Hello there! Hoped you enjoyed the last chapter... I know atleast one person who did lol... I know this is a far cry from the sweet and bashful Brandon that's usually written about but thats my point... This is a whole other side to him and of course he's my character, but he won't be all bad... you will see as the story progresses. You can find a more realistic Brandon on Blink and you miss a beat which I will update asap... Enjoy :)
Briana was shocked to say the least when after the incident, he'd come into the club almost everynight after that. He'd sit at the bar with a bigger man by his side. His bodyguard or driver she assumed. He'd watch her but never ask for a private dance. Not from her or any other girl for the matter, not even a table dance.
Fuck him. She thought. It was like he was lurking, subtlely. She would dance on stage and his gaze would always find hers. It was so distracting. It was like even though he wasn't directly in front of her, she was still dancing for him. It ticked her off to no end. She wished she could tell her boss to kick him out but he wouldn't do it unless he did something to her... and he never did anything.
The handsome man was an ideal customer. He was polite and never caused any sort of uproar. He drank the top shelf liquors and smoked an occasional cigarette, silently watching, admiring from the sidelines. Briana knew why he kept coming around. He was there for her... And he would eventually want to speak to her... Maybe even more than that. She tryed to appear uninterested but she was secretly dying to have him talk to her. She still didn't like him, but something about the man stirred something up inside of her. She found herself more and more willing to find out what that was. He would have to approach her of course. He didn't for the longest time... But then, he did.
Briana was feeling slightly under the weather. Her head was throbbing and the last thing she wanted to do was be at work, it just wasn't a good night. Her boss, Dave, told her to head home and rest. She was thankful he noticed she wasn't her usual self and she slipped out the back exit. She was going to call a taxi and get picked up about a block away from the club. Kimberly insisted Bri should take the car and she'd call a cab after she got out, but Bri knew she'd get out late and knew it'd be safer if kim had the car. It was still early, around 12am, so she began to walk to a diner close by.
She walked slowly, feeling a little dizzy when she felt a finger tap her shoulder. She turned around and was surprised to see the handsome man's bodyguard standing in front of her. Feeling that slight ache again, she held her head and groaned " Can I help you with something ? "
He pointed to the large black SUV and said " He would like a word with you ? Please ? "
Seriously? She figured there would be someone at his beck and call like that. Well, she wouldn't be one of them. " Sorry, " She shrugged. " I'm going home. " Bri turned and began to walk off when he asked again. " Please Miss ? " When she heard his pleading tone she could tell he'd probably lose his job over this. The asshole would fire him for not getting him what he wanted... Her.
" Shit. " She cursed quietly, following him back to the car. The large man opened the door for her and she climbed in. There he sat, giving her that stare and tapping his hands lightly on his thighs. It was more like a limo inside... The driver seat was seperated by a dark window and the seats were around the sides.
" Nice to see you again " He said as she sat don't across from him.
" What do you want? " She asked, holding her head.
" What's wrong ? " He questioned, taking notice of her sickly demeanor.
" I have a headache. "
" Would you like an aspirin ? "
" No. " she said curtly. " What do you want ? "
He didn't answer but stared at her intently, his eyebrow raised. Bri mimicked him, exaggeratedly. He chuckled and looked away.
She needed some answers. She wasn't in the mood to play games. She asked again slowly " What... Do... You... Want ? "
" Can I offer you a ride home ? " He asked.
She looked around the car, the nice interior, the smell of leather. It reminded her of the smell of the car that use to drive her to school every morning. Bri smiled internally. Why not ? He was offering. Though she was always warned not to get into cars with strangers. Was he a stranger ? Not quite...
" Sure. " She replied.
He looked over to the slightly opened window and nodded. The car began to move and the window closed, leaving them to there lonesome. Deja Vu...
" I live on- "
" I know where you live. " He said casually.
She didn't know whether to scream or to laugh. " Really ? "
He simply nodded.
" Is there a reason for that ? "
" No. " He smiled.
Briana rolled her eyes and looked down at her hands. He was a weirdo. She came to that much of a conclusion. He was downright bizzare and she couldn't figure him out. She told herself she didn't care. She didn't need to know anything else about him.
" By the way, " He said, leaning over and extending his hand. " I'm Brandon, " He grinned. " Brandon Boyd. "
Brandon, Brandon Boyd... She stared at his hand. His thumb nail looked like it had some paint on it but the rest seemed pretty clean. His fingers were long and slender. His ring finger didn't have a ring, like the usual rich guys who came in. It was a good hand. Nice. Big.
She shook it and said " Bri dina. "
" Yeah, I know your name, Briana. "
" Is there anything you don't know ? "
" Sure. " He smirked.
He was so smug she could barely stand it. " Okay, so what is it that you want ? "
He leaned against the seat and seemed to relax. He smiled softly " I just thought you'd like a ride home. "
Briana sighed. He was keeping something from her. She just knew it. Did he think she was stupid ? He probably did. Just another dumb little girl to fuck with. She was regretting ever getting in the car in the first place. He was playing mind games, she was certain of it. If thats what he wanted then she could play too. She decided to mess with him.
She moved from her seat across him to sit close beside him. She leaned in closer and he turned his face to look at her with interested eyes. " You wanna fuck me, dont you ? " She asked. " Thats what this is all about ? " She held his gaze. Briana wasn't going to back down.
