Chapter 3: Stronger Than Normal/Getting Tatted/A Surprise
Lynn stretched in Andy's bed as she felt the sunlight coming through the window. She reached over for Andy only to find an empty space. Opening her eyes she turned over and found a small piece of paper with something written on it.
"Went for a run, be back in 20. Make yourself at home :)"
She smiled at the note and stayed in bed for a few more minutes just taking in Andy's scent. She couldn't remember the last time she slept so peacefully. She got out of bed and went through her bag and found her shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrush, and toothpaste. She walked into the bathroom and turned on the light. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled.
She still had circles under her eyes but not as bad as they used to be. She started to look around the bathroom and couldn't help but think it was as if two guys lived here. It was simple enough. Two loofahs, two towels, two different types of 3 in 1 body washes.
She shook her head with a smile and started the water to take her shower. She walked out of the bathroom and opened the small closet next to it and grabbed a fresh towel. She hoped to have Andy to herself today. She just couldn't explain what she was feeling. These feelings were stronger than normal and it scared her. She was still kind of recovering from her break up as well. She really hoped this wasn't a rebound feeling.
That's the last thing she wanted; a rebound relationship. But right now she was having a really good time with Andy. Even if it was only a couple of weeks just texting and talking. But now, just being with her was even better.
She smiled as she closed the bathroom door and started to get ready to take her shower. Once she was in the shower she started to wonder about what Andy had planned for them for today.
*************************************************************
Andy ran up the stairs to her apartment. She put her hands on her head and started to pace back and forth in front of her door to calm down her breathing. Today she ran harder and farther than usual. This week was cardio week and next week she would be hitting the weights. If there's one thing she can count on it was her workouts. She stuck with them, ever since she wasn't able to make music she had to find something as an out.
So one day her friend and co work Trey decided to take her out of the house for a walk, and from there it just progress to having a workout routine every week. Today they ran at least five miles. They always started a little later on Wednesdays only because it was their full day off together.
Once she got her breathing down she sat down and started to stretch just as she heard some one rushing up the steps. She smiled as she saw Trey come up to the landing. The young man, with an average muscular build and blue eyes looked at her and shook his head.
He repeated Andy's moves and started to slowly pace with his hands on his head. Andy continued to stretch out her legs. He finally joined her on the landing, and chuckled.
"Okay what gives?" He asked as he took her arms and started to pull her forward.
"What are you talking about?" She asked trying to hide her smile, and then pulled him towards her.
"The last couple of weeks you have been beating me, which never happens. Also, today, you were at my door first, and you were running like you were in a hurry." He explained and then pulled her towards him.
"Fine, fine, if you must know," she looked behind her for a second then back at Trey, "Lynn Gunn is in my apartment right now!" she whispered. He dropped her arms and looked at her in shock. He stood up and then helped her up and they continued to do their stretches.
"You're kidding! THE Lynn Gunn?!"
She nodded, "The one and only."
"Well what the fuck are you doing out here with me?! Get in there!" He said and pushed her towards her apartment.
"I'll see you later," she said as she put her key in and walked into her apartment. She looked around for a few minutes and she heard the shower running. She smiled and looked at her watch. She still had some time to do a couple more stretches and push ups.
She put her earbuds back in and selected her workout playlist and fist pumped when she heard the start of a Breaking Benjamin song. She moved the coffee table over just a little bit and started some of her hamstring stretches.
Last night she slept so peacefully that she didn't want to get up. She woke up well rested and for a second she forgot who was in her bed with her. She smiled at the thought of last night and just having Lynn in her arms.
It felt as if Lynn was the missing puzzle piece she was missing this past year. She couldn't explain it but after meeting her and getting to know her. There was something about Lynn that she couldn't place.
Of course the last thing she wanted was a 'rebound relationship.' She was coming out of a five year relationship and her heart was torn into pieces. So of course she's scared of opening up again. Especially to someone that is pretty much famous. Also the age difference was another thing for Andy. She just turned 29 and Lynn is 23. That was another factor for Andy.
Plus how many relationships has Lynn been in? Lynn is still young and she's in a band that is doing extremely well. Maybe she still wants to explore what's out there.
Andy stood up and started shake her arms and legs out after her stretches. She stretched out her arms and then got on the floor and started to do her 25 push ups with her feet up on the couch. Would Lynn find some one while she was in Europe? Is getting in a relationship with a musician worth it? What about not being able to see each other months on end and her having to pick up and leave again?
