The car stopped in front of a large apartment building and the driver, an employee of Papa’s who Papa called while I was asleep and said that they were my driver/bodyguard/translater/whatever else I might need him for, let me out before he grabbed two of my bags, I already had one of them. I smiled at him thinking how I was so NOT going to need him as a translator and probably not for anything else after I got used to the city. My other two security people would switch off in shifts with this one. He led me inside and to the front desk where I talked to the landlord sitting there and he nodded.
“I have been expecting you. Here is your key, you access code to the building, it is locked unless we are expecting someone like you who is new to the building, each apartment has a speaker to outside and a call button to unlock the door for friends or deliveries.” “Cool, are we aloud to pain and decorate the apartments as we wish?” “Yes, but no dark colored all over paint on the walls, ceilings or other places. You may use dark colored paint for detailing. You can also change the floors as you choose, as for hanging things, I don’t care.” I nodded and He led us to the elevator and up to the 59th floor, one below the top floor. He lead us to one of the two doors on the floor, the left hand side, and then left. I put my key in the door and turned it. I walked in with my guard person and closed the door. The lights were on and there was a noice in the kitchen. “HELLO?!” I called and I heard something drop. “CRAP! Coming!” A moment later a very attractive boy about my age walked into the entryway covered in, well I don’t know what but it looked like the kitchen attacked him. I smiled and tried not to laugh. “Is it obvious I don’t belong in a kitchen?” “A little. Don’t worry, I’m a great cook, you won’t starve, but if you want Japanese food we’ll have to order in until I learn how to cook it.” “Deal, I’m Kamenashi Yuya, nice to meet you.” “Cool, I’m Nakamura Arashi. But call me Arashi, I’m from America so it would be an insult to me to call me by my last name since we are the same age. And I don’t want to hear my last name and look for Papa.” He laughed and I smiled, he had a nice laugh. “Alright, but I want you to call me Yuya then, there is no sense in roommates not using friendly talk with each other.” “Cool, oh, this is ummm, I don’t remember. SORRY!” I looked at my guard and he smiled at me. “Kauru miss.” “Kauru, there are two more of him, Papa’s orders.” “He told me, so let’s get you settled.” I nodded and followed him to a bedroom, it was absolutely Spartin. I looked around and set my bags down on the king sized bed. “This will need some help.” I looked at the beige walls and the cream carpet. “You can fix it however you like. Tomorrow however we are going shopping to get you some cloths for work.” “Cool, I hate shopping but if it’s for work I’ll suck it up. So what is my job, Papa didn’t tell me he said you would explain and show me the ropes.” Yuya nodded and we walked into the kitchen and I hear the horror movie sound in my head as I looked around. “You are banned from cooking anything but instant food in the microwave.” I told Yuya and I started to clean up so I could cook. “That bad?” he asked looking sheepish. “Worse than I feared.” I told him with a kind smile and he smiled back, he had a nice smile. “So anyway, work. Work is a host and hostess club. Hosts upstairs, hostesses down. I’m a host and you will be a hostess. I have to train you for a week before you can come to work.” “Cool.” “What, now comments about hostesses being prostitutes?” “But they aren’t, they provide their company not their pussy to their customers, it’s more like modern geisha than hookers.” He looked at me for a second. “You are already ready for work; you just need to learn the basics.” I smiled at him and washed his disaster out of the skillet. “Cool. So what do you want for food?” “Why don’t you look in the fridge and the cabinets and decide what you can cook and we’ll get food tomorrow after we go get you work cloths. Also I have to pick a name for you for work. I’m Takashi at work, it’s so that people can’t find us as easily and stalk us outside of work.” “Smart.” “It is isn’t it.” I was digging around in the fridge pulling out different foods when I found some fish and pulled it out. “Salmon it is.” “You can make sushi?” “No, well, sort of. I can’t cut the fish quite right, but that’s not what I’m making. I’m going to cook this and that is what we’ll eat.” I turned on the oven and got out a glass bake pan some pepper and some lemon before I washed my hands and got to work preparing the food Yuya watching and explaining about work to me. “Take me out to the ball game, take me out to the croud! Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack, I don’t care if we ever get back. Cause it’s rute rute rute for the home team, if they don’t win it’s a SAAAAAME! Cause its ONE! TWO! THREE! STRIKES YOUR OUT! At the old BAAAAALL GAAAAAAMMME! Take me ou-“ I picked up my phone from where I had laied it and answered. “Hello?” “Hi sweetheart.” “Hey momma.” “How are you?” “I’m great, I’ve got a place to live and a job so you don’t have to worry about me.” “That’s great, where are you working?” “At a club.” I told her honestly. “As long as you’re safe and happy I don’t care. Take care sweet and when you change your number let me know.” “I will, I better let you go before HE finds out. Love you Momma.” “Love you too baby girl.” I ended the call and put my phone on the counter next to me just as the oven signal went off telling me that it was hot enough. I put the fish in and then started to cut the fruit I had found that needed used. “Miss your mom?” “Yeah, but I can’t do anything about it. My stepdad kicked me out of the house so I came here where ha can never get to me again.” Yuya nodded. “What was that song?” I smiled and looked at my phone. “That’s the song that they play at EVERY major and minor league baseball game in the United States.” “You like baseball?” “It’s my life! I always say if you tell me you hate baseball you can go away and never come back.” “I love baseball too, so does my older brother and some of his friends. We both used to play, I still play sometimes but he doesn’t have time to anymore.” I smiled and hugged him tightly. “OH! Sorry, that was weird. I’m a hugged, especially when I’m excited.” He laughed and then so did I. “It’s cool. Do you play?” “Every chance I get. I’m a pitcher, first, third, and short. I can play second but it’s NEVER one of my top choices and I really don’t like the outfield at all.” His smile grew in size. “I’m second, short, and catcher. My brother is second, short, pitcher and outfield.” “Nice, I miss playing a lot, I haven’t been able to for three years due to extenuating circumstances. But I watch my favorite team, every game, and I try to go to at least two every year.” “Same here. Who do you like?” “St. Louis Cardinals, from my home state!” “Cool!” We sat talking about baseball and the finer points of the game while dinner cooked and continued during dinner and added other subjects in to get to know each other better. Kauru had left right after I had started to cook telling me one of the others would be here in the morning for our shopping trip. When we were done eating I put the leftovers away and Yuya did the dishes. He helped me make my bed in blue sheets from his room I pulled my blanket onto my bed with my pillow and then set about organizing my room and putting away my cloths with Yuya’s help. “OH! Hey, just so you know, I, well. I don’t know how to put this but you don’t have to worry about living with me because well,” “You’re gay.” I stated simply a sweet smile on my face.” He smiled and visably relaxed. “How did you know?” “I’m really good at figuring things out about people after I spend a while with them. Do worry about it, you obviously haven’t fully come out yet, your secret is safe with me.” He smiled and hugged me. “Thank you Arashi.” “No prob, what are friends for.” We finished putting my stuff away and then decided it was time for bed and that we would leave in the morning at 9 to go shopping. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: Comment and let me know what you think! While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
