Disclaimer: I do not know Joshua Bell (Do you think I'd be writing fan fic about him if I did?) the following story is TOTAL FICTION the prouct of my extraordinarily overactive imagination. No profit of any kind is made from the writing and publishing of this story! |
**************************************************************************************************************************** Louisa followed Mary out of the make up room and with Charlotte made her way around the corner of the hallway to the backstage area. ‘Alright I’m going to take my leave and go and sit in the audience’ Charlotte said taking Louisa’s electric violin and viola ‘have fun Louie’ Louisa smiled nervously. ‘Thanks’ Charlotte took off her green dress flowing around her and Louisa followed Mary a little further down the hallway til the faint buzz of the audience could be heard. ‘Okay let’s fit this on you’ Mary said taking a battery pack from the top of a small monitor and clipping it to the back of Louisa’s bodice ‘have you worn one of these before?’ ‘Yeah on the World Records Show though that one wasn't wireless’
‘Well they pretty much the same it’s just this battery pack on your bodice and an earpiece in your ear. That’s for when you perform you’ll be able to hear me and Andy the director. I’ll also pin a bud microphone on your front so everyone can hear you’
‘No worries’ Mary plugged Louisa into the battery pack then switched the device on. ‘You’re all set’ she said ‘Through your earpiece you’ll be able to hear me. You’ll also be able to hear the music that takes us to and from the break and Ellen herself. You stay here til you hear the music and only go on stage when Ellen introduces you got it?’ ‘I can handle that’ Louisa said exhaling loudly. ‘Alright I’ve got to leave you and go to my spot but just listen to everything coming through your earpiece and you’ll be fine’ Mary said with a smile ‘good luck’ ‘Thanks Mary’ Mary disappeared in the same direction as Charlotte had and Louisa was left behind the divider that blocked the backstage from the main stage. She bounced on the balls of her feet nervously and briefly let her mind drift back to New York and to Josh and his sons who were waiting for her to return home to them. She was yanked back to the present when the ‘back from the break’ music started playing in her ear and the camera angle on the little monitor swept down over the audience and to Ellen. ‘Last week the third episode of the renewed series of Guinness World Records T.V went to air and my next guest featured as the only record breaker on that episode....take a look’ A short audio visual montage followed that featured clips and stills from Louisa’s segment on the Guinness Records show that ended with her holding up her certification and flashing a wink and thumbs up to the camera. ‘Please welcome the new fastest violinist in the world Louisa Riminton!’ Taking a deep breath Louisa put on a bright smile and walked around the divider and out into the brightly lit studio where the audience was on their feet applauding her enthusiastically. She gave a little wave then made her way over to Ellen who greeted her with a brief hug before guiding her over to her chair. ‘Louisa Riminton everyone!’ A fresh wave of cheers rose for the audience. Louisa saw Charlotte in the very front row seated behind a velvet covered ottoman upon which rested her viola and electric violin wave and she gave her friend a barely discernable wink. ‘Welcome Louisa how you doing?’ Ellen asked once the audience quietened down and resumed their seats. ‘Good, a little surprised by the reception, I didn’t think I was that popular’ Louisa said with a grin resting the lower bout of her violin on her thigh. ‘Oh you are very popular you know the video of you breaking your record has gone viral on YouTube? Three and a half million so far’ Louisa’s eyes widened in shock. ‘Seriously?’ she exclaimed in surprise ‘oh I so need to get out more I seriously didn’t know that’ ‘Well yeah it has so I decided to get you on’ Ellen said ‘how long have you been playing the violin?’ ‘Twenty seven years, since I was four’ Louisa said ‘most young girls pester their parents for a pony but no I pestered my parents for a violin even when I was a kid I thought it was a romantic instrument. I played all through primary and high school then I did a music degree at university’ ‘Now I’ve done a bit of research on you and you did a double degree didn’t you?’ Ellen asked. ‘Yeah I also studied veterinary medicine’ Louisa replied ‘I got masters in both courses’ ‘That workload must’ve been phenomenal!’ Ellen said incredulously ‘you did two masters degrees?’ ‘Yeah I did’ Louisa said with a grin ‘it was hard but my brothers call me a human computer and I just absorbed it all’ ‘You still work as a vet now?’ ‘Yeah I’m a horse vet specialising in reproduction and orthopaedics’ Louisa said ‘I work near Aqueduct racetrack and the majority of my workload is treating racehorses though I do my fair share of pot bellied little Shetland ponies’ ‘And obviously you’re Australian where did you grow up?’ ‘I grew up in Melbourne a typical city slicker sports nut’ Louisa said ‘in the school term, I played netball from when I was a little kid and ladies Australian Rules Football in the winter when I was in high school. The sport playing has lessened a lot since I graduated from university where music has become my hobby but I do get outdoors quite a lot horse riding with my fiancé or swimming’ ‘When did you come to the United States?’ ‘January two thousand six’ Louisa said ‘I arrived in Los Angeles bought myself a RV registered myself with the American Veterinary Association and spent the next five years driving around the country working as a fill in at various vet clinics. I’ve worked in every state and territory but finally decided to settle in New York where eighteen months ago I bought a house in Long Island’ ‘So you’ve given up the nomadic lifestyle?’ ‘Oh yeah now when I travel it’s generally to go home to Australia for Easter, Christmas and the odd family birthday or function’ Louisa said ‘after a while it’s unsettling not to have a permanent space but I went where the work was but I’m glad I experienced it’ ‘So what made you decide to go on the Guinness World Records show?’ ‘I saw an ad in the New York Post and decided on a whim to apply’ Louisa said ‘I said to my fiancé ‘what do you reckon? Should I do it ad he said yes and was a huge part of me breaking the record’ ‘Which is the Worlds Fastest Violinist....’ Ellen said. ‘Yup I had to play Flight of the Bumblebee in under one minute five seconds and five one hundredths of a second’ Louisa said ‘I did it in one minute five seconds and three one hundredths of a second’ The audience burst into whoops and cheers. ‘That’s burning’ Ellen said ‘because at a normal pace flight of the Bumblebee is played in....’ ‘One minute and thirteen seconds’ Louisa said ‘as it is Bumblebee is a fast piece and many a violinist has sore fingers after playing it. When I broke the world record my left hand’s fingers swelled to the point where I couldn’t get my sygnet ring off my middle finger for twelve hours’ ‘So what does the World’s Fastest Violinist do for fun?’ Ellen asked leaning back in her chair. ‘Well when I’ve got the time to veg out I indulge in photography’ Louisa said ‘before I got my current job I used to commute into Manhattan or go upstate for a weekend and go on trips just to take photos. My favourite place to go was Central Park and it was on one of those trips that I met the man who is now my fiancé’ ‘Now not many people would know this but your fiancé is a violinist himself and is a Grammy Award winning one isn’t he?’ Ellen asked. Louisa lit up. ‘Yeah he is’ Louisa said happily. ‘And Louisa’s fiancée for those of you who follow the Classical music scene is Joshua Bell isn’t it Louisa?’ ‘Yup’ Louisa said nodding. ‘So you meet a world famous Grammy winner smack in the middle of Manhattan?’ Ellen said with chuckle. Louisa grinned. ‘Yeah I did’ she said ‘wouldn’t ya know? The people you meet when you’re so far away from looking for love its ridiculous. He and Charlie my best friend were the two people who were pivotal in me getting the record’ ‘You have another connection with another Grammy your best friend is?....’ ‘None other than Charlotte Preston’ Louisa said with a grin as the camera angle swung over to Charlotte who gave a small wave when the audience cheered as the recognized her. ‘Of course who won a Grammy for composing the orchestral score for Hidden Away’ Ellen said ‘now Charlotte you’ve known Louisa for a long time haven’t you?’ ‘Yeah I first met Louie in grade eight’ Charlotte said ‘we shared all the same classes right up to graduation and did the same music degree course at Melbourne University. We lost touch after university but we met again over here last year at the Rockefeller Plaza Tree Lighting where both our men were doing the concert’ ‘And how did you become part of Louisa breaking the record?’ ‘She phoned me one day after she’d got an audition for the show and asked me to help her practice over Skype til it came time for her to come to L.A and film her spot. I used to play it quite a bit at recitals at University and am more comfortable with it than Louie was, so three times a week we practiced. Josh her fiancé was helping her refine her technique and I was helping her with playing it at speed’ ‘Without either’s help there’s no way I would’ve gotten the record’ Louisa said emphatically. ‘So tell me about your violin’ Ellen said as the camera zoomed in on Louisa’s violin. ‘Well this particular instrument I’ve been playing since I graduated from high school’ Louisa said plucking the A string lightly ‘I took some of my trust fund money out after graduating and had this made. It’s a replica of the Soil Stradivarius. The legendary Yehudi Menhuhin played it in the early twentieth century and now it’s owned by Itzhak Perlman who is a living legend in the classical scene I wrote my degree dissertation on him and this particular instrument’ ‘Stradivarius violins are really expensive aren’t they?’ Ellen asked. ‘Original authentic Stradivarus are yeah’ Louisa said ‘a Stradivarius to a violinist is what a Ferrari is to a motoring enthusiast. Everyone wants one. The authentic Soil Stradivarius would be worth upwards of five or six million dollars. My copy would be worth thirty thousand dollars maximum. My fiancé has a genuine Stradivarius and they’re extraordinarily expensive to buy and insure’ ‘Now you don’t just stop at the violin you play viola too don’t you?’ Ellen asked ‘could you explain the differences?’ ‘Yeah essentially they’re the same but the viola is to an orchestra what an alto singer is to a choir’ Louisa said ‘a violin has a higher pitch like a soprano whereas a viola has a lower voice. The viola produces a more mellow tone’ ‘There’s an interesting story attached to your viola isn’t there?’ Ellen asked Louisa in interest, ‘Yeah there is’ Louisa said ‘about six months after I arrived in the States I was in Texas working at Lone Star racetrack in Dallas and one weekend I went to a deceased estate auction in Fort Worth and bought this particular instrument for a thousand dollars. It wasn’t until I met Josh and took my viola to his Luthier to be restored that I discovered it was a Guarneri Del Gesu which is second only to Stradivarius in stringed instruments and was valued at....well put it this way my house costs less’ ‘So it’s a million dollar instrument?’ Ellen asked incredulously. ‘Well several million yeah’ Louisa said ‘it was made in 1713 when the Stradivari and Guarneri families were at their peak of production. It’s a lovely instrument to play’ ‘So you travelled around the United States in a RV with a million dollar instrument in the back?’ Ellen said in amusement. ‘Yup it seems so’ Louisa said as the audience laughed ‘I almost had a heart attack when the Smithsonian sent me a letter advising me what to insure it for. But needless to say it is well and truly insured and I more often than not pick it up before my violin every day’ ‘And what is the other instrument?’ Ellen asked in interest as the camera shot zoomed in on Louisa’s electric violin ‘it has horns!’ ‘That’s my custom made Hades model electric violin’ Louisa said ‘it’s made by Ted Brewer a company that makes electric violins, violas, cellos and double bases. I had it made when I was in London three years ago and I used to busk on the London underground with this teeny little amplifier. I mainly play popular music like the Beatles, Rolling Stones or pop rock in general and it jazzes up regular classical pieces so if I want a Paganini or Schumann piece sound a little edgier I use my Hades. I wish I’d had this instrument in later high school and University it would’ve made recitals sound much less stuffy’ ‘Would you play both instruments for us later on?’ ‘Sure’ ‘No we got you on today to have another go at maybe breaking your record would you be game to have a go?’ Ellen asked. ‘Sure!’ Louisa said amiably as the audience cheered her ‘I don’t know how well I’m going to do though I haven’t played Bumblebee faster than it’s normal tempo since I did the record show two months ago’ ‘Well have a go anyway’ Ellen said cheerfully standing up and beckoning Louisa over to a tall stool in range of camera three. Louisa sat on the edge of the stood and hooked the heel of the pump on her right foot over the footrest as Ellen set up a metronome on the table next to them. ‘All set’ Louisa said tucking her violin under her chin. ‘Ladies and gentlemen the worlds Fastest Violinist Louisa Riminton!’ Louisa began tapping her left foot in time with the metronome and began counting. ‘One and two and three....’ Then off she was trying to replicate her performance on the Guinness show From the first note Louisa knew she wasn’t goin to beat her record but with a grin and her hair flying in all directions she fairly flew through Bumblebee zooming through the pizzicato and finishing on a lightning quick upstroke. The audience leapt to their feet and cheered enthusiastically as Louisa turned off the metronome and the studio lights came back on. ‘One oh seven flat Louisa close!’ ‘I knew I wouldn’t break the record again but it was fun trying’ Louisa said with a grin tucking a whisp of hair behind her ear. ‘Now I’ve been talking to friends of yours and I’ve discovered the violin isn’t your only musical talent’ Ellen said. ‘Who the heck have you been talking to?’ Louisa asked in amused exasperation as Charlotte playfully covered her face with her hands. ‘Now those friends no names being mentioned had a dig around and helped my producers produce this video of you in Glee Club starting from High School into University’ ‘Oh nooooooooooooooo!’ Louisa shrilled half amused half mortifiably embarrassed as vision of her belting out ‘Vogue’ as part of a grade eight glee club choir ‘oh my god Charlie I‘m so going to kill you!’ The next vision was of Louisa appearing as Christine in a year twelve production of Phantom of the Opera then it moved onto her as part of a flash mobbing university glee club choir singing and dancing to ‘Me, Myself and I’ it then ended with her singing ‘Popular’ as Glinda in a production of ‘Wicked’ in her last year of university in two thousand and four. ‘’But not as popular as meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!’ ‘Oh my god that is so EMBARRASSING!’ Louisa exclaimed with a shrill her face as red as her hair ‘Charlie did Mum give you that?’ ‘Yup she did’ Charlotte said with a giggle. ‘I’m going to kill her!’ ‘Now you’ve just displayed your skills at playing a violin at a lightning fast pace how could we get you to have a go at performing Popular?’ ‘Oh you’d have to start begging me now and I might come back to you in a couple of centuries where I might say NO’ Louisa said her face still bright red ‘oh my god I so cannot believe you got that vision! You have no idea how many people I’ve just written out of my will!’ ‘Aw come on Louie have a go!’ Charlotte called with a grin as Ellen laughed. ‘YEAH COME OOOOOOOOOOON’ the audience cheered stamping and clapping. ‘If it helps any I’ll do the Elphaba bit’ Charlotte said with a grin. ‘Come on Louisa what do you say?’ Ellen urged ‘my make up team and wardrobe department are poised ready to transform you into Glinda....’ ‘No no way!’ Louisa protested half heartedly feeling her resolve crumbling with every passing second ‘I still can’t believe you got that vision! I am so not going home for Christmas!’ ‘What would get you to pull on the glad rags Louisa?’ Ellen pleaded with a laugh. ‘A donation to charity’ Louisa said ‘a big one’ ‘Name your charity and it’s as good as done’ Ellen said with a grin. Louisa groaned as the last of her reluctance drained away. ‘Ten grand’ she said dryly ‘to be divided up between the A.S.P.C.A, the Salvation Army and the New York Rescued Racehorses Fund. Do that and you’re on’ ‘Done’ Ellen said with a grin as the audience cheered loudly ‘back at the end of the show with Louisa Riminton performing ‘Popular’ from the smash hit Broadway musical Wicked!’ ‘Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand CUT!’ the director called. As soon as the recording stopped Charlotte rushed over to Louisa clutching her electric violin and Guarneri. ‘I’m gonna kill you!’ Louisa wailed at her friend ‘Charlie I haven’t sung that song for years!’ ‘Louie you’ll be fine’ Charlotte said as Mary approached them ‘the production team will give you plenty of time to rehearse. It’s your favourite stage song and you sing it all the time and it’s your general ringtone!’ Louisa just groaned. ‘Hey Louie great stuff you’re going terrific stuff’ Mary said ‘now there’s going to be a break of about fifteen minutes so you can freshen up before you do your spot on your viola there’s plenty of drinks in your dressing room’ ‘Of the alcoholic variety I hope’ Louisa muttered dryly. ‘No I’m afraid not just Red Bull and coca-cola’ Mary said following Louisa and Charlotte back to the spacious room ‘what song can I tell the director you’ll be performing?’ ‘Uhm oh I’ll go with Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ Louisa said striding into the room and putting her acoustic violin back in it’s case ‘there’s no way I’ll have to think about the music to that one’ ‘Alright we’ll set you up in front of the audience again and I’ll come and get you in abut ten minutes alright? Linda might stop by to touch up your makeup’ ‘Sure thing’ As soon as Mary left Louisa collapsed into the nearest chair. ‘Don’t worry about the singing bit yet Louie concentrate on Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ Charlotte said sticking her friend’s viola under her chin and tuning it ‘you’ll have a couple of hours to rehearse for the later bit. And you know you’ll do that on your ear you know the words of Popular better than Kristin Chenoweth’ ‘She’s one of Josh’s exes you know that?’ Louisa said dryly taking a can of Red Bull from the small bar fridge next to her chair ‘that’s not going to be half weird when he sees the segment when it goes to air’ ‘Oh it is not Josh and Kristen dated for five minutes ten years ago’ Charlotte said ‘he’s fully into you not her or any of his previous girlfriends. You have to stop being so insecure you have finally met the one and he doesn’t give a rats arse about anyone before you. He only has eyes for you’ Louisa smiled. ‘Yeah he does’ she said with a dreamy sigh. **************************************************************************************************************************** After recording ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ for her second performance on her viola and third performance on her electric violin playing Poker Face by Lady Gaga Louisa returned backstage and began rehearsing for the ‘Popular’ segment’ Charlotte had started calling it. She sang the song over and over with Charlotte in the dressing room then went out for a rough rehearsal on the set before returning to wardrobe and make up for the final look. ‘I hope you know I’m suffering for you’ Charlotte said good naturedly as one of Linda’s assistants began painting her exposed skin green. ‘You make it sound like I asked Ellen if I could do this’ Louisa said dryly closing her eyes as Linda began applying the heavy stage makeup associated with the ‘Glinda Look’ as the older woman called it ‘I could quite happily go back to the farm grab all my shit and take the earliest flight I can back to New York. I feel like a total arse’ ‘You’ll be fine Louie relax’ Linda said colouring her lips bright red ‘you had fun in rehearsals didn’t you?’ ‘Well....yes’ Louisa agreed reluctantly ‘Josh is never going to believe I’m doing this’ ‘I think he’ll get a laugh out of it’ Charlotte said with a grin. ‘So will half of America!’ ‘You’re too good to be laughed at’ Charlotte said firmly ‘come on Louie you’re awesome’ Louisa couldn’t help but grin at her friend’s confidence. 'Maybe this will be fun' she thought. **************************************************************************************************************************** An hour later after final make up and two more dress rehearsals Mary came to check Louisa and Charlotte’s battery packs on the set the two women would perform on. ‘Right they’re all good to go’ she said ‘you’ll hear all the music through your earpieces and you know the deal follow the cues and begin and of course have fun’ Well there’s nothing else I can do is there?’ Louisa said dryly making sure the blonde wig she was wearing sat securely on her head ‘I seriously cannot believe I am about to do this’ ‘Ah relax you’ll be fine’ Charlotte said with a grin ‘I don’t know about you but I miss Glee Club, maybe we ought to join a community theatre group’ ‘You can do whatever the hell you like’ Louisa muttered as the bustle from the audience suddenly lessened. ‘Good luck girls’ Mary said making the final adjustments to Louisa’s battery pack ‘it’s all over to you’ And she left. ‘Break a leg’ Charlotte whispered. ‘Thanks’ ‘And back from the break to end the show today is a last minute number. You’ll remember earlier in the show it was revealed that Louisa Riminton the World’s Fastest Violinist was also an enthusiastic participator in glee clubs throughout high school and college and has quite a thing for musicals. Her favourite number is Popular from the Broadway mega hit Wicked so with a bit of help from her friend Grammy Award winning composer Charlotte Preston here is Louisa Riminton to sing Popular!’ The audience burst into whoops and cheers and the stage screens pulled back and Louisa was on, she took a quick breath then began. ‘Elphie now that we’re friends I’ve decided to make you my new project' You really don’t have to do that’ Charlotte said ‘I know that’s what makes me so nice!' The music began ‘Whenever I see someone less fortunate than I, And let’s face it who isn’t less fortunate than I? My tender heart tends to start to bleed And when someone needs a makeover I simply have to take over I know, I know. exactly what they need! And even in your case,
Though it’s toughest case I’ve yet to face Don’t worry! I’m determined to succeed Follow my lead And yes, indeed You Will Be.... Popular You’re gonna be popular I’ll teach you the proper ploys when you talk to boys Little ways to flirt and flounce ooh!I’ll show you what shoes to wear
How to fix your hair Everything that really counts to be popular I’ll help you be popular You’ll hang with the right cohorts You’ll be good at sports Know the slang you’ve got to know So let’s start because you’ve got an awfully long way to goooooo!Don’t be offended by my frank analysis
