Two weeks later.
Madison stared at Marshall as he emerged from his SUV - carrying a large package in his arms. She was standing in the window - her little hands on the glass with her nose pressed closely for a better look. "Mommy! Here's here." She yelled through the small apartment, Shanea standing in the kitchen. "Hailie's not wiff him dough." Madison frowned and moved away from the window. "Where she?"
"Hailie has to go to school - she's a big girl."
"I’m big girl." The toddler assured, storming off into her bedroom as Marshall knocked on the door. Shanea let him in and watched as Madison returned from her room holding a large piece of paper. "Hi Madison." Marshall said, kneeling down to her level. The once outgoing child stood by her mother and turned away from him, suddenly becoming very bashful. "You want me to give it to him?" Shanea asked, taking the offered piece of paper once Madison nodded in agreement. "She made this for you, Em."
Marshall took the piece of paper and looked at it, remaining knelt in front of Madison. It was a picture she had drew, three little brown people - one wearing a red dress, one with no clothes on and a smaller version of a girl in a pink dress. Mommy, Daddy, Me scribbled over each person. The picture melted his heart - causing him to open his arms and wait for her to run to him, hugging him tightly around the neck.
"Mommy says dat your my daddy.." She whispered, as if it were a secret. "I am, baby. I'm here too and I ain't goin' nowhere." Madison nodded slightly as if she understood him and broke away from his embrace, stumbling backwards a little. "Where Hailie? I made picture for her too!" Before he could blink the little girl had run back into her room - looking through hundreds of papers for the picture she made for Hailie.
Marshall stood up and handed Shanea his package, running a hand over the back of his neck. "It's just some kinda doll thing - Hailie helped me pick it out 'cause.. I don't know much about those things.." He muttered, looking at her for a second before his eyes darted away. Things were definitely awkward between them - their life long friendship hanging on by a tiny little thread named Madison. He had deserted her - twice in his life - and she owed him nothing but a few moments of happiness with his daughter. "Shay, we need to talk about this.."
"What?" She wondered, nonchalantly. She didn't want to deal with their relationship anymore - as far as she was concerned they didn't even have one. Fool me once - shame on you, fool me twice - shame on me. She thought to herself, almost laughing at the silly phrase. She wasn't going to allow it to happen again - the hurt, deception - the pain that lingered every time he walked out of her life. "Us, Shay. Don't 'what' me - you know you feel it too.." Shanea sighed and shook her head no. "No, Marshall - I don't feel anything, not anymore."
Marshall looked at her - holding her stare. He knew she was lying - trying to protect her pride, her heart. Things were different now - he wasn't going anywhere and she needed to realize that. "I'm still here aren't I? I didn't run off again.." Shanea moved across the room and looked in on Madison, seeing that she was sitting at her desk coloring quietly. Apparently she had lost Hailie's picture so she decided on her own to make another one.
"You really think if she wasn't here you'd still be around, Em?"
Marshall watched Madison quietly; looking up at Shanea with nothing to offer. The man that was paid for his words and the way he could always find something to shoot back at someone stood completely and utterly dumbfounded. There was some ray of truth in her accusations - he didn't know if he would have stayed around if it hadn't been for Madison. Ever since he became famous he had corrupted people - drove his own wife to cocaine and other men. Shanea deserved better then that. He had kept his distance so she didn't get dragged down with him.
"I didn't want me and you to end up like me and Kim.." He muttered, their eyes still locked in a passionate and painful stare. "I didn't want that for you.." He whispered, backing away from Madison's door. "..for us.." He shook his head and walked towards the front door. "I'll holler at you later.." He threw his hand up and saw himself out - leaving Shanea standing alone in the hallway.
~
"I don't know what to do, Proof. Shanea's - everything to me but shit she's bein' shady as hell.. one minute I'm thinkin' were gonna be a family and the next she's tellin' me she don't give a fuck about none of this.. about us.."
It had been a day - barely twenty-four hours since he had seen Shanea and he missed her, missed seeing Madison. "A family? She had your kid man - it ain't like ya'll been dating for the past five years. You been runnin' around with those nasty groupie's of yours and she's been' raisin' that baby on her own.. you gotta stop livin' in this fantasy world Slim where you're some saint and everyone else is the bad guy."
"I ain't livin' in no fuckin' fantasy, Proof. Damn." Marshall growled, grabbing a drink from his fridge. Hailie was spending the night with her cousin Alaina and he was alone in the huge mansion they lived in. Kim was still missing in action and now he had Proof on his case. "I know I fucked up with Shanea but I've been here - every fuckin' second since I found out about Madison and she won't even talk to me about anythin' but her. It's like she don't want nothing to do with me personally and it's eaten' away at me, man."
"I don't know what to tell you man.. maybe it just wasn't meant to be with her - maybe there's someone else.." Proof assured, not believing that himself but it was nearly one a.m. and unlike Marshall he had business to conduct in the early morning. "There ain't no one else, Proof. You smokin' again? Look at me - there was Kim and that was just a mistake from the beginning and then there's Shanea and the higher up keeps throwin' her in my path.."
"Well go talk to her then damn - I ain't no fuckin' therapist, man - I don't know what the hell ya'lls problem is. My advice is go fuck her brains out - use a rubber - and she'll come around. Oh Marshall, I love you. You my baby's daddy." Proof teased, laughing as he tried to impersonate Shanea's voice. "Fuck you man." Marshall laughed, closing his cell phone without a goodbye. He reopened it after a minute and dialed a number, waiting patiently for someone to answer.
"Hey."
"Hi."
"I really need to see you."
"Marshall.."
"Please, Shay.."
After a minute Marshall closed the infamous cell phone and threw it on the counter, moving quickly towards the shower.
~
Shanea watched the large gates open slowly - amazed at the size of Marshall's estate. He had really done something for himself - coming a long way from the tiny trailer park they grew up in. She parked her car in the driveway and sat behind the wheel, trying to figure out for herself why she was even there. After Madison was born and Marshall was nowhere to be found she vowed to herself she'd never let him screw with her every again - but Madison deserved to have a father figure in her life and if it just happened to be the very wealthy Eminem, so be it.
So here she was - standing nervously in front of large oak doors waiting for some kinda maid or butler to greet her - only for Madison. To her surprise Marshall opened the door after she knocked twice - standing before her shirtless with baggy sweat pants on and no socks. A white towel was draped around his shoulders - his hair still damp from his shower. God, he's sexy. She thought, looking away from him quickly. Marshall ushered Shanea inside his house and closed the door.
"You want somethin' to eat or somethin', there's some Chinese food in there.. maybe some pizza, unless Hai got into that before she left.." Marshall offered, bringing her into the large living room. "No thanks." Shanea assured, sitting down on the couch quietly. She folded her hands in her lap and kept her eyes on the expensive plush carpet. "Is this how its gonna be with us from here on out, Shay? We ain't even friends no more?" He asked suddenly, causing her to look at him - a blank, emotionless expression on her beautiful face.
