Chapter 4:
It’s a new day, but it all feels old…
It’s a good life, that’s what I’m told…
But everything, it all just feels the same.

Billy’s Pov
I stayed away from Benji from the moment he and Joel got back and through the whole set. Each time that he’d move toward me, I’d move away. Whenever this would happen he’d frown. Its almost as if this action was bothering him. Not like I cared.
I place my guitar on a stand and walk back to my dressing room as soon as we’re done. I sit there for a moment in the silence that I know would soon be broken by one of my band mates. I sigh when I hear the knock on the door.
“Billy, can I talk to you?” Joel’s voice carries through the door.
“Yeah, come on in.” He opens the door and closes it quietly behind him.
“What’s up?”
“Not much. I was just wondering…”
“…why I was avoiding Benji?”
“Yeah.”
“Its something that he and I need to discuss.”
“Oh.” He says nodding before starting out of the room.
“Joel?”
“Yeah?”
“You can tell him that I want to see him.” He smiles as he walks out, closing the door behind him.
I only have to wait a few moments before a knock sounds again on the door. I stand up and walk slowly over and open it. He’s standing there staring at his shoes, looking up as soon as he feels my gaze.
“Billy, look I…”
“Come in first.” He walks past me, his body brushing against mine, sending shivers up my spine. Pushing the feeling aside, I close the door. When I turn around he’s standing in the center of the room.
“Have a seat.” I say, pointing to the couch by the wall. He sits, folding his hands in his lap, his head hanging. He looks up at me when I sit across from him at my dressing table.
“Billy…”
“No. I talk, you listen for right now.” He looks at me, fear shining in his eyes, along with something else.
“I’ve had all day to formulate my own interpretations from your earlier comment.”
“And?”
“I want to know what you really meant when you’d said it.” He takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
“Billy…I…its hard to explain.”
“What’s so hard about it?”
“Oh hell.” What does he mean by that? I don’t have long to wait until I find out. He gets up and walks over to where I’m sitting, squatting in front of me. My eyes go wide as he grabs me, pulling me to him.
Our piercings clink together as our lips meet.
