Chapter 4: Our House in the Middle of our Street
∞♥♥∞
We called Jeremy the very next morning and told him that we would like to buy the house. We met up and gave him the money in full for the house. We knew it was no use in just paying the down payment when we could afford to pay it all at once. We signed all the papers and met the current owners. They were nice people who had moved only because they wanted a bigger place.
The house was ours, but we had to tend to other things before we could get moved in. I had to go back to recording my album, and Chris agreed to write more with me. So we decided to stay in LA longer so that we could work together.
I stayed back one night to finish up something I was working on, and Chris went out with his friend Lauren to a club. I was glad that I was secure enough in our relationship to trust him.
Anyway, The next day, we decided to go shopping for furniture to put in our new home. I was glad our home was semi small and that we wouldn’t need much. After paying for the house, it left us with enough money, but things would still be slightly tight until my album started selling.
Our house had a basement, one half bathroom, a living room, a foyer, a dine-in kitchen, and a den downstairs, and four bedrooms, a full bathroom, and another full bathroom in the master bedroom. That left sort of a lot to decorate, but we wouldn’t have to decorate that extravagantly. We planned to just decorate with the basics.
“Let’s work our way up and go room by room,” Chris suggested as we entered the furniture store.
We had rented a moving van. We knew the workers could help us load the van. As for getting it in the house and set up, Brandon and our other friend, Ace, were going to come over to our new place and help us, once we called them.
“I’d rather start on our bedroom,” I said with a shrug.
Chris smirked. “Well, they don’t sell beds here, so you’ll have to settle for starting downstairs.”
I sighed. “Oh fine.”
So we went to work at picking out stuff that we liked. We didn’t really need anything for the foyer. Maybe we could buy some stuff to decorate the walls later, I figured. It was the same for the bathrooms. They already had everything we needed furniture-wise.
I had brought a pen and some paper and kept it in my bag in case we needed to write anything down. I handed it to Chris. “You wanna right down what we need?”
Chris nodded, and took the paper and pen from me. “All right. We need three new bathroom curtains and maybe toilet seat covers and trash cans to match accordingly. Oh and matching bathroom rugs too!”
I rolled my eyes, but grinned nonetheless. So now he was matching things? And the fans think that I am the more gay one.
We ended up buying a dining room set for the kitchen. For the living room, we bought a coffee table, a couple of easy chairs, and a leather sectional couch that would also serve as a love seat since it was so big. We bought a leather couch, a leather love seat, two more easy chairs, a computer desk, a computer chair, and another coffee table for the den. Finally, for the bedrooms, we brought chests of drawers, mirrors, chairs, and bookshelves. We still had beds to buy from the bed store, and kitchen supplies from the appliance store. Not to mention we needed a washer and a drier. I was just glad that between the show and the tour we had made a lot of money.
It was all worth it to me though. For I knew that moving in with Chris would only bring us closer.

By the time we got back to our place, it was late. We had no room left in the van for the beds, so they were going to be delivered to us. The washer and drier, as well as the refrigerator, were going to be delivered to us as well.
Blake had called up Brandon and Ace on the way home, and they were there at our house to help us unload by the time we got there. We hadn’t gotten around to breaking the news to them about us being a couple. We wanted to tell them after the rest of the top ten knew. Even after the rest knew, we didn’t get much of a chance to see Brandon and Ace. They had come to one of our shows, but there were so many people around, that we still hadn’t gotten the chance to tell them. We decided that we would tell them today.
“Thanks for helping us unload, man. We have a lot of shit,” Blake said, shaking Brandon’s and then Ace’s hand when we got out of the van.
“Hey. I agreed to move furniture. I’m not moving your shit no matter how good of friends we are,” Ace joked.
Blake laughed, but Brandon and I rolled our eyes at each other. Ace always tried to be funny, but the poor dude was not.
“Hey, I’m helping you move. The least you can do is laugh at my jokes,” Ace said to me.
“Yeah, Richie! Have a sense of humor,” Blake ordered.
I laughed the most fake laugh ever, but it satisfied Ace.
He shrugged. “Good enough!”
We immediately went to work at setting things up. We got the living room set up first. It took all four of us to move the sectional. That thing was heavy! I usually don’t struggle to carry things, but that thing was a pain in the butt to carry. We all sighed sighs of relief when it was finally set down.
The easy-chairs were a piece of cake—no pun intended. It only took two of us per chair to carry those in.
It took us a good two hours just to get everything placed where it was supposed to go downstairs.
“Shall we break for dinner, or shall we set the bedrooms up first?” I asked the others.
“Dinner!” Blake said, slouching down on the sectional. “I don’t think I have the energy to even lift the TV remote now.”
“It’s because he’s so short. He tires out easier,” Brandon joked.
“And he doesn’t have the guns,” Ace said, flexing a bicep.
I smiled. “I don’t know. I think he’s getting there. I happen to love his muscles.” I gently squeezed Blake’s upper arm, causing him to blush.
“Dude, that looks seriously gay,” Brandon said.
I was the one to blush this time. I had gotten so used to Blake’s and my friends knowing about us that I had forgotten that Brandon and Ace didn’t know about us yet.
“Is there something you two aren’t telling us?” Ace asked with a playful smirk. “I mean, you two are moving in together, and are so touchy-feely”
Brandon nodded. “And they've been practically attached at the hip since the day they met each other. Let’s not forget thy shared a bedroom when we were on the show.”
“Did you two put you beds together?” Ace joked.
He and Brandon both snickered, having no idea how right they were.
Blake and I glanced at each other. “Should we tell them?” I asked under my breath.
He shrugged. “We might as well. Maybe it will finally shut them up.”
“Tell us what? That you two are eloping in Vegas?” Ace quipped.
I shook my head. “No, but maybe we’ll get married one day.”
Brandon and Ace stared at me for a split second, and then they both burst out laughing.
“I thought you were serious for a moment. You sounded so sincere,” Brandon said.
Ace nudged him, and they both snickered again.
“What would be so wrong with Chris and I getting married? You never know. It could happen one day,” Blake said.
Brandon and Ace turned their attention to Blake now.
“Seriously, dude, stop it. You’re going to make me pee my pants,” Ace said.
“We’re serious! We’re dating. We have been ever since the top sixteen week,” I confessed.
Brandon and Ace were quiet for so long that I thought they were going to get up and leave.
However, Brandon finally spoke. “You two are punking us.”
Blake sighed, exasperated. Before I knew what was happening, he pulled me in for a long and passionate kiss. I moaned hungrily into it, and kissed him back. He broke the kiss, slightly panting. He turned his attention back to Brandon and Ace. “Now do you believe us?”
My mouth dropped open. I could not believe he had just done that. But I was glad he did. I grinned.

