Chapter Forty-Six ~ My Prison.
~*~*~*~
When I woke up, the house felt…empty. I took a deep breath and climbed out of bed, and took a much needed shower then put my clothes on from last night and made my way down the stairs. It was still a little dark outside, the sun hadn’t quite appeared over the horizon yet, which told me that the kids hadn’t gotten up yet. Which allowed me enough time to fix some pancakes. By the time the kids had come downstairs, the table was set and I had the hotcakes sitting on the table.
“Good morning Crystal.” Prince said curtly. As he looked at the table and noticed only four plates. “Where’s dad?” “He left early this morning.” “Back to Ireland?” “Yes.” “I see. Are these for us?” “Yep. Dig in, they’re still hot I hope.” Paris came in followed by Blanket. “Where’s dad?” Prince had already begun eating. “Heesh in Ireland.” “What? Already? I’m going to miss him.” “I want daddy.” Blanket whined. “I know you guys, but your dad is a busy guy. He’s doing this for you guys.” “We know.” “Eat up you guys, before your food gets cold.” Yannick showed up at promptly 7:30 to take the kids to private school. He bid me a good morning as I walked the kids out to the SUV. “Don’t worry about being here after the kids get off from school. Grace will be here to greet them and take care of them.” “Okay…how am I going to get back to my place then?” “Glad you asked. Michael told me to give you these…keys to that Mustang you were looking at the other day.” Yannick said, digging in pocket and handing me a set of keys along with a note. “Delivered it yesterday while you were at Disney Land.” “Oh that’s wonderful.” “Yeah your out-of-state license should be good for another month or so. So feel free to drive it. From the note, it’s already insured as well. So no worries in that department either. Just don’t drive like a woman, all right?” Yannick joked, winking at me. “All right I promise, I won’t drive like a mad woman.” I said, taking the keys as the kids loaded up in the car. The kids had found their presents earlier after breakfast. All of them received the latest generation of the Amazon kindle. While I received a note saying to talk to Yannick when he pulled up. The kids were excited and brought their new kindles to school. While I bid a good day at school to the kids and walked over to the garage (with Yannick’s directions) and found my car. It was more amazing than I thought. When I stepped in, on the rear-view mirror, hung a silver diamond necklace shaped as a treble clef with a note attached to it. “Baby, I know that you will miss me so I hope this necklace will do the trick. Every time you think of me hold the necklace and know that I am always close to your heart. I love you with all that I am. Michael.” I quickly took the necklace and latched it around my neck before starting the car. All of my cd’s were on the visors of the car. I smiled and put in Michael’s Dangerous album and began singing to Jam. I headed back to my apartment and decided on taking a nap when I got there. After a short nap, I got up and hopped in the shower, the only thing I wore was the silver necklace and the engagement ring that Michael had given to me. I got dressed and settled on white rice with smart balance butter and salt and pepper, not very nutritious but it was on my diet regimen. After lunch, I was tinkering around on the piano, and there was a knock on the door. I smiled, and got up and answered the door to Ramona and her entourage, including Dr. Gaphely. Dr. Gaphley set her equipment up while a couple of women came in with bags and bags of clothes and food. One women was busy setting up a clothes rack while the other was going though my cupboards and fridge taking out the bad food and replacing it with healthier choices. I rolled my eyes briefly as Ramona came up to me and gave me a hug. “Michael called me from the airport this morning girl, how are you doing?” “Well good I guess, I miss him but he’s only been gone for a little over twelve hours…” “Well, I’ve been brainstorming an image for you, and I think you’re going to like it.” Ramona said as she began to pull some of the outfits from the bags. One I saw, was what looked to be a tight fitting leather outfit. I raised my eyebrow at her. “I call that one, your cat woman outfit.” “Cat woman? Oh no…” “What you don’t like?” “The whole cat woman thing…people have done that before…” “Oh I know, but won’t it be fun?” “Um…not really, I said I wanted to be tasteful…this? Isn’t. Where are my boobs supposed to fit in this thing. I’ll hardly be covered…” “Well you can’t really pick and choose in this kind of industry honey. I think Michael will like it…” I shook my head. I started to feel a bit overwhelmed with this sudden takeover of my life. “Michael wouldn’t want this. I don’t really want to be a sex symbol. I want to be known for my music, for who I am, not my image.” “But