Everlasting Love(Pt41)
5 months later....
Joe dropped the bag of golf clubs on the grass, dumping the balls a short distance away, then pulled a club from the bag. Separating a ball from the pile, he swung back and whacked it, it disappeared into the dark.
“How many balls do you suppose are out there?” Sav asked from where he was reclining in the grass.
“I don’t know…couple thousand maybe.” Joe hit another ball.
“A thousand Joe.” Sav chuckled.
“Ok, maybe a hundred.”
“You’re keeping the company in business buying that many.”
”I did make Nick go fetch them for me once.”
“I bet that was funny, would like to have seen that.”
“It was.” Joe hit another one. “He refused to do it again though. Something about he’s not my go-fer.”
“I’m surprised he did it at all.”
“Surprised me too. I laughed the whole time he was out in the woods, grumbling and tripping over branches.” Joe giggled, hitting again.
Sav eyed him closely, his body language telling him everything. “It’s a great way to get rid of the frustration your feeling.”
“Frustration.” Joe turned his puzzling gaze toward him. “What do you mean?”
”Its in every move you make, every line on your face. I can see and feel it.”
Joe swung at another ball, “I don’t know what you’re taking about.” .
“Although it’s not as bad since the week were it was just the two of us. Once everyone got back, some of the strain was taken off of you. You didn’t have to do as much to take care of me.”
“Taking care of you has never been a problem.”
“Then what has been the problem?” Sav knew what it was before he even asked. He just wanted to see if Joe would tell him first.
Joe positioned another ball, shrugging his shoulders before he swung at it. He immediately lined up another one, sending it into the trees, avoiding the question.
“I want it to Joe.” Sav said softly.
Joe lined up another ball, getting ready to swing at it. “What is it you want?”
“I want to be with you again.” Sav whispered as Joe swung the club at the ball, it slipped from his hands and sailed threw the night air. “How many of those are out there?” he looked back at Joe to see him staring at him.
“Um…I..I don’t…what did you say?”
“How many golf clubs are…?”
”No…no the other part?”
“I want to be with you.”
“But y..you are with me, have been for a while now.”
Sav titled his head a bit, a small smile touched his lips. “Not in that way. I want you to make love to me, like we use to.”
Joe tore his eyes away, looking every where but at Sav. He quickly grabbed another club and swung at the pile of balls. “Don’t tease me Rick. I know you’re not ready for that. You’ve just started walking without the use of that cane, something like that could…besides, you haven’t taken my blood yet and we don’t know what it will do.”
“I’m tired of waiting.” Sav started. “I want to feel that again, to feel your touch, your love. I’m willing to take that chance of what your blood will do when I take it after all this time.”
Joe was pushing a ball around on the ground, refusing to look at Sav, so he wouldn’t see the desire in his eyes and the doubt of what he was asking. “I..I don’t know.”
“I do.” Sav whispered close to him. Gentle pulling his head up with his finger, he stared into those green eyes, running his thumb softly over his lips, then dropping his eyes there. Stepping closer, mere inches between them. Sav leaned his head closer, brushing Joe’s mouth. “I want you, more than ever.” Closing the distance, Sav covered his lips in gentle touch, probing his tongue to get at what awaited him. Snaking his free arm around Joe to pull him closer, titling his head sideways, Sav deepened the kiss.
Joe responded to him, wrapping his arms around Sav’s waist, the taste of him fanning the fires of desire. Joe pulled back long enough to rip the buttons open on Sav’s shirt, exposing the smooth skin underneath. Joe roughly ran his hand upward, and diving for his throat.
Seconds later Sav was on his back in the cold grass, helping Joe pull his shirt over his head. Mouths fused together again, trembling fingers worked at the buttons on their pants. Laying his weight down on Sav, Joe went for his neck, grinding his hips down.
Sav shoved his hands insides Joe’s pants, digging his fingers into the tight muscles. A soft moan played on his lips as Joe made his way across his shoulder and back again to crush his mouth. Teeth scraped together as Joe’s urgent desire burned out of control for the man lying beneath him, his fingers dug painfully into the soft flesh of Sav’s chest, causing him to flinch away.
In Joe’s sexual hazed mind, he felt him jerk away, fighting with his body, he dragged himself away, pushing up to his arms and straddled his legs. He glanced at the rapid rise and fall of Sav’s chest as he sucked in air and to where the light bruises were already appearing.
“Why did you stop?” Sav reached for him.
Joe shook the fog from his mind. “I…I can’t…” he squeaked out, grabbing his shirt Joe flew across the lawn into the darkness.
“Joe wait!” Sav twisted around calling after him. “Damnit.” he growled, flopping back down in the grass. “What the hell did I do wrong?” he mumbled. He lay there staring up at the vast starry sky, crickets chirping in the grass all around him. Sav let his mind wonder, to make sense out of what just happened, to make Joe leave so fast. He saw the raw desire in his eyes, so that couldn’t be it. Joe wanted him just as bad, that much he knew.
