Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. I do not know Gackt. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Random fact: I love Coheed and Cambria.
Disclaimer: "... ... ..."I speak Squallinese! And I own nothing.
I was watching Moon Child the other night and while watching the credits noticed that Wang Leehom sings "Last Night." I found that very cool. I do not know much of anything about Wang Leehom, but finding out that he sang that was just like "Wow!" Also, I feel rather stupid because I've watched M.C. a gizzilion times and never noticed that. ^^;; Now I must state the obvious: Wang Leehom is sexy.
Another special thank you to Fenris Mourningstar who continues to help with letting me know how to improve my writing. Thanks hun!
Well, I've ranted enough. On with the story I guess...(Sorry not spell checked)

Chapter 4
~
Hyde woke up late in the morning. When he looked at the clock he corrected himself. It was actually the afternoon. Almost forty-five after twelve. He took a quick shower and changed into some jeans and a short sleeved red shirt before wondering over to the room where he'd let Gackt stay. Before knocking against the door he reminded himself that Gackt couldn't go out in the sunlight and it wouldn't do any good to wake him up and bother him. Besides, he looked pretty tired the night before so it would be best to let him sleep.
Hyde walked to the kitchen and pulled back the curtains. It was sunny like the weather channel had predicted. As much as he didn't want to leave Gackt in the house all by himself, he did need to get a few things done and he didn't want to waste the day inside when it looked so much better than it did the day before.
He grabbed his wallet from off his dresser and put on his jacket and shoes and wrote a note to Gackt.
Went to do some shopping. Be back soon. Make yourself at home even though there isn't much food.
-Hyde
He placed the note under the crack of Gackt's bedroom door hoping he would be able to see it. He wasn't sure how else to get it to him. He didn't want to go inside and risk waking him up and he didn't expect Gackt to go outside the room during the day. He figured putting it under the door would be the best idea. Plus, he'd written it on a big piece of paper so it could be easily seen if someone looked in that general direction.
And so, he left the house to do his shopping and let Gackt get all the rest he needed.
†
Gackt watched the paper slide under the door and after a few minutes, his vampire senses picked up the sound of the dront door opening and closing quietly. Apparently, Hyde didn't want to wake him. The note must have been the explanation of where he was going.
The vampire rolled over to face the wall, resting the side of his face on the cool sheets of the bed. His head was pounding and his stomach felt like it was tied into dozens of knots. He was pysichically weakening and he didn't know how much more longer he could go through the emotional wreck his life had suddently turned into...Now he had to go to some stranger to get help? Mana would be absolutely amazed at how this was going.
Gackt felt terribly guilty for what he was doing, but it was really the only thing he could think of to do at such short noticed. He'd saved someone's life and now he was using that as means to get what he needed. He'd told the truth though. He was at a dead end. Since Mana had died, he'd been wandering around aimlessly, sleeping in broken down buildings during the day to hide from the sun, trying to figure out what to do next at night as he traveled the smaller cities of the country.
Then, out of the blue, some kid was being beat up in an alley and needed help. Sort of the perfect opportunity for Gackt. His vampiric senses lead him right to the younger man's home and with the aid of some persuasive conversation, he had a place to stay to sort out everything and eventually plot out the revenge he would get on Mana's muderers.
He felt like crying at the very thought of Mana. He needed him now more than ever. It was ironic. He wanted to be with Mana because he was depressed, but it was because he'd lost Mana that he was depressed. God had a harsh sense of humor. He let the pent up tears finally fall. If h didn't feel he had to get revenge on the men who had killed Mana, he would have burnt to death in the sunlight with Mana's dead body, holding on to his lover. He knew though that after he'd taken care of everything, he could join Mana again in peace.
He suddenly felt a great loathing for the whole human raise. They had killed Mana for the simple reason that he was a vampire! They didn't know anything about Mana. Mana had never hurt anyone in his entire life. He'd never taken blood from an innocent person and never cause a threat to anyone's life. Gackt hated the whole goddamn human race!
...Except Hyde. Hyde had taken him in without even knowing him. He felt he had to let Gackt stay because he had saved his life and he needed to repay him for it. He'd only known Hyde for a single day and he was already doing more for him than any other human had done. He was used to being hated because he was a vampire, but Hyde didn't know what he was and had no reason to hate him...