All these thoughts were going through Andy's head while she was doing her push ups. Since she had her earbuds in she didn't hear the shower turn off, or the bathroom door open. She certainly didn't see Lynn standing there the bathroom door way with just a towel around her.
Lynn looked up and saw Andy doing push ups and she caught a breath in her throat. She could see the sweat glistening on her body and how the sleeveless gray shirt clung to her tone body and light tanned skin. The black basketball shorts were exposing the back of her legs a little and she could see the muscles. All of a sudden she felt as if she was having a hot flash and she didn't know why.
Andy stood up and started to stretch out her arms and shoulders. She rolled her head around to stretch out her neck. She shook out her stretched muscles and then moved the coffee back to where it was. She took her phone out of her pocket and looked down at it, not paying attention she started to walk towards her room.
Not noticing Lynn she walked into her room and unplugged her earbuds from her phone and took them out of her ears and tossed them on her night stand. She sighed, but then smiled when a TRAPT song began to play. She hummed along and put down her phone on her night stand and turned around to get clothes from her dresser.
It was then she finally noticed Lynn standing in her doorway with just a towel on and hair was still wet from the shower. She couldn't help but stare at the amazingly beautiful woman in front of her. She swallowed hard and tried to find the words to say. The two of them stood like that for what seemed like an eternity.
"I forgot you were here," Andy finally said. Lynn tried to not look hurt and Andy mentally smacked herself.
"I mean, I just haven't had some one spend the night with me since Nicole. I fell into a routine and I just wasn't expecting you that's all," she explained slowly walking up to Lynn.
"I'm sorry, I just meant that you surprised me is all," she took Lynn in her arms and she leaned in and closed her eyes taking in Andy's musky scent. She was still holding her towel up with both hands. Andy kissed the top of her head and pulled away gently, "I'll hop in the shower and then get dressed and we can get on with our day," she said with a smile.
Lynn nodded, "Sounds like a plan," she said and kissed her cheek.
**************************************************************************
"You guys have the most usual weather for October," Brian said he was walking on the sand with Alex, Brendan, Michael, and Ethan.
"Last year we had the hottest Christmas Eve ever recorded. It was 74 degrees that day," Ethan told him.
"Trust me dude, our worst month is November, shit ton of rain, and the annual nor' eastern. We get one every year and every year it's in November," Brendan said shaking his head.
"Jeez, never head of anything like that before," Alex said as they picked a spot on the beach.
"I need to ask you guys something," Ethan said as they were setting up their beach chairs.
"What's up man?" Alex asked as he sat down in his chair.
"Do you think Lynn really does have feelings for Andy or is this just like a bucket list for her to hit it and quit in for every city you go to?" He asked as he set up his beach chair. Brian and Alex looked at each other as if trying to find the words. Brian sat up in his chair, took off his sunglasses and looked at Ethan.
"If we're being honest, the last time Lynn has taken in an interest in someone was her ex girlfriend. But that relationship was hard for her and her ex."
"They're both in bands and they were always on the road. I mean, we started in small venues and now we're getting bigger. It was taking a toll on their relationship. So they ended it and Lynn was kind of closed off. We told her that she should get back out and have a fling in a city or something," Alex explained.
"But she threw herself into the music and we recorded our second album. Then, she met Andy and the last time we saw her like this was with her ex."
Ethan nodded trying to understand what they were saying, "I just don't want both of them to think that this a rebound thing. Because Andy's ex has this power over her. Trust me. It was hard to finally get her to stop answer to her every beck and call. It took about ten months. Then, she finally said 'fuck it' and actually started to live her life."
"It was Lynn's idea to come here and see Andy. Normally we would spend this time with our families in Boston. But Lynn really wanted to see Andy. She didn't do this with Alexa." Brian said.
"How old is Lynn anyway?" Brendan asked as he grabbed a beer from the cooler.
"23" both Alex and Brian answered. Ethan, Michael and Brendan looked at each other and it didn't go unnoticed by the other two.
"Why? What's wrong?" Alex asked looking at his three new friends.
Michael sighed, "Andy just turned 29."
Brian and Alex looked at each and sat back in their chairs and covered their faces with their hands.
"I was not expecting that," Alex said.
