Chapter 3:
Three years ago…
You wait by the sidewalk to cross the street. The day is cold and windy and you can see there’s a storm building up.
The perfect day to be in bed… That’s just great… you think hating the fact that you have to go to work.
You look to your side and see a tall man standing beside you. He has dark, curly hair and his profile is strong and handsome.
You stare at him for a moment and he turns to look at you. You feel a rush of heat fill your body as his eyes meet yours. They are so green and bright and you feel like they are pulling you inside of them.
You just stay there looking at each other’s eyes until you notice people walking around you and realize the lights are green for you and you can cross.
You both start walking throwing quick, shy glances at each other.
You watch him as he stops in front of the bookstore and, still throwing glances at you, slowly walks inside.
Reaching the building where the perfume store is located, you quickly walk in and, instead of going to the staff room to change into your uniform, head towards the restroom.
You reach for the sink and let the water run, washing your face and your neck. It’s incredible how one look from that man had made you hot.
You stay there for a while and decide to just leave the store. You don’t care if this will get you fired, you just have to see him again…
Hurriedly you make your way out of the building before one of your co-workers or the manager can see you and make your way to the bookstore.
You quickly check yourself in the little mirror you carry I your purse before stopping in front of the store window.
He is there flipping through the pages of a traveling book. Suddenly he looks your way.
You jump up and quickly turn away, hiding yourself behind the wall.
“Great! You’re just the best in making a fool of yourself.” You mumble. “Ok… just be cool… it’ll be alright.”
Taking a deep breath, you walk back to the store window only to find him on the other side right in front of you. He simply stands there staring at you. His eyes filled with such lust it frightens you.
Your face turns bright red and you look down at your feet. He smiles at you, not taking his eyes from your face.
Suddenly you find yourself sitting on the backseat of his car with him beside you as his driver takes the two of you somewhere. You don’t know where.
He doesn’t say a word for a long time during the ride.
At one point, he places his hand on the seat, right next to yours.
“What’s your name?” he asks and you immediately recognize a different accent. He’s not American…
