Chapter 4: Bad News
"Some one please tell me whose idea this was again?" Ethan said as he pulled his hoodie tighter around him. Michael, Clint, Brendan, and Ethan all looked at Andy who was sitting on the ground against the wall asleep.
It was around six in the morning and today was the day the tattoo place was giving out their special Halloween tattoos for twenty dollars a tattoo. The last two years they all got a tattoo together. But this year the tattoo parlor said that people could get as many as they wanted.
The rules were there was a mandatory seven dollar tip and the tattoos were thirteen dollars. So pretty much twenty dollars. Also they had to pick from a sheet of what the tattoo place had already drawn up. They couldn't change the size or the colors. No exceptions.
Last year they all got in line late and almost didn't get in. But this time they got up at four and got in line around five thirty this morning. Andy was already up because of the slight time difference between where she was and where Lynn was.
They've been video chatting with each other almost every day that it's been messing with Andy's sleep schedule. But Andy's been managing, she would set alarms for her to be up at least ten minutes before Lynn would call her.
But this call lasted longer than normal. Only because Andy was telling Lynn about getting new tattoos and explaining the Halloween special the tattoo parlor had. She promised Lynn that she would send her pictures. They finally hung up with each other around the time Ethan was ready to leave and meet the others.
Now here they were all staring at the sleeping Andy next to the door against the wall. They were the first ones in line and slowly people started to show up. It was cold and rainy and perfect for the month of October.
"Hey guys," Trey said as he came up to them with two drink trays of to go coffee cups for them.
"Trey I could kiss you right now!" Brendan said as he wrapped his hands around the hot cup warming up his hands.
"You could but you won't," he said and every one laughed. He went over to Andy and sat down next to her.
He nudged her and she her head shot up, "Is it open?!" She said in a panic and Trey laughed and shook his head.
"No, but I do have coffee for you," he said giving her a cup.
"Oh you're an angel!" She said taking the cup gratefully. He stood up and then helped her up and they all were standing in a small circle trying to keep warm.
"We've should've dressed warmer for this," Clint said pulling his beanie over his ears a little more.
Every one agreed, "Fucking weather man said it was going to be nice and sunny today," Michael exclaimed taking a sip of his coffee.
"How much longer until they open?" Ethan asked.
Andy looked at her watch, "We got two and half more hours."
"Are we getting breakfast after this?" Michael asked.
Everyone nodded, "I thought we agreed on Rick's." Trey said.
"Oh yeah that's right. I need more coffee," Michael said and took another sip.
"Almost there guys, almost there." Andy said taking a sip of her coffee.
While they were waiting to get into the tattoo parlor PVRIS was just finishing up a show in Munich.
****************************************************************
"THANK YOU MUNICH! YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!" Lynn said into the microphone after they did their encore. The band rushed off stage and Mark came up to them like always, and like always told them how great they did. He went over their schedule for the next few days. It was the same like always. Interviews, meet and greets, traveling to the next city and try to do a video shoot.
They followed the stage manger to their bus and once they were on it all three found a spot and collapsed like they always did.
"Man I love Europe, the energy is so awesome!" Alex said as he took a sip of water.
"I can't wait until we go back to London. I always love playing there," Brian said as he started to take off his shoes.
"Manchester is defiantly my favorite. They go nuts. Oh, and Paris too, every time we go, I can just feel so much love." Lynn said as she got up and walked to the back of the bus and too her bunk bed and started to grab a change of clothes.
"Speaking of love, heard you and Andy have been talking a LOT. What's up with Andy?" Alex asked with a smirk.
Luckily her best friends couldn't see her blush as she was changing her clothes, "Remember how she got tatted before we left?" She asked as she finished getting dressed into more comfortable clothes.
"Yeah, what, she's getting tatted again or something?" Brian asked with a laugh as he started to walk over to his bunk and get changed as well. Alex followed not too soon after.
"Pretty much. I guess the tattoo place she goes to has this Halloween special every year and a shit ton of people go. When I was on the phone with her she was just about to leave."
"Isn't it like six in the morning over there or something?" Alex asked.
Lynn nodded and tossed the clothes she was wearing earlier on the spare bunk under hers, "Yeah well according to her, people start lining up early because it's pretty much twenty dollar tattoos. I guess this year you can get as many as you want, unlike the previous years."
"Okay but what's the catch?" Brian asked as all three walked back out to the sitting area of the bus and they all found a spot and sat down.
"Well there's a mandatory seven dollar tip, the tattoos are thirteen dollars, and you have to pick designs from this sheet that the parlor has. You can't change the size or the colors."
"So, seven dollar tip plus the thirteen for the tat, yeah that's twenty bucks alright. Wow that's not a bad deal." Brian said nodding his head.
"I think we left too early," Alex said with a laugh.
"How about we make a plan for next year to go there and get Halloween tattoos?" Brian asked looking at his best friends with hopeful eyes.
"I'm down," Alex said and Lynn nodded in agreement. The trio became silent as Alex turned on their TV and was looking through their DVD binder to find something to watch. Lynn wanted to call Andy again but when she looked at the time on her phone she knew that she would be in line waiting. She would call her in a few hours. She didn't want to play stalker but she was looking through Andy's social media profiles and couldn't help but smile.
She saw a pictures of Andy that she posted not to long ago of her and her friends being first in line for the tattoos. She kept hitting the like button for all the pictures and then she started to look through more of Andy's profile.