"I don't know about Lynn, but I already know that Andy has been thinking about that age gap for a while," Ethan said getting a beer out of the cooler.
"Well I guess they'll cross that bridge when it comes to it. But right now let's play some ball," Michael said as he tossed a football to Alex. He smiled and they all stood up and started to run and tossing the football around.
*********************************************************************
Andy and Lynn walked into a tattoo shop and Andy was greeted with hugs and smiles. She introduced Lynn to everyone and they all gave her a hug and welcomed her. Andy took her hand and started to talk to one of the tattoo artist that had tattoos all over his arms and neck. Lynn gave Andy a small squeeze of her hand and started to look around the shop.
One of the girls came up to her and smiled, "Thinking about getting one today?" the young girl asked.
Lynn smiled, "I'm not sure. I normally do the tattooing when I'm on the road. Sometimes it's hard to find a decent place to get a good tattoo."
The brunette nodded, "I know what you mean. But if you saw all of Andy's tattoos then you'd know she's been coming here since she was 18 . Sometimes just to come here and hang out when her friends were at work. She's been getting tattoos here since she was 19. Every single one was done by some one different here. She likes to compare," she said with a small chuckle.
Lynn looked over at Andy and the tattoo artist and it seems like they were going over a design. He shook Andy's hand and she came over to where they were with a big smile.
"I take it you're finally getting it done?" The brunette asked.
Andy nodded, "Yeah, it's been long overdue and I've been dying to get it."
The brunette smiled and patted Andy's arm, "About time, I'll go get a price for you," she said and started to walk away.
"Thanks Kim," she said as she watched her walk away. Then back at Lynn with a big smile still on her face.
"What are you getting?"
"Okay, I don't know if you're gonna find this geeky or not but I am a HUGE fan of the Assassin's Creed video games. I found this really cool design that I want tatted on the back of my right arm."
Lynn smiled, "How many do yo have?"
"This will be my fifth. I plan on getting five more to make it ten in the next few months. So that way before I turn 30 I have ten tattoos," She explained with a smile.
Lynn couldn't help but notice a sparkle in Andy's eyes when she was talking about getting the new tattoos. She watched as she started to look through some of the pictures from other tattoo artist and then it finally hit her.
Andy's age, she didn't know what to think. Yeah, she was only 23 but with Andy being 29, was a gap. Not too big of a gap but a gap. She's only been in one relationship, and she didn't know how many Andy has been in. Maybe this would be something they should talk about before they decide on what to do about their feelings.
The guy with the neck tattoos came out from the back of the shop with the design and walked up to Andy at the counter. Lynn watched as they were talking about some of the changes that were being made. Then Andy pointed over to her and the artist smiled and nodded.
Andy nodded and walked over to Lynn, "They don't normally let some one back there while some one is getting tattooed. But I told him that you're an aspiring tattoo artist and he also knows your from PVRIS. So you get to come to the back and watch me get tatted."
Lynn's eyes went wide and she jumped on Andy and wrapped her arms around her neck. Andy just smiled and wrapped her arms around the other's girls waist. They pulled apart and looked at each other. They seemed to keep having these unspoken moments that seem to last longer and longer every time it happens.
They both knew exactly what they wanted to do but they both also didn't want to make the first move. It was one of those unsure moments. Sure last night they both came really close to kissing each other but both times they were interrupted. Which for the both of them was a small relief again, because they both had the same feelings of this not wanted to be a rebound relationship.
They were brought of their moment when Andy heard her name being called. She looked up and the tattoo artist was smiling, "I'm ready for ya," he said and started to walk towards the back of the shop.
Andy took in a deep breath and took Lynn's hand and they started to follow the artist to his room in the back of the shop.
He was looking through a DVD binder case and smiled, "Should we put this on since you're getting it tatted?" He asked as he held up the "Assassin's Creed" DVD.
Andy chuckled, "Sure why the fuck not!" She said with excitement in her voice. She rolled up her sleeve and waited for him to tell her where to sit.
He laughed and turned on the TV and the DVD player. He put the DVD in and while the DVD was loading he started to set up the chair and the arm rest. He pulled up an extra chair for Lynn and she thanked him. As he was putting the stencil on the back of Andy's arm. He took a step back and shook his head.
"No, let me try something," he said and he wiped it off and then put it back on again but at a different angle. He smiled, "There we go," he said and started to get his ink together.
"I finally get to tat you Andy," he said with a with a small chuckle.
