“Hi,” Kelly said.
“Hey, look I’m..”
“Not here please can we go in?” Kelly asked.
“Yeah, sure,” Carrie said opening her door letting Kelly go first. Kelly set her purse down on the table and took off her jacket throwing it on the couch. Carrie put her keys and purse on the nightstand and hung her jacket up on a hanger.
“So..” Carrie started.
“So why did you act the way you did?”
“I, I don’t know,” Carrie said avoiding Kelly’s eye contact and walking over to the window and looking out at the coast. “Why did you say the things you said?”
“You can’t answer a question with a with question,” Kelly said.
“I didn’t I said I don’t know,” Carrie said.
“Damnit Carrie can you be serious for one second?” Kelly asked getting pissed.
“I am being serious,” Carrie said turning to face Kelly.
“So then answer my question!”
“I can’t!” Carrie said.
“Why?” Kelly asked her temper lowering.
“Because I don’t want to ruin our friendship and if I answer your question then our friendship will change and I don’t want that. I want to keep it. Kelly you’re my best friend,” Carrie said starting to cry.
“Hon, our friendship is strong it can withstand anything.”
“Yeah, I don’t think it can stand this.”
“Carrie, please,” Kelly said pleading then wiping away Carrie’s tears. Kelly took Carrie’s hand in hers, but Carrie pulled it away and again walked away from Kelly.
“Kelly, I want to tell you but I’m scared.”
“Scared of what?”
“Of everything. I’m scared of the way I feel, I’m scared of what people will think, I’m scared of my heartbreaking, I’m scared that you’ll walk away, I’m just scared,” Carrie said hanging her head.
“I’m not gonna walk away,” Kelly said lifting Carrie’s face so their eyes met.
“So you say now, but what if what I tell you freaks you out then what? You’re gonna leave,” Carrie said getting frustrated. “Why you couldn’t you just leave it alone?”
“Because I’m IN LOVE with you,” Kelly shouted Carrie looked up at her shocked. Kelly was shocked at herself. Carrie stood planted in her spot and Kelly began to pace. Carrie was speechless no words came out, but in her head she was jumping for joy. Kelly kept pacing waiting for Carrie to say something and when she didn’t Kelly started to walk over to the door so she could leave. *I have to get out of here before I make a bigger idiot out of myself* Kelly thought. Just as she put her hand on the doorknob Carrie stopped her putting her hand on Kelly’s shoulder.
“Wait, where are you going?”
“I’m leaving so whatever I just said forget about it.”
“But what if I don’t want to? Stay please.” Carrie said Kelly again had a shocked look on her face. Carrie moved closer and closer to Kelly until she couldn’t get any closer. Carrie caressed Kelly’s cheek their faces moved closer and closer until there was barely any room between their lips then for the first time their lips touched. Lips moved with each other. Both girls fighting for control Kelly winning in the end. Kelly’s tongue licked Carrie’s lips trying to gain entry. Carrie not fighting it at all granted entrance and tongues met. It was a slow passionate kiss. Every feeling that Kelly had for Carrie went into that kiss and every feeling that Carrie had for Kelly went into that kiss. Breaking the kiss and looking in Kelly’s eyes. Carrie put her forehead against Kelly’s, “Kelly?” Carrie whispered.
“Hmm?” Kelly said softly.
“Make love to me.” Carrie said caressing Kelly’s cheeks. Kelly leaned up and kissed Carrie’s lips. The kiss was sweet, gentle, and very passionate. This time Carrie’s tongue licked Kelly’s lips for entrance, Kelly granted it. Several minutes passed then Kelly broke the kiss and started kissing down from Carrie’s lips to her chin to her jaw line to her ear behind Carrie’s ear down to her neck, Carrie tilted her head so Kelly could have more access to her neck. As Kelly unzipped Carrie’s dress she kissed the back of Carrie’s neck and moved down. Moving back in front of Carrie, Kelly’s hands move from her waist up her sides to her shoulders then to her neck. Kelly leaned forward and kissed right above Carrie’s breast and traveled up to the middle of her neck she licked and sucked and Carrie tilted her head back so Kelly had all the access she wanted. “I love you,” was all she said. Carrie smiled at her and Kelly smiled right back. A piece of Kelly’s hair had fallen in her face and Carrie moved it behind her ear caressing her face.
“I love you, too.” Both girls were exhausted and they fell asleep in each other’s arms.
