A/N: Okay, so this is the last in the string of the chapters at the formal/benefit. Also there is a mention of a scene taken from Emo_Koala's fic based on Cat's story, so everyone should check out her story as well, it's full of great fun! So here's the new chapter! *hugs*

“Um, could you guys excuse me for a moment? I’ll be right back. Becca, could I get you to come and help with the dress?”
Rebecca gave Cat a confused look, but nodded and stood after they had all finished the last course of the meal. She walked with Cat to the bathroom, where Cat seemed to burst into tears. Luckily the hotel was swanky enough to have furniture in the bathrooms, so Rebecca led her friend over to the small chaise.
“Cat, what’s wrong?”
“It’s her. That bloody tart!”
Rebecca was more than a little confused, as she had been accustomed to Cat calling multiple people tarts, even on occasion being called one herself. She went and grabbed a few tissues and brought them back to her friend, sitting on the chaise beside her, wrapping an arm around Cat.
“What do you mean? I’m sorry, but I’m not catching what you’re talking about, Cat.”
“The bloody tart who won the contest. She was supposedly my friend at school. The one who lured me out onto the roof that night. Now do you see why I’m upset? She is crazy, Becca. And I don’t want to be anywhere near her. And I certainly don’t trust her around Andy. He’s too sweet for such a tart.”
Rebecca bit her bottom lip as Cat told her that the girl who had won the contest for a date with one of the boys had been the person who was the cause of Cat’s big injury that she still suffered with. Although she couldn’t help but giggle at her comments about wanting to keep Andy away from her. So it seemed that the evening out would turn into a double date after all. Because with what Cat had said, she was sure that Andy would want to have some reassurance with him. She had known as soon as he had asked her to go along with him that she would end up going, regardless of what they found about the girl.
“Shh, don’t worry about Andy. Besides, he made me promise that me and Patrick would make it a double date with him as soon as we got off the stage. I think she scared him too.”
Suddenly an idea came to her and she giggled, which caused Cat to glance up confusedly. Rebecca smirked and leaned closer, lowering her voice just in case anyone else happened across the restroom.
“I say we call an emergency meeting of our girlfriend’s club. A secret undercover mission to save our beloved Andy from some crazed fangirl. I don’t think you would have to do much convincing to get Ry to take you out. And just so happen by coincidence show up at the same place as Andy and the loony are, at just the same time. We could stake out the date, to make sure she doesn’t try and pull a fast one on him. That and he’ll have Patrick and me to watch after him.”
Rebecca could tell that Cat was enjoying the thought of such an outing. Not only would it save Andy from some half-crazed fangirl, but it would also give her a spot of revenge. She was already getting excited over the idea herself, as she considered Andy one of her best friends as he had always been one of the “brothers” that she adored.
“Right. Sounds like a good plot. Although now I’ve made a mess of myself over that bloody tart.”
“Oh pish, nothing a little warm water can’t fix. Although we have a habit of meeting like this in bathrooms, don’t we?”
Rebecca laughed as she managed to get a giggle from Cat at the memory of when she had first cornered Cat about her feelings for Ryan. They had both been to visit the boys in Vegas when Cat had endured a rather nasty car ride with the Wicked Bitch of the West (as they both called his girlfriend at the time) and Cat had collapsed into tears in the bathroom.
“So come on, let’s get you cleaned up that way you can go back out there and pretend you never knew her. Tomorrow we’ll call our special meeting and start Operation Tart Toaster.”
Rebecca giggled at the funny name she had randomly pulled from thin air and held her hand out to help Cat up. She stood by as Cat washed her face and turned back to her with a small smile. As they were leaving the restroom, she leaned over to whisper in Cat’s ear.
“At least you didn’t have to win a contest to get a man. ...... Tart Toaster.”
Rebecca giggled again at the silly name as she walked back out to the table with Cat, smiling as Ryan hopped up to make sure that Cat was alright. It was so adorable to see them together.
“Everything okay, Cat?”
“Yeah, just had to grab a run to the loo, and the bloody dress is near impossible to loosen by myself. So I had Becca come along. Besides, we had a spot of girl talk, nothing unusual, right?”
Rebecca giggled and shook her head, quickly mouthing “Tart Toaster” to Cat, knowing that this would probably be another of the many running jokes that they kept from the boys. She looked around the room to see that several couples had taken advantage of the string quartet for a dance, including Pete and Ivy, who looked to be rather deeply involved with each other.
“Care for a dance, milady?”
Rebecca turned her attention back to Patrick with a grin as he stood and held out his hand to her, in an overly dramatic motion. It was adorably cute, and made it even more impossible to resist. So she stood and lightly placed her hand in his and followed him out to the makeshift dancefloor, grinning as she saw Cat and Ryan already deep in their own conversation.
“Thank you for the flowers, Patrick. I’m glad that someone remembered to call you about the color of the dress.”
“You’re more than welcome, I told you that I would bring you flowers. And don’t worry, besides, I think it was really Pete’s idea to call Ivy about the dress. You really look gorgeous, you know.”
“Thank you. You’re pretty spiffy yourself.”
Rebecca laughed as they danced, shaking her head playfully at the peacock motion he did after her comment. She reached up and pulled the hat he had worn back a little so that she could see more of his eyes, which were now back behind the familiar glasses. She had often teased him about hiding his eyes behind whatever hat he was wearing that day, but she knew that he only did it out of habit from being as shy as he was, although he was opening up rather nicely.
“So, what was really wrong with Cat?”
“Just her back. Which reminds me, Andy cornered me backstage and asked if we would be willing to go with him on the evening out. I think the winner might have scared him. He actually begged me to say that we would go with him.”
“Wow, something must really be worrying Andy to do such a thing. He’s not normally as stand-offish. But if he really seemed to want us to go, I don’t mind. Another date with my lovely girlfriend.”
Rebecca giggled as the song ended and they went back to their table to sit as the speaker climbed up onto the stage to take his place at the podium that had been moved to the stage during the meal. Before the speaker began, she glanced over at Cat and mouthed across the table again, “Tart Toaster”, managing to stifle her own giggles with her hand.