honey, image is everything in this industry. You need to act a certain way, talk a certain way or else you’ll drown. I’m here to prevent that from happening…” “I haven’t even begun writing for the album or anything…Michael wanted to focus on us first, planning the wedding and everything before we jumped into getting my career off the ground…not to mention Michael has his own album coming out next year and I’m sure he’ll want to head that up as well…” “Like I said, that’s why I’m here…Michael mentioned that you have a binder full of songs…perhaps after Monica gets done with you we can take a look and see which songs would work…I’ll be sure to contact some collaborators to help you…” “Okay…I still think this needs more fabric on it.” I said glancing at the leather ensemble once more before placing the tacky outfit back on the rack. Ramona nodded as she led me over to Dr. Gaphley. “Monica, she’s all yours.” Ramona said, her eyes meeting Monica’s then looked at me before joining the other women that were still sorting through the cupboards. After a barrage of measurements and a weigh-in it was concluded that I had lost 9.4 lbs. A little more than Dr. Gaphley would have liked, but she was happy that I weighed 137.8 lbs. “About another month you’ll be that size 6 you’ve been working so hard for. I’m going to up your caloric intake to 1700 calories I think so you’re not dropping the weight like you did this week…are you drinking plenty of fluids?” “I’m trying to.” I said, my eyes meeting hers. She nodded. “Good girl. Well, you can afford to indulge a little now. You did well, Crystal.” Monica said as she started packing up her things. By now, Ramona’s entourage had taken off and Ramona was still hanging around, looking at the artwork Michael had bought for me in Sweden hanging on my living room wall. Dr. Gaphley patted me on the back as she took her leave, updating Ramona on my progress before leaving. After Monica (Dr. Gaphley) left, Ramona came to my side. “Ready to show me your songs?” Ramona asked, her eyes meeting mine. I nodded, leading her to my bedroom, I grabbed a couple of binders off the bookcase. “Oh, wow, two binders…Michael led me to believe that it was just one…” “Well he saw one, he didn’t see the other one. It’s from my speech class I took in high school. It contains poetry I wrote for a couple of projects in that class…” “I see…” She said, as she took the orange binder and opened it up. We both sat on the floor as we began the tedious task of deciding which lyrics had ‘industry’ potential. After about an hour we had gather about 40 songs that Ramona thought would be worthy of being on an album some day. We had segregated them from the rest of the songs in the my black binder. “Well there you are. Now I need to head back to my office and contemplate a new image for you and meet with some other clients of mine. Have a great rest of your day.” Ramona said, handing my black binder to me as I placed it on the table and walked her out of my apartment. I grabbed my keys and decided I would take a cruise and get more well acquainted with downtown LA. I went down the hallway and pressed the button to the elevator when a woman and her child passed me. I heard the child say to his mother. “Mommy, that looks like the lady I saw at the store, on the magazines.” “Don’t be silly Mijo, get inside.” I heard the woman scold her son. I put on my shades and entered the elevator at the end of the corridor. I waited for the elevator to go down to the first floor. Several people came in and got out on various floors. When I arrived on the lobby floor, the elevator opened and Yannick was standing there. “Crystal? I was just on my way to see you? What are you doing down here?” “I was going to go sight seeing…” “You driving?” Yannick asked, his eyes meeting mine. I nodded taking out my keys. “Can’t have you getting yourself lost, boss wouldn’t be too happy with me if he found out you got lost on the wrong side of town.” “Did Wayne ever tell you the time that Michael and I went on the wrong side of Dublin and his car got stolen?” “Really? Hm, he got his car back right?” “Of course, the thieves didn’t get far. They got as far as a couple blocks away before getting pulled over just as the bulletin went out.” “Well that’s pretty cool.” We both went into the car garage and got into my Ford Mustang. We both buckled in and I started the car. “Hey Crystal, are you hungry?” “A little, why?” I asked, putting the car in reverse and pulling out of the parking space. “I’ll show you a good place to eat, it’s not too far from here.” “Are you taking me to dinner?” I asked looking at him, arching my eyebrow in inquisition. “Nah, nothing like that. I got a girl. You fine and all, don’t get me wrong, but your Mike’s girl. I can’t do that to my boss…” Yannick said, smoothly as he looked at me. “I just want to show you some places to go, so you’re not