"I don't know anymore, Em. You don't even realize how much you hurt me when you left... again. Remember the first time we had sex and you hadn't even got your pants back on before you and Kim were together again? Then you come back - we do it again - and you run off to go be with her."
Shanea shook her head, not wanting to remember all the nights she cried over his stupid ass.
"I didn't run off to go be with Kim, damnit Shanea. I know I fucked up with that but damn you don't get it - I have responsibilities, Dre and Proof pullin' me in all different directions - I almost went to fuckin' jail over Kim's stupid ass." Marshall sighed and leaned back into the couch, closing his eyes. His stress level was at the max. "There was so much shit goin' on with me but the second I got a fuckin' break you know where I went? Straight to your fuckin' house lookin' for you - some grandma telling me you'd skipped town."
"I just can't do it no more, Marshall. I've got to be strong when it comes to Madison - she's everything to me, you know how it is."
Marshall nodded, "..but I need you in my life. I'll do anything for you Shanea - anything you want I'll give it to you just give me a chance.." He pleaded, sitting up and taking her hands in his own. "Just be there for Madison, Em. She needs you more then I do."
~
Three weeks later.
"Daddy!" Madison ran towards Marshall quickly, giggling as he scooped her up in his strong arms and hugged her tightly. "I missed you daddy." She assured, wrapping her arms around his neck while he kissed her forehead. "I missed you too baby." He murmured, holding her tightly.
Shanea was standing at the airport counter with her arms crossed in front of her chest, smiling. Marshall had been in Los Angeles for a week trying to get things together - leaving Proof in charge while he took care of some 'family things'. A part of her didn't expect him to come back - he could go to the bathroom and a part of her thought he was gone forever but to her surprise he was there, holding his daughter.
"I'm impressed." Marshall let Madison down slowly and looked up at Shanea. "Maybe one day you'll start believing' me.." He muttered, turning his attention back to Madison as she grabbed his hand and drug him towards the window. "Air-pwanes, daddy - look."
~
Marshall flipped through the TV Channels quickly - another night with nothing to watch. He leaned back on the couch and sighed, looking around the deserted living room. Hailie was asleep in her bedroom down the hall - it was nearly 2am. He turned off the TV and ran his hands over his face and through his hair, sighing deeply at the many thoughts that ran through his head. Proof was responsible - he would take care of Shady Records for the next few weeks, letting Marshall listen in on meetings via cell phone and speaker phone.
Someone knocked on the door softly - causing him to sit up straight and look around. Who would be coming to his house this late? He had called to talk to Madison around eight and Shanea was going to bed early. He stood up and adjusted his sweat pants - pulling on a white tank top that lay carelessly on the coffee table.
"Who is it?" He demanded, looking through the 'peep hole' on the large oak door. To his surprise, Kim was standing in the driveway, a large black duffle bag on her shoulder. Her hair was wild and unkempt, her eyes tired and red. "It's me." She whispered, stepping up to the door as he opened it and stared at her. Marshall could feel his rage and anger quickly building up inside of him.
"What are you doin' here?"
"I.. didn't have nowhere else to go.." Kim whispered, looking up at him. Her eyes were definitely red and she was shaking in her skin, shifting her bag nervously on her shoulder as he studied her. He wasn't stupid - he had done drugs with the best of them once upon a time - she was fucked up. "Where the fuck have you been, Kim? Do you even know what you put Hailie through?" Marshall growled, not allowing her to come into his home. She stood there looking at him, unsure of what to say.
"Go find somewhere else to stay Kim."
"Mommy?"
Marshall sighed and lifted his head to the sky, defeated as Hailie ran through the house and hugged her mother tightly. "Mommy! Where have you been I've been waiting for you to come home so we could play together. Daddy bought me a new play station game and its really fun with a dragon." Hailie guided her mother into the house and hugged her again, "I really missed you."
"I missed you too honey but it's okay, mommy's back." Kim looked up at Marshall and smiled, hugging her daughter quickly.
~
Kim walked into the kitchen slowly, setting her hair brush down on the counter. Marshall was sitting at the bar with his elbows rested on the counter and his head in his hands. He sniffed loudly and looked up, his eyes red from grief and confusion. He didn't know how he was going to get Kim out of his life - make up with Shanea, keep Madison and Hailie happy. It was getting to be to much for him.
"I feel better." Her voice broke the beautiful silence and Marshall sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. "You need to go."
"I don't have anywhere to go, Marshall. I came back to get help - for us and for Hailie." She assured, sitting down beside him. "There is no 'us' Kim - there hasn't been for a long time. I'll give you money for a hotel but you ain't stayin' here."
"What's your problem, Marshall? God I thought you'd be happy to see me." Marshall laughed slightly, finally looking over at her. "Happy to see you? Kim - you fuckin' left and no one knew where you was - Hailie's been worried sick about you. Shit you just bein' here now is putting me in jeopardy and I ain't goin' to jail for your ass. You only think about yourself."
"Fuck that Marshall. I know what this is about - Hailie told me about Shanea and your daughter. I can't believe you would cheat on me!"
"Cheat on you? What the fuck! How many times have you cheated on me Kim and lied about it? Me and Shay hooked up after our divorce was finalized so don't even think for a second you've got anything on me."
Kim stood up from her chair and glared at Marshall, "You're just trying to move Shanea in - trying to replace me! You don't love me anymore!" She screamed loudly, her annoying voice filling the house - causing Hailie to wake up and run to her bedroom door. The eight year old watched as her mom and dad screamed at each other, both cussing terribly and making crazy accusations. "Get the fuck out Kim, now."
Hailie watched as Kim grabbed her things off the coffee table in the living room, spotting her daughter at her door. "Mommy's got to go Hai - Daddy's kicking me out AGAIN. He doesn't love me anymore, he doesn't even love you." She spat, pushing past Marshall as he moved towards them. If Hailie wasn't standing there he would have snapped Kim's neck without a second thought. "No Mommy don't go!" Hailie cried, running towards her mother - only to have the front door slammed in her face.
"Hai, baby - your mommy's sick okay? I do love you - more then anything."
Hailie banged her tiny fists on the front door and cried loudly, "No you don't! You only care about Shanea and Madison! I hate you!" She screamed, running past him and back into her bedroom, slamming the door loudly. Marshall tried to go after her but the door was locked. He was defeated.

This is a repost cause the part I wrote last wasn't making sense to me and I couldn't figure out where to go with it - sorry for the inconvenience! Won't happen again! Enjoy!
The next night.
Shanea looked up from her book slowly, flinching as a loud boom of thunder echoed in the small apartment. She shivered slightly and tucked her legs underneath herself, trying not to think about the bright flash of lightening that cracked just outside her window. Madison was sleeping over at her brother’s house so she could go to his youngest son’s birthday in the morning.