Think of it as personality dialysis Now that I’ve chosen to become a pal, a sister an advisor There’s nobody wiser Not when it comes to popular I know about popular And with an assist from me To be who’ll you’ll be Instead of dreary who you were....well are Nothing’s going to stop you from becoming Populer-lar Laaaaa laaaaa laaaaaa laaaaa We’re gonna make you pop-u-ler!When I see depressing creatures with unprepossessing features
I remind them on their own be-half to-think-of Celebrated heads of state Or ‘specially great communicators Did that have brains or knowledge? Don’t make me laugh They were popular Please It’s all about popular It’s not about aptitude It’s the way you’re viewed So it’s very shrewd to be Very very popular Like me! ‘Why Miss Elphaba look at you! You’re beautiful!’ ‘I-I have to go’ Charlotte ran off stage ‘You’re welcome!’ Louisa turned toward the camera and fully sank herself into the last verse of her favourite song ‘And though you protest you dis-interest I know clandestinely You’re gonna grin and bear it your new found popularity AH! Laaaaaa laaaaa laaaaaaa laaaa You’ll be popular Just not as quite as popular as meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!’ The studio audience leapt to their feet and roared their approval as Louisa finished off on a loud not holding her pose on ‘Glinda’s’ bed. She waited a second then let out the breath she was holding in a rush. ‘That was awesome!’ Ellen enthused entering the ‘set’ and embracing Louisa as Charlotte came back on and hugged her friend also ‘ladies and gentlemen a Broadway standard performance!’ ‘I d-don’t think it w-was the-at good’ Louisa puffed a feeling of elation coursing through her. ‘You were awesome!” Charlotte exclaimed. ‘Did you two have fun?’ Ellen asked. ‘Loads’ ‘Alright that’s it for today folks tomorrow Dakota Fanning and Robert Pattinson see you tomorrow folks!’ ‘Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand CUT!’ As soon as the recording finished Louisa flopped onto ‘Glinda’s’ horribly pink bed. ‘I can’t believe I did that!’ she said incredulously ‘that was the best fun I’ve had in ages!’ ‘Join that community theatre group honey!’ Charlotte said with a snort of laughter her green face alive with enthusiasm. ‘I don’t have the time’ ‘I’ve got to leave you two here and go and get ready for the next segment recording but it was great to have you here’ Ellen said ‘good to see you again Char Louisa don’t be a stranger come for a visit whenever you’re in town won’t you?’ ‘Sure thing’ Louisa said enthusiastically ‘nice meeting you Ellen’ ‘Likewise’ Charlotte dragged Louisa offstage and back to the makeup room where they were all hailed by the staff. ‘You were awesome Louie seriously that was the best fun!’ her friend said plopping down in a chair and carefully removing the long black wig she was wearing ‘we’re going to a karaoke bar next time I’m in New York and doing that’ ‘The only way I’m singing in public again is if I’m pole axed or someone is going to pay me a stupid amount of money’ Louisa said half heartedly as Linda removed her wig and started to take off her makeup ‘that was embarrassing’ ‘Maybe but I know you had fun you were in the zone’ out there like you were in the middle of the Caprice at your first conservatorium recital’ Charlotte said with a grin ‘when you’re in the zone no one can beat you. That performance is going to go viral on YouTube next’ ‘You knew this was going to happen didn’t you?’ Louisa asked dryly ‘before we even got here, that’s why you volunteered to be Elphaba’ ‘Oh yeah I decided to volunteer weeks ago when Ellen rang me while Josh and I were in Paris’ Charlotte said with a grin ‘when Ellen asked me what you were into at high school and the university drama club’s production of Wicked we were in immediately sprang to mind. All this was planned weeks ago’ ‘Oh well that figures’ **************************************************************************************************************************** The following morning Louisa made her way to LAX for her return flight to New York. ‘I’ve had the best few days with you here Louie don’t be a stranger’ Charlotte said hugging her friend as Louisa’s flight began boarding ‘let’s catch up for Christmas alright? Even if it’s just for a day, you come down here or I’ll come up to New York’ ‘Sounds good’ Louisa said returning the hug ‘thanks for having me Charlie’ ‘Anytime honey’ And with one last hug Louisa had her boarding pass scanned then with a wave she slung her instrument cases over her shoulder and with a wave turned and made her way down the sky bridge on her way home to New York. **************************************************************************************************************************** A/N: The song 'Popular' is not a song I own the publishing and recording rights to (I don't know who does) the original version was performed on Broadway in 2003 by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel.