"Glad I could make your day Josh," she said with a small smile as she looked in the mirror and saw the stencil on her arm and it made her smile even more.
Once the DVD was loaded Josh hit "PLAY" on the remote and went back to setting up his tattoo gun. After testing it to make sure it worked he looked at Andy and smiled. He told her to lie down on her stomach on the chair and let her right arm dangle on the arm rest. She nodded and did as she was told and made sure she was able to see the TV.
She looked over at Lynn and the two smiled at each other. Lynn took her hand and Josh started his tattoo gun and started to tattoo the design.
***************************************
About half way through, Josh told Andy that he had to switch colors. She just nodded and took a deep breath. Lynn had both of her hands around Andy's and she would squeeze Lynn's hand every now and then because of the pain.
She took her other hand and started to gently rub the back of Andy's head letting her fingers run through the soft black hair. Andy closed her eyes as she felt the fingers gently rub her head. It was a comforting welcome and she turned her head and looked at the woman next to her and smiled.
"You doing okay?" She asked as she leaned forward a little. Andy just nodded as Josh fired up his tattoo gun again and started to shade in the red on the design.
Andy's face grimaced and she squeezed Lynn's hand. Andy forgot about the movie and tried to focus on her breathing.
"Worst spot ever!" She said as she put her face in the chair and grimaced again. Lynn was a little concerned but then she couldn't help but chuckle at the same time. Part of her wished she would have told her about getting tattooed on the back of the arm and how much it hurts. But then again, this was Andy's first time doing it and she wanted her to experience it for the first time.
"Can't wait to see the bruising on this," Andy said to Josh.
He just smiled, "It's not gonna be too bad, but you know to call just in case it last longer than usual."
Andy turned her attention back to the TV and started to watch the movie. Lynn was torn between watching the movie and watching Josh tattoo Andy. Also every now and then she would just watch Andy's facial expressions when she would turn her head her way.
"So what exactly is 'Assassin's Creed'?" Lynn asked. Josh stopped his tattoo gun and looked up at Lynn. Andy turned her head faster than anyone Lynn has ever seen. She looked at the two shocked expressions and let out a nervous chuckle.
"What?" she asked.
Andy looked at Josh who looked at her, "You explain it better," he said and he started his tattoo gun back up and went back to work. Andy turned her head and looked at Lynn.
"The basis of 'Assassin's Creed is that there's these Assassin's and they have the enemies called the Templars," Andy started to explain and she had Lynn's undivided attention.
"Both sides are trying to find these artifacts that were left by the "First Civilization" that 'came before.' These artifacts, when used properly, can be used for good which is what the Assassin's want. But the Templars want these artifacts to rid the world of 'Free Will.' They believe that if they can get rid of Free Will then the world would be a peaceful place."
Lynn nodded trying to understand what she just said, "Okay but why is this going back and forth between the past and the present?" She asked pointing at the TV.
Andy smiled, "Well, in the video games and the movie there's this company called Abstergo which is run by the Templars. They believe that if we dig into our DNA memory we can remember our past lives and we're able to see just who our ancestors were. Also, it's their way of trying to find The Apple of Eden, which is the one of the artifacts.
Anyway there's this machine called the Animus and that's what digs into the DNA. There's also this thing called the 'Bleeding Effect' which causes the person to see ghost of the past, but also the person that is plugged into the Animus inherits the abilities of their ancestor."
Lynn leaned in, "You know a lot about this don't you," she said.
Andy smiled and nodded, "I could tell you whole lot more," she said with a chuckle.
"Oh trust me she can," Josh said looking up at Lynn.
"And not just about this, but about Harry Potter, Banshee, Game of Thrones, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Jessica Jones, DareDevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, Doctor Who, and many, many more. Surprised she hasn't gotten those logos tatted yet," he said with a small laugh.
Lynn looked at Andy with a slightly widen eyes and a smile, "Are you serious?" she asked and gently squeezed Andy's hand. The other woman was trying to hide her blushing face. She couldn't believe Josh just let out every little geeky thing about her. She looked over at Josh and gave him a look as if to say, "Shut up!" Josh just smirked at her and continued to tattoo Andy.
"Andy here is into a lot of stuff like that. Although there is some stuff out there that she's not a fan of and everyone else is," he explained.
"Oh really like what?" She looked up at Josh waiting to hear his answer.
