A/N: Okay, so I finished this chapter up yesterday while trying to avoid relations and family friends that I either don't know and/or don't like. :) So here you go!

After being escorted to her history class by Alex, Natalie went through another round of new-student-itis as her brother and her liked to call it. She went through the normal introductions and such, finding that the class was fairly large, she didn’t have to go through large and elaborate introductions, before being assigned a textbook and being given a seat before the lecture began. At least in that class she didn’t feel like such a newbie, just another regular student.
“So, Natalie, is it? You have lunch next right? I’ll show you to our courtyard. Your brother made me promise to at least get you that far.”
Natalie looked up from where she had been putting her books in her bag to be face-to-face with the other boy who she had met earlier that morning. She nodded at his small question about her name before standing and grabbing her bag.
“Yes, I’m Natalie. And why are we going to a courtyard? Is that where lunch is served?”
Frank laughed at the new girl’s questions before turning and heading out of the classroom and off towards the courtyard, not paying too much attention if she was following him or not. Soon enough the scurry of footsteps was heard catching up to him and he glanced over to see Natalie struggling to keep pace with him, and he slowed just a bit. Natalie could feel her chest tightening and managed to mutter a low curse as she fumbled in her bag as she tried to keep up so she wouldn’t get lost.
Although soon enough she felt a hand reach out and take her own, pulling her through a glass door and out into a small courtyard, where there was a few picnic tables set up, two of which were pulled together and housed most of the boys that she had befriended already along with her brother. As she walked over, she collapsed on one of the benches and frantically searched in her bag for the medication, her breath now coming in quick ragged gasps.
“Natie, where’s your inhaler? I certainly hope you didn’t forget it at home again. Here, shh, calm down and just breathe.”
Natalie quickly shot a few bursts of the medicine into her mouth and felt the tightness in her chest loosen. She looked up to smile at Bob, but noticed that he was giving the shorter boy a death glare. She reached over and lightly patted her brother on the arm to let him know that she was perfectly fine and in no worse shape for the small attack. She noticed all the concerned glances that the other boys were giving her and blushed, not being used to so much attention.
“You have asthma too?”
Startled by the sudden question, Natalie looked over to Mikey with a small nod.
“So we have another little injured person to watch over. How fun. And a girl to boot. That’s certainly an interesting one.”
Natalie looked up at the sudden outburst from Frank with a small frown. Had she done something to offend him? She certainly hoped not, after all, she had only been here for barely half the school day. Pulling her sandwich out of her bag, Natalie bit her bottom lip nervously. The habit must have been noticed as she felt an hand lightly graze her arm. She looked up and saw Mikey lean over to whisper in her ear.
“Don’t let Frankie fool you, he’s the biggest mother hen of them all. Besides, I think he’s just trying to scare you.”
“Well, it worked. I mean, I hope I didn’t upset him.”
Frowning at the still hoarse and raspy tone of Natalie’s voice, Bob raised an eyebrow suspiciously at the guy who he had thought to be a pretty decent sort of person, until he almost killed his sister, of course. Bob stood and pulled Frank off to the side and from the looks of it, he was giving the other boy quite the earful. Natalie blushed at how overprotective he tended to be of her, but then again, that was how they had always been, since birth almost.
“So, Natalie, what do you think of the school so far? Do you think you might be finding your way around?”
She smiled as it seemed like the other two boys were trying to make her feel like she fit in. After being shipped from one place to another, she was always happy to have a little bit of fitting in. She took a bite of her sandwich and shrugged nonchalantly.
“It seems to be like every other school I’ve been to. I should be able to find my way around by the end of the week, or at least I hope so. If not I might try to sneak around sometime after school ends to get the hang of the place.”
Her last comment must have been amusing because both of the boys laughed, although it was a little stilted as Bob and Frank walked back over, Frank looking a little more than angry, and Bob still looking like he was about to pummel Frank for what he believed to be the cause of Natalie’s attack. Knowing the scowl on Bob’s face, Natalie simply smiled and slid over closer to Mikey, letting her brother sit on the other side of her.
As Frank sat down beside Ray across the table from them, Natalie glanced between the boys, biting nervously on her lower lip. The silence was awful, and she thought for sure that she would soon go crazy with it, as she had always needed some noise or music.