Someone banged on the front door loudly - causing her to yelp out in surprise and jump to her feet. They knocked again as the rain poured down from the heavens, soaking whoever was outside. Shanea went to the door and looked out the 'peep hole' trying to figure out who would be coming to see her at this hour. To her surprise, Marshall was standing in the rain with a large gray hooded coat on. "Let me in." He begged, relieved as the door opened quickly.
"Get in here, geez - you're soaked."
Marshall walked into her apartment and removed his coat; wiping the water from his face. His eyes were bloodshot and red, barely looking at her as she guided him towards the couch. "Are you alright?" Shanea asked, sitting down beside him. "No."
At least he was honest. Marshall leaned back into the couch and sighed, covering his face with his hands. He had cried all the way to her apartment and then sat in the parking lot trying to get control of his emotions. Hailie had never once said she hated him and now she was staying with her aunt Dawn. Only GOD knew when she would come back to him. Kim had really fucked up this time - telling their daughter that she was hated, it was lower then any stunt she had ever pulled.
"I didn't have no where else to go.." He whispered, keeping his eyes closed as fresh tears appeared just under the rims. "It's okay, Marshall. Just talk to me? What happened?"
"Hailie," he coughed - wiping his eyes with the palm of his hand. "Kim showed up last night and got pissed at me - she told Hai that I hated her and only cared about you and Madison.." Shanea looked at him in disbelief. That was a terrible thing to say to an eight year old. "Marshall - I'm sorry." He shook his head and finally looked at her, pain and grief in his amazing eyes. "I love you and Madison.. I love Hailie too - I never wanted her to think I didn't." He muttered, closing his eyes once again as tears formed and emotion cracked in his voice.
"Hailie's just confused, Em. This is all new to her and she's probably feeling left out. You need to do something nice with her.." Marshall nodded in agreement and sighed, "I know - but who has time. She's in school and Proof's goin' crazy in L.A. without me. I feel like I haven't seen Madison at all this week and you.. hell I don't even fuckin' know how I'm supposed to patch things up with you.."
Shanea placed her hand on his knee and sighed, looking into his eyes. "Let's do something. Madison's with Michael tonight - we can go get some food and talk, okay?" Marshall nodded and stood up with her - moving towards the door.
~
"God, I love this food." Marshall assured, stuffing the last of his taco into his mouth. Shanea laughed and poked at her finished salad, looking around the parking lot of Marshall's favorite fast food place, Taco Bell. They couldn't go inside to eat because of his 'fame' and the inconvenience of a hundred people pestering them for the rest of the night so Shanea went inside and ordered - bringing the food back to the SUV.
"You should go get Hailie in the morning and bring her to Mikey's party. I think she will have fun - Mike's two girls are her age, Amanda is nine and Dakota is seven." Shanea explained, "Plus that will give you a chance to be around her and Madison at the same time. Madison loves Hailie to death."
"Alright," He nodded his head and smiled for the first time in two days. "I think she'll like that." He threw their food into the trash can beside the SUV and stared the large vehicle quickly. "Where to now?" Shanea looked at her watch - eleven pm. "Doesn't matter.." She assured.
~
Shanea jumped as a large bolt of lightening lit up the sky - causing her to lean back into the comfortable seat. She watched Marshall stay completely calm - staring out the windshield as if he were in a daze. "Storms are peaceful - makes you think about washin' away all your sins. All the bad shit you've done in a lifetime just.. doesn't matter when its raining." He wasn't really talking to her - just talking in general.
"Very poetic, Em." She assured with a laugh, causing him to finally look at her and smirk. "Whatever."
They sat in silence for a few moments - listening to fat rain drops falling on the roof of the vehicle. It reminded her of being a teenager and driving her mother’s car - taking Marshall down to Malone's so they could have some money for liquor and cigarettes. Back when things were simple. "I haven't really got the chance to thank you, Em.." Shanea stated, her voice barely over a whisper. He looked at her - confusion on his attractive face.
"What? For what?"
She smiled at him and slipped her hand into his, which rested on the center console of the SUV. "You've really surprised me - sticking around for Madison and being there for her. She adores you and I'm so.. thankful that your in her life." Marshall kept his eyes on their entwined fingers - watching her manicured nails dig into his hand with a gentle squeeze. He turned his head slightly and looked at her; his eyes lingering on her slightly parted lips.
"One day you'll realize that I'm here - patiently waitin' for you.."
"I know, Em.."
"You don't - you think you do but you don't. I'm not givin' up on us.." He assured, his voice deep and mesmerizing - causing Shanea to lean forward so she could hear him. "You're still everything.." Marshall leaned forward and placed his lips against Shanea's, an overwhelming surprise filling his heart as she moved in closer and returned the gesture.
~
Thunder boomed loudly - rattling the windows and Shanea's very soul. She sank into her bed and closed her eyes, smiling once she felt a strong arm slip around her midsection and pull her into his embrace. Marshall buried his face into her hair, taking in a deep breath of rose shampoo and vanilla perfume. They had returned to her apartment about an hour earlier - finally breaking away from their juvenile 'make out session'. Luckily for them - Marshall always had a few changes of clean clothes in his vehicle and Shanea was willing to let him spend the night, since it was storming and she didn't want to be alone.
"You remember when my mom would kick me out the house? You'd let me stay with you for days.." He murmured into her neck, causing goose bumps to form on her skin as she recalled the many nights he would hold her just like this - especially when her father would be home, screaming at her mother for hours on end. They would lock the door and sleep until they were alone again.
"I remember." She answered quietly, feeling his lips graze the bend of her shoulder before disappearing - causing a small sigh to escape her lips. They hadn't slept together - hadn't even kissed since returning to the apartment but it was there; the want and need in his touch amazed her. "It would be nice to go back to that - not the drama with our parents but us.. innocent and problem free. There was just battles and chillin' with each other. Hell I bet Proof would be happy to go back to the good ole days - as long as he could keep the money."
Shanea laughed, all the guys she had grown up with were now big rap stars with millions of dollars and she was just a single mother trying to finish nursing school and work a part time job. Things hadn't turned out exactly how she had planned but Marshall was still there - with her.
"I love you, Shanea." He mumbled into her hair. She felt his arm go limp around her as he drifted off to sleep - breathing peacefully against her neck as sleep took over his over worked mind. "I love you too, Em.." She assured quietly, closing her eyes.
~
“Marshall.” Shanea’s soft voice caused his eyes to open, a quiet moan escaping his throat as she straddled his mid section. His hands went to her hips mechanically and held her still, over taken by the sensations she was causing him to have. Her hair cascaded over her shoulders and down her back - staring back at him with those beautiful eyes of hers. “Em..”
He took in a deep breath and closed his eyes, gritting his teeth together as she moved on top of him - grinding her hips into his growing erection. His thick sweat pants and her lacy panties were all that kept them apart - and it was to much. Marshall slid his hands up her back pulled her down to meet his hungry mouth - kissing her with every bit of passion he held.