"Orange Is The New Black, American Horror Story, Supernatural -"
"No, no, no, I just got back into Supernatural. I just didn't watch it because of that fucking clown episode," Andy explained.
Josh shook his head and started to change the ink color again, "Alright almost done. Just gotta do some white highlights on the feathers and we're done."
"Oh thank God!" Andy said as she turned her attention back to the TV. Lynn's hand started to slowly rub Andy's back and Josh couldn't help but notice the interaction between the two women. He hid his knowing smile a few times and he hoped what he was thinking would happen between the two.
He could feel something coming off of them. Their energies were off the charts, even for him. He didn't get this feeling when Andy would be here with Nicole. Or any other girl that she had dated. This was some thing truly new and he hoped that these two get together.
"And we're done," he said as he put the tattoo gun down and started to clean up the freshly made tattoo. Andy let out a long breath and felt the solution being gently poured on the tattoo. That feeling was the best feeling for her after getting stuck with a needle over and over again.
"Go ahead and stand up and I'll take a picture and you can check it out for yourself," he said as he tossed the paper towels into the trash.
Andy stood up and started to shake her arm out, "Man, it didn't fall asleep but it felt like it did," she said as she started to gently shake her arm out.
"Alright just stand right there and I'll take a quick picture," he grabbed his camera and turned on his overhead lamp to get the lighting right. He adjusted Andy's arm and then her stance a few times and then he took a couple of pictures.
He showed her the picture of her new tattoo and she smiled, "Take a look in the mirror," he said and she walked over to it and looked at the reflection.
"I love how you blended the red and the black at the top. The feathers look amazing!" she said admiring the new tattoo.
She moved back over to him and he started to wrap up her brand new tattoo so that it wouldn't come into contact with anything for about an hour or so. She thanked him and then, she reached into her pocket and got her wallet out and gave him some cash.
"Thanks, come on I'll take you back out and Kim will check you out." With her sleeve still rolled up and reached out her hand for Lynn to take. She took her hand and they walked out of the room and back up to the front.
"Okay, let's see it," Kim said. Andy carefully took off the protective cover to show her.
"Wow, that's really good! Good job Josh!"
Andy laughed as she wrapped it back up with the help of Lynn. Josh shrugged and smirked, "Yeah well ya know how I do," he said and dusted off his shoulders. Andy shook her head and pulled out her wallet for the second time and gave Kim her card.
"Did you tip cash like always?" Kim ask before she ran Andy's card through the machine.
"Of course I did," Andy said and just then her phone started to ring. She looked confused as she reached into her back pocket and pulled out her phone. Not seeing who it was she hit "Decline" she didn't want to be rude while Kim was running her card.
She would call who ever that was back. If it was important they would either call again or send her a text. Just as Kim was giving her the card back and a pen for her to sign the receipt, her phone started to ring again.
Andy shook her head and quickly signed the receipt and gave the pen and the now signed receipt back to Kim. "I'm sorry, I gotta take this," she said as she let go of Lynn's hand and started to walk towards the sitting area.
"Hello?"
"Hey Andy, it's Clint. Could you come in for about an hour? We had a big lunch rush and we're low on some dough. We just need a couple of batches and you're the fastest one."
Andy let out a long sigh and she knew Clint heard it too.
"I know, I know, I'm sorry, but I wouldn't do this if it wasn't important. I mean you don't have to wear your uniform if you don't want to. If you're close by. We just need some for tonight."
"What happened to Mark?"
"He broke his hand and he can't come in for a few weeks. I would ask anyone else but like I said you're the fastest person."
"You do realize you're kinda ruining the most incredible day of my life right now."
"I'm so sorry, I just need you for an hour."
She rubbed her hand on her forehead and closed her eyes and sighed, "You owe me," she said and hung up the phone.
She walked back over to Lynn, "I'm so sorry but that was work. They need me to come in for about an hour to make some pizza dough. I promise you I can get it done quick."
Andy could tell that she was disappointed and didn't want to show it, but she would make it up to her tonight at dinner and what she had planned for them.
"I can call the guys and see if the can meet us there so that way you won't be waiting for me," she suggested and Lynn just nodded.
Andy knew Lynn was hurt but she didn't know what else to do, this was a factor in her last relationship, her work always came first. It was a habit she was trying to break but she couldn't help it.
