Chapter 3.
“I’m in love with you…” Toshiya looked at Die, too shocked to say anything. Die looked back at him, and with a sad smile, said, “Totchi, I’ve thought that it was better for you to know that as I’m your friend, and you are my best one, I don’t think it’s a good thing that there are some things hidden between us… that’s why I decided to tell you…But please still be my friend, will you?” Toshiya remained in silence for some seconds, then he looked at his feet avoiding Die’s eyes.
“I don’t want to…” He started but before he could say anything more, Die replied, “Oh…I’m really a fool. Now I loose you too, why can’t I never shut my fucking mouth…” he turned and was about to open the door to leave, when he felt a pair of arms hugging him from behind.
“Let me finish please…”
This time, it was Die’s turn to be shocked. “You don’t know how much I’ve waited for someone to say those words to me Dai-chan…I love you too, and I really thought that you have already noticed it…”
“You love me? Are you sure?” asked Die in disbelief.
“I never say I love you to a person that I don’t love, you know? Even if many…well everybody thinks that I’m a slut, I’m not! I have fallen in love only once, well twice with you…But this is the first time that I say it…”
“You’re not kidding me, are you?”
“I’m not…I’m saying the truth…And you’re not my friend, you’re my best friend…it’s different…”
“I love you…” repeated Die. Toshiya smiled again.
“It feels so right having someone tell you that…”
“I’ll repeat every hours, every minutes, every second Totchi!” Toshiya smiled feeling tears of joy at the corner of his eyes. Die wiped them away and kissed him gently on the lips.Not a demanding kiss, though. Well at first anyways, but then Die pressed his lips on Toshiya’s again, deepening the kiss after some seconds. They parted after a bit, remaining forehead against forehead, a sweet smile on both the pair of lips. Die held Toshiya’s hand and said, “Let’s go, ne?”
Toshiya nodded silently, thinking about something else. ‘It’s different, the kiss is so much different, why?’ “Ne Totchi, aren’t you hungry? Coz I’m starving ” Toshiya chuckled, and Die look at him with a raised an eyebrow.

“Sorry! I was just wondering when you’re not starving…That’s all…”

“Mou! I’m not always starving!!!”
“Yes you are!” replied Toshiya softly, still smiling.
“No!”
“Yes!”

“No!” This little battle went on until Die stopped it by saying,

“Ok, ok, I am, I don’t want to break up with you after only some minutes!”
They reached a little restaurant that Die knew very well because it’s the one of an old friend. They were given a separate room, where nobody can actually disturb them. They started eating in silence but then Toshiya asked,
“Ne Dai-chan…Can I ask you something?” Die nodded and waited for Toshiya to continue. “Why now?”
“Uh?”
“I mean…Why did you tell me now, when you realized that you love me…”
“Oh…Well I realized it something like a month ago…”
“Why now then?”
“Well…I was afraid that you loved someone else…and I prefer to wait…”
“A month?? You waited an entire month??”
“Mou, you didn’t tell me either!!” complained the red haired guitarist.
“Well, you know that I’m a shy person, and I prefer being told then tell the other my feelings…Come on Die…we are now boyfriends, you can trust me…and before being a couple we were best friends…Why?” Die look at the smiling man and sighed.

“How do you know? How can you always read my mind like that?”

“Coz I love you!” a simple answer to a difficult question. Die smiled back. (So many smiles in these parts!! I love Totchi’ smile! It’s so sweet! And Die’s one…it’s so perfect! ^o^)
“Ok…I kind of thought that you were in love with someone else…I thought that you were in love with Kyo…but after this morning I felt that maybe I have some chance…” Toshiya whispered a soft ‘baka’ but inside him he was thinking a different thing… ‘He knows me too much…’
“Now it’s me that has a question for you…” Die continued. “How about you live with me? I mean, you and Kyo surely can‘t stand each other now…so maybe it‘s better for both of you…well and me…”

“Well…I…ano…”

“It’s ok if you don’t want…it’s only that…now that I have you…well I wanna stay with you more and more…”
“I really liked to…Dai-chan…But …are you sure…that you won’t regret it?”
“Why are you insecure Totchi? We were best friends…as you said…and now we are boyfriends…Why should I regret it?”
“I don’t know…it’s why I’m asking…” Toshiya sighed…
“Totchi, I will not regret it! Trust me! I love you, I really do…” So Toshiya accepted to move to Die’s house. They reached Toshiya and Kyo’s apartment and Die said to Toshiya that he will talk with Kyo, while he packed his stuff.
“It doesn’t matter, he doesn’t care, help me instead…” Toshiya replied with a sad smile. They spent 2 hours packing all of Toshiya’s clothes and things. When they were about to leave Kyo appeared in the living, he saw Toshiya’s bags and asked,
“Are you leaving?”
“Yes.” an icy answer.

“Well, it would have been kind of you, to at least advise me, don’t you think? Even if you hate me, remember that you pay half of the bill. And as I have to pay all now some idea to this is the least, don’t you think?”

“I will pay half of the bill anyway, so don’t worry for that…And you don’t care anyway, so don’t bother me!” The bassist replied with an even more icy voice. Kyo turned whispering ‘fucking idiot’ to Toshiya. They left the house and in the car Die and Toshiya didn’t say a word.
“Totchi…”
“Yes?”
“You don’t want to tell me, do you?”
“No, I don’t want to…sorry…”
“Ok…” At the apartment, Die helped Toshiya with the luggage and after that they sat down on the couch.
“Want a beer?” Die asked. The pretty bassist nodded and Die stood up to get two of them. He gave one to Toshiya and sat down near him, staring at him. He could tell from a distance that Toshiya was nervous and uncomfortable.
“What are you afraid of, exactly?” He asked some minutes later. The bassist sighed softly.
“You know me too well, Die…I…I don’t want to hear that you regret…”
“Damn Toshiya, why should I?”
“I still don’t know!” replied the bassist.
“Why don’t you try to trust me a bit more? The only thing I regret is to not have said it to you before! But I’ll never regret having said that I love you, never! Understand?” Toshiya saw how much pain he had caused the other. He started crying softly muttering ‘gomen’. He felt so guilty for having hurt him. Die hugged him and asked.
“What have happen? Why are you so afraid of regrets?”
“I don’t want to hear that word again! They hurt, you don’t know how much!”
“Who said them? ”
“A…an ex-boyfriend…” Toshiya lied quickly, and started to breath again when he saw that Die believed it.
“Don’t worry Totchi, I’m not like your ex, I really do love you!” Toshiya hugged the guitarist back very tight and still with tears in his eyes as he thanked his boyfriend.
They fell asleep on the couch, Toshiya's head on Die's chest, and Die's hand in Toshiya's hair.
