“Pavement?” Gerard asked, turning the car around toward the mall.
”Nope” Matthew responded proudly. Together they had been assigned to collect the girls who had gone out shopping. Left alone with a baby and nothing to do they had been driving around for a few hours and had now set off to find their woman.
”Panda?”
”Where do you see a Panda Gerard? Please tell me” Matthew exploded, “This is why I never play games with you, because you are stupid”
Gerard laughed, “Ok then pensioner?”
”No. Forget it, it was pavement”
”I said that!!! See you cheat”
”Yeah but I wanted to see just how stupid your guesses would get, I think Panda tops it. Are we there yet?”
Gerard shook his head and opened his window a little, breathing in the hot New York air. “Another few minutes, provided we don’t hit traffic. Matthew what’s that small?”
”Don’t look at me, I admit to mine”
Both men turned to look at Matthews son, who was gurgling with a huge smile on his face. Within minutes Gerard had pulled over and was now outside gasping for air. “Get it out of my car, dear god. Right well go on daddy clean that up”
”I think its time you bonded with your nephew Ger, go on now, he loves you more than me”
”Mate I cant even clean up the cat litter, forget it”
Gerard stood leaning against the side of the car while Matthew went into a restaurant to use the baby facilities, lighting up he had a crafty cigarette while waiting and thought of the auditions he was about to take. Months after the rumours he still hadn’t been offered Bond. According to Doug the film wasn’t even in talks, so he wasn’t out of the picture. A few interviews were lined up still surrounding his last film, and Jade. That was pretty much all they were interested in until he got a new film.
Doug mentioned he had found a load of fan websites and that there was a few fan conventions being held around the place and he decided if he was near one he would drop in and surprise them. That could be fun, but Doug wouldn’t hear of it unless he took bodyguards with him. “Gerard man, your you! All it takes is one very horny woman to lock you away!” he insisted.
Glancing up and down the street Gerard wiped his brow, he loved New York but it was simply too bloody hot here. His poor mother had almost dehydrated the last few days, he had bought a new air conditioning unit and put it in her bedroom for her, but she was still uncomfortable. His family’s bags were half packed, as they were leaving tomorrow. Gerard had to admit he would be relieved, entertaining was so hard, he had no idea how his mother did it all the time. Jade had been a gem, cleaning and cooking but Gerard was missing privacy. IT was hard to want privacy with Jade and want to see his family; in his mind he knew what he had to do. Move to Scotland.

Gerard smiled as he saw his mother and jade walking toward him. Matthews’s wife was already in the car, fussing over her son.
”Don’t smile at him Linda” Gerard shouted, “You want to smell what that creature did in my car, he’s not human”
Jade shook her head and hugged him, “Yeah because you smell of roses”
”Alright lets have some decorum” Margaret intervened, “What a thing to discuss!”
”Well it wasn’t nice to smell” Gerard laughed, avoiding his mother swipes. Opening the boot he shoved all their bags in the back and waited for everyone to get in the car. While they had been here, Gerard had hired a huge family car. Sadly putting his convertible in the garage he had made do with this practical one, at least it fit everybody in.
”Did you have a good shop?” he asked absentmindedly trying to get out of the car park.
”I don’t know why he being al nice, usually he berates me for shopping Mags. I’m shouted at and then chased! He has started reading my bank statements you know”
The family laughed at the couple.
”Well” Gerard added, still trying to swerve away from other cars, “If you didn’t shop on the side, I wouldn’t have to. Will you move out the fucking way” he roared, raising his voice at the end.
”Gerard!” Margaret shouted. “Calm down”
”Calm down, he almost hit me. Prick, why do people allow dicks on the road”
Jade rolled her eyes, “Sorry everyone he gets awful road rage, he will be fine when we leave this car. Right home is it then?” Jade asked, laying her hand on Gerard’s knee.
Gerard turned to face her and grinned, “Yeah then tonight we are all out for a meal, I’ve arranged a babysitter for my smelly nephew and then tomorrow we are up and out early to catch a plane”
”A babysitter?” Jade queried, “Gerard you cant leave a baby with a cat!”
”I happen to think Tinky would do a fine job, but no Mike said he and Janice wont mind watching him. So everyone is happy!”

Once home everyone dived to the coffee machine at once and fought to be the first to pour his or her cup. Naturally Gerard won and sat at the table with a smug grin. Glancing over the newspaper he smiled as Tink jumped up on his lap and snuggled into him.
”Gerard, there’s a message for you from Doug” Jade called from the hallway, “Something about a premier next week, give him a call”
”Will do honey” Gerard yelled back, “I think he will be on about the Batman Premiere. I told Christian I would head over and check it out. Fancy it?”
”Why not” Jade laughed, heading up the stairs with her new clothes. “Mags do you want me to put your clothes in your room?”

