t need to do that shit again after Bizarre leaves.”
Proof laughed and agreed, before telling him he would be right over.