She tapped on Ethan's name and his phone started to ring. After about four rings he finally picked up.
"Hey best friend," he said in a cheerful voice.
"Hey bud, I got a favor to ask."
"Sure what is it?"
"Clint just called and I need to go in and make dough. I don't want Lynn waiting around on me. Is there any chance you and the guys could meet us at work and pick her up? Then, I'll meet you where ever you guys end up?"
"Yeah, that should be fine. We're actually coming back from the beach and it's on our way so it works out."
"You're the best, I'll see you guys soon."
"See ya."
They both hung up and Andy looked at Lynn with a small smile, "The guys are gonna meet us at my work so they can come get you. Again I'm so sorry but I'll make it up to you tonight at dinner, I promise," she said and kissed her forehead.
She closed her eyes at feel of Andy's lips against her forehead. She couldn't help but feel a slight warm feeling and her heart was going about a mile a minute. This never happened to her before and she wished she could explain it but she couldn't.
When Andy pulled away she felt a small feeling of disappointment but she knew they couldn't stay like that forever. Even if she wanted to. They left the tattoo shop hand in hand not saying a word to each other.
Clint would owe Andy big time for this.
****************************************************************************
"Okay she's on her way with Lynn," Ethan told Clint with a smile.
While the guys were at the beach hanging out after throwing the football around Michael's phone started to ring. He answered it and started to walk off.
The rest of the guys started to talk about music, girls, and movies just to past the time. Michael came back over and told them that Clint wanted to see them right away. With a confused look between the three co workers they shrugged and started to pack up their things.
When they got to the restaurant they walked in and Cody waved them to the party room. They made their way over to where every one else was and noticed that it was decorated with streamers and balloons.
Clint was coming down from a ladder as he saw them walk in. He smiled as he stepped off the ladder and looked around.
"What's all this?" Brendan asked.
"It's for Andy. Since we couldn't celebrate her birthday, because she was out of town and last year she was spending it at home because of her knee. So I figured why not have a little party here. I mean, we are her family." He explained as a Juliet a server with long blonde hair and hazel eyes walked into the room with a cake.
She was followed by a bigger guy carrying a tray of assorted fruit. Right behind him was an older women with dark long hair and she was carrying a tray of assorted vegetables.
Pretty much the tables were being filled up with food trays and dessert trays.
"What does Antony think about this?" Ethan asked.
"Oh he's all for it. I mean no body booked the room today and plus I think a proper celebration is long overdue." He said with a smile.
So now here they were waiting for Andy and Lynn to arrive. It didn't take long for them to get there. Clint made sure the lights were turned off and Cody the bigger and taller guy would lead them right to the back room.
Clint could see the two walk in and he signaled for everyone to be quiet. He went around the table and stood by Michael.
"Hey Cody," Andy said as they walked in.
Cody looked up and smiled, "Hey Andy, how are you doing sweetness?" He asked in a cheerful tone.
"I'm okay. Would be better if Clint hadn't called me in today." She said rolling her eyes.
"Yeah I heard about that. Well I guess he forgot to call you back."
She gave him a confused look, "What are you talking about?"
"Well, we don't need you to make dough. That was just a ploy to get you over here, because Antony wanted to talk to you about next year."
She nodded and looked at Lynn, then back at Cody, "I thought Antony normally had Wednesdays off anyway."
"Well, today he had some meetings and you know how he gets around this time of year. Always trying to expand and make plans for next year. But he's waiting for you in the party room. Come on," he said as he walked around the counter and the two women started to follow him.
Andy couldn't help but wonder why the room was dark. Normally, if Antony was here he would have the lights turned on. As they got closer she could see some sort of light coming from the room and she could also see silhouettes in the darkness.
She stopped and so did Lynn. Cody noticed and he turned around, "What's the matter sunshine?"
"This better not be a trick. Antony really wants to see me?"
"Yes, he really does, now come on," he said and he opened up the sliding doors to the room and hurried in.
Andy and Lynn slowly approached the room and once they got through the threshold everyone started to sing "Happy Birthday" really loud.
Andy shook her head and started to laugh, "You motherfuckers!" she said over their singing.
Everyone just laughed at her and once they were finished Juliet looked at her, "Make a wish."
She walked over to the table and looked around and then looked at Lynn.
"Did your wish from last time come true?" She asked.
Andy thought about it and looked around the room, then back at Lynn, "Almost," she whispered.