So the afternoon was spent in a lazy haze of jokes and laughter. Sitting out in the garden with music playing everyone was content and satisfied.
”No I love it here, but I can’t wait to get home” Matthew laughed, “Seriously I cant wait to run in the rain. Its far too hot I don’t know how you guys stand it”
”Oh you get used to it, if you stroll round naked” Joked Gerard.
”No he does that” Jade laughed, walking to fetch more orange juice. “Right after this I need to get a shower and start getting ready, we are leaving here for 6 and its already 5”
Everyone glanced at their watches, “Shit” commented Matthew, Margaret shook her head, “Potty mouths both of them” Forgetting the orange juice, everyone headed to their rooms to shower and prepare. Linda walked over to Mikes with the baby and settled him down for the next few hours.
Alone at last Gerard lay down on the bed, pulling Jade on top of him. Jade smiled and snuggled into his chest; kissing his neck she whispered how much she loved him in his ears until he couldn’t stop beaming.
”Aww your blushing” Jade joked, lifting herself off him, “I’ll be ten minutes ok. Stay there I mean it,” Jade laughed heading toward the shower. Knowing for a fact he wasn’t going to do as she said, she could see the look in his eye even now as she closed the door on him.
Gerard waited a full minute before kicking the door open, “Don’t think so lass” he laughed. Pulling back the shower curtain he stared at her naked body and smiled.
”Soapy Jade is always fun” he muttered; so she could just bout hear it.
”Please go away,” she laughed, watching him strip, he never took his eyes from hers and he unbuttoned his top and ripped it from himself. Kicking off his shoes, his eyes stayed firmly on hers as he slowly unbuttoned his pants and let them drop to the floor. Jade could feel herself burning up watching him, stepping out of the shower she pulled down his boxers and led him to the shower. Kissing his body and pushing him against the wall, they smiled.
”We are liking the shower scene right now aren’t we?” he laughed.
”Yeah well it’s not like we can do the kitchen scene right now can we?” She laughed, nipping at one of his nipples.
”Ohhh please don’t” he groaned, “We really don’t have time”
”You don’t last that long” Jade laughed, raising an eyebrow at him. Gerard snarled, “I’ll show you missus” grabbing her he held her up against the wall and thrust into her.
”What do you want?” she whispered in his ear.
”You. Now” he growled, In response Jade gripped the walls and began grinding against him while he held her up. Throwing her head back she sighed with pleasure as he filled her again and again.
”Jade” he whispered, over and over as she rose and fell. Just as Jade felt her arms were going to snap he lifted her down and carried her out of the shower.
”Gerard” she groaned, “What are you doing?”
Gerard fell on top of her on the bed, “Legs hurt. Can’t do it. Oh jade” he cried, taking control and taking her there on the bed.
”Gerard shush, this has to be quiet” she giggled, “The water isn’t masking us now, oh god Gerard” she yelped. Their we bodies were soon dried on the bed sheets as they rolled around in ecstasy.

Margaret stood beaming as she looked around her small family. Gerard and Jade had taken the longest getting ready and had appeared, breathless. Gerard’s tie was wonky and both were blushing. Even now at the stairs, holding hands and whispering into each other’s ears, stood them. The look of joy of Gerard’s face was something Margaret had prayed to see before she left this world. Inside she felt safe and secure in the knowledge that Gerard would never be alone anymore. Turning her head the other way she glanced at Matthew and Linda, not quite as devoted to each other and Gerard and Jade, but they certainly loved each other. Margaret was surprised at just how in Love her sons were, they were very different in showing their affection in public and towards family members. Gerard was al over everybody he met, no more so than with Jade. Matthew was as funny and as loving but a little more reserved. Hearing the car beep outside she watched Gerard jump into action and lead everyone to the cars outside. They were eating in a very fancy restaurant tonight, Gerard’s goodbye.

Ordering champagne Gerard took control of the table and proposed a toast to his family and Jade.
”I’m not very good at this sort of thing. If I don’t have it written down I’m not sure whether I’m doing it right I suppose. All of you have helped me be where I am today. Mum you have always been there for me and I love you. Matthew you little git, I love you too. Never change. Where I am today, I never thought I would be. My career is great, my home is beautiful, my cat is a legend, and I have the most beautiful, talented, funny wife in the entire world. Jade my love for you know no boundaries and I want to thank you along with my family for helping me be this happy. I just love you all and I thank you for loving me too.”
Jade could feel everyone watching her, smiling she glanced at Margaret who had tears in her eyes. Lifting her drink she stood up beside Gerard and kissed his cheek. “To love” she raised her glass.
”To love” everyone repeated, clinking their glasses. Sitting down beside Gerard she kept one hand clasped firmly in his. The rest of the meal was wonderful as they drank and joked their way through 3 courses and a lot of alcohol. By the end of the night everyone was tired and full, so they headed home to their beds.
Jade held Gerard to her in bed and kissed him deeply. He was her everything.
