"So we're going out?" Kate questioned as Jason drove the five of them down a street just outside of Nashville.
"Yes," Kelly replied.
"To a gay bar?"
"Yes."
"With Carrie Underwood?"
"Yes."
"Damn, my life has changed so much in the past year," Kate shook her head.
Kelly laughed, placing her hand on her knee.
Kate smiled at her.
"So what's the deal anyway?" Jill asked from the front of the car. "I know Carrie sure as hell isn't gay."
"Yea, but her best friend from like way back is, and she goes out with him all the time, and she invited us to go with them," Kelly explained.
"It's gonna be so much fun," Jason rolled his eyes.
"Hey, nobody said you had to come," Kelly reminded.
"Yea, but he figures his chances of scoring with Carrie goes way up if he's the only straight guy in the building," Ashley replied from the other side of Kelly, making them giggle.
"Kelly, why are you friends with her?" Jason questioned, laughing when Ashley leaned forward, hitting him on the arm.
"Because she's crazy, so she fits in well," Kelly shrugged.
"And she's also squished," Ashley noted. "Whose idea was it to get a freaking rental car? Why not a rental SUV?"
"Jay's," Kelly replied, goosebumps rising as Kate's nails grazed up the inside of her arm.
"Of course...guys and their fast cars...why don't we just bring the range over to Nashville since you plan on setting up shop here, anyway?"
"We will," Kelly nodded.
"Good, because this backseat was not meant to handle three curvy girls...well, two and a half..."
"Hey, I'm curvy," Kate defended, her arm now wrapped around Kelly's, her fingers scratching her shoulder lightly.
"On top."
"I have a nice butt, thank you very much...tell her, Kelly."
Kelly laughed, "You have a very cute butt, yes."
"Cute, meaning small," Ashley nodded.
Kate narrowed her eyes.
"Don't worry," Kelly turned to her. "I happen to like your butt."
Kate smiled, "Thank you."
"And I happen to love the curves you do have," she lowered her voice. "Have I mentioned how incredibly sexy you look tonight?"
Kate could feel herself blushing.
"And besides having room to actually move, if we brought the range over, I wouldn't have to sit next these two while they grope each other," Ashley thought outloud.
"She's not groping me," Kelly quickly replied.
Kate squeezed her arm, pulling her closer, "Hey..."
Kelly turned back to her.
"You don't have to be so quick to defend me, you know. I mean, I find it incredibly charming, I do, but I can take a joke."
"I know..." she mumbled.
"I know you know," Kate laughed lightly. "You get a kick out of teasing me every chance you get. I'm just saying...I don't want everyone else thinking I can't, you know?"
Kelly nodded, "Sorry."
"It's ok," Kate smiled, kissing her cheek softly before resting her head on her shoulder. "Like I said, I find it incredibly charming. Who said chilvary is dead, right?"
Kelly laughed, squeezing her knee softly, making her giggle.

Kelly took Kate's hand as they walked through the parking lot, smiling when she noticed Carrie getting out the back of a car.
Carrie waved, walking over to them with a tall brunette guy that Kelly assumed to be Matt.
"Hey," Kelly smiled. "You look great."
"Sorry, girlie, you're not my type," Carrie grinned, giving her a hug.
Kelly laughed, "Someone started early."
"She's more fun with alcohol," Carrie's friend replied. "Trust me."
"Kelly, Matt...Matt, Kelly," Carrie introduced them quickly as her eyes locked on Kelly and Kate's hand before flicking up at the short Texan.
"Carrie, this is Kate, one of my backup singers," Kelly smiled. "And that's Jill, my other backup singer, and you've already met Ashley and Jason."
"Hey," Carrie gave them a wave before turning back to Kate. "So...you're Kate, huh?"
"Yep..." Kate nodded, giving Kelly a questioning glance.
Kelly shrugged.
"Ah...so you're the straight girl that Kelly's in love with," Matt nodded.
"Matt..." Carrie fussed, hitting his arm. "I told you that in confidence."
"Spell confidence," Matt replied quickly.
Carrie frowned.
Ashley laughed, putting an arm around Kelly, "I like them...this is gonna be fun."
Kelly turned to Kate as the others walked towards the club's entrance, noticing the look of confusion on her face, "I kinda told Carrie about you at the festival."
"Couldn't keep from talking about me, huh?" Kate smiled.
"I missed you," she replied simply. "You know that."
Kate felt herself melt, "So you're in love with me now, huh?"
"The 'l' word was never mentioned in that conversation," Kelly replied with a laugh as they started to follow the rest of the group.
Kate smiled, "I wanna have fun tonight."
"Well, my lady...your wish is my command," Kelly stepped aside, allowing Kate through the door first.
Kate giggled.
