This is a work of fiction. I do not know Gerard Butler. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Three
For the next hour they made small talk and Milee hummed like always. When the cake timer went off she smiled and pulled the hot pans from the oven. Expertly she popped out the two rounds and picked up a bowl to mix the frosting in. Cream cheese and chocolate went in first. She cradled the bowl in the crook of her arm and mixed everything in, spreading a layer on one round, placing the other on top of it and then spreading another layer. Gerard just watched until she started tossing chunks of chocolate into the double boiler. She poured in some cream and stirred slowly humming along with Loreena McKennit. "You hum a lot don't you?" he asked. Milee looked up and blushed. "Yeah, I don't usually realize I'm doing it. I hear music and just start humming away." He propped his chin on his hand. "I didn't mean for you to stop, you have a lovely voice." She nodded. "Thanks, so do you." He raised his eyebrows in question. "Phantom of the Opera, seen it many it's my favorite Broadway play. Loved the movie." He smiled shyly. What a smile. "How many times is a many?"
Milee smiled, reaching over to pluck a few vanilla orchids from their stems before adding them into the chocolate mixture. "Seven altogether. The first time my parents took me to see the play was when I was five. Sarah Brightman played Christene. I absolutely fell in love with it then. They took me every year for my birthday until I turned thriteen. I've seen the old version of the movie three or four times and the new one five. What can I say, I'm addicted to the music." She wasn't about to tell him she'd become addicted to him as well. "But the movie isn't even out yet." he said with a puzzled frown. Milee grinned and swiped a fingerfull of chocolate he'd missed form the bowl. "There are some definate perks when one works for a producer and an agent."
Gerard like the way she tucked her hair behind her ears when she was embarrased. "That smells like heaven." He sighed. Milee grinned. "It tastes better." She turned off the heat and readied herself for the next step. "Can I help with something, I feel silly just sitting here watching you." he asked, and sounded genuine. "Umm, if you'll hold that gently..." She pointed to the round pan the cake was now sitting in, leaving a few centimeters of space inbetween the cake and the side of the pan. "With the hot mits, yeah..." She poured the melted chocolate over and around the cake, making a thin layer of chocolate around the cake. "Perfect, now it goes in the fridge and the outer layer of the hot chocolate will harden and make a shell."
