Carrie watched as Kelly fixed her hair once again, the young blonde thought that if Kelly played with her hair anymore it would fall out.

"Baby? "Carrie whispered hoping the others in the waiting room didn’t hear her.

"Yeah."

"Stop being so nervous ok....."

"I’m trying.... I really am but...."

"But nothing......its just another scan....just like the rest of them...."Carrie understood why Kelly was so nervous it was the day they would find out if the baby was a boy or girl they both said it didn’t matter what it was but secretly both wanted it to be a girl, oddly for different reasons. Carrie wanted a girl to dress up play tea parties with and just get hugs she knew she wouldn’t get from a boy. Kelly wanted a girl cause she really didn’t think she could raise a boy to be a man, the only real man in her life was Jason and even he wasn’t good at being that much of a man lately. He had been ignoring any calls Kelly made to him, she knew he was having a hard time with her and Carrie being a couple but she had hoped he would come round by now. Even ashley was avoiding her these days, deciding to spend all her time in la instead of Jeannes house. sure they spoke almost every day but Kelly knew their relationship was suffering, sadly she could do anything about it at the moment all her time was taken up with Carrie and the baby. Carrie was now19 weeks along and things were getting a little tense, the young blonde couldn’t look in the mirror without crying cause she felt she was putting on so much weight. Kelly couldn’t see it, to her Carrie was still as gorgeous as ever. Sure she had put on a lot of weight but all that was baby and with her mothers cooking it was going to happen. Jeanne had told Kelly that Carrie had been putting on more weight that normal but the young Texan was to afraid to tell her girlfriend that, instead she told her it was all normal hoping she could live to see another day.

"Kelly...."Carrie tried her best not to whisper as she brought Kelly out of her thoughts.

"yeah baby."

"Those people are watching us." Kelly looked round seeing three sets of couples all with their eyes glued to the pair.

"Just smile and ignore them." Kelly placed her hand over carries giving the girl a tight squeeze.

"They know who we are."

"Of course they do.....but they don’t seem to be threatening us so ignore them..." Kelly had surprised herself by adjusting to things so quickly. it had been weeks since Carrie’s parents had outed them and even though they had spend most of the time in Jeanne’s house things hadn’t changed so much. They had gotten a few odd looks from some people in the supermarket and been followed around town by one or two photographers but most of the time people had been friendly and supportive of them. Carrie hadn’t coped so well she was so on edge whenever she was out the house that she had only been out when Kelly or Jeanne dragged her out. Jeanne had put it down to her being pregnant. Her feelings were all over the place.

"Carrie Underwood....the doctor will see you now." Kelly smiled towards the lady behind the desk before taking carries hand and leading her towards the doctors room. After getting Carrie up onto the exam table which was starting to get a little difficult to do each time, Carrie really couldn’t hold her weight in her arms to pull herself up so Kelly had been doing most of it for her. She didn’t have the heart to tell the young blonde how hard to was and how the last time it took her two days before the pain in her arm went away.

"So exited to see what you’re having."The female doctor had been great through to whole thing, She too had to deal with reporters and question upon question after people found out she was the one treating them. Thankfully she had been loyal and said no comment each time. Hooking up the machine and doing all the usual things to Carrie the doctor began her examination. After a few moments of staring at the scene she pulled away before picking up the phone on the wall. Carrie looked to Kelly with a panic look on her face.

"Kel what’s wrong.....what’s she doing." Kelly could hear the panic in her voice.

"baby stay calm i don’t know." Kelly tried calming Carrie down while trying to listen to what the doctor was saying, she couldn’t make out the words .Turning back to the singers the doctor smiled weakly.

"I need you both to stay here a few moments........I’m just going to ask Dr Giles to come in." With that the doctor left the room leaving the girls alone. Kelly could feel her throat dry up as she felt carries hand grip onto her hand.