“Listen, Frank ---“
“Umm, Natalie ---“
Both Natalie and Frank spoke at the same time, causing the silence to break into laughter. She blushed and motioned for him to continue, giggling a little at the childish grin that spread across his face.
“I just wanted to say sorry that I sort of caused you to have an asthma attack. If I had known I would have walked a little slower, it’s a sort of habit of mine, walking fast, I mean. It helps get from place to place as quickly as you can, helps to keep from being caught by the bullies.”
“It’s alright, besides, it’s not really anything you can tell by just looking at someone. Sort of like me and Bobert being twins, I suppose.”
“You two are twins?”
Natalie giggled and nodded at Mikey’s question and the embarrassed blush that covered his face as he busied himself with his glasses in an attempt to hide it. She nudged him lightly with her shoulder, a grin on her face.
“Unfortunately, yes. He got all the athletic muscle and intimidating stuff, and I ended up with the geeky stuff. At least Bobert has enough brains for music, else I think I would have disowned him years ago.”
“Well, not everyone can be as brilliant as you, Natie. Besides, don’t scare off our first friends in this school like the last one. Just because you’re a genius doesn’t mean you have to wave it in front of us lesser humans.”
“Well now it’s obvious they’re at the very least siblings. I don’t think anyone else could tease like that. Although this sibling rivalry might be a little more fun to watch. But aren’t twins supposed to like not argue and know each others’ thoughts?”
Natalie giggled at Frank’s question, having heard that more than once from their mother. She glanced up at Bob with a smirk. They hadn’t played their twin card in a while, so she hoped that they still had the hang of it, as it was always so much fun to see people’s reactions.
“Of course we argue, what sort of siblings don’t? We can even ---“
“Finish each other’s sentences. Or if we wanted, we can ---“ Natalie didn’t even take a breath before finishing up her brother’s sentence, grinning mischievously before they pulled out their last trick.
“Speak the same words at the same time,” they finished together.
At the dumbstruck look of the others at the table, both Natalie and Bob dissolved into laughter after high five-ing each other quickly. They acted more like normal siblings than twins, but they still had their connection, and they both knew that it would always be there for them.
“That was awesome, can you do any other tricks?”
“Like read the other’s mind or such? Are you wanting to know what Natie is thinking right now, Frankie? Is that what you’re asking? We’re not circus animals.”
Natalie laughed at the expression on Frank’s face which went from almost childish enthusiasm to embarrassment. She shook her head lightly, laying a hand on her brother’s arm, as a bit of a warning that he shouldn’t scare off their new friends.
“Bobert’s only teasing. Besides, if you wanted to know what’s in my mind, you could always just ask. Not that I would always tell you. But it’s just a suggestion.”
Frank’s childish giggle made a smile spread across Natalie’s face as the humor was hard to suppress. Although before much more conversation could be held, the loud jarring bell could be heard from inside the building, as it was much quieter outside, but still loud enough to be heard. Natalie stood and was stepping over the bench when she tripped and would have fallen had it not been for a quick pair of hands catching her and pulling her back, falling back onto the bench in her helper’s lap. She glanced up and felt a faint blush spread across her cheeks as she saw that she had fallen into Mikey’s lap. She quickly hopped up, hoping that she hadn’t hurt him or embarrassed him too much, although Frank’s giggle was evidence that there would be some teasing about their little spill.
“Wow, Mikey, I didn’t think you for much of the ladies’ man. You’re not going mushy are you? Sweeping girls off their feet and such?”
Mikey’s cheeks blushed a deeper red as he jumped up gathering his bag and rushing off, muttering something about setting up for rehearsal. Natalie turned back to Frank with a mock scowl before turning to Ray.
“Is he always like this? Honestly Frank, tormenting your friends is an odd way of showing affection. Now, someone please tell me they have orchestra as well.”
“Frankie is a tease, the only time you need to be worried is if he isn’t teasing and/or tormenting you. But we all have orchestra, so that’s a good thing, I think. Come on or we’ll be late.”
Natalie picked up her bag and slid it over her shoulder, turning to walk to orchestra. She caught a glimpse of Bob pulling out his drumsticks again, and she just shook her head laughing, trying to think to herself what box she had packed her instrument in so she could have it for rehearsal tomorrow.