He pushed her up from the bed - never breaking their kiss - and slid her down on the soft mattress, crawling on top of her quickly. He had never wanted anyone or anything as bad as this.
“Marshall..”
“Marshall!”
Marshall opened his eyes quickly and looked around - surprised to see a pillow where Shanea’s mouth once was. He shook his head slightly and turned around, finally noticing Shanea as she stood at the end of the bed - glaring.
“If we’re gonna get Hailie we’ve got to go - Mike lives about an hour away.” She explained, watching Marshall emerge from the bed - wrapping a sheet around him to hide the large tent in his sweat pants. He was breathing heavily and trying to figure out what had happened. A dream. The best dream he’d ever had.
“Mmm, give me ten minutes.” He muttered, disappearing into the bathroom.
~
Marshall opened the door and watched Shanea get into the SUV - smiling at him. She was wearing a lacy red camisole and tight flared blue jeans. http://www.shopbrowneyedgirl.com/classics/images/IMG_1284_small.jpg lol) Her long brown hair pulled back in a pony tail with rose colored lips and those familiar blue eyes. She was beautiful.
“You look - beautiful..” He assured as they drove down the street and towards Dawn’s house.
“Thanks..” Was all she could reply.
~
“Hailie. Your dad’s here.” Dawn yelled through the house - not only did she look like Kim but she was as loud an annoying as well.
“Tell him to go away!”
Marshall frowned, glancing over at Shanea. The hurt and pain he had felt the day before was quickly returning - full force. To his surprise, Shanea slipped her hand into his and moved through the small house.
“Hailie, sweet - we’ve come to invite you to Madison’s cousin’s birthday party. Why don’t you and Alaina get ready and we’ll all go have some fun?”
Hailie peeked her head out of Alaina’s bedroom and looked at Shanea, considering what she was saying. “You want me to come too?”
“Of course I want you to come, sweet heart. Tell Alaina that she’s more than welcome to come as well..”
Hailie nodded her head excitedly and disappeared into the bedroom - returning a few minutes later with her dark haired cousin in tow. Marshall gave Shanea’s hand a little squeeze and leaned into her as they walked towards the door.
“You’re really good with kids - you know that?”
“Yeah.” She assured, with a grin. “Go talk to Hailie - I’m going to introduce myself to Alaina.” Marshall frowned at the thought and stepped back as Shanea let go of his hand. It was now or never. “Hi, Lani’. I’m Shanea. Your dress is very pretty.”
~
Hailie looked up at her father, a sad - confused expression on her precious face. She held his eye contact for a moment and then looked away, crossing her arms in front of her protectively.
“Don’t talk to me, daddy.”
Marshall knelt down in front of her and sighed, trying to think of the right thing to say. He glanced behind himself - watching Shanea and Alaina giggle about something and walk towards the SUV holding hands.
“God“, he thought, “I love this woman.”
“Listen to me Hailie Jade. I love you - you are my little girl, okay? You mean - more to me then words could explain I swear.” He assured, talking quietly to her. Hailie looked at him again - tears building up in her eyes. “Mommy said..”
“Your mom is sick baby - you remember what you learned about drugs in school right? Mommy needs to get help so she stops being the way she is and I swear I’m gonna help her, okay baby? I know she didn’t mean to say what she did - she was just mad at me. We both love you very much, Hailie.”
Hailie nodded her head and forced a smile, she knew her dad loved her - but she didn’t understand why he and her mother hated one another so badly and why she was always thrown in the middle of their situations.
“Okay daddy. I don’t hate you either..” She whispered, hugging his neck tightly. “What about Shanea and Madison though?”
Marshall stood up and picked Hailie up in his arms, causing her to giggle. “I love them just as much as I love you, baby.” Hailie looked over at Shanea - smiling as she watched her tickle Alaina and make her laugh.
“That’s okay, daddy. I think she’s nice..”
~
“Mommy!” Madison stumbled towards Shanea quickly and laughed, falling into her mothers waiting arms. “Mommy, mommy… wook at what uncle Mike give me!” She cried happily, waving a small stuffed animal in front of Shanea’s face quickly.
“Oh, that’s lovely Madison. What’s its name?”
“I’m name it… daddy!”
Her little face lit up at the sight of her father, reaching for him as he emerged from the vehicle with Hailie and Alaina. “Daddy! Where have you been?” She demanded, her tiny hands on her hips. “Wook - you bring Hailie, too?!” Hailie waved towards Madison and smiled, taking her shy cousin’s hand.
“Hi Madison - this is my cousin Alaina.”
“Hi..” Bashfulness took over the toddler and she leaned her face into Marshall’s shoulder, peeking over at Alaina and waving. A moment passed and she was ready to go again - squirming away from her father and running back to the party.
“Come on Hailie and Waynea! We get birf-day cake.”
Marshall smiled over at Shanea as the three girls ran off towards the party together. “I told you everything was going to be alright, Em.” He took her hand and placed an innocent kiss on the back of it - looking up at her.
“Thank you..”

“Did you have fun over at uncle Mike’s house last night Madison?” Shanea asked, placing her arm protectively over her daughters shoulder. They were sitting in the back of Marshall’s SUV together because there was no car seat - Hailie sitting up front with her dad.
“It was fun mommy. I like when Hailie and Lani come over to play.”
Hailie smiled over at Marshall - listening to the little girl talk about the party they were all just at. “Dere was a clown and ever thing, daddy!”
“Can Shanea and Madison stay over at our house tonight? We could watch movies and eat popcorn..” Hailie suggested, turning around to smile at Madison.
“Dat would be fun!”
Marshall looked into the rearview mirror and met Shanea’s eyes, a blank expression on her face.
~
10:27pm
Shanea yawned, sinking down into the couch. Madison and Hailie were asleep on the love seat; Marshall sat quietly beside her, staring at the TV. The feelings he was having - for her, for the way she treated his kids - it was the only thing going through his mind. He loved her - for more reasons then he could count and had no idea where they stood in their relationship.
“Hailie has a king sized bed - custom made so it sits low on the floor. You think Madison can sleep in there with her tonight?”
Shanea nodded at the question and sat up, watching the two girls sleep soundly. “I think she’ll be okay - she really likes all this ‘big girl’ treatment.” Marshall grinned and stood to his feet, scooping Madison up in his arms. Shanea followed suit and picked up Hailie’s limp little body - following Marshall into her very pink and purple bedroom.
They laid the kids down on the bed and tucked them in - both lost in a world of sleep. It had been an exciting and busy day for all of them.
~
Marshall emerged back into the living room and returned to his seat on the couch - watching as Shanea made her way across the large room. She was wearing one of his large white t-shirts and baggy gray sweat pants - holding them by the waist as she walked so they didn’t fall down.
She yawned and sat down beside him closely - resting her hand in his lap and her head on his chest. Marshall pulled her into his embrace and sighed, taking a deep relaxing breath. “I couldn’t have got through today - this shit with Kim and Hailie - without you, Shanea. You know that right?”