cooped up in that apartment of yours.” “All right, that sounds fair…so where are we going?” “Take a right and go down three lights then take a left…” *Meanwhile back in Montana* Jason was waiting in line at the grocery stand when his eyes saw the Globe cover. He took the magazine off the shelf and paged through the tabloid and found the article about his Ex-fiancée. She was still a mystery to the writer of the article. Just then a light bulb went off in his head as he got up to the cashier he began putting his food up on the belt and added the magazine to it. If Crystal was going to ruin his life, he was going to do his best to ruin hers. After paying the cashier for the food, he went out to his car and took out his cell phone. He hit the appropriate options and waited for someone to answer the phone. “Hello?” “Hi, I’m looking for a Lilith Chase?” “Yes this is her office, she currently with someone right now…” “Oh well I have some information about the girl that Michael Jackson’s with, can I speak to someone now?” “Sure…” Jason was put on hold for a few seconds before someone else answered the phone. “Hello, this is Lilith Chase. I hear you have some information about the woman Michael Jackson is with?” “Yes I do,” “And who are you, and what’s your relationship to this woman?” “Let’s put it this way, I’m her ex-fiance, and she left me to be with that…guy.” “Oh so I take it that you know her very well.” “Yes, but first I want to talk about monetary gains….”*In London at the Globe headquarters*
“Monetary gains…yes, well I need to know what kind of information you are willing to give before we talk money Mr…” Lilith looked over at Lisa Marie Presley and gave a smile. “Holden, Jason Holden’s my name.” “Yes, Mr. Holden. So lets begin shall we? What your ex-fiancé’s name?” “Crystal Goetz.” “Ah, and how long have you two known each other?” “We met in college in the fall of 2006. So it’s been about a year.” “We’re you two romantically involved?” “Yes, however we were virgins, it was kind of a clumsy thing really.” “I see. When did this happen?” “We were together about 4 months before we started experimenting, at the 6 month mark we took the plunge. It was March I think.” “So how did Crystal meet Mr. Jackson?” “My guess that she was in Ireland when she met him. I was having a tryst with another girl, the girl was being obnoxious and while we were talking on the phone she overheard and broke things off with me. I’m sure she had already met Mr. Jackson prior to that.” “I see. When did this all take place?” “Oh it was Halloween.” “Oh, okay, so about a month ago.” “Yeah. I went over there to try and make it up with her, but by then she was already heavily involved with Michael and the fucker sucker punched me.” “Michael did? That’s really hard to believe.” “No I’m being serious, I would press charges but he’s got a team of lawyers working for him and I don’t want to get sued, I have nothing you know.” “Well, it looks like I’ll have to plan a trip to Montana here soon. Jason can you give me your address and directions to where you live? Also I’ll need to transfer some money over to a bank account…uh huh…” Lilith said, as she scribbled down the information. “Okay, well, I’m looking at my schedule and I can be there on Wednesday. Yes, it’s a couple of days. I’m sure. Uh-huh. Well I guess I’ll be seeing you on Wednesday then, bright and early. Yep…buh-bye now.” Lilith said, as she hung up the phone. “Who was that?” “An answer to prayer. Now getting back to situation at hand. I need for you to make a trip to Ireland and liaison with Michael…” “Why? We have nothing in common anymore, he does his thing, I do mine. There’s nothing between us.” “Well you see he’s with a firecracker of a woman…” “Lilith I’ve read your articles, she’s seems to be a wonderful girl. Michael needs someone like that…” “This girl though, she’s threatening to me. I need to make her understand that as a reporter of a tabloid, I can turn her life into a mess. I can spin stories that would make her head spin. Lisa, she cornered me in a bathroom and threw my phone down the toilet! She’s not that wonderful!” “Lilith I would have done the same thing too.” “Okay Lisa, if you don’t do this for me, I’ll make sure every tabloid prints an article about the affairs you had with your ex-husband and your trainer while you were married to Michael. I’m sure he still doesn’t know about those yet…” “You wouldn’t…” “Oh but I would. Just one phone call and it’s a done deal.” “You bitch. Fine, I’ll go see Michael next week. You better be there too.” Lisa said, venomously as she shot up from her chair. “Oh and Lisa…” Lilith said, just before Lisa was about to leave. “The million is in your account. I trust you’ll know what I want when I want it.” “Yeah, whatever.” Lisa said as she left Lilith’s office, feeling crossed and unsure. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