She saw pictures of her with another girl that has more of an Asian descent and her smile started to fade because she was in almost all the pictures. Then she read a comment about this girl being Andy's sister. Andy never mentioned a sister, so she did some more digging. The next thing she knew she was looking at all through Andy's family profiles. Once she reached one of Andy's aunts she decided to stop.
It was then Alex picked out a DVD and walked over to their DVD player and put it in.
"What did you pick?" Lynn asked as she laid back and got comfortable on the couch.
"Um Assassin's Creed, it's based off this video game," Alex said looking at the DVD box. Lynn started to blush slightly.
"What? Why are you blushing?" Brian asked as he was getting comfortable too as the DVD started to load.
Lynn shook her head and continued to smile. "I'm not hitting play until you tell us why you're blushing," Alex said with a smile as he walked over to a chair and sat down.
Lynn picked up a throw pillow and brought it to her face and let out a small scream. Brian took another throw pillow and threw it at Lynn. She took the pillow away from her face and then threw the pillow she screamed in at Brian.
"Oh that's it," he said as he grabbed the pillow and the two of them started to have a pillow fight and Alex couldn't help but join in all the fun.
They didn't even notice the bus starting to move, they were having too much fun hitting each other with a pillow. The rest of this tour was going to be amazing. The three of them couldn't ask for a better place to be right now than right here with each other on this bus. They had their ups and downs but now that they're getting older and they're learning more about everything, things were falling into place for them.
They couldn't wait to see what the next few years has in store for them. As long as they were together, nothing was going to stop them.
**************************************************************************
Andy and her friends were all at Rick's eating breakfast and looking at each other's new tattoos.
Brendan got a skull, and a tombstone on his the inside of his wrist. Michael got a cross, a skull with a small palm tree, and a spaceship on his upper arm. Ethan got a butterfly on his ankle, a harpy on his wrist, and a balloon on his tricep. Clint got a shark on his upper arm, right under that he got a harpy, and an anchor. Trey got a lighting bolt, a shark, and an umbrella all on his calf. Andy got a cross, a reaper, and a cross tombstone on top of her left bicep.
"Brendan, even though you didn't scream, I could hear you scream," Andy said with a laugh. Everyone nodded in agreement. Brendan always went with them, but he never got a tattoo until today.
"It wasn't that bad," he said taking a sip of his orange juice. They all continued to talk about their new tattoos.
Rick came over and took a group picture of all of them and he said it was going on the cafe's profile, he's gonna caption it, "My favorites rain or shine, day or night, they are here! Love you!"
They laughed and went back to their breakfast. They were so lost in their conversation that they didn't see Andy's sister rush in. She took a look around and saw Andy. She hurried over to them.
"Oh hey Wendy, what's up?" Clint asked.
"Hey. Andrea do you have your phone?" Looking confused Andy got her phone out of her pocket and saw that she had at least ten missed calls from her dad, five from her mom, and eight from Wendy. Not to mention text messages from her Uncle and Step Aunt along with her two cousins and step cousin.
"I'm sorry it must have been on silent. What's going on?"
"Can we do this outside?" Wendy asked. Andy could tell her little sister was about to cry.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. " She grabbed her hoodie and Trey let her out of the booth.
"I'll be back guys," she said as she put on her hoodie and put her hand on Wendy's back and they started to walk outside.
"What's going on?" Michael asked as he watched the two sisters outside. Their booth was right next to the window where they were standing. They saw Wendy crying and Andy pulling her into a hug and after a few moments they pulled apart.
It looked as if Wendy pulled herself together, and then they saw Andy's face go pale. She reached for the ledge to help her stand. When Wendy went to give her a hug Andy put her hand up. She said something and started to walk back inside.
She pulled out her wallet and put money on the table. She took out her keys and took her apartment key off the ring and gave the keys to Ethan, "Um, I gotta go, there's been a death in the family."
Before any one could react she put her hands up, "Clint I'll call you about what's going on. Ethan can you take my truck home? I need to go see my parents."
They all tried to talk to her but she rushed out of there before they could say anything. The last time they saw her like this was when her cousin was shot and that was three years ago. They hoped that it wasn't the case this time. They all looked after her as she walked out of the cafe and then got into Wendy's Yaris.
The friends looked at each other and Ethan couldn't help but wanting to be there for his best friend. But he knew that she needed to be with her family. He knew she wasn't going to be home tonight. She would want to stay at her parents place for a few days.
He also didn't know how to tell Lynn. He knew that Andy wouldn't tell her, but not in this state. He was pretty sure if she was going to tell her she would do it now. But in the state that she's in right now she had tunnel vision just like she did three years ago.
His phone was bringing him out of his thoughts and when he looked down he smiled a small smile when he saw the name for a video chat. But he knew he had to ignore it because what mattered right now was his best friend's state of mind.
They all finished their breakfast and they each paid their share and started to leave. They gave each other a hug and told Ethan if he hears anything to let them know. They parted ways and each one of them had Andy and her family in their thoughts.
*********************************************************************
"Yeah, just let me know as soon as you can and I'll let my work know," Andy said into her phone. Her parents were on their phones with relatives as was Wendy. As soon as they walked through the doors they each gave their parents a hug. They all didn't know much because they just found out about everything just a few hours ago.
