Even as I ran the familiar distance to Frank’s house, escaping those unwanted presences in my own, I tried to convince myself that--- clearly--- it was all a strange and terrible dream.
Yet, despite my better logic, something was telling me that it wasn’t; something was telling me that every action, every move and decision I made from here on out, would have very serious and very final consequences. It was like having someone’s life in my hands and well, until I woke up, I honestly was the keeper of someone’s fate. Jamia, my best friend’s, fate. Hell, even Frank was a risk here. Either way he lost. If he chose to spare Jamia, by being with me, he’d lose Jamia; and if he chose Jamia, they’d kill her and force him to be with me, and he’d still lose her.
I realized, as I reached his door, that I’d begun to cry somewhere along the way over. It must have been for a good amount of time as well since the reflection in the glass pane showed running mascara under my eyes.
I wiped the mascara trails and tears away in one swift and frustrated movement. I hated crying, I hated feeling weak; feeling like I wasn’t in control...
FUCK! I hated this situation!
I didn’t knock, there was no need to, it was practically my house as well as their’s.
“Frank! Jamia!” I called, cursing at how shaky and obvious my tone was. I walked into the all-too-silent house and peered around in a mixture of curiosity and fear. “Guys?” I asked in a far more insecure tone. My heart began pounding in my chest and my blood ran cold as the eeriest silence answered my yells.
Without warning, a hand slipped around my waist, another over my mouth. “Don’t scream,” the soft, warm whisper tickled my ear in a manner that would have been delicious, had it not been for the minor heart attack I’m sure I’d just experienced. It wasn’t Frank, or Jamia, or Gerard. At that moment, I wasn’t sure who it was. I knew two things: one, they were involved with Gerard; two, if he knew where their hand was nonchalantly creeping, he’d undoubtedly chastise them for touching ‘the chosen one’ in that manner. I may not know what the hell was going on with these ‘vampires’ or how they operated, but somehow I doubt this was allowed. “Actually, far more has crossed Gerard’s mind,” they said, answering my silent theory with a smirk in their voice. “Your friends are, at the current moment, alright, but Gerard took them last night,” his lips were still at my ear, I felt the urge to shiver. “Promise not to scream if I take my hand from your mouth, Lizzi?” I nodded, still unable to see the owner of the voice. I felt his tongue hit my earlobe softly, biting it even gentler in a manner that nearly made me melt, before removing the hand on my mouth; the other hand remained under my bust, holding me against his chest.
“W-where did he take Frank and Jamia?” I whispered.
“I can’t tell you,” he whispered again. “You’ll see soon enough though.”
“Which one are you?” I asked in what I thought was a bold move.
I felt his lips, now on my neck, curling into a smirk. “Why? Dying to know which one of us has you turned on, when you should be feeling worried or frightened?”
“No,” I tried to say in a convincing tone; unfortunately, as he kissed my neck, my voice cracked.
“See for yourself, Liz,” he grinned, turning me quickly in his arms, keeping his grip on my waist tight.
I looked him over in disbelief. My god, I’d never seen anything so... perfect in all my life. It was Mikey, only today his hair was dark and a bit shorter, and his eyes were free of the glasses I’d found attractive the day before. It was something that shouldn’t have been so drastic of a change, but for some reason, he’d gone from looking shy and cute to dangerous and downright sexy.
“The previous is called a façade, darling,” he smirked. “Was my demure and comforting appearance not a factor in why you let us come into the house in the first place?”
He was right, it was a factor... Although, in all honesty, I may have been quick to let him in if he’d appeared this way... Probably not the rest of the lot, but, my god... He was like--- Christ! This is sooo not the time to be thinking of these things, Liz! Frank and Jamia are missing and he’s, I don’t know the enemy... The extremely attractive, enemy.
“Thank you,” he smirked. “Listen, Frank and Jamia will be fine, at least until night fall. It’s still morning, Gerard and stuck in your house, I’m stuck here and Ray and Bob can’t touch your friends until Gerard or I tell them too. So... If you wanted to, oh let’s say, make use of that couch over there... there’s plenty of time,” he said softly.
Okay, this was getting ridiculous.
But fuck, his idea sounded sooo good... Why did it have to sound so good?!
I wanted to walk away, but instead I blurted out, “I thought vampires were walking corpses, you can’t function...”
He laughed, “We’re the undead, and I assure you, I’m fully functional. Fuck, I wouldn’t have survived 400 vampire years if I hadn’t been... Whatever you’ve been told about us probably isn’t true... I can bleed, I can breath, I have a soul and I can be killed. I can’t become sick, catch a disease,” he smirked, “of any kind, and I can’t lie to you, since you are my leader... The same reason you can’t lie to me, because we’re all bound to each other. That’s why you blurted that thought out a moment ago.”
“Slip of the tongue, I’m positive I could lie to you,” I said honestly.
“Do you want me, right now? If even in the slightest bit of lust, against your better judgment?” he asked in an entirely serious manner.
Of course not! “Yes,” I said without thinking. I blinked, realizing that he was telling the truth.
“Before you ask, I don’t just want you because you’re here or because you’re the leader, the queen, if you will... I honestly like you... I’ve gotten inside your head the last couple of days, and... I’ve been watching you since you were 15... Not to creep you out, that was just our duty... I didn’t really have a choice,” he whispered.
“How much do you like me?” I felt myself asked, my hands rubbing his toned chest, a bit of deviousness suddenly creeping up in me.
“If I had my way, Frank wouldn’t be your match,” he said, playfully pulling my hair so my head tilted back as he began kissing my neck. My nails dug into his back slightly and I smirked. I pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it to the side, before straddling him and kissing him deeply, questioning what had come over me. He took my bottom lip between his teeth and pulled back softly before answering my thought, “It’s the vampire in you...”
“What would come of you if someone found out what we were doing?” I asked as he slipped two fingers inside of me, I drew a sharp breath as his fingers began to pump.
“I’d be killed,” he whispered before his lips and tongue invaded the area his fingers had just been.
