As I ran to work (late again) I cursed myself in my head. I had accidentally called my landlord 'whore', and I would probably be evicted. Oh well, it wasn't an accident, she just annoyed the fucking hell out of me and I was drunk. I felt sweat on my forehead as I ran and I cursed the damn weather as well as myself. It was not the best of mornings to say the least.

Of course I got in trouble for being late, why wouldn't I? I had had the worst few days in my life (not really, since the last ten years of my life had been nothing but misery) and me getting fired wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary. However this time I was lucky enough to get off with a warning. This was good since I now probably would have to look for another place to live.
Glad that I was on a break I grabbed a cigarette from my almost empty pack and lit it, standing outside of the store in nothing but an old My Chemical Romance hoodie. A girlish shriek caught my attention and I turned to my left, to glance at the entrance of the store as two girls walked inside.
One of them had black hair, and the other was a blonde. They looked like they could be each others opposites. The first slim and with a more magical smile, and the second a little chubby (okay, she was kind of fat) and with a more teenager smile.
The black haired girl caught my eye for a few seconds, and I got the distinct feeling I had seen her before, but I shook it off as I knew my break was now over and I had to go back to work.
With one last glance at the girls, that by now had walked through the doors and into the store, though the first girl that in my head I named Pixie-Dark, was still staring at me I made my way over to the staff entrance as I threw my cigarette to the ground.
The rest of the day passed, without any real events. Yeah, the girl from earlier, Pixie-Dark, and her friend (that I had now named Pixie-Light, because of her blonde hair) came back to the store once more and I had to help Pixie-Light to locate the "special kind of yoghurt that I simply must have". As I helped them I couldn't help but change my mind about Pixie-Light. In the beginning I had thought of her as the side-kick, and sure she probably was, but she wasn't at all like I thought.
She wasn't at all fat, but just simply a little… heavier and more in love with food as Pixie-Dark was. But her face was extraordinary beautiful, and if I hadn't been gay (or madly in love with Gerard, or madly heart broken and just pathetic in every sense of the word) I probably would've made a fool out of my 35 year old self and tried to flirt with her.
Pixie-Dark kept giving me glanced though, that I had a hard time reading. I simply couldn't understand why she had such interest in me.
"If you don't mind me asking," Pixie-Dark started as I had just pointed out the yoghurt for Pixie-Light. "What is your name?" She finished and I let out a deep sigh as I ran a hand through my unwashed hair.
"Listen miss, I bet you're a nice girl and all, but I have to work" I said in a harsh tone, not meant to hurt her at all, but simply to get my point across. Something I think I did, since she gave me a kind of hurt glance, and she bit her lower lip nervously.
With another sigh I rolled my eyes and said "Frank" before walking away to continue working. I just couldn't afford losing my job, not now when I was sure to be evicted.
After another few hours I finally could call it quits and go home. But as I left the store I once more saw Pixie-Dark, and Light, standing outside the doors. With a deep sigh I decided to once and for all find out what they wanted.
"Excuse me, but I'm kind of sick of you staring at me all the time" I said as I lit a cigarette from my newly bought pack of cigarettes. They exchanged glances and I thought for a moment they were going to bolt, but then Pixie-Light took the other girls hand in hers and gave her a light squeeze. I raised an eyebrow at the both of them before clearing my throat, indicating that I wanted an answer.
"You don't recognize me?" Pixie-Dark asked with something that could've been sorrow mixed in with her sweet voice. I gave her a strange look then shrugged, as if to say 'should I?' She looked disappointed, or maybe even sad, not that I could understand why.
"Frank, I'm Jennifer Way, your daughter" She said and instantly my eyes widened and I took a few steps back.
"No, no, no, no!" I said as I kept moving away from her, but she kept walking after me with Pixie-Light holding on to her hand.
"Yes I am" She said again but I put my hands over my ears to shut her voice out.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I screamed and she finally stopped, looking surprised at my outburst. Around us on the street people had started stopping to look at us, but Pixie-Light gave them a death glare that would make anyone leave and soon we were pretty much alone again since it was pretty late.
"Frank, why did you leave?" She whispered, her voice thick with unused tears and I could feel my own tears burn behind my eyes. I tossed my almost forgotten cigarette to the ground before closing my eyes firmly.
"Leave me alone" I said again then turned around and ran.