Shanea nodded her head slightly and closed her eyes, her hand idly moving across his lap just enough to catch his attention. “I’m glad things are better with all of us..” She mumbled, her tense body relaxing slowly as Marshall ran his finger tips through her hair. “Me, too..”
Marshall rested his lips on the top of Shanea’s head and took in a breath of her hair - closing his eyes slowly. She was lying peacefully on his chest - fast asleep.
~
Shanea winced in pain as she opened her eyes - looking around the large room. The TV screen was blue and silent, her back - screaming in pain. She was getting to old to be sleeping on a couch - no matter how expensive it was.
Marshall was asleep beside her with his head leaned back - snoring slightly from lack of sleep, stress and a five year olds birthday party. She touched his chest and stirred him - causing him to open his eyes and looked at her. “Yeah?”
“Don’t you have a bed in this place?” She whispered, relieved that Madison and Hailie were still sound asleep in the bedroom down the hall. “Yeah…” Marshall took in a breath and ran a hand over his face - waking up slightly before he stood and guided her down the hall to the master bedroom.
“Wow, nice..” Shanea looked around the room - a king sized bed sat in the middle of a big screen TV, stereo - bar. “Wow..” She muttered again, glancing over at him. Marshall went to his bed and climbed in, burring his face into the plush pillows. Shanea followed him and slid under the covers, sighing happily.
She could definitely get used to this.
~
5:24am
The touch was like feathers on her skin - barely noticeable but it woke her from the deepest depth of sleep she knew. Shanea kept her eyes closed as Marshall brushed his fingers along her side, causing her to stir slightly. He couldn't take another second of not being able to sleep - another second of looking at how beautiful she was. Her lips pressed together in discomfort - feeling his breath warm and inviting.
Shanea's eyes opened - meeting his quickly.
"Hey.." He smiled, childishly as she frowned at him and returned to the darkness behind her lids. "It's still dark out." She moaned. Once he knew she was awake he took the advantage to slide his arm around her and pull her into his embrace, their chests touching - lips brushing.
Shanea moaned.
That was all he needed; Marshall kissed her gently, licking her lips for entrance. They kissed slowly - taking in each other, building up what they each wanted so badly. Shanea pulled him closer and deepened the kiss, sliding her tongue into his waiting mouth as another moan escaped him.
"..want you.." He breathed, barely able to think of a complete sentence - moving over her; his weight pressing her into the thick, soft bedding. She was breathing hard - her chest heaving in anticipation, nervousness flooding her senses as he parted her legs and grinded the bulge in his sweat pants against the thin fabric of her own. "..its been to long.." He croaked, one hand lost in her hair as the other traveled idly down her body - pulling her sweat pants down just enough to gain access to his destination.
"Mm..marshall..?"
"Ssh, baby.." He whispered against her mouth, moving his fingers past the elastic band and to the crotch of her damp panties. His tongue traced a wet line across her collarbone just as two fingers slipped inside - her body going completely stiff. "Does that feel good baby?" Shanea nodded - looking at him from behind her lowered eyelids, lost in passion - unable to breathe. He slipped his fingers into her and back out, rubbing her through her panties as she arched her back and begged him for more.
"Em.. please.."
"Tell me what you want, baby.." He whispered, pressing his dick into her thigh. He felt like he was going to explode then and there but with every bit of control he had - he waited, listening to her shallow breath on his neck - the words trying to find their way out. "..you.." Shanea spread her legs further apart and pushed her sweat pants down her thighs as Marshall ridded himself of his own. "Right here?" He asked, touching her clit before moving his fingers into her opening again.
She could only shake her head 'yes' and watch him holding his dick at her opening, sliding it up and down the wet folds of her sex. She moaned and squirmed beneath him - wondering if this was some sort of wild dream? He had never done anything like that before. "Fuck, you feel good." Marshall groaned - staring down at her as if he was lost. He pushed just the tip of his dick into her and watched as she nearly came then and there - it had been, she couldn't remember the last time since she had felt something as good as that.
"Don't make me beg.." She hissed, meeting his gaze as he advanced on top of her and entered her hot, waiting core with one swift movement. His breath choked in the back of his throat and he couldn't stop looking at her; feeling her move against him as he tried to find composure. The feeling of her - there with him, giving him another chance at something it was almost to much for him. "God, Shay.."
"Harder.." She pleaded as he rested his weight on his elbows and thrust into her, keeping his eyes locked on her lips, her eyes - they kissed for a moment and then he buried his face into her shoulder, nibbling on her smooth skin as he poured a lifetime of want and desire into her. "...so close.." He whispered, thrusting faster - causing her to cry out as he slammed into her. "Fuck, Shanea. I love you." Their eyes met once again and she looked at him, riding out their orgasms together as the sensations took over their minds, their hearts.
"I love you so fucking much.." She could hear the pain in his voice, the heart wrenching guilt and worry that she just didn't feel the same anymore. "..you're beautiful.. everything I ever fuckin' wanted.." Marshall continued, kissing her a few times before he finally regained control of himself. He pulled out of her and grabbed the handy box of tissue beside his bed - concentrating on cleaning up the mess he had made instead of the look on her face. "Em.." She breathed, touching his arm as he looked at her finally.
"..I love you too.."
~
Three days later.
"You're going away again, aren't you?"
Marshall turned around quickly and closed his cell phone without saying goodbye; staring at Shanea as she stood in the doorway of his bedroom. She looked so beautiful but her eyes, they were sad and dark; looking at everything but him.
"Proof and Dre are beefin' over some lost paperwork.." His voice was barely there, strangled and nervous in his throat. Why did she always have to look like that? Her hair fell past her shoulders in wet curls; pink lips opened just enough to show a sliver of pearly white teeth. She fiddled with the inexpensive tin ring around her middle finger and refused to meet his demanding eyes.
Marshall moved across the room in three quick strides - cupping her face in his hands gently.
"Look at me." She refused. "Shay.. look.. at.. me.." He guided her face up to meet his and smiled, his heart breaking at the look she was giving him. He had only known about Proof's request for ten minutes and already she felt as if he was gone - maybe to return one day with apologies but she wouldn't allow it. If he walked out of Madison's life now - she'd never let him come back.
"Baby, listen to me please.." Marshall wrapped his arms around her thin body and held her against his chest, stroking her hair with his fingers as she sighed - choking back her own sobs of grief. This was the part she had always hated. The goodbyes. "Don't, please.. don't say it.." She had never begged - not once in the many years he knew her had she ever sounded so lost and afraid. "Shanea.. you're coming with me.."
"What?"
He held her at arms length and smiled, "Four first class tickets to Los Angeles - me, you, Hai and Madi." Marshall assured, grinning at her as she looked at him - fear turning into confusion and then realization. "I have to go to work." She stated, looking away from him and then back again.