+++++++++++
"So how does it feel?" Kate asked curiously, as they stood along one of the walls, watching the rest of the group dancing in the middle of the floor.
"How does what feel?" Kelly turned to her.
"To be here? To not be hiding in some private section of the club all by yourself."
"I'm still kinda hiding," Kelly pointed out. "I'm here with Matt. I can't just hit on random girls...I'm still straight."
Kate nodded.
"Not that I'd want to hit on random girls," Kelly bumped her playfully.
Kate smiled.
"You know...Carrie can't dance."
"No, she can't," Kate laughed. "But I'll give her an A for effort. It looks like she's really trying hard."
Kelly looked at the empty glasses in their hands, "Come on. I'll get us another drink."
"Why, Miss Clarkson, are you trying to get me drunk?" Kate took her hand, following her to the bar.
"No," she smiled. "I'm just trying to help you, remember?"
"Help me?"
Kelly nodded, motioning to the bartender for two more drinks before turning to Kate, "The quickest way to stop second guessing yourself is to have a few beverages."
"Beverages?" Kate laughed softly.
"Yep," Kelly replied as the bartender placed two drinks before them as well as two shots.
"That's from the guy over there," the bartender pointed to Matt who was standing further down the bar, his arm around some blonde as he grinned at them.
"Now...I'm just trying to help," Kelly laughed. "But him...he's trying to get us drunk."
"But it would be rude to not accept it," Kate noted.
"Yep," Kelly agreed. "And my momma would chew me out if she ever found out I was rude, so...bottom's up."
Kate smiled as Kelly tapped their shot glasses together before they both downed it quickly.
Kelly made a face.
"What?" Kate asked curiously. "It wasn't nearly as bad as the stuff you normally have."
"It's tequila," Kelly pointed out.
"So?"
"Ashley had to have told him to get me that," she shook her head, laughing.
"Why? What's wrong with tequila?"
"Give me a couple more of shots like that, and you'll see."
"Hey," Kate motioned to the bartender.
"Kate..." Kelly laughed, pulling her arm down.
"What?" she grinned, taking a sip of her drink. "I wanna see."
"I believe they wrote a country song about it...they just didn't know it was me they were writing about."
"Bartender!" Kate called out loudly.
"Shh..." Kelly giggled, tugging on her shirt, pulling her down some. "You don't even know which song I'm talking about."
"Does it have to do with you and your clothes falling off?"
Kelly smiled.
"Two more of those, please," Kate pointed to the shot glasses as the bartender walked to them.
"You're horrible," Kelly laughed.
"Oh, please, you love buzzed me."
"Because you don't second guess yourself, yes."
"Here we go," Kate handed Kelly one of the shot glasses after they were refilled.
Kelly eyed it carefully.
"You said we'd have fun," Kate reminded with a grin.
Kelly looked up at her. She smirked softly, "Your wish is my command."
Kate giggled as they both downed their second shots.
++++++++++
"You know..." Kate turned her head thoughtfully as she leaned back against the bar next to Kelly, watching the people on the dance floor. "I've never danced with a girl."
"You haven't?" Kelly asked, a little surprised.
"No."
"Not even with just a friend?"
"Nope," she shook her head.
"I thought you went to college?"
"I did."
"Then what the hell did you do while you were over there?"
"I don't know," Kate laughed softly, nodding to one of the couples on the dance floor. "But definitely not that."
"I'm not sure if that's even legal to do in public," Kelly scrunched her nose.
"So..."
"So..."
"Am I gonna have to spell this out for you?"
Kelly laughed, "Kate?"
"Yes?"
"Do you wanna dance with me?"
"As a matter of fact, yes, yes I do," she nodded, taking Kelly's hand and halting her from walking to the dance floor.
"I thought you said you wanted to dance?"
"One thing first," she handed Kelly another shot, holding her own in her hand.
"You're wrong for this," Kelly nodded.
"What happened to my wish being your command?" Kate pouted.
Kelly bit her bottom lip before quickly downing the shot, "So, so wrong..."
Kate giggled, drinking her own before placing the two shot glasses back on the bar, "Let's go."
Kelly laughed, following her out to the dance floor, "You know you're gonna get me in trouble, right?"
"With who?" Kate asked, turning to face her.
"A sober you and me."
"A sober me would still want to dance with you," she smiled.
Kelly took a deep breath, "That smile is gonna be the end of me."
"Well, you better hurry up and dance with me before that happens."
Kelly smiled, reaching out and taking her other hand, her head nodding softly as she found the rhythm.
Kate watched Kelly's hips slowly starting to sway to the music. She felt Kelly tugging her closer.
"You can't dance with me standing that far away," she looked up at her with a smirk.