He smiled slightly " No, I don't suppose that's what i'd call it. "
" Oh ? " She gasped in mock surprise. " What would you call it then ? Making Love ? "
He grinned, shaking his head.
" Boning ? Screwing ? " She pushed.
" You've got a filthy little mouth, did you know that ? " He asked, tilting his head slightly and raising his brow.
" Some days, sure. "
" Were you raised in Trailer park ? "
" No, " She scoffed. " You'd be surprised. "
They sat there staring at eachtother combatively. He liked control but so did she. He could see that. He asked " Why are you a stripper, Briana ? "
" Pays my bills. " She said simply.
He shook his head. " That's not the only reason why you're a stripper. "
Briana was amused. " It's not ? "
Brandon leaned in so close that their noses almost grazed. His breath smelled of cinnamon. " No, you're a stripper because you like to manipulate men. "
Manipulate men ? He had no idea what he was talking about ? Briana knew that the main reason she started stripping was because of necessasity... At first atleast. " That's not true. " she said defensively.
He nodded. " The night we met. The night you danced for me, you wanted to manipulate me. Control me. "
She pulled back. " You're the one who wanted to control me. I don't do that with everyone, "
Brandon noticed the young woman had moved slightly away. He grabbed her arm and pulled her back close to him, holding her in place. " You don't do it with everyone because it's not necessary for you. you can get most of those ignorant fool's with a bat of those pretty little blue eyes. "
What a contemptible bastard... She'd had enough. " Let go of me, " She hissed.
He wouldn't. " You love having men wrapped around your finger, "
She sighed and decided to calm herself down. She wanted to take control of the situation some how. She wanted her arm back.
Briana placed her hand over his, gently easing back his fingers. He let go with a bit of hesitance.
" Look, " She started. " I don't know you and you don't know me, "
" Yet. " He smirked.
Ignoring his last comment, she went on " So you have no right to ask me those sort of questions. "
Brandon nodded, eyeing her up and down then taking her arm and pulling her close once more. Briana didn't fight him. She actually slid closer, liking the contact and remembering how close she was to him that night in the private room.
He smiled, showing his teeth. God, he was gorgeous. He said " But you know exactly what i'm talking about. You get off knowing that you could have these men drooling over you, groveling at your feet, and they can't touch you or ever really have you. You use your sexuality as a weapon. You flaunt it like a badge. "
Briana supposed he could put it that way. She rolled her eyes.
" Am I right ? " He smirked.
So what ? In all seriousness, why the hell did he care so much ? What did it matter ? Right or wrong ? He wasn't her keeper... Yet. His voice said in her mind. She shook the thought and looked away from him and out the window. They were almost by her place. He released her arm gently and for some strange reason she missed the feeling.
" You don't like me very much, do you ? " He asked.
She looked at him again. " No, not really. "
Brandon chuckled " Why ? "
Why ? Oh, let's see... You're crazy! You scare me! You see right through me. Briana wasn't really scared of him, but afraid of what might happen if Brandon ever got her under his thumb. She hadn't felt like that since before she left the city and her parents behind. She detested the feeling. She came to L.A. with big dreams that came crashing down. Dated some jerk who popped her cherry and had a few meaningless flings after that. She didn't need to be with anyone or longed for some male's attention. She was safe. They couldn't have her. They couldn't hurt her. So what was wrong with getting her kicks from having the upperhand to some sleezy assholes ?
The car came to a stop and Briana was thankful. She wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. Just as she reached for the door handle, Brandon grabbed her and pulled her back in. " You feel it, don't you ? " He asked.
" Feel what ? " She faced him.
" There's a chemistry here and I know you feel it, " He ran a tender hand through her loose hair and held her gaze. " We'd have so much fun together, Briana. I know what you need. And when you open up, I promise you'll see what I mean. "
Briana didn't know what to say. He was crazy, that much she wanted to but he was right. There was something undeniable between them. She could tell he knew what she needed before even she could. The pure carnal energy was there. They knew you didn't get that instantly with alot of people, you're lucky if you get it at all.
" You're insane. " She stated.
He nodded. " And you're just like me. "
Once again, he was probably right but she didn't care. She sighed, opening the door and getting out just as he said " I would really like it if you came to my house for dinner. "
She tried to shut the door on his invitation. She wanted to put an end to there impending tryst or any lascivious acts he had in mind. She wanted to run and try to forget about his crazy ass. She wanted to forget his soft voice and beautiful face by shutting the door on it... But he held it open, awaiting her answer.
Briana shook her head. " I don't think so, "
" Tomorrow night, " He continued.
" I work tomorrow night. "
" I've already spoken with Dave, " He smiled. " He's giving you the night off. "
She couldn't believe his persistence. Briana leaned into him so they were face to face. " Let me tell you something, Brandon. I can't be bought. Not by your money, or your looks, or your fancy car. It's trivial. I'm not easily impressed, okay ? "
Brandon watched her for a moment, then smirked. " I'll have Jerry pick you up about eight, " He sized up her the t-shirt and jeans. " And wear something nice. "
Briana laughed sarcastically and finally shut the door. Asshole She started to walk towards her apartment complex when he called out to her from the window. " Oh, Briana, "
She sighed then groaned loudly. " What !? "
" Oh, nothing. I just wanted one more glance at that beautiful face. I'll see you tomorrow. " And with that the car pulled away.
Briana nearly screamed until she noticed her headache had vanished.