"Shay, baby - you told a very rich man that you loved him the other night. You shouldn't worry about things like work right now.." He murmured, pulling her back towards him - placing an innocent kiss on her lips. She kissed him back, slipping her tongue against his. They stood in his bedroom for a few minutes - kissing passionately, barely able to hear the pitter patter of tiny feet down the hall.
Madison gasped dramatically - turning around and running back towards Hailie's room. "Daddy kiss mommy!" She yelled, screaming as Marshall chased her down the hall and scooped her up in his strong arms. "Hailie, daddy kiss mommy.." Hailie looked up from her coloring book - meeting Marshall's eyes quickly.
"What?"
The toddler was over took with laughter as Marshall tickled her and tossed her into the air. "Daddy..." she tried, with no prevail - giggling wildly. Marshall tossed her on the large, plush purple bed and went to Hailie - causing her to scream as well as he attacked her with tickles. "No! I don't like it!" The eight year old cried, giggling and trying desperately to push him away. He lifted her in the air and placed her beside Madison on the bed - laughing as both girls tried to crawl away from him.
At the door Shanea stood with her arms crossed in front of her chest - unnoticed by anyone else in the room. She smiled and wiped at the silent tears that fell past her cheeks. Marshall would never know how much she loved him - for giving Madison a father, for being an amazing person.
~
"I don’t wanna sit in the baby chair!" Madison growled, pushing Shanea away as she desperately tried to lock the car seat down in the air plane chair. Frustrated, she turned to Marshall who took over - talking to Madison in a calm, adult voice. "Hailie get to sit in the big chair!" She whined, throwing her arms up in the air angrily.
~
"You okay?"
Shanea glanced over at Hailie, watching the little girl curl up in the chair - drifting off to sleep. She looked at Madison next and smiled, relieved that she too was finally dozing off. They had been in the air for two hours. "First time.." She muttered, clutching the arm rest in her hands. Marshall slid his hand over hers and squeezed it gently, causing her to relax. "Guess we've shared a few first times together, huh." He teased, grinning ear to ear.
"Yeah, my first times not yours - slut."
"Slut? Oh you didn't." He growled in mock anger. "Kim didn't count - she was.." He glanced over at Hailie and moved in closer to Shanea's ear. "..a loose ass trick, ya know? God but you.." His voice grew quieter and he stopped, deciding against joining the mile high club. Especially while his two daughters were sitting innocently beside him. "..you know.."
Shanea rolled her eyes and assured him that he was a 'pig' before leaning down to rest her head on his chest. He wrapped an arm protectively around her and smiled, kissing the top of her head. "Get some rest.. I won't let nothin' happen to you.." Marshall whispered, placing a sweet kiss on her forehead before leaning back to enjoy the 'in-flight' movie.
~
Proof spun around in his 'fancy' chair and stopped dead in his tracks - choking on his breath as Marshall and Shanea walked into the large business room. "Nice to see you holdin' the fort down, dude." Marshall assured with a laugh - slapping hands with DeShaun as he stood to his feet.
"Shanea Rea - girl where the fuck you been all my life?" Proof demanded, sliding across the floor to wrap his arms around Shanea tightly. "Yo, nigga go call Biz and get his fat ass in here NOW." He yelled towards an assistant, watching the scrawny kid scramble to his feet and run out the door. "I love doin' that - damn, girl. You are lookin' fine.. you and him ain't together right 'cause damn.. I could take you out."
Marshall glared at Proof, pulling him away from Shanea by the back of his jersey. Bizarre walked into the room quickly - all three hundred pounds of him rushing Shanea's petite body as he picked her up in a huge bear hug. "Damn girl! I missed you."
"Uncle Proof?"
DeShaun turned around to face the door - smiling as Hailie walked into the room holding Madison's tiny hand as she walked. The toddler hid behind Hailie and looked around, her eyes going wide once she saw Bizarre. "Daddy!"
"Daddy?"
Proof watched the little girl run towards Marshall and grab a hold of his leg, burring her face into his calf. "Daddy?" Shanea nodded her head at Proof - assuring him that not only was Madison her daughter but Marshall's as well. "Damn fool - you got super sperm or somethin'." Bizarre laughed - catching Marshall's glare - knowing better then to talk that way in front of Hailie or Madison.
"Sorry.."
"Come on, Em - you gotta put this family business to rest for a while and go see Dre before that old man whips my ass all over Aftermath." Proof, Bizarre and Marshall said goodbye to Shanea and the girls - directing them to their very large, very expensive hotel just down the street.
~
"Do you love my dad?"
Shanea looked over at Hailie; glancing at Madison as she played quietly in the kiddy pool at the hotel. "Hailie, honey.." The little girl sighed and sat down beside her on the large towel. "Do you love him like mom used to?" She continued, causing their conversation to become even more untimely.
"I do love your dad, Hai. I love you too - very much." Shanea assured quietly, praying this conversation didn't turn sour. "Do you love him like a boyfriend or just a friend?"
"Are you okay honey? Did someone say something to you?"
"No. Well, Madi said you guys were kissin' the other day.." Hailie mumbled, looking down at her hands. "Sweetheart, you're dad and me have been friends for a very long time. I would never try to take your mom's place though - when she gets better I promise you she'll be around to play with you and do all those things mommy's do."
The sadness in Hailie's eyes broke Shanea's heart; "Mommy never did the things like you do. She just yelled a lot at Daddy. I don't think she loves me at all.." Before Hailie could protest Shanea's arms were around her tightly, bringing the small child into her embrace. "Hai, baby - don't ever think that, okay? Remember what we talked about? Your mom's going through a rough time but she'll get better and she loves you - so much."
"Why doesn't she ever call?"
"I don't know baby. Maybe we can find the number when Marshall gets back and call her? Sound good?"
Hailie nodded her head nervously and sighed, "It's okay if you love daddy like a boyfriend." Shanea smiled, "Well thank you, honey. Let's go get Madi and go down to that ice cream place beside the studio? Want to?" The little girl nodded her head happily and stood to her feet.
"Can I get the superman kind?"
~
"Did you have fun with Shanea today?" Hailie nodded her head and smiled, "She's really nice - she let me get ice cream and then we watched The Little Mermaid Two! She didn't even yell at me when I dropped some on the carpet.."
Marshall hugged his eldest daughter tightly and let her run off towards the pool with Madison. "Hailie's had a rough life, huh?" Shanea asked, appearing behind him suddenly. "Yeah - me and Kim fought, well shit you know how bad..." He muttered, keeping his eyes glued to Hailie as she played. "Then we got married - then we got divorced.. Kim's been a bitch to us ever since. I try not to fight with her when she comes around but damn it's like its impossible.."
Shanea nodded her head, "Oh, and Hailie said you just liked me as friends?" He added, grinning as her eyes went wide. "Oh that - I didn't really know how to explain us to her." She explained quietly, her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.