"Well how close do I need to be?" Kate asked playfully.
"How close do you want to be?"
Kate swallowed hard, taking another step closer, "Close enough?"
"For now," Kelly allowed, bringing Kate's hands up, placing them on her shoulders, letting them rest there as her own hands fell to the taller girl's waist.
"Looks like, I'm not the only one that stops second guessing myself when there's alcohol involved," Kate teased.
"I don't second guess myself in the first place," Kelly replied, feeling Kate's body falling into rhythm with her own.
"Yes, you do."
"No, I don't. I control myself, there's a difference."
Kate smiled.
"You've gotta stop smiling like that," Kelly shook her head.
"Or what?"
Kelly pulled her closer, "Keep doing it, and you'll find out."
+++++++++++
Kate moaned softly as they danced, their bodies flush against each other. She said a silent thank you to herself for remembering to wear flats instead of heels as she felt Kelly's lips graze her neck. She tilted her head up, allowing Kelly to nuzzle into her neck, her lips parting against her skin. "God..." she breathed heavily, her hand pressed against the Texan's lower back.
"Makes you wish you danced with a girl sooner," Kelly smiled against her skin.
"Makes me wish I danced with you sooner."
Kelly moved her leg that she had slid in between both of Kate's.
"Can't we go somewhere?"
"Go somewhere?"
"You're worried about people...can't we go somewhere where you don't have to worry?"
Kelly nodded, taking her hand and guiding her off the dance floor. She nodded to the bartender as they approached the bar. Taking one of the shots he had set out for them as she passed, giving the other to Kate. They both drank it, placing it back on the bar. Kelly squeezed Kate's hand, tugging her to the back of the club where she had noticed a security guard earlier.
"Can I help you?" he asked stiffly.
Kelly smiled, pulling out her i.d. and showing it to him.
He smiled.
"Is there anybody up there?" Kelly motioned to the stairs behind him, leading up to the VIP room.
"No ma'am," he shook his head.
Kelly pulled out a fifty dollar bill, handing it to him, "Keep it that way?"
"Yes ma'am," he nodded.
Kelly smiled, handing him another fifty before leading the way up the stairs. She held the door open for Kate, closing it behind them and locking it for good measure.
"Well, that was a pretty neat trick," Kate noted.
"You haven't seen anything, yet," Kelly shook her head, reaching out for her. She tugged her to her by her shirt, her lips immediately reattaching to her neck.
"Oh wow..." Kate's knees buckled.
Kelly sucked on the side of her neck, her tongue pressing against her skin.
Kate gripped the back of her shirt, holding her close, her head tilting as Kelly nibbled on the edge of her ear.
Kelly pulled back with a smirk.
Kate looked at her in confusion, her heart racing.
"You said you wanted to dance," Kelly reminded.
"Or that...what you were doing...that's fine too," she nodded.
Kelly smiled, pushing her gently.
Kate fell back onto a sofa.
Kelly grinned, look around the room. She found the remote control for the speakers, turning them louder, the music from the club pulsating throughout the room. She walked back to Kate slowly, noticing the other girl's eyes glued to her hips. "I like to dance..."
"You're very good at it," Kate nodded, reaching out and taking her hips in her hands.
"You think so?"
Kate nodded again as Kelly's hips started to sway in front of her.
"You like dancing with me?"
"Definitely..."
"Then why aren't you?"
"Because my legs can't seem to work."
Kelly laughed softly, placing a hand on Kate shoulder as she straddled her, "Well, I guess I'll just come down to your level, then."
"Are you gonna kiss me now?"
"Not yet," she shook her head, tracing a finger along the blonde's jaw.
"When?"
Kelly smiled, placing a soft kiss on Kate's chin, just below her bottom lip, "When I'm ready."
"I'm ready."
"You think so?" Kelly placed both her hands on the sofa behind her, leaning forward. "Question time..."
Kate smiled.
Kelly tilted her head down as she leaned forward even more, placing a slow kiss just behind Kate's jaw, before whispering in her ear, "What did I say about you and smiling?"
"Keep doing it if I want to feel good."
"I don't think that's what I said," Kelly laughed.
Kate squeezed her hips, her jaw falling open as Kelly pressed her tongue against her ear, "W-well, if that's the reaction it gets, then yea, me smiling means I'm gonna feel good."
Kelly pulled back, "You think about kissing girls?"
"Yes."
"How many girls?"
"Just one."
"Who?"
"You."
Kelly's heart pounded against her chest, "You realize we're drunk, right?"
"Yea."
"So the chances of you remembering this in the morning are very slim."
"Yea."
"So I can't kiss you right now."
Kate's face fell for a moment before her eyes lit up, "On the lips."
"On the lips," Kelly nodded.
