Part Three

Dear Mike,

Today's Valentines' Day. I brought you a box of those stupid candy hearts, but I know it doesn't matter. I wish you'd wake up. The doctor's say you won't get better, but I know you will. You're strong and you're stubborn and I know you'll wake up when you're ready.

Jenna's with Adie and Tre. I think they're coming by later.

It was weird to not wake up and have those stupid little hearts by the bed. I came over as soon as I showered and I brought roses. Blue ones because I know you hate red and pink would just be stupid. The nurses thought I was weird to bring you blue roses, but I know you'd think it was funny.

I have to stop talking in past tense. You're not fucking dead.

It's Valentines' Day. It's supposed to be happy. They have stupid hearts on the doors and

It's just fucking stupid, Mike. But at least I'm not sending this letter to a grave.

You're not going to die.

And I've got to stop writing or you won't be able to read this when you wake up.
