I've been holding this book n my hand for the last our, to afraid to open it. She gave me it to read, she wants me to read it but a big part of me thinks when I do I'll be even more confused that I am now. My finger tips goes in circles around the cover the bright pink writing neatly scribbled over it. There's a little I heart Nick in the corner that makes me laugh considering what I know I'm about to read in it. OK I can't be a wimp about this. We all know I'm going to read it, may as well start now.
1st January 1999
Well can I say how boring my parents new year party was last night, I mean there wasn't even any cute boys there...............
OK still into guys, I don't need to read that. Time to flip.
21st January
Laura's still dating James Evans older brother Sonny. I mean who kind of name is Sonny anyway. She's going to get in so much trouble when her mom finds out she's dating a 20 year old. James is still trying to kiss me, I mean I've told him I didn't like him that way but he told me I'm just playing hard to get. I don't think I am. Can't I just not be interested in him. Laura says I'm never interested in any the guys at school. She thinks I don't like any guys, I told her I like Nick but she says a Backstreet Boy doesn't count. I think it does, I mean he is a guy isn't he?.
I'm trying so hard not to laugh. This Carrie seems so different from my Carrie. Easy Kelly. Carrie and Laura seem so like Ash and I when we were in high school. Although Ash never tried to spoon me on any of our sleep over. OK yuck bad thought.
3rd February
I don't know why I'm sitting smiling while I write this but Sonny broke up with Laura tonight. She came over while we were having dinner crying about it. He wanted her to do something and even as I write this I'm blushing. I don't know what I'm going to do when I'm alone with a guy for the first time. Anyway he wanted her to do some things in the back seat of his car but she said no. Which I think was pretty cool of her. When she said no he called her some pretty nasty names and broke up with her. Now she's all heartbroken and she came to be. She could have picked any of the other girls to go to but she came to me. I'm not stupid I know the whole school thinks she's gods gift, she could be friends with any of them, but she picked me. The head cheerleader. And all I am is the girl from the choir. But she came to me, I feel pretty
'Kelly open the door.........' Me and Carrie's diary jump in the air at the sound of my mothers voice.
'Mom?........' Why is she hear. At six in the morning.
'Open......Open....Open open open open open.........' I jump from the bed and pull the door open before she really gets impatient.
'OK OK......'My mothers standing there looking all flustered.
Your brothers new mother in law was a playboy model...............' Yea that would get her flustered. 'My grandkids are going to have a grandmother who poses naked for playboy..........' I watch Ashley walking up behind my mother.
'You finally agreed to their offer Jeanne?..........' Oh so funny Ash, but oh so not the time.
'Your fault........'My mother spins around and points at my best friend. 'If you didn't just marry Jason when I asked none of this would have happened..............' My mother the pimp ladies and gentleman.
'Yea it's six in the morning we really going to do this now?..................'
'I'm taking your bed........'My mother is extra bitchy today.
She's taking my bed...........'Ashley mumbles as my mother walks away. 'And I'm taking your...............' Of course you are.
'I'm on the right side.......' Ashley's already in bed and on the right side. 'I'm going to make sure mom's OK.......I'm on the right side.......'she pulls a face but moves. See she can be a good friend when she wants to be.