"So that's it? We're still just friends?" They were standing out of the direct view of the kiddy pool and Marshall leaned down - his face inches from her own. God, he smells good. Shanea turned her eyes away with no prevail. "I never made a friend scream like that before.." He whispered with a grin causing her to shove him away playfully and move towards the pool.
~
Two weeks later.
"Is daddy coming back?"
Shanea frowned at Madison as she colored on the floor - scribbling all over the paper. She had left Marshall in Los Angeles to finish up his album and smooth things over with Proof and Dre - that was two weeks ago and she missed him, even if he had called five times a day.
"He's coming back in the morning, honey. Then he's staying for a whole month." She assured quietly, wondering how she was going to deal with this busy lifestyle now. Marshall was a famous rap artist - he'd always be in and out of their life whether she liked it or not. Madison clapped happily and crawled across the floor to her toys, picking up a barbie and a ken - crashing their faces together roughly in a kiss.
"Mommy and daddy!" She explained with a laugh, shaking the two dolls violently in the air. She grabbed another, shorter doll and threw it across the room. "Dere goes Hailie!" Shanea shook her head and laughed, returning her gaze to the window. To her surprise, a car pulled into the apartment complex parking lot and stopped - cutting the lights off.
"Madi, baby.." The toddler looked up at her mother and stopped playing with the toys. Even though she was only four she remembered that look in her mothers eyes all to well. "Go in your room and shut the door - don't come out till I say, okay?" Without hesitation, Madison scrambled to her feet and went into her bedroom, slamming the door. After a second Shanea heard Barney and Friends playing loudly from the TV.
Shit.
~
Marshall yawned and leaned back into the comfortable leather of the limo - closing his eyes as the driver took him towards Shanea's house. One day he would take her out on an amazing date with a limo and the most expensive meal Detroit offered. One day he was going to marry that girl.
"Uh, Mr. Mathers?"
Fuck, that asshole driver knew better then to talk to him. He hit the button in the limo and growled 'what' into the machine. "I'm..uh, so..sor-rry to bother you sir but there seems to be some commotion on this street.." Marshall rolled his window down and looked out - feeling his heart stop as police lights flooded his vision. Chalmers Street was completely blocked off with police vehicles.
Marshall slammed his palm into the door as he desperately tried to open it - nearly falling to the ground as he got out and took off running towards Shanea's apartment. The limo driver grabbed the steering wheel nervously - watching 'Eminem' run down the street and away from him.
"Oh, damn."
"Sir! I'm sorry but you can't go in there." Marshall shoved the officer away and moved past the crowd that had gathered, barely seeing the tall built man standing beside a police cruiser with his hands cuffed behind his back. "Sir!" Another cop yelled, grabbing Marshall roughly by the shoulder. He didn't want any trouble with the police - he was still on probation after all but nothing was keeping him out of apartment fourteen.
"Do you know who the fuck I am!?" He screamed, trying his best to keep his hands to himself. Assaulting an officer would definitely put him under the jail. "My kids up there.." He explained, quietly - running a hand over his face. If anything had happened to Shanea or Madison everyone on this street was dying tonight. The officer looked at the grief on Marshall's face and sighed, having kids himself. "Fine, let him through."
~
"Woah." Marshall slammed into Michael, Shanea's brother as he ran up the stairs and around the corner, cussing to himself as he stumbled backwards. "Mike - man, what the fucks going on? God... is she alright?"
"Everyone's alright - just a little shaken up. Shay's ex boyfriend showed up tonight, you remember Tony Vandres? Fool got wind that you and her were together." He explained, "My girls in there with Madison - Shanea's.. well.."
Marshall didn't give him a chance to explain.
"Shay? Baby?" Shanea sighed - sitting in her small kitchen with her head leaned back, an ice pack resting on her left cheek. As soon as she saw that piece of shit Chevy pull up she should have locked the door and turned out all the lights - but she knew Tony was drunk and persistent. Marshall walked towards her slowly - touching her arm as she looked at him; tears in her eyes and dark red marks on her neck.
"Oh my god..." Rage wasn't a strong enough word to describe what he was feeling that second. Some idiot had come into Shanea's home and put her and their daughter in danger - he was going to murder that mother fucker. "Daddy!"
Jessica, Michael’s girlfriend, walked out of Madison's room with the toddler in her arms - trying to hold her as she reach for her father and began crying all over again. "Daddy.. it was scary.. mommy cussed.." Madison explained, wrapping her arms around his neck as he held her. Shanea pushed herself up from the table and pulled her hair down - covering the abuse on her neck.
"I'm okay, baby.." She assured with a smile, "..and Tony is going away for a very long time - you won't have to worry about him ever again." Madison nodded and went to her mother, sniffing loudly. Marshall couldn't speak - he just stared at Shanea.
~
"What are you doing?" Shanea asked, watching as Marshall grabbed an armful of her clothes, throwing them into a trash bag. He was making a huge mess of her tiny bedroom. "We're gettin' the fuck outta here - you're coming to stay at my place for good."
"Marshall? I can't do that - this is our home."
"Fuck that Shanea - this is not negotiable. Get your shit." He growled, anger dripping from his words. "You know I'm getting real sick of all these MEN coming in here and telling me what to do!" She snapped, having enough of men all together. "That mother fucker put his hands on you - after I get you set up at my place I'm going to kill that god damn asshole!"
"I took care of Tony, Em. He's going to fucking jail okay? I don't have to go anywhere."
Suddenly Marshall spun around and grabbed Shanea roughly by the arms, "Don't fucking argue with me Shanea - he could have killed you! What the fuck would I have done then? He could have hurt Madison!" Marshall was seeing read. "How the fuck could you date someone like that?!"
His finger nails were digging into her arm - holding her tightly. After a moment he saw the look in her eyes, fear mixed with pain and confusion. Oh my god. He let go of her quickly and stumbled back, watching her retract her arm and hold the spot he had grabbed.
"Shay.. I'm sorry.."
"Don't blame this shit on me, Marshall. That asshole has harassed me for years but what the fuck am I supposed to do about it? I've been alone, remember!?" She yelled, backing away from him. "He used to beat the fuck out of me but I NEVER let him touch Madi!"
~
"Are you going to get out?"
Shanea looked at Marshall with emotionless eyes - watching him stand there like a fish out of water, holding the passenger’s door open for her to come inside. She didn't want Madison to have to stay at their apartment tonight after what had happened but this was the last place she wanted to be. She slipped from the seat and walked on shaky legs towards the large estate.
"Shanea, I'm sorry for blowing up like that.." Marshall frowned, noticing Shanea flinch when he touched her back. It was useless. Hailie and Madison told them goodnight and disappeared into her bedroom to color and watch TV for another thirty minutes - leaving Shanea and Marshall alone in the living room.
"You aren't gonna talk to me ever again?"
She didn't answer him - just laid down on the couch and closed her eyes, turning her back to him. Marshall growled in his throat and stomped off down the hall towards his room. If she wanted to be a bitch then so be it. He wasn't gonna beg.