After a few minutes of the four of them making plans all their phones started to ring. Her dad was talking with his brother, her mom was talking to her step aunt, Wendy was talking to their step cousin, and Andy was talking with her cousins. It seemed all four were having the same conversation about plans and to let them know whenever things were set.
So far the plan was to go down there in the next week or so, to help with anything that their family needed. Everyone got off the phone around the same time.
"Are you going to stay with us for a while?" Her mom asked as she ran her hands through her eldest daughters short black hair and all Andy could do was nod.
"Oh babe," her mom said and pulled her close. At this point Andy couldn't hold it in anymore and just let the tears fall. Her dad was doing the same with Wendy.
Death was always unexpected but, this was truly unexpected. All they knew was that their step cousin Daniel went to sleep and never woke up. They don't know why he didn't wake up that morning. But tomorrow they would have answers as to why he never did.
The scary part was the fact that he was only twenty six. Andy pulled away from her mom and dried her eyes. She got up from her seat and walked to the bathroom to splash some water on her face. She didn't even bother to look at herself in the mirror. She let the cold water run and put her hands under the water and brought her water filled hands up to her face.
She repeated this a few times. She turned off the water and dried her face off. She put the small towel back and walked back out to the living room and saw Ethan standing there. Not saying a word she rushed up to him and threw her arms around him.
The two best friends didn't say a word. Andy held onto him as if he was her lifeline. Her dad was the one that called him to come over just so Andy could have a friend. He did the same with Wendy and called her best friend Kat who just walked through the door and Wendy went right to her.
The four of them just stood there wrapped in the comfort of each other's arms. Just then the front door opened again and people from Andy's parents' work started to walk in. They must have called everyone on their phone grapevine because now their house was full of people.
Andy's mom was now on the phone with the Filipino restaurant they always order from and she started to place an order. But one of her friends came up to her and took the phone out of her hand.
"Susan we'll handle the food. Go be with Kevin, you both need each other right now," her co worker said. All Susan could do was nod and walk over to her husband who was standing by the back door looking outside.
They didn't say a word to each other. They just wrapped their arms around each other. Everyone was chatting away and trying to make Andy's family comfortable. It wasn't long until Andy's friends showed up and some of Wendy's friends did too.
Andy didn't ask how they knew to come over. They all just gathered around her and formed a group up around her just as Wendy's friends did with her. The only noise at this point was the chatting between the older adults. Some were coming and going while some were making plans for dinner tonight and made sure that Andy's family didn't have to lift a finger.
It was times like these that Andy was grateful to have such an amazing support system. She couldn't ask for a better one. They all pulled away and they knew not to ask if she was doing okay because they knew that she wasn't.
They didn't know what to say or do but just to be there. She felt her phone go off, she looked and saw Lynn's name pop up. But she couldn't talk to her right now. Ethan saw this and he knew he couldn't put it past her. He did the same thing with Alex, and then with Brian earlier.
It wasn't his place to tell them what happened. He knew that Andy would tell them eventually but right now wasn't the time to do so.
*****************************************************************
"Well that was weird," Lynn said as she looked at her phone.
"What's that?" Alex said as he was playing a video game.
"I just tried calling Andy and she didn't pick up," she said looking up at him.
"Really? I tried calling Ethan and he didn't pick up either," Brian said looking up from his book.
Alex looked at his two best friends, "Same, I tried Ethan about an hour ago and no answer."
"Are they okay?" Brian asked. They three best friends looked at each other and then started to look through their phones to go on their friends' social media.
"Okay four hours ago they were at Rick's eating breakfast," Brian said and he kept scrolling.
" 'Andy I'm so sorry, let me know if there's anything we can do. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family,'" Alex read out loud. Lynn shot up and so did Brian. They rushed over to Alex and they started to see all these post about loss and prayers.
"What's going on?" Lynn asked.
"Andy just posted, 'Thank you every one for your kind words in our family's time of need. Your prayers and thoughts are truly appreciated. We are at a loss for words from the news we received this morning. But your strength and encouraging words give us the strength to get through this ordeal. Thank y'all so much. I love you all.'"
Alex read out loud, then looked up at Lynn and Brian. It wasn't long until all three started to text and call their new friends to make sure Andy was all right.
"Guys! Some one just posted a video of Andy singing," Brian said. He walked over to them and they started to watch the video.
***********************************************************************
Andy was talking to Trey when her mom came up to her with a guitar. Andy shook her head, "I don't think so mom, now's not the right time."
"I think some music might help us," her mom said. Andy looked around and saw people looking at her expectedly. Her dad put a chair in the center of the living room and waited for her to sit down. She sighed and took off her hoodie and took the guitar from her mom. She sat down in the chair and started to tune the guitar.
At this point she didn't know what song to sing. What song do you sing at a time like this? She couldn't think of a song and everyone was waiting. Once the guitar was tuned she started to play a few cords and started to strum.
She did that for a few moments and then a song finally came to her. She did a few small vocal warm ups and started to play a melody.
"I can see it coming round full circle my friend.
On the TV they said they had reported you dead.
It was my fault 'cause I could've sworn that you said,
It was easy to find another for your bed
This was the only song she could think of at the moment. It was the same song she had on repeat when she found out about her other cousin three years ago. This song for some reason kept her going and it seemed to be the one that she needed in this moment.
