Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. I do not know Orlando Bloom. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
That is how are days were spent for several weeks. He had to return to work on Pirates 3 so I stayed at his home and wrote during the day. Sometimes I would visit the set during the day. Orlando would beam when he would see me. He would run over and hug me tight. I meet the entire crew and learned about their little secrets about my Orli. Kiera told me how he loved sweets. She told me that he practically adored them. He would keep any sort of sweet in his pockets. It would range from gum to hard candies, but he always had something sweet.
Johnny on the other hand would tell me how happy Orlando was since I came to LA. He told me that my Orlando had returned to his cheerful self and that the cast and crew noticed it big time. Johnny would mess with Orlando all the time. They would play practical jokes on each other which usually included me. “I think Kat and I are going to go to lunch right now.” Johnny grabbed me and we walked off giggling, knowing that it was killing Orlando. I could hear him running after us. “Not without me, JD! I don’t trust you with her!” He grabbed me on the opposite side, pulling me closer to him. “I think I could handle you both. “ I joked. That shocked both of the men, but made me laugh hysterically.
We went to lunch at a local diner. Orlando excused himself for a minute. He got a phone call from his agent and had to take it. I sat across from Johnny and sipped my soda. “So when are you going to tell him how you feel about him?” Johnny asked. The question made me choke on my drink. “He knows how I feel about him. I care deeply for him.” I could feel my cheeks getting hotter. I knew what he meant but I did not want to admit it.
“You know what I am talking about Kat. I see the two of you and I see something special. He feels the same but is scared to say something. I think you should say something first.” I looked down at the table. “I …” I stopped suddenly as Orlando came up to the table. “What are you guys talking about? Me, huh?” I looked over to Johnny and begged him with my eyes not to say anything. “We were talking about going to the crew party tonight. Kat wants to go.” Orlando looked at me and winked. “Then we should go.”
That evening, I went home and showered. I put on my favorite jeans and a sweatshirt of Orlando’s. I loved wearing his clothes. They carried his scent even after being washed. It made me feel closer to him. I decided that tonight I would tell him everything. It had been several months since his disastrous break-up. He seemed over her. Orlando came through the door and smiled. “Ready love?” I nodded my head and bounced over to his waiting arms.
The party was a bonfire on the beach. I sat by the fire with Orlando arm’s around me. Everyone was laughing and having a great time. He got up and played football with the guys. They ran around like little boys enjoying each other’s company. I sat there looking into the fire. I was starting to feel a little home-sick for San Diego. I also began to think about Orlando. What was it that was going on with us? Were we just friends? I spent every waking moment with him. We started to even share the sleeping moments together. He pleaded with me one night to sleep next to him in his bed. He was a perfect gentleman when we slept. I have to admit that I enjoyed waking up next to him. I also noticed that he was not dating anyone. Was I cramping his dating?
I turned to watch Orlando again. He ran through the surf away from Johnny who crashed into him. I laughed hysterically at the face of torment that he had as he hit the ice cold water. “He is so hot AND single.” I kept watching him as I listened to the women behind me ogle him. “I thought he was dating some woman, practically living with her.” I smiled at that statement. “He told me that she is nobody.” NOBODY! Did she say Orlando, my best friend, called me a “nobody?” That could not be true. I fought the tears that started to blur my vision. The women kept talking about him and I could not take it anymore. I got up and walked down the beach. The wind stung my eyes that were now full of watery tears. Orlando called after me, but I kept walking. I felt betrayed. I came to his rescue and this is how he repays me. I think the thing that hurt the worse was that I was going to tell him how I was crazy about him … how I could not think about anything else but him. HIM!
I could hear him calling and running after me. I kept going until he grabbed my arms. “Didn’t you hear me kitty …” Orlando turned me around and lifted my head up to reach his chocolate eyes. “What is wrong? What happened?” I pulled away from him. I backed up from his embrace. I glared at him, “Nothing … just realized that I am cramping your lifestyle. Must be hard on you living with a “nobody.” I turned to walk away but Orlando grabbed my arm. “What the hell are you talking about Kat? I never thought that … EVER! Who put that in your head?” I looked past him to the bonfire. He followed my glance and saw the two starlets giggling on the blankets. “THEM! You would believe them over me. You should know that you mean more to me than anybody in the world.” I stared at him. “Do I?” I could not stop the tears from falling. I did not even notice Johnny coming up to us. “Is she ok, Orli?” Orlando nodded and Johnny walked away. “I need to tell you something Kat.” I looked up at him. The expression on his face was one of nervousness. He was struggling telling me whatever he needed to tell me. “I have spent the last few months getting to know you. I cannot imagine my world without you. You are my strength … my conscious … my soul. I become a bloody wreak every time you are not near. I need you in my life always. I …” The football hit my foot. The guys called for Orlando to return to play. He smiled at me, “Until another time my love!” I watched as he jogged to his friends. I felt the wind play with my hair as I walked back to the bonfire.