"I bet if you wish for it again it'll come true sooner," Lynn said as she gently took hold of her arm. Andy smiled and closed her eyes to silently make her wish.
She blew out the candles and everyone cheered. Clint turned on the lights and Andy started to thank and hug her co workers. When it came time for Clint she smiled and shook her head, "You fucking asshole," she said with a laugh as she hugged him.
He laughed and hugged her back, "Well I figured you had a crappy birthday last year, that this would make up for it," he told her a they pulled apart.
Lynn walked over to Brian and Alex and gave them both a hug.
"So how was last night?" Brian asked with a smirk and Lynn gave him a playful punch on his arm.
They laughed and then Alex piped up, "Seriously though, what happened after we left?"
Lynn looked over at Andy and she was showing all of her co workers and friends her new tattoo and she smiled at the thought of being in her arms last night. She looked around and found a small table and sat down in one of the chairs. Brian and Alex sat down across from her eagerly waiting for the details.
She smiled and tried to hide her blush as she was trying to find the words to say about last night.
"Did something happen?" Alex asked with a smirk
"You did it didn't you?" Brian asked leaning on the table.
Lynn chuckled and shook her head, "We just put on a movie and fell asleep. It was the most restful nights I've ever had. I can't explain it. At first we just lied there and I made the move to put her arm around me. The next thing I knew I was a sleep. I don't know how or why but I was asleep. I woke up and she was gone."
"Wait! She was gone?!" Brian asked almost a little too loudly.
"Shhhh! She left a note saying that she went on a run, so I took a shower and when I came out she was doing push ups."
"So she's in shape," Alex said still smirking.
"Shut up or I will punch you too," she said raising her fist and laughing at what he said.
"But yes she's in very, very, very, fit. After she was done she walked right passed me and went straight to her bedroom. Wait, let me finish," she said holding up her hands because her two friends were about to blurt out some things.
"She turned around and finally saw me and she told me that she forgot I was there, because she hasn't had anybody spend the night with her since Nicole. After, she took her shower, she got dressed, we went out to brunch, went to get her new tattoo and then, her phone rang, she answered it, and now here we are."
Brian and Alex looked at her as if she grew a new head. Her eyes were going back and forth between the two and she wanted to know what was going through their minds right this second.
"Sounds like you both had a good time," Alex finally said with a smile as he took a sip of his drink.
"Have you two discussed the age gap at all?" Brian asked and Lynn looked over at Andy again and she was talking to Clint as he was checking out her new tattoo. Again she couldn't help but smile. Hurt cheeks have been hurting the last couple of weeks because of her smiling so much.
"Did you two talk about your ages?" Brian asked again.
"Or your experience with relationships?" Alex piped in.
Lynn shook her head, "Every time I try something comes up. I'm hoping to tell her tonight. Since we leave for Europe day after tomorrow."
"How about you two? Did you have a blast today?" She asked her friends.
"Yeah we went to the beach, had some drinks, listened to music, tossed the football around and then came here." Brian told her.
Andy looked over at Lynn and saw that she was talking to Brian and Alex. She was happy that she was in her comfort zone. Something they both needed for the time being. She took a sip of her drink and turned when she felt a tap on her shoulder.
"Happy birthday best friend," Ethan said and gave her a hug.
"Thank you!' This looks amazing.
"You're welcome. Clint and Juliet put all this together," he said looking around and his eyes fell on Alex.
Andy looked at where her best friend was looking and shook her head, "You do know he's straight right?"
Ethan looked back at her and smirked, "Well for now," he said and walked away. Andy rolled her eyes and shook her head. Her co workers all started to come up to her and gave her a hug and said "Happy Birthday." She thanked all of them and couldn't believe they went through the trouble of doing this.
"SPEECH!" Clint yelled out. Everyone started to laugh and Andy shook her head.
"SPEECH!" Michael yelled and again Andy shook her head.
"SPEECH! SPEECH! SPEECH!" Everyone started to chant. And took another sip of her drink and shook her head. She looked over at Lynn and winked as she saw her and Alex, and Brian stand up to hear her speech.
Andy put up her arms and gestured for them to quiet down. Once everyone did she cleared her throat and looked around the room.
"Well I just want to say thank you to all of you for doing this for me. I am truly grateful. Also a HUGE thank you to PVRIS for coming all this way to come see me and Ethan."