How does it feel to leave me this way,
When all that you have's been lost in a day?
Everyone knows, but not what to say.
I've been wonderin' now.
She didn't even want to look around the room with all these people looking at her. Sure she could do an open mic night, but this was different. This was more intimate, more personal. She didn't even notice her sister's friends had their phones out recording her.
I've been staring at the hotel ceiling,
Drinking everything I've found this evening,
Trying to hold onto the sweetest feeling,
So I'll never let you go, don't you leave me lonely.
Start to see this, everyone I know cannot believe this.
Trying to hold onto the sweetest feeling,
So I'll never let you go, don't you leave me lonely now.
While she was singing she started to have flashes of her and Daniel sitting by a bon fire having a drink, playing catch with a football, out back smoking pot and laughing at stupid things in life, taking walks along the lake just to get away from some family drama.
When my eyes open, morning pulls me into the view, no
I guess I'm only acting in the way that you do.
Just being alone, no.
Only time tells me more than I hoped, all that I know is
I'll be fine in a fortnight, lo and behold,
I knew I shouldn't have let you go.
She blinked back the tears, she wanted to finish this song and she had to get through it. If not for her but for Daniel. She had to get through one more chorus.
I've been staring at the hotel ceiling,
Drinking everything I've found this evening,
Trying to hold onto the sweetest feeling,
So I'll never let you go, don't you leave me lonely.
Start to see this, everyone I know cannot believe this.
Trying to hold onto the sweetest feeling,
So I'll never let you go, don't you leave me lonely now.
The song was almost over and out of the corner of her eye she could see her sister between her parents with their arms around each other. She just wanted to join them but she had to get through this song. She could feel a tear escape her right eye but she just had the last two lines and it would be over.
I can see it coming round full circle, my friend.
On the TV they said they had reported you dead.
(Song and Lyrics by Rixton)
Everyone clapped as she finished. She didn't even say thank you she just put the guitar down and walked over to her family. They welcomed her with open arms. Her parents held their two girls close not wanting to let them go just yet. Right now that's what they needed was their comfort.
***************************************************************************
Lynn tossed and turned that night on the bus. She must have watched that video of Andy singing, then rushing over to her parents at least a dozen times. She wished she was there to just to be able to hold her and tell her everything was going to be okay.
She wished she could just hear her voice just to make sure that she's some what okay. She tried to call again and Andy didn't pick up. She sighed and put her phone down and looked up at the darkness from her bunk. Part of her wished she didn't leave when she did. The other part of her told that it was for the best, since it was such a fresh start to their some what of relationship.
She rubbed her face in her hands and let out a long sigh. She just wanted to hear Andy's voice, that's all she wanted. But she knew she had to respect Andy's privacy, especially now. She heard the curtains slightly move and she didn't have to see who it was.
Brian gently took her hand in his and he gave her a gentle squeeze. Alex was right next to him and he did the same thing.
"Come on," Brian said and she got out of her bunk still holding Brian's hand they walked to the couch on the bus and they all sat down. Alex grabbed a couple of blankets and put it around them. He and Brian wrapped their arms around Lynn.
"Guess I can take back that "who would I share a sleeping bag with" question," Brian said with a slight chuckle.
Lynn smiled and snuggled up to him and brought her arm around Alex and pulled him closer. She may not have Andy with her, but this was the next best thing. Having two of her favorite people in the world with her right now.
Brian and Alex saw their best friend like this before, when she and Alexa broke up. But never like this, this was different. They knew that the relationship with Andy was going to be different from get go. Ever since that night on their bus after the concert in Charlotte.
They didn't say anything about it, only because they didn't want her to become angry. They would wait it out and see what would happen. The two friends looked at each other as Lynn started to slowly drift off to sleep.
After waiting a few more minutes Alex finally spoke up, "At least she's not trying to hop on the next plane to go see her.".
Brian nodded, "You never know she might. But we have to make sure that doesn't happen. The tour is almost over just a few more weeks and we can go home in December. I'm sure Andy will get in touch before then. But right now Andy needs her family and friends that are there with her right now."
Alex nodded, Lynn shifted slightly and they both looked at her holding their breath to make sure she didn't wake up. Brian gave her a small squeeze to let her know he was there. As Alex wrapped his arm around her waist.
"I just don't want her to fall into that state of mind she had last year," he said.
"She was so lost and tired, I didn't know what to say or do. No matter what we did she was just hallow. Like a zombie but still coherent. But I am glad our Lynn is back." Alex said and kissed her cheek.
Brian nodded, "Yeah me too." He kissed the top of her head, and looked at the TV. Alex had put in another movie to get their minds of what was going on with their new friends. They just needed to stay focus on the tour and they also hoped Lynn would stay focused as well.
With the bus driving into the night the slight bumps and the soft rumble started to rock the two guys asleep. The three slept peacefully in each other's arms that night. Just seeking comfort in each other like that had many times before. It was this kind of bond that made them a stronger band and even have a stronger friendship. They would be going home soon, and that's what they had to look forward to.
***********************************************************************
Andy's dad pulled up to a house and they all got out of the car. They've made this trip so many times before but this time was different. They all stretched their muscles and were greeted by a man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He walked up to her dad and gave him a tight hug. Just then a woman with light brown highlights came right behind him and hugged Andy's mom.