But what if Hyde found out? The question had been on the tip of Gackt's brain the minute he had decided to follow Hyde's scent and find him. What if Hyde found out? He could lose everything. Or maybe Hyde wouldn't care? Gackt wasn't a cold blooded killer. He hadn't shown any hatred towards Hyde. He'd saved his life! Hyde wouldn't push away someone who had saved his life, right? Gackt hoped that Hyde had more compassion than the rest of the human race cared to show.
He sighed and closed his eyes deciding that sleep would be the best thing for him right now. He didn't want to think about anything at that moment and only wished to have some peace, if only in the hours he was granted with sleep.
†
Hyde had spent the day running around town buying food and some random movie to watch while Gackt slept. Since the sunlight bothere Gackt, Hyde decided he would not bother him and instead watch a movie and listen to some music. The movie ended up being a lot more boring than he had expected and ended up falling asleep on the couch when it had only been playing for forty-five minutes.
An hour had passed and the DVD player had been on for a while after the movie had ended. He woke up for a few moments to turn of the player and role over on the couch into a more comfertable position so he could continue sleeping until Gackt woke up and they could go out for dinner.
As he slept, the hours passed and the sun went down, Gackt waking up a while afterwards. He walked into the living room, not sure if Hyde had returned or not since it was so quiet. He smiled when he saw the smaller man sleeping soundly on the couch. It was rather cute and it was a shame to have to wake him up.
Gackt sat down by the couch, watching Hyde sleep peacefully for a few more moments. He remember doing this with Mana. Watching him sleep peacefully, no one able to hurt him because Gackt could watch over him. He wouldn't let anyone hurt his princess...
Gackt reached over to shake Hyde's shoulder to wake him up. Hyde's eyes opened in alarm; when he noticed it was Gackt he closed his eyes again, sighing in relief.
Gackt chuckled under his breath, "Did I startle you?"
Hyde only nodded.
"Sorry," Gackt leaned on the couch to look at Hyde. The other man looked rather tired even though he'd just been frightened as soon as he woken up.
"It's okay. I didn't mean to fall asleep. Stupid movie's fault," Hyde said before yawning.
Gackt looked over at the TV not seeing a box for whatever movie Hyde had been watching.
"I didn't make to much noise and keep you up did I?" Hyde asked, bringing Gackt's attention back to the smaller man.
"Nope. Wasn't bothere at all. Found your note by the way."
"Oh. Good. I didn't want you to wake up and have no idea where I was. I figured that would be sort of strange for you since it isn't your house."
Gackt laughed, "Yeah. That would probably be a bit awkward. And I'd be worried about you. There's lunatics out there," he pointed towards the door to indicate what he meant, "I've seen them. They attacked a friend of mine just recenlty."
Hyde smiled at the face that Gackt was refering to him as a friend, "I bet that friend of yours thanks you a lot for it."
Gackt couldn't stop smiling. He'd been so miserable, but now that he was around Hyde he couldn't stop being happy except for those few moments when his thoughts were brought back to Mana, "So, what about that dinner promise?"
"Oh!" Hyde sat up, "I almost forgot, "My brain easily turns into fuzz sometimes and forgets everything."
"That's okay. We better go soon though, I'm starved," Gackt helped Hyde up off the couch so they could put on their shoes and coats and leave for dinner.
~
(Yes, yes; it is very short, but I'm making up for it in the next chapter. They go to dinner and Hyde has a teeny bit too much to dwink. haha But it won't be that bad. Trust. me. ^_~ And ignore that asshole telling you not to trust me.)
This has been my favorite chapter so far because I got to show what Gackt was thinking about the whole ordeal. I was stuck on this chapter for a while, but Fenris Mourningstar suggested I show some insight on Gackt's thoughts. Well, after quiting Nano Wrimo, dedicating all my free time to writing this, getting in trouble with my boss at work, and reading TONS of Dir en grey fanfiction, I ended up with this chapter. u.u I'm very proud of it.
My ADD is killing me...*gets stabbed by the smut fairy with a very sharp sword* Apparently he's trying to tell me smut can solve all your problems. I have to keep reminding him that I'm not up to the point to have smut! But he's killing me because I'm dying to write some. * dies * Now I'm going to go write some smut into my Nano Wrimo!
I'm off to Tennesse for Thanksgiving and will be writing the fic whilst bordedom takes me over since I have nothing in common with my relatives...I'll come back, type it up, drag my ass to school to spell check the beast, and post it. Now you know 'cuz it Spug's super short show!