Ace and Brandon were both quiet for a moment.
Ace was the first to speak this time. “Well, I guess we should have known. I have an excuse though. I wasn’t around you two as much as Brandon was.”
“Well, Blake is all ‘I’m straight. I’ll shout it out!’” Brandon said, referring to an interview that Blake had done to thwart any suspicion about the two of us. “And then Sligh’s all ‘my friends aren’t gay! They are the most women-loving men I know.'” He was referring to Sligh’s blog.
“I’ve seen you both flirt with other girls,” Ace piped in.
I shrugged. “Well, what did you expect? We couldn’t make it obvious that we were dating. For one, we’re not ready for the whole world to know that we’re gay for each other, and for two, there was that dumb rule about current contestants not being able to date other current contestants.”
“So who else knows?” Brandon asked.
“The rest of the top ten all know. Would you believe all but Sligh found out by accident? Most of them walked in on us, and Haley, Gina, and Gina’s fiance, Joe, found a sex tape that Chris and I had made.” I blushed at having to mention he sex tape again. I was surprised I could still stand to watch it without dying of embarrassment.
Ace burst out laughing. “You guys made a sex tape?”
Chris and I both looked down, nodding and blushing.
“And you friends saw it? Didn’t you guys lean anything from Paris Hilton?” Brandon asked.
“Yeah, yeah, just drop it,” Chris said. Apparently, he was still embarrassed about it, as I was.
“Do your parents know?” Brandon asked.
Chris shook his head. “No, but we’re going to tell them soon. Right now it’s just the top ten and a few of our closet friends who know.”
“Are you scared to tell your parents?” Ace asked.
“I am kind of. I think we both are,” Chris answered. He looked over at me.
I nodded. “I’m scared, but I have faith that my parents won’t disown me or anything.”
“Well, we’re sorry about the teasing earlier. We honestly had no idea,” Ace said.
Brandon nodded. “But now that we know, it’s cool. I’m happy for you two.”
Ace nodded. “So am I.”
Chris and I both smiled.
“Thank you,” we said in unison.
I was glad that they were okay with Chris and I being couple. With each person that accepted us, the more it made me think that our parent would too.

The rest of the day was spent having dinner, and setting up the rest of the house. I was really glad that Ace and Brandon were cool with Blake and me being a couple, but then again, I never really doubted that they would be. I just hoped things went as well with Blake’s and my parents.
The next day the beds, washer and drier, and refrigerator were all delivered and set up. Blake and I spent the day putting the sheets and blankets on all the beds and putting the rugs and bathroom curtains up—all the extra stuff. And by the end of the day, everything was set up.
We both sighed, and placed our arms around each other. “Well, we did it. We have our first home,” I said.
Blake rested his head against mine. “Yes, we do.”
We looked at each other at the same time, and Blake had the same look on his face that I knew I must have had.
I nodded towards the bed behind us, for we were standing in the main bedroom. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
“If you’re thinking about breaking in our new bed in then we are.”
I grinned. “That’s exactly what I was thinking.”
“I call top first!”
I laughed, and pulled him in for a kiss. “You got it, babe.”