"But other places..."
Kelly smiled, "Where?"
Kate tilted her head to the side, pointing to her neck.
"You like getting kissed right there?"
"When you do it, yea," she nodded.
Kelly leaned forward once more, pressing her lips against her neck before pulling back just a little, "Did anybody ever tell you how amazing your skin feels?"
"No," she shook her head.
"That's insane..." Kelly started to kiss along her neck. "Because it feels...so damn good..."
Kate moaned, her hands sliding down to Kelly's butt, pulling her closer.
"Watch those hands," Kelly warned playfully, nibbling on the side of her neck.
"They have a mind of their own," Kate replied, not moving them.
"Well...they're just lucky they feel good," Kelly's lips and tongue followed where her teeth had been.
"Yea?"
"Very good," she whispered hoaresly, tugging on her earlobe with her teeth.
Kate reached around to the pocket in the front of Kelly's black pants, pulling out her phone as it started to vibrate against her hip. Kelly's hip rolled against her hand, and her mind went blank. The phone started to vibrate again, reminding her of why her hand was there in the first place. She brought it up to her face so she could read the name, "It's Ashley."
"Don't answer it," Kelly replied, kissing behind her ear.
Kate nodded, pressing a button.
"Hello?" Ashley's voice questioned.
Kate furrowed her eyebrows.
"I told you not to answer it," Kelly laughed, continuing to kiss along her skin.
"I didn't mean to...There's too many buttons on this thing," Kate replied, bringing the phone to her ear. "Hello?"
"Kelly?"
"Nope."
"Kate?" Ashley questioned.
"Yep."
"Where's Kelly? We're about to head out."
"Kelly's busy right now...maybe you should call back in ten...no, make it fifteen minutes..."
"Kate," Ashley sighed. "Are you drunk?"
"Yes...yes, I am."
"Is Kelly drunk?"
"Yes..." she moaned softly. "Yes, she is."
"Kate..." Ashley began cautiously. "What is Kelly doing right now that she's busy?"
"Right now, she is doing this...amazing thing with her tongue and my ear...I've never had someone do that before. You should...you should let her do it to you. She's a pro..."
"Damn it," Ashley cursed. "Kate, put Kelly on the phone."
"But she's busy."
"I don't care if she's busy. Put her on the damn phone, right now, or I swear to you I will cut off her tongue and she'll never be able to do the thing to your ear ever again."
"Kelly," Kate poked her arm. "Ashley wants to talk to you."
"Tell her I'm busy," Kelly replied, kissing along her jaw line.
"I...I tried...she's not listening to me, and I like your tongue...very much," she purred as Kelly's tongue ran along her neck.
"Alright," Kelly took the phone from her, resting her forehead against her shoulder. "Hello?"
"Why are you out of breath?"
"Why do you think?"
"Are you having sex with her?" Ashley's voice rose.
"What? No, I'm not having sex with her."
"Then what the hell are you doing?"
"Charting newly discovered territory," she grinned as Kate giggled.
"Kelly, you're drunk, so get your lips and tongue away from that girl before you do something you'll regret."
"I doubt I'll regret this."
"Kelly," Ashley said sternly.
"Alright, alright. Fine..."
"Good, now come meet us in the front. We're ready to leave."
"Leave? Already?"
"It's two in the morning. The club is closing."
Kelly pulled away from her phone to be able to look at the time, "Wow. Ok. Didn't realize it was that late."
"Yea, well, you were kinda distracted by a tall blonde with a nice rack."
"Hey, don't talk about her like that," Kelly snapped into the phone. "Do you hear me? I don't care if I pissed you off or if you've been drinking, I don't wanna ever hear you say that again, got it?"
"Geeze, yes, I got it. It was just a joke."
"Yea, well, I didn't find it funny," Kelly felt herself relaxing as Kate started to rub her back.
"I'm sorry, but can y'all please come meet us so we can go? Jason's wasted, and Jill's crying so we're gonna ride with Carrie and Matt. She called her driver."
"Alright, we'll be there in a sec," Kelly nodded, hanging up the phone. She pulled back to look at Kate, unable to fight down a grin.
Kate mirrored it, "Were you defending my honor again?"
"Maybe..."
"Have I ever told you how incrediblly sexy that is?"
"I believe the word you used was charming."
"Well, I can't very well say it's sexy when I'm not drinking."
"Why not?"
She raised her hands, shrugging cutely.
Kelly laughed, "So did you have fun tonight?"
"Very much so, yes," she nodded. "But why are you asking me that now? There's still plenty of night left."
Kelly's blood rushed as she took her hand, unstraddling her, "Well, then I guess we better get back to the hotel."
"Sounds good to me," Kate agreed, letting her guide them out of the VIP room.
