I could use a glass of Whisky right about now but I guess the water will do. She's not saying much, she just smiles at me shyly then looks back down at her glass again. She's sipping it like she's drinking wine and not water, but I guess another night of drinking really wouldn't do her any good. I realise that I have spent so many hours just looking at her, studying her face. Her little movements, how she presses her lips together when she's thinking or how she opens and closes her mouth slightly just before she goes into a long rant. Yeah that makes me sound normal, It's not like I'm obsessed or anything, even though I secretly am.
'You need a girlfriend..........'I'm sorry what?.
'What?..........' I'm now confused.
'You look in pain...........'She explains to me as she takes another drink of her water.
'And a woman would help with that?..............' She shrugs and takes another drink. Is she really drinking water or is there Vodka in hers. 'Are you suggesting I need to get laid?...........'Yep that done it, she's spluttering her water all over herself.
'I did not say that...........I just meant that your missing romance in your life............'Now I'm spluttering.
'Romance?..........that's a great thought.....'I laugh.
'What... lesbians don't do romance?.........' OK now I'm really laughing and I really shouldn't, it's cruel.
'Well I'm sure we do........'I say trying to be serious. 'I guess I haven't met a woman I've wanted to be romantic with...........'Great now she's looking at me with that sad look on her face, like I've lost my puppy.
'That's so sad........'
'No........'I screw up my face. 'No really.... it's not.....in fact I'm really not the romantic type........' She's smirking at me again.
'I don't believe you.........' Oh stop smirking.
'I'm not asking you to..........'Act like you don't care Kelly, look away and pretend your wall is more interesting than she is.
'I think you want to have someone to be romantic with........'She's mocking me now. 'I think you want some hot woman to entertain you.............'Like a hooker?.
'Like a hooker?..........'Okay I really was just thinking that.
'Eww....no.......You need a nice girl.........' OK.
'OK......Maybe you should Help me find one...........' Or just admit that you want me. Yea that wasn't big headed Kelly.
'Maybe I should....................'
'What about you?........' Time to turn the tables I think.
'What about me?..........' I don't if I should push her, I pushed her before at the lake and she ran. I scared her.
'Do you like romance?..........' That seems like an innocent question.
'I do.......'she's smiling. 'I love nothing more than watching a romantic movie............'
'And are you romantic with anyone at the moment.........'Still innocent. Just making small chit chat.
'I can't say I am.........' She's looking away from me. I know what's coming, I've been paying attention. 'Can I tell you something.........'And there it is, another secret.
'Course you can.............' I lean back on the bed to make it look like I'm comfy and not scared completely by anything she has to confess. Unless it's her undying love for me. OK Kelly pay attention she's talking.
'Never been romanced before..........'
'What do you mean?..........' And can you repeat the first part for me again.
'Well see......' she's blushing. 'I've never really been in what you would call a romantic relationship..........' OK we are using the word romantic way to much.
'So you've only had non romantic relationships...............' Again with the blushing, you would think this girl... oh my god.
'I've never really had a relationship...........I don't really know what to do with men......'Oh my god she is innocent.
'I see..........'
'I think the Laura thing put me off a little............' Her little confession stuns me. I don't think I've see her so open before.
'I think it would.........' It's got suddenly serious with us and all I want to do is tell her the truth, I want to tell her how much I like her and would do anything just to take her out on one date. My god am I going soft.
'Anyway......'she shakes her head and lightens up. 'Too young for all that.........'I raise my eyebrow at her. 'That's what my dad says........'
'Ah........well your dads right.........you should be concentrating on your glamorous career...........'
'Of course ….........' She's playful again. I love this side of her. Easy Kelly don't be throwing around that word.
'Will you remember me when your big and famous...........' She pretends to think about it.
'Of course.........'Ah she's sweet. 'Until someone cool comes along ….then your gone.......' And very cruel.
'So your using me?...........'I act shocked but truthfully I'm beyond happy about our little teasing game.
'Sure......I don't know anyone in La yet............' I pretend to act shocked and hurt but she just laughs at me. I take another sip of my water and just watch her, it makes me want to do anything in my power to keep her smiling like she is right now.