Just right behind her three more people came out of the house. Two girls one with blonde hair and blue eyes made a bee line for Andy. The other with light brown hair walked up to Wendy. Just as a teenage boy walked up to Andy as well and hugged her along with the blonde girl already in her arms.
After a few moments everyone started to switch and gave everyone hugs. While the exchanges were going on two more cars pulled up to the house. Every one looked as the cars parked and an couple in their late fifties and an older man well into his early eighties started to walk up to the house.
Hugs were exchanged again and finally some one spoke up, "Let's go inside and talk about the next few days," The blonde hair man said. Every one nodded and started to make their way into the house.
Andy put her arms around the blond girl and the young man as they started to walk inside. It was good to see her cousins again. They grew up with her and they looked up to her. She had to be strong for them and she knew it was hard but she knew she had to do it.
Her family lost so much in a short amount of time, her grandmother, her cousin and now her step cousin. All which happened in the last seven years and just when she thought it would stop this happened.
Once they were inside everyone took a seat in the living room and waited for some one to start talking. "How about the kids go to the back yard and we'll all talk," the blonde man said.
"Still kicking the kids out, huh Uncle Chris," Andy said with a small chuckle and every one chuckled as well.
"You know me all to well Andrea. Just like always. But we'll fill you in when we have more details," he said. Andy, Wendy and their cousins stood up and walked out to the back yard and took a seat around the table that was out there.
It wasn't long until every one but Andy lit up a cigarette. Instead she had a small box type looking thing and pressed a button and inhaled. She exhaled and a big cloud of smoke came out of her mouth.
"Holy shit! When did you quit smoking?" The younger man asked.
"After my ACL surgeries, got tired of cigarettes. Maybe you should quit too Addy," she said looking at her cousin. Just then Andy's phone went off. She looked at the name and hit "decline" she couldn't talk to her right now. She was with her family and hopefully she would understand.
"Who was that?" The blonde girl asked.
Andy shook her head, "No one important. Besides I told all my friends that I'm not going to be on my phone this week."
"What Andy means to say Kayla" Wendy started to say, "Is that she's been ignoring a girl's call and text. Not just any girl either. Lynn Gunn." Kayla looked at Andy with wide eyes.
"You're joking?" She said still looking at Andy. The other girl looked confused.
"Who's Lynn Gunn?" She asked.
"Britt how do you NOT know Lynn Gunn?" The brown hair girl shrugged at Kayla's question.
Kayla went on to explain who Lynn was and the band she was in. Andy couldn't help but smile at her cousin lighting up about explaining everything. She looked over at Brittney and smiled. Her step cousin looked back at her and just winked.
"And that's who she is," Kayla said sitting back in her chair.
"Why haven't you answered her call or texts?" Wendy asked.
Andy shrugged, "Well she follows me on my social media profiles and she's liked my posts. I'm sure she's seen what's been going on. But we're not here to talk about my life." She said with a wave of her hand, "How are y'all doing?"
**********************************************************
"Hello?" Ethan answered in a groggy voice. It was three in the morning and his phone was going off. Normally he would let it go to voicemail, but this was the sixth time in the last thirty minutes it went off. He knew it wasn't Andy since she said she wasn't going to be on her phone for about a week while she was with her family in Georgia.
"Hey Ethan, it's Lynn," the other voice said.
He sat up in bed and turned on his bed side lamp and rubbed his eyes. He sighed and looked at the time on his alarm clock it read 3:03 in bright red.
"Lynn it's three in the morning," he said with a groan.
"I know, I'm sorry, but I'm just worried about Andy. She hasn't been answering my calls or texts. I know her profile said that she was going to be away from her phone for a while. But I just wanted to make sure she's okay," he heard. He sighed again, he could hear the worry in her voice and he wouldn't be able to get off the phone unless he told her.
"Andy's okay, she's in Georgia with her family. There's been a death in her family with some one she was close to. I'm sure she'll get in touch with you. But as of right now she needs to be with her family."
There was silence on the phone, Ethan waited a couple of minutes before he started up again, "Look, just focus on the rest of your tour and you'll see each other on December 13th, when you come back. I'm sure her family will tag her in posts and pictures while she's down there. Just give her time."
"Okay, I just got worried because it's been almost two weeks and I haven't heard anything."
"But you keep up with her on social media?"
"Yeah, I do. I went into stalker mode the other night and realized I ended up on her Aunt's profile," she said with a small laugh.
"Well, there you go. She'll be active some how. But as for calls and texts she'll call you or text you. She's gonna be short with you, but don't let that bother you, because she did to us the last time she had a death in the family."
"Short? What do you mean short?"
"One word answers, or a short sentences. It's her way of saying that she's fine and that she's okay. Just don't take anything personal. Her words will sound cold and harsh, but that'll last for about a week or so. Then, she'll be back to her normal self. I've seen her do this at least twice. Just have patience, and she'll come back around."
"Thanks, Ethan. I'll let her be with her family, and let her reach out to me first. Like I said I was worried because it's been two weeks and nothing. But if you hear anything can you let me know?"
"Yeah, I'll give you a call. Now, go out there and touch those lives like you've done the last three years," he said with a small smile.
Lynn couldn't help but smile at what he said, "Thanks Ethan, I'll talk to you later."
"Bye Lynn, give Brian and Alex my love. Especially Alex," he said with a smile.
"Will do, bye Ethan see you in December," she said and hung up her phone.