“Trouble in paradise?”
“aahhh!!” Sav nearly jumped out of his skin from Nick’s voice. “Why the hell do you do that Nick, scared me half to death.” Sav pushed up to a sitting position, running his fingers through his hair. “How long have you been hiding in the shadows?”
“Hum...right after the two of you came out here.”
“Soo like you to hide, spy on us. I know you’re up to something, what is it?”
“Nothing, I assure you.”
“Bullshit.” Sav struggle to stand. Nick took his arm and helped him up. Sav pushed him away. “I know you better than that. We may not have that bond anymore, but I can see that you are.”
“Contrary to what you may believe or think. The something is nothing.” Nick replied as he straightened Sav’s shirt.
“Joe!” Sav yelled at him.
“What about Joseph?”
”You were there for him, for his urgent needs, gave him what he wanted. You’ve managed to turn him against me in the time I was away.”
”I did no such thing.” Nick scoffed.
“Liar.” Sav hissed in his face. “Joe has never turned me down like he did tonight. You…” Sav poked him in the chest with his finger. “..had something to do with it.”
“No…” Nick grasped his hand lightly, pulling it away from his chest. “…I did not. I was there for him, took care of him like I promised you. His love for you has never diminished, it’s as strong as ever, if not more.”
Sav voice took on a softer tone. “Then why did he fly away from something we both want, both crave so bad it hurts?”
Holding Sav’s pained gaze. “Joseph is very upset right now, fighting his emotions, he’s afraid of them.”
“Why?”
“Your bond with him was severed. You can’t feel him like I do.”
“I know that.” Sav shot back. “I can’t feel you either, not even this close, but that’s doesn’t tell me anything Nick. What is Joe afraid of?”
Nick reached up and caressed his face. “Search your mind, to a time long ago, you will find the answer.”
Sav slapped his hand away. “Stop playing mind games, just tell me.”
“I remember a time when I felt the same thing from you as I’m feeling from Joe.”
”Mind games Nick, stop it!” Sav growled.
“Think back to times you fought yourself. Your raging desire to have Joe, of how frightened you were to carry it too far. That intense desire nearly drove you mad.”
“But it…its different now.”
Nick darted his eyes past Sav. “Joe is dealing with those same emotions as you did. He’s afraid of hurting you again. He still feels guilty about what happened that night...” Nick lightly traced his finger over the bruise on his chest. “…and this.”
Sav glanced down. “But I told him it was alright, not to worry about that night, it doesn’t matter.”
“Is guilt that easy to push away Richard?”
Sav snapped his head back up, then quickly looked away again. “No, I guess not.”
“Now…” Nick hooked his finger under his chin, to turn Sav’s gaze back to his. “…get that silly notion out of your head that I’m ‘up to something’ because I’m not. I just want what is best for you and Joseph and that…” Nick suddenly kissed him. “…is each other.”
“You’re not trying to tear us apart, to get me back like before?”
Nick smiled warmly in the darkness. “No…” taking his arm, he gently turned Sav around. “…pushing you two together, where you belong. We can still have our times together, but…” Placing his lips close to Sav’s ear he whispered. “…I never could compete with Joe.” kissing him softly on the cheek, Nick backed away, blending into the shadows once again.
Joe made the first move, cautious steps took him closer. His eyes dropped to the bruises, then his fingers ran over them in much the same manner as Nick’s did. Tears pricked in his eyes for hurting Sav like this. “I did this….didn’t mean too, I’m sor…”
Sav placed his fingers over his mouth stopping his words. “It doesn’t hurt at all and will heal.”
”But I…” Joe turned tear filled eyes upward.
“Shhh…it’s alright. I understand…” Sav pulled him to his chest, holding him tight. “….I know what you’re feeling.”
Joe clang to him. “It’s never going to be right between us again, is it?”
“Don’t say that, it will...” Sav leaned back, holding Joe’s face between his hands. “…it will, a little more patients is all we need.”
Joe groaned, pulling Sav hard against him. “I don’t have any of that left.”
Sav vigorously rubbed his back, helping to calm him. “Well you better Mr. Elliott, cause if you don’t, I’ll never survive your lusty, raging sexual assault. I’ll be a wimpy, limpy noodle of a body.”
Joe had his face in the croak of Sav neck, it muffled his chuckle at Sav’s attempt to lighten the mood. “Fuck you Mr. Savage.”
“Now you’re talking, please do just that.”
Joe quickly sobered. “Y…you still want to after th…”
”Hell yes.” Sav pushed him away. “We just have to find something to help you relax…and me.”
“But…” Joe started and Sav’s silenced him, taking his mouth in a searing kiss. He pulled away and held Joe’s eyes. “Come on, I know just the thing to help us.” Taking his hand Sav pulled him toward the house.