~
Marshall tossed in his large bed, lying on his side and then returning to his back. The small alarm clock blinked 3:23am. Fuck. This definitely wasn't how he planning on spending his first night back - alone in his room, Shanea mad at him and some psycho ex boyfriend treating her like a rag doll. He was still angry - planning on a way to murder the fucker that had touched Shanea. This was only one time that he knew of but by the way Shanea talked - it hadn't been her first. How the fuck could he just leave her alone like that all those years?
The once forgotten grief and despair came rushing back - causing him to stand to his feet and move towards the living room.
Shanea was lying on the couch - staring through the TV. She blinked once and then twice, lifting her head as Marshall's presence became apparent. She groaned and returned her attention to the muted television - blinking again.
"Can I sit down?"
He was asking permission to sit on his own fucking couch and the silent treatment was still going strong. Shanea stood up quickly and moved to the plush chair beside the couch - glaring at him for a moment before looking back at the TV. He could sit whenever the fuck he wanted - it was his house after all.
"Shanea, god damn - you want me to get on my knees and beg you to forgive me?"
"No."
Her voice broke the silence and he stared at her, narrowing his eyes. "I didn't mean to be an asshole - that fuck that touched you just got me pissed.."
"So you grab me? God, Em. You have no fucking idea what I went through all those years you were fucking groupies and making records. I worked my ass off nine to five just so Madi could have diapers and then come home to a piece of shit that slammed me around the room for hours until he passed out. You know, kind like yours and Kim's relationship?"
She bit her tongue, returning her eyes to the TV.
"Don't bring her into this." Marshall growled, "That's why me and her ain't together no more. Unlike you and your psycho ass boyfriend."
No. This wasn't going in the right direction at all. He watched as Shanea jumped to her feet again and moved towards Hailie's room. "I'm getting the fuck out of here, Marshall - fuck you." She growled, low in her throat. Before she could blink he was behind her, grabbing her wrist so she couldn't turn the bedroom door. "Don't.." He muttered, pulling her down the hall and to his bedroom.
"Get your fucking hands off me." Shanea growled, "I'm getting Madi and LEAVING this fucking place. I don't need you or your charity, Marshall."
"Listen to you! Fuck Shanea just fucking listen at you." He shut his bedroom door and pointed to the clock, "It's almost four in the morning - you ain't taken' Madi anywhere - we gotta work through this shit."
"I'm not working through nothing, Marshall. Get the fuck away from me."
He grabbed her around the waist and held her against his body, staring down into her eyes. She was pissing him off very badly now. "Stop fucking grabbing me!" She screamed, louder then either of them liked. Marshall let go of her but stood close - threatening her with his eyes as she moved towards the door but didn't open it.
"Why are you doing this?" She asked, her voice cracking with emotion. "Why are you putting me through this? It wasn't my fault Tony showed up - I don't know who the fuck told him we were seeing each other.."
They were seeing each other? When the fuck did that happen?
"Look at what he did to you.." Marshall whispered, touching her face - just above her neck. He sighed thankfully when she didn't flinch or jerk away from him. "Kim's fucked guys in my own bed before and I never laid a hand on her..." He continued. Even though he rapped about beating the fuck out of women he wasn't capable of doing that. It was a sissy act. "I'm sorry Shay.."
Marshall wrapped his arms around Shanea's shaking body, holding her close. "I was so fuckin' mad.. I didn't even realize.. I would never hurt you baby - I swear to god I will never hurt you.." Shanea closed her eyes and for the first time that night she cried, letting it all pour out.
~
Marshall opened his eyes slowly and reach across the bed - frowning once he realized he was alone. It was 8:46am. Pushing himself to his feet he walked down the hall wearing sweat pants and socks - checking in on Hailie and Madison. The two little girls were sleeping in Hailie's bed - the TV playing cartoons quietly. He continued down the hall and into the kitchen - looking for Shanea.
To his surprise freshly brewed coffee waited for him but still no sign of his girl. Gulping down the coffee Marshall returned to his quest, walking back to his bedroom and then to the bathroom door, grinning once he heard the water running in the shower. He cracked the door open and peeked inside - watching Shanea as she stood under the steady stream of water, oblivious to anything but the warm water.
Without invitation, Marshall slipped his pants and socks off and made his way across the room - locking the door behind him. Shanea turned around and gasped, holding her heart once she saw a very naked Marshall Mathers - looking at her with puppy dog eyes. "Room for two in there?" He wondered aloud, drawing a heart on the foggy glass door. She laughed and turned her back to him, closing her eyes once the water ran down face.
Marshall took that as a yes and opened the door, climbing into the shower behind her. He wrapped his arms around her stomach and pulled her into his embrace, placing a wet kiss on the bend of her shoulder. "You need more girly shampoo.." Shanea explained quietly, leaning into his chest. "You can buy whatever you want.." Marshall assured, running his hands down her soft skin - stopping just above her thighs. "I've got to go to the studio today.. take Hai and Madi shopping.." He continued, kissing her neck.
"You've obviously never went shopping with two kids under ten.." She whispered, loosing her concentration as his lips grazed her shoulder and his hands slid further down her body. "Spread your legs.." Marshall whispered in her ear, causing a soft moan to escape her lips. She did as told and felt his fingers slide into her - eyes closing, mouth opening slowly. "God, Em.."
Marshall turned her around quickly and crashed his lips against her own - gasping for breath as the water fell on their heads; tongues dancing together wildly - hands grabbing, wanting. Shanea slammed Marshall back against the shower wall and pressed her body into his - squealing quietly as he lifted her up by the thighs and held her just above his waiting dick. "You want.. this.. baby..?" He croaked, searching her face with his eyes - panting as she wrapped her hands around his neck and pushed herself down slowly.
Shanea sucked in a breath of air - never letting her eyes fall from Marshall's. Once she was completely impaled by him he turned around and placed her back gently on the wall - pushing into her further as he thrust inside of her. Fuck. Just a few hours earlier they were fighting - ready to rip each others heads off. Love was a funny thing. Marshall kissed her slowly, pulling out just enough to tease her - feeling the warm water pouring on his back as he thrust inside of her again - at a terribly slow pace.
"How do you want it, Shay.." His voice was dry and full of agony - he was 'so' close but needed to give her something more - make her feel it. "Harder.." She whispered, clutching his hair in her hands as he slammed his hips forward and caused her to cry out. "Like that, baby..?"
All she could do was nod.
"Fuck, Shay.. I'm so close.." They moved closer and to his surprise Shanea slid her hand down her chest and to her exposed clit, rubbing it slowly as he thrust into her - causing his own moan to surface and knees to go weak. She held on to him for dear life as her own orgasm shot through her body - causing every muscle in her to tighten. After one last thrust Marshall grunted and dug his fingers into her thighs - locking their eyes together in a passionate stare as waves of pleasure washed over him.
"Fuck, Shanea.. that was.. god damn.."
She nodded in agreement and kissed him quickly on the mouth.