Ethan smiled and hung up his phone. He went to his messages and started to type a text.
"Hey buddy, you need to let Lynn know you're okay. She just called me. Just a simple text will put her mind at ease."
He hit "Send" and put it back on his night stand and turned off his lamp. He turned over in his bed and restarted the movie the he fell asleep to. He let out a deep breath and within minutes he was asleep.

Lynn sighed as she looked at her phone. The conversation with Ethan made her feel a little bit better.
She looked up and saw Alex walking up to her, "Hey, everything okay?" He asked as he put his arm around her.
She nodded, "Just got off the phone with Ethan. He sends his love. Especially to you," she said with a smirk. Alex couldn't help but laugh.
Brian walked up to them, "What's so funny?"
Alex waved his hand, "Ethan sends his love to us but especially to me, is all."
"Told you man, dude has it bad for you," Brian playfully punched his friend in the arm.
Alex just shook his head, "So why were you on the phone with Ethan?"
"I just wanted to know if Andy was okay. I haven't heard anything in two weeks and I was worried. He said that there was a death in her family and it was some one that she was close to," she explained.
Both Alex and Brian started to talk at the same time. Asking if she was okay, or if she needed anything.
Lynn put up her hands to quiet them down, "According to Ethan, she's okay. She's in Georgia with her family. He said that she's going to be short with me, but that's how she tells people she's okay." Just as she finished telling them about her conversation with Ethan her phone vibrated twice.
She looked at and saw that she had a new text message, she opened it up and smiled.
"I'm okay. With family. Talk soon."
Alex and Brian looked at her then looked at each other. They both smiled and knew that she finally got into contact with Andy.
They put their arms around her and smiled, "Come on let's get some food, I'm starving." Alex said and they all started to walk out of the venue arm and arm with each other.
"How are you always hungry?" Lynn asked. Alex just shrugged and smiled.
"Trust me I've been asking that for the last five years," Brian said as they got into a car and told the driver where they wanted to go. This would be a long last leg of the tour but they knew in the end it would be worth it.

Andy closed her eyes and took in a deep breath and let it out. She felt the sun on her face. She could feel the slight brisk breeze coming through the changing of the leaves. She opened her eyes and looked out onto the lake.
This was the lake her and Daniel would go to just to get away from family drama. Especially during the election. This was their escape. They would talk movies, girls, music, the last thing they talked about was over the phone was how Lynn got her number.
The last thing they said to each other was that they loved each other and that they would see each other soon. Since he was planning on coming up for Thanksgiving. It would have been their first one together, since her Uncle married his mom.
At first the two didn't really talk, but then they started to talk video games. Then, they became friends, then became family. Andy had a special place in her heart for her Uncle's first wife, only because she grew up with her.
When her Uncle remarried she wasn't sure about her. But she did give her the benefit of the doubt. Her kids were great Brittany and Daniel. It took some getting used to at first, but all six kids started to hang out more and kept in contact.
Kayla and Ayden were from her Uncle's first marriage and they grew up together. It was always her, Wendy, Kayla and Addy. Then, along came Brittany and Daniel. For a long time the Andy couldn't welcome the new people into her family.
But it was her love of video games and her college team that got them to talk. Over the years the six of them would meet up and go on adventures and keep in contact. When Brittany became pregnant, Andy and Wendy took a trip down to see the new addition to their family.
That day was an amazing day to welcome Trevor to the world. Trevor. Andy shook her head, the little guy was only two and he lost his Uncle. She started to think about moving down here anyway. Maybe now's the time to move down here and help Brittany with Trevor.
Maybe this was meant to be. Maybe Georgia was where she was supposed to be after all. Maybe now's the time for her to make a change. Maybe now is the time to finally make Georgia her home. Her dad was from here and he grew up here. Growing up, they would take road trips here to visit her family. Georgia would always be her home no matter where she ended up.
She was brought out of her thoughts when she heard a little giggle. She turned around and saw Brittany coming down the small hill with Trevor in his stroller. Andy stood up and waited for them to come to her. She smiled as she looked at the little two year old with soft golden hair and dark blue eyes. He looked up at her and laughed and gestured with his arms for her to pick her up.
"Hold on little guy," she said as she started to unbuckle his strap. She picked him up and gave him a hug and held him in his arms. She took her other arm and wrapped it around Brittany and kissed her temple.
"I remember seeing you guys down here a lot. Even when you guys didn't come down he would come down here and talk to you on the phone. Just to catch up. I always wondered what got you two to start talking. Then, I saw you two playing Assassin's Creed in his room and I knew."
"And then, with you it was about the Bulldawgs," Andy said with a smile.
"Yeah that talk about Stanford and the defense really got that ball rolling," she said with a small laugh.
Andy looked at Trevor and smiled. He had his head on her shoulder and his arms wrapped around her. He kissed the top of his head and he moved slightly.
"Somebody missed his Aunt Andy," Brittany said as she took out her phone. In that moment Trevor turned his head around and the three of them looked into her camera and she took a couple of pictures of them.
"I'm supposed to tell you that dinner is ready," she said with a laugh. Andy laughed and started to put Trevor back into his stroller but he struggled and held on tight to Andy.
"Okay, okay, okay, buddy I got ya," she said and Brittany started to push the stroller.
