Hyde was sitting in his shower, his skin red raw from the scrubbing as he tried to clean himself. Tears rolled down his face as his wounds bled, the blood turning the water pinkish. His body was still shaking as he finally dropped the brush. He hugged his knees tightly as he rocked back and forth. He’d lost count of how many times he’d thrown up in the shower, or how many times he nearly passed out from the lack of food. How long had he been in the shower? He had no idea; time just didn’t seem to exist anymore.

The bathroom door swung open, causing Hyde to gasp and shrink back against the wall with a whimper. Thankfully, it wasn’t Gackt’s face he looked up into.

“Haido? Oh God… Hyde… what happened to you?” Tetsu’s eyes were wide as he quickly moved to cradle his friend.

“Oww… ow...” Hyde whimpered as Tetsu’s arms hit sore patches on his body.

“Sorry.” Tetsu pulled back a little. “Come out of the shower Haido… please?”

“But… I’m so dirty… I’m not clean enough yet.”

“Hyde… you are clean… except for the blood… Come on, please? We need to get those wounds looked at.”

The vocalist shook his head quickly and pulled away. “No… no… I’m still dirty…”

“Please… Haido…” Tetsu pleaded softly. “Please?”

Hyde was quiet, his nervous eyes on the bassist, his hands wringing together. “But…”

“But nothing.” Tetsu cut in gently. “You’re not dirty, but you do need to see a doctor. Please? I’ll be there right beside you all the way. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

“Promise?” The shorter man whispered.

“Of course. You’re my best friend.” Tetsu smiled the best he could, although he was terrified for Hyde.

“Can you… can you get the doctor to come here? Outside is scary.” He whimpered, huddling into himself tightly.

“Sure. Look, how about… We turn off the shower and get you into some nice loose comfy clothes? Then I’ll call the doctor and he can come around and make sure you’re okay? How’s that sound?”

Hideto paused a moment as he thought the idea through, and then he nodded. “Okay…”

“Good… Here, take a towel and I’ll turn the water off okay?”

Hyde nodded and slowly got to his feet, wincing in pain. “Ahhhooww…” He pouted as he took the fluffy towel from Tetsu and wound it tightly around himself.

“Are you okay?” The bassist asked as he turned off the water and turned to face the shorter man.

The vocalist nodded a few times. “Yeah…”

“Now, we’ll go get you dressed first. Then I’ll call the doctor. Are you hungry?” He asked gently as he led Hyde from the bathroom and took him into the bedroom.

“Not hungry… thirsty though…” His voice was soft as he padded barefoot into the bedroom.

“Okay, I’ll get you a drink in a bit.” Tetsu replied, going to the wardrobe and finding some loose fitting clothes. “Here, put these on.” He smiled and passed them to the singer.

“Thankyou…” Hyde breathed, taking the clothes and setting them on his lap.

Tetsu waited for a few moments, Hyde didn’t do anything other than sit there and stare at the floor. “Oh. Do you want me to let you get dressed by yourself?”

He looked up the other and nodded softly. “Please…”

“Okay, I’ll just be out in the living room. I’ll go call the doctor. You can come out and sit on the couch when you’re dressed okay?”

Hyde nodded and watched Tetsu leave before he even contemplated getting dressed.

Tetsu took a deep breath, he was terrified. What had happened? No one knew where Hyde had been for the last month, there were countless rumours. Especially when the bodies of his wife and son had been found stabbed to death in their apartment. His hands shook as he picked up the phone and dialled the number for Hyde’s doctor; he spoke to him for a few minutes about the situation and hung up. Hyde was now curled up on the couch tightly, rocking himself slightly.

“Ne, are you okay?” Tetsu asked gently, moving to crouch in front of the other. “Do you want some water?”

“Please…” He nodded a little. “Is… the doctor coming?” He asked shakily.

“Mmhmm, he’ll be here as fast as he can okay?”

“H…hai.” He replied softly.

“I’ll go get you that water okay? I’ll be right back.” Tetsu smiled softly.

The bassist got to his feet and walked into the kitchen, he still didn’t know what had happened to Hyde; but he wasn’t going to push the issue, not until he was ready to talk about it.
