Paula was the first to awake in the tent - or at least she thought so. Stretching with a cat-like manner that most men would have deemed to be incredibly sexy, she quickly slipped out of her sleeping bag and put on her snow suit and jacket. She stepped outside into the brisk morning air and inhaled nature’s scent. Her eyes fell to the ground and she focussed on a set of footprints that seemed to be walking away from the tent. “Guys?”
She stepped back in, watching as both Ryan and Randy awoke, grunting as they stretched. Her eyes snapped to Simon’s place, only to find an empty area staring back. “Where’s Simon?”
Randy and Ryan just stared at her blankly, both at a loss of words.
“Where’s Simon?” Her voice was becoming more frantic, and Ryan had to get up to go and calm her down.
“Dude, Simon left a note.” Randy picked up the note that had been lying on his chest. “Says he couldn’t take my snoring,” Randy rolled his eyes, “so he took a head start to the lodge.” Randy handed the note to Paula so she could look it over.
Narrowing her eyes, she crumpled up the paper and tossed it over her shoulder. “Bastard.” She muttered. “C’mon - let’s go. I’m cold and I want to start moving.” She already begun to put on her back-pack.
She sat on the log watching as Randy and Ryan silently dismantled the tent. “Thanks for helping.” Ryan muttered sarcastically, grinning at her.
“I’m supervising and judging your form.” She shook her head, giving them a small laugh. She turned and started trudging through the snow, her petite feet fitting in Simon’s footprints.
“Man, for a little one - she sure is fast!” Randy puffed from behind, before calling out to her. “Paula, slow down!”
“I’m cold!” She called over her shoulder, still continuing at the same pace as before. Ire was consuming her body, and she ached to give that Brit a piece of her mind. *Walking alone like that - what was he thinking? He could have gotten lost, or attacked...*
Ryan and Randy exchanged glances, having just heard Paula’s strangled sigh. They knew that Simon had left because of Paula, they had both heard them fight during the night, though neither was sure what that fight consisted of.

Paula stepped up to the lodge, looking over her shoulder for her comrades. Her eyes caught site of the setting sun on the horizon and she smiled, inhaling and exhaling the fresh mountain air. They had trekked for most of the day, and her feet ached. “C’mon guys!”
Randy and Ryan appeared from behind an opening in the fir trees that lined the lodge’s territory. “Alright, just knock. I think Cowell stole my key.” Randy grumbled, patting down his pockets.
Paula took a deep breath and knocked, hearing shuffling and finally footsteps approaching the large oak door.
“Breathe, sweetie.”
She turned, letting out a deep breath, eyeing Ryan with curiosity which suddenly melted into thanks.
“...’lo.”
She turned, only to witness Simon’s back, withdrawing away from the door. She inhaled sharply and was about to open her mouth, when Ryan jabbed her in the side.
“Remember to breathe.” He placed a supportive hand on her shoulder and guided her inside the cabin. “Nice of you to wait for us, Cowell.” He smiled charmingly.
Simon sat on the wooden steps that lead to the second floor. “Maybe I didn’t like the view.” His eyes were directed at Paula, and he took in her shocked state. He knew his words were cutting her, but he was too angry to ponder the repercussions. She had burned him, and Simon Cowell did not deal well with injuries.
“Just show me my room.” Paula sighed, not wanting to continue such a battle in the doorway.
“Oh, and so not only am I heater, but I’m a bell-boy too?” He bit, sarcastically.
Paula looked to Ryan for help, who took the hint and stepped in. “Look, there are two rooms with one bathroom downstairs, kitchen and lounge area on the ground floor, and two rooms with a bathroom upstairs.” He picked up his bag and eyed Simon the irate, and the equally furious Paula before heading towards the stairs. “Not wanting to be a casualty in the crossfire,” he began, opening the door leading downstairs, “I’m going to retreat downstairs.”
Randy’s eyes widened, now afraid of being thrust into the dangerous mixture too. “Uh, yeah dawg, I’m right behind you.”
The two watched Ryan and Randy disappear, only their thumping footsteps shedding light as to their existence. Simon finally cleared his throat, standing up to grab Paula’s backpack. “I’ll show you to your quarters, m’lady.” His words could have been deemed chivalrous had there not been such acidity lacing them.
“Shut up, Simon.” Paula muttered, despite allowing herself to be lead.
Simon walked ahead of her, his back hiding the secretly aroused smile that danced across his lips. No matter how angry he was, he could never deny the state of ecstasy he found himself, whenever they would argue. And right now, his sexual drive was peaking, especially hearing the petite woman’s huffs and puffs about their current situation. He silently pondered what fortunes this week would bring, as he watched her snatch the bag from his grasp, step inside the room and slam the door in his face. He chuckled, feeling his pants tighten with desire. “Oh Paula...”