"I told you, he missed you." Andy smiled and put her arm around her step cousin as they started to make their way back up to the house.
Once they were inside the house, it was bustling with friends and family. Music was playing, food was being put on the tables, and people were having a good time. They were trading stories of Daniel and catching up with each other.
It always amazed Andy that people always came together in tragedy. But it also meant that these people would always be there for them no matter what. Andy tried to set Trevor down but he still wouldn't let of her. She just laughed and switched arms since her other arm was getting tired.
"I swear this kid won't let go of me the entire time we're here," she said as Kayla came up to her and handed her a drink.
"Here you go, your favorite," she said.
Andy took a drink and closed her eyes as she felt the cold liquid go down her throat, "Jack and coke with a hint of cherry. Thanks cuzo. Glad to know we have an amazing bartender in the family."
Kayla smiled and gave her a hug. Andy hugged back as best she could with a drink and a two year old in her hands. Just then Addy, Wendy, and Brittany joined them. The "kids" started to talk about Daniel in a cheerful way.
Andy felt her phone go off again but ignored it. Because this was her time with family. She received the text from Ethan about Lynn. So she sent Lynn a text to let her know she was safe and okay. She wished she could see Lynn, and have her in her arms, and have her tell her that everything was going to be okay.
But it was still new and if she's being honest she thought about Lynn the entire time she was gone. She wanted nothing more than to have her hear voice now. In the end she would see Lynn in December when they would come back. She planned on staying up there all for a couple of weeks or so and then go back home.
They made a plan to meet in the middle during New Years Eve. That was when they would decide what they would become.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Addy asked bringing Andy back to reality.
"Sorry just thinking about the next couple of months," she said and Trevor started to wiggle in her arms again. She tried to put him down but he fussed and refused.
"I guess he's hungry," She said and they walked to the kitchen. Everyone was already in there and her dad got everyone's attention. They all held hands and bowed their heads as he led a small prayer.
Once the prayer was said they all started a line and to get food. Brittany helped Andy with a plate and put some things on it that Trevor would like too.
Once they all got their food the "kids" went outside and the "adults" stayed inside.
"Nothing changes huh?," Andy said as she sat down at the head of the table with Trevor in her lap. He looked at her plate and started to dig right in.
"Well don't mind if you do," she said with a laugh and everyone looked up and saw what she was talking about. They all talked, ate, laughed, drank, and loved. Andy's mom saw this from the back door window and decided to go and take a few pictures.
She walked outside and took out her phone and clicked on the camera. She told them to get together. Andy tried to give Trevor back to Brittany but he fussed again and Brittany just laughed. Andy's mom took a few pictures and then Brittany's mom came out and started to do the same thing.
Then, their grandfather came out and the two moms told him to go sit with his grandchildren. He smiled and walked over to them. Andy got up so he could sit down. The two moms started to take more pictures and when they thought they were done, some one else came out with Andy's dad and her Uncle. Along with Andy's other Uncle and his wife.
"Come on, all of you get over there and I'll take some more pictures." The guy said.
"Thanks Art," Kevin said and the grown ups walked over to the their kids. Once they were all set up he started to take some more pictures.
"Okay, who's up for a bon fire?" Chris asked and every agreed.
"Brittany and I gotta take care of Trevor for a few minutes. He's latched onto me and won't let go," Andy said with a chuckle and she and Brittany started to go inside the house so they could change Trevor.
"I really hope this kid let's go soon," she said and Brittany just laughed.

"VIENNA! YOU'RE AMAZING! THANK YOU!" Lynn said into the microphone. Again they rushed off the stage after their encore. Again their tour manger said how they had a great show. Again they were escorted to their bus.
It was the same routine over and over again. But this time Lynn couldn't wait to get on the bus to check her phone to see if Andy reached out to her. Once on the bus, they changed from their stage clothes to more comfortable clothes and Alex again started to look for a movie.
Lynn sat on the couch and pulled out her phone and the first thing she noticed was that she had a lot of notifications with Andy's name.
She started to scroll through the pictures and saw Andy with a little boy and another girl with her arm wrapped around her. She felt a small pang of jealousy until she read the caption, "Someone missed Aunt Andy."
Then, other pictures with of her and the same girl was in the picture and Andy was still holding the toddler. The captions were all about how nice it was to have family around, and how much love was in the air.
She clicked on the girls name and started to see posts about how she lost her brother and there was a picture of Andy, the girl and a guy.
"I can't believe your gone. I'll never forget the times playing video games in your room, our walks around the lake, and our drunken nights by the bon fires. I love you and miss you Daniel. I hope you rest easy cuzo."
It was posted from "Andy's pictures."
"Lynn stop stalking her," Brian said in a tone that sounded like a parent was telling their child to stop whatever it was they were doing.
"I'm sorry, but I just had to see if she was okay."
Brian was also looking at the same pictures Lynn was looking at, "Look, she's with her family I'm sure she's having a good time. I mean just from the look of these pictures she's smiling and she's holding a really cute kid. I mean come on, she's good."
Lynn nodded, "Why is this bothering me so much?"
"It might because you're having some sort of trust issue because of Alexa. Also, let me point out that you two aren't even dating." Alex said as he grabbed a DVD and started to turn on the TV and the DVD player.
"It's all fresh and new, plus she's not the type you normally go for anyway. She's older, more experienced," Alex started to list off some things.