"Any time," Brian said and everyone chuckled.
"Um, I've been with this company going on five years now, and I gotta say it's the best job I've ever had. I finally found a job where the management understands their employees and when something happens they try to fix it right away. I remember when I first started and I got hit with a bad spell of depression and Clint told me to calm down and take the day and to come in the next day.
So I did and I felt better. Then I cried in front of Antony and he told me that there were eighty employees here that think I'm fucking amazing. That day I found myself with a new tattoo. To be part of a company that truly cares about their employees is amazing and I'm so happy to be a part of it.
Y'all aren't just my co works, you're my family and I love each and every one of you. As for PVRIS," she looked over in their direction, "Your music helped me through a really dark time in my life. It was an awful year and you along with another band helped me get through all those times when I had bad thoughts. I truly thank you for everything. You've saved me life more than once and I consider y'all friends and hopefully soon we become better friends.
So to end this little speech I just want to say thank you all again, I love each and every one of you! Now come on, let's eat!" Everyone cheered and clapped and cheersed each other.
Lynn made her way over to Andy and wrapped her arms around her. Andy did the same and kissed her forehead, "I thought today was going to be ruined for a moment," she confessed in a soft voice.
"You and me both," Lynn said looking up at her. Again the unspoken moment that they always seem to keep having and always seems to keep lasting longer and longer. Both just didn't want to make the first move.
This exchange didn't go unnoticed by Alex and Ethan who were on the other side of the room as they watched the two just look at each other.
"Bet you ten bucks Lynn makes the first move," Alex said turning to Ethan.
"I'll bet you dinner Andy does," Ethan said holding out his hand for Alex to shake. He smirked and shook Ethan's hand.
"Doesn't look like we're going to dinner tonight," Andy said.
Lynn put a hand on her cheek and shook her head, "Hey it's okay, I'm here with you and that's all that matters." Andy smiled and kissed her forehead and pulled her close.
Today was truly another great day.
***************************************************************
Lynn and Andy were walking behind Ethan, Brian and Alex. Andy had her arm around Lynn while she had hers around her waist. Today the trio were leaving for Europe to finish their tour.
All day yesterday the two women just stayed in bed and watched movies and TV shows. For once there was a chance to be lazy for a day and that's all they needed. A day to just be lazy.
Lynn didn't want to leave Andy, but the timing couldn't be any worse than it already was. They just had to finish this leg of the tour and then they would be coming back home. Of course Andy already made plans to go to Boston to see Lynn when they came back from Europe. She already booked her flight, found a townhouse to rent for couple of weeks. Even put a reservation in for a car rental for when they would get there.
They reached the entrance to the TSA gate and Alex and Brian both hugged Ethan. Andy couldn't help but notice that Alex and Ethan's hug was a little longer than normal. But she kept her mouth shut. Ethan walked over to where Andy and Lynn were stand and gave Lynn a hug, "You stay safe now," he whispered in her ear and she just nodded.
Andy gave Brian and Alex a hug, "You guys be good." She told them and they both nodded.
"We'll bring you back something," Brian said as he picked up his carry on bag.
"I'll take a watch," Andy said with a smile. Alex waved at her and Ethan and he joined Brian in step and started to walk towards their gate.
Andy looked at Lynn and gave her a sad smile as she took her hand in hers and rested her forehead against hers.
"Let me know when you get there," Andy whispered and Lynn just nodded. The both of them didn't know why they were feeling this way. It was too soon for this, way too soon for this. But they couldn't help it.
Andy kissed the top of her forehead and wrapped her arms around her and held her close. Lynn didn't want to let go. They just wanted to stay like that forever. But they knew they had to let go of each other at some point.
They gently backed away from each other and Andy gave Lynn her carry on bag. "I'll see you in Boston," Andy said with a smile. Lynn returned the smile and left a linger kiss on her cheek. Andy closed her eyes as she felt Lynn's lips against her skin and she couldn't help but get a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
"I'll see you soon," Lynn whispered and turned away and started to walk to her gate. Andy watched her walk away and sighed. The last three days were amazing and she didn't want them to end. But she knew they had to.
Just as she was about to meet up with Ethan she heard her name being called. With a confused look she turned around and there was Lynn running towards her at full speed not stopping.
Once Lynn reached Andy she jumped on her wrapping her legs around her waist and her arms around her neck and their lips FINALLY met for the first time.