"Looks like a dude," Brian piped in, still looking at his phone and next thing he knew he was hit with a throw pillow. He looked up at her and raised his shoulders, "What?! It's true! When I first saw her I thought she was a dude!"
Lynn just smiled and shook her head. She looked down at her phone and it started to go off. She jumped up and answered it as she ran towards the back of the bus.
"Andy," Brian and Alex said together as they got comfortable and started to watch the movie.
"Hey!" Lynn said with a big smile as she saw Andy's face and then she heard a giggle in the background.
"Hey you!" Andy said with a big goofy grin.
"Are you drunk?"
Andy put her finger to her lips and shook her head, then started to laugh, "Okay maybe just a little bit," she said putting her index finger and thumb together and brought them close to her eye.
Lynn then saw the girl from the pictures and heard Andy say, "Give it back!"
"Hi! Are you Lynn?" she said while slurring her words. Lynn just laughed and nodded.
"Wow! You're much prettier than the others!"
"BRITTANY!"
Lynn heard in the background. Then some one else grabbed the phone and now she was looking at a girl with blond hair and blues eyes.
"OH MY GOD! I thought my cousin was lying! It's really you! Are Alex and Brian with you?!" Kayla asked.
"Yeah they're on the other side, wanna say 'hi'?" Lynn asked as the other girl was nodding her head.
Lynn walked back out and sat down between Brian and Alex and Kayla squealed, "OH MY GOD! ALEX! BRIAN! I LOVE YOU!"
Brian and Alex laughed and waved at Kayla.
"OH MY GOD KAYLA! Give me my phone back!" Before Andy could get her phone back Lynn, Brian, and Alex were now looking at a younger guy.
"Hey guys, Andy's cousin Addy here. Just gotta say I don't know who you are but my cousin likes ya so that's cool. Also Lynn my cousin REALLY likes you. Hasn't stopped talking about you since she got here."
"AYDEN!" Lynn could hear Andy's voice in the background. Just then there was some one else, it was the girl that was in a lot of pictures with Andy.
"Hey guys, I also don't know who you are, but I'm Andrea's little sister. She loves you guys. Ever since she saw you in Norfolk. Also Lynn you need to tell her to shut up about you. Because she won't."
"Hey don't worry we tell Lynn to do the same thing. She won't shut up about Andy." Alex said and Brian started to laugh.
There was a commotion and Andy's face appeared again.
"Hey guys, I'm so sorry about MY FAMILY!"
The three laughed, "What time is it there?" Alex asked.
"Oh I don't know like five something. We've been drinking since dinner, but heavily the last four hours or so."
"Hey we're truly sorry for your loss." Brian said.
"Yeah, you have our thoughts with you." Alex said.
"Wish we could be there," Lynn said in a small voice.
Andy sighed, "Thank you guys, I wish you could be here too. But we'll see each other soon. I just wanted to call and let you guys know that I'm okay. I'm here with my family and everything is okay. Tomorrow is the service and then after that we're heading back." She explained.
"Hey guys do you think I could talk to Lynn for a second?" She asked. The two guys nodded and got up and walked towards the back of their bus.
"You got me alone, what's up?" Lynn asked with a small smile.
Andy smiled and looked at her, "Um I just wanted to talk about that kiss. We never really had a chance to really talk about it."
Lynn looked at her confused, "Was I not supposed to kiss you?"
"Oh no, no, I mean, I was just surprised is all. It happened so fast and I just wanted to tell you that I can't wait to kiss you again," she said with a small blush.
Lynn smiled and bit her bottom lip, "Okay you can't do that around me," Andy said as she was pointing at her.
"What are you talking about?"
"You smiled and then bit your lip! I'm a little drunk and what you just did, was just, grr, I don't know, but it just makes me want you even more. So finish up your tour, come home to me, and you and I will have a few days of never leaving the bedroom."
Lynn couldn't help but blush even more. Even though Andy was a little drunk she really hoped she remembered this conversation.
"Well, I will hold you to that Andrea," Lynn said still smiling and blushing.
Andy smiled a goofy grin, "Okay well I gotta get back there, but I miss you and I can't wait to see you next month," she blew a kiss and Lynn blew one right back.
"Bye," Lynn said with a smile and waited for Andy to hang up.
"Bye baby," Andy said and hung up her phone.
Lynn squealed and laid down on the couch as Alex and Brian came rushing over to her.
"No, no, no," Brian said as Lynn tried to cover her face with a blanket.
"We need the details! We heard some of it, but what's this about you two not leaving the bedroom?!" Alex said with a laugh helping Brian take the blanket from Lynn.
Once the blanket was finally off of her they sat her up and they each took a seat next to her and waited for her to tell them details. She covered her face in her hands and squealed again.
"I'll get the wine," Alex said getting up.
"I'll get the glasses," Brian said getting up as well.
Lynn sat back up bitting her bottom lip to keep herself from smiling. She couldn't believe what Andy just said about not leaving the bedroom. Then again Andy was a little drunk. Part of her wishes she would remember the conversation the other part wishes she wouldn't.
Alex and Brian came back over to her and Alex started to pour them a glass of wine each.
"Okay time to spill," he said as he gave her a glass of wine. He gave one to Brian and then took hold of his own glass. The two got comfortable and waited for her to start talking. Lynn took a deep breath and let it out. She smiled and started to talk about everything.